Sorely disappointed that yelps rating did not match our experience. We got take out and spent over $50 on 4 entrees for a family of 4. As soon as I picked up the bags of food, they felt light and underweight. And sure enough, the boxes were half filled as compared to other restaurants' takeout food. The portions were skimpy at best. What made it worse was that they completely screwed up on our sandwich order. The sandwich contained mystery meat that was extremely salty. We wanted mayo but no jalapeños and of course, it came with jalapeños and no mayo. We ended up getting some hamburgers afterwards to make sure that our kids had enough for dinner. read more

I read a lot of good reviews for this place. So I went last night to check them out for the first time. Setting: the lights are dim. I sat next to the window so it was not as lit as the booths. We were immediately greeted and seated when we walked in. + Food: I couldn't decide what to choose from with the many options they provide. They have hibachi grill items. That is pretty cool to add that in with the Thai food. I went with the G07. Neur-Yang (Thai Steak). It came with rice. OMG! It was cooked and seasoned so remarkably well. So good! The chili sauce comes on the side so I dipped my steak in it. They have a plate for hot chilies and sauces. The steak was really good! Wait! Didn't I just say that ? Lol ++ I tried the Drunken Noodles it was really good too. I just found it odd that the noodles were cut in small pieces. It was cool that it was cut into one inch or smaller pieces, but just never seen it like that. The dish was good with lots of vegetables and the meat was seasoned very well. + Service: there were two waitresses and they were attentive. They do honor the 10% off discount on Yelp. I came in for lunch and had a pretty enjoyable meal. It is located in a strip center with plenty of parking. The inside is clean and inviting. You pay at the counter, find a seat, and then they bring the food to your table. The restaurant works hard to promote cleanliness, the Silverware/napkin comes wrapped in plastic, it's "real" utensils which is nice. The food is a mix of Thai and Vietnamese but also a few Chinese plates. Omg the inside smells of baked bread and it's so heavenly!! I think the owner rang us up and she said she bakes the bread daily. We tried the pork belly banh mi, egg drop soup, and tofu drunken noodles. The bread on the banh mi lived up to the hype - soft yet crunchy. The vegetables were fresh. Pork belly itself was ok tasting. The sandwich looks to be about a foot long! The drunken noodles were a big portion, I took a third of it home for leftovers. It had good flavor and included mushroom, bell peppers, onion, basil. Best Banh Mi in Austin. I've been going here since they were Ng BMT inside Lucky Bakery. They've nailed the filling-to-bread ratio, the veggies are fresh, and their bread is perfect! Their Thai food is really good, too. It's not too syrupy/sweet like a lot of Austin places. I've spent a lot of time in Vietnam and Thailand and this is where I choose to eat. The owners are just really kind, lovely people who make your food with love. Y'all this is like the best quarantine take-out in Austin. It's tasty, inexpensive, easy, and they have the social distancing thing down: you wait in the car, they put the food on a table outside, and you pick up once they've gone inside. Pro tip: they call their banh mi "baguettes" because they can't advertise Vietnamese food/sandwiches due to silly restrictions on their lease (because there's another Asian restaurant in the same shopping center). The tom kha soup had way too many onions and the broth didn't have that delicious rich coconut milk broth that you expect from tom kha. The pad thai was also pretty good. For some reason, they are not calling their banh mi by its rightful name, they are under the alias of "Asian sandwich". It's the same. Delicious meat and veggie filled sandwiches on a fresh toasty french baguette. Pefect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I brought my family here and they confirmed that this is authentic Vietnamese Banh Mi. We tried the shrimp (my original favorite), the barbecue pork, and the combination Banh Mi. One of the owner ladies have been working with professional chefs and has improved the bread. I thought it was perfect before, but now there's a crisp texture, and it tastes great the day after 2. Just make sure to freeze it if you don't eat it right away, then toast it when you're ready. Get the word out.
