All the reviews about this company are true. The Worst Moving Company! Zero stars really! I have had the same exact issues everyone else on YELP has experienced. This company does not care and manages to raise the original price of the move once they have all your stuff loaded on their truck so you have to agree to the terms. Did they move our items from California to Colorado? Yes but damaged, squished boxes and nothing was reassembled as they told me it would be. They jacked us and after filing a complaint with Wells Fargo trying to get some of our money back, got denied as Next Stop dotted their i's and crossed their t's to make sure they go paid. I wish I could give them zero stars! This company is completely incompetent and reckless. As others have stated, the price went up and then wanted final payment only thru Zelle. I finally demanded they take my credit card as agreed to originally. then they texted me stating my cc company does not allow foreign transactions. when I started questioning why this would be a foreign transaction and demanding to speak with the owner, they finally ran my cc as a regular transaction. When my belongings finally arrived (late), it was just the driver and a "guy" they hired to help. Almost every box and nearly every piece of furniture had sometime of damage, as well as two pieces of furniture missing. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! read more

RUN, don't walk, from Next Stop! Most of my items were seriously damaged. Also, it's been a month since filing my claim, and in typical fashion, their staff HAS NOT RESPONDED. In fact, once this HORRIBLE company has your money, no matter how many times you call or email, or chat digitally with them, they WILL NOT respond seriously. Your only protection is to pay their full insurance quote. Here is what Next Stop's cavalier sales staff will tell you: "We will pack your items in bubble wrap and cardboard." Hahaaa! Pull my other leg so I can walk straight! Here is what they did in my case. Their movers used a few blankets, left my items in their Texas warehouse for months, then sent my furniture to their storage prison in Los Angeles where their inmates viciously abused it. My cherrywood sleigh bed suffered death by scraping. What was once a flawless headboard now resembles the face of the Black Dahlia post-mortem. Nightstand and coffee table also suffered deep scraping wounds, the drawers of the matching double dresser no longer open, and my extra large, ceramic pot arrived completely shattered. My hunch is that Next Stop has a mindless foreman in their Los Angeles warehouse (Nick?) who gets paid to haphazardly stuff as many unpacked pieces of furniture willy-nilly next to and on top of one another in their storage prison. I have pictures of unused packing materials next to my battered wares. Had I known to pay a thousand additional dollars to ensure my shipment would not be mistreated, I would not have signed the contract. Since apologies are not in this company's wheelhouse, all I can hope for is their embarrassment when they finally, if ever, view my photos/video of the damages. Judging from the BBB complaints and prior experience, I am discouraged. That these clowns have a "B" rating on the BBB suggests Next Stop must write their own reviews. I have not worked with a more negligent company. I look forward to using additional social media outlets to spare others from my fate. read more

Please adhere to everyone's warning and do not use this company We requested to move our belongings from the California, Bay Area to South Carolina. They gave us a reasonable quote then on the DAY OF PICKUP they changed the price. We were quoted around 4200 ( after telling them exactly how many boxes we had) and they tried to raise the price to 8000+. We called "management and were able to negotiate price down to 6000 but then the movers refused to wrap our tv and glass table top with their packing materials. We ended up using our own and hoped for the best. Once they took our items to the warehouse it took them 3 weeks from the pick up date to start making their journey to South Carolina (they wait until they have multiple stops along the same route). They will absolutely wait until the very last day to drop off your items. The driver called us the night before drop off (9pm) saying he could be there at 9am. My husband took a few hours off work to meet them there thinking it would only be a couple hours but when the delivery truck got to the unit the driver was refusing to pull in because he said the truck was too big. Which we would have had to pay extra from them to bring our items to the unit. After being on the phone back and forth for 4 hrs he finally pulled in. Then my husband had to wait another 1hr for them to take our last payment. Only then did they start unloading. This whole drop off process took 6 hrs! From 9am to 3pm. Horrible experience please do not use this company. read more

This is the worst moving company ever!! My items were destroyed. Boxes were smashed and taped together. My furniture wasn't wrapped and protected. Multiple items were broken as if my boxes were tossed carelessly. When asking for a refund or reimbursement, I have had nothing but problems and needed to contact an attorney. You would be better renting a Uhaul and hiring people to load and unload. Run!! Do not use this company. read more

This was a horrible experience. Do not under any circumstances move with this dishonest and dishonorable company. The salespeople will promise the moon, and access to them to help you, then disappear. They do not answer phones. They scour the contract (which has a lot of confusing fine print that is not at all what they said) for the absolutely worst they can treat you, then they are even worse. Add to that the fact that they are expensive and good luck getting compensation for lateness and broken items. At one point someone even threatened me because I had questions about the contract. Please learn from my mistakes and stay far away. Zero stars. read more

First of all this company is a broker. We specifically asked Robert if they were and he said they were not but they are. I really don't have the time and energy to relive this horrible experience but if you are looking for honesty, integrity and communication do not use this company. They will damage your belongings and give you the run around in regards to any warranty that may have been previously discussed. This company was the Worst. From advertising as direct owners to actually be a company that hires through third party workers to raising my prices again and again, this has been the WORST experience ever. They broke every promise they made, kept increasing my rates, and would not deliver in the promised time frame. I had a dedicated truck, yet they still managed to send my items in the most circuitous route possible telling me they would not deliver until I paid. Contacted Next Stop Moving, Tuesday, 14 November 2023, and spoke with Chris Bennett regarding my future move on Friday, 29 December 2023. I was quoted $1800 and that a deposit of $400 was required. We agreed that I would pay the required deposit on Friday, 17 December 2023, and the deposit was paid. Wednesday, 13 December 2023, I receive a call from a man who states that he is Scott and Chris' boss: 'Hi this is your move confirmation confirming your move for Dec 29th between 9am and 10am driver will call 30 minutes before also you have balance of $1400 half is due now at confirmation the rest at delivery so what's due now is $700 we take Zelle the Zelle is kirneshaagoodwin@gmail.com Text me once it's paid I will email you receipt and mark confirmed Scott Next, stop moving.' I replied: I was told $700 at pick up. Why are payment arrangements changing. Is this Chris? Scott replied: 'I'm the owner. Chris is my employee $700 is due now for the rest at delivery.' I replied: Sorry, I didn't prepare for that...why now, 2 weeks b4 move, you are requesting money. I was told by 2 people that the rest of the payment is due at the move day. This is unacceptable, and I feel taken advantage of.. I texted Chris of this with no response. Taylor calls, and we discussed the inventory when she tells me that there is an additional shuttle fee, $350, and gas surcharge fee and the initial quote of $1800, and was now $3176. I vehemently rejected the quote and requested to cancel the move. She responded that she wasn't management and that she would contact them. Fortunately, I have the message with the date and time. It took 24 hours for Sierra to return my call, and I simply stated that I wanted out of move and returned my $400 deposit. A couple of hours later, she called and stated that because my inventory to move was so small, 300 sqft, they would maintain the original quote of $1800, and I agreed. Moving day 29 Dec 23, Stephan and his assistant arrive and I ask Stephan for his quoted amount and explained my issues with the second quote and he brushed me off with jokes that our names were similar..blah blah blah. They load their truck with my belongings and then give the rejected quote amount. I told him that he was deceptive, and I fully disclosed my objections to prior to them moving my belongings and demanded that they remove my items from their truck. He made several calls and to no avail because no one answered. During the return of my boxes, one in particularly marked "FRAGILE" was broken corning dishes and Japanese bowls from my deceased mother and brother. My end tables were damaged, and they only went from the apartment to the truck, back to the apartment. The blatant dishonesty and damage is incomprehensible that a company that claims to provide the best moving service could not only mislead but flat out lie and redacted emails to support their quote. However, I have text from Chris Bennett, his boss, and voice mail from Taylor that support my claim and return of my $400 deposit. If I could give zero stars I would. We did not hire this company, hired Safe Ship and was outsourced to this company.... NEVER AND I REPEAT NEVER use this company for long haul moving. They are horrible... lost and damaged items, people are rude. How do you lose a 250 lb headboard??? We got the footboard and rails but the headboard is no where to be found. They quote one price, and make promises and then break them when they show up to pickup. Oh, and watch them and their highlighted, sign here areas. They don't tell you that you are signing away your options on insuring your load. I could go on and on...filing claim with BBB and their crap insurance. What a complete sh*t show!! This company held my friends' furniture and necessary household items hostage for an entire month after they had moved across country with two small children, starting their new life in total chaos. Imagine trying to get your kids off to school each day with absolutely none of your possessions. Completely unacceptable. This company did not offer a refund or a discount and when my friends brought it up, they ignored them. Next Stop Moving - this is your chance to make it right. Lost items include a pack and play (worth about 50.00), 2 plant stands (costing me about $60.00) these were probably given to the people whose items were before mine on the truck. Did they check anywhere for them????????????? I seriously doubt it. My grand children's sand box (I paid $49.00) What on earth makes these people think they should advertise that they do careful work?????????????? After reading dozens of positive reviews from multiple sites, I trusted this company. The sales rep assured me that a 26 ft truck would deliver to my final destination (as my apartment building would not allow a semi truck at arrival). The pick up was relatively smooth except for the giant semi truck that showed up and blocked half the neighborhood. They arrived relatively on time (communication was good) and on the agreed date. I paid for Direct Delivery - which was an extra $900 and my things were supposed to arrive on Friday, May 24th - which they did not. I called Friday for an update and they did not know and said they would call me back after talking to the "dispatcher" (which is that a sign of this being a broker, unknown). Same thing Saturday, no updates, no answers (called ~3 times). Called Sunday ~3x (left ringing and on hold until it hung up on me, about 30 minutes) and literally no one answered the phone or chat lines. I could not reach anyone from the company and honestly if I did- I doubt they would know where my things were. Finally on Monday, through CHAT online (not even over the phone), Karina was able to provide an update of when the movers would be here the following day. The driver texted me Monday night confirming the drop off location and time and I asked to make sure the semi-truck was NOT being used to deliver my things, and he said he was unaware of that issue, and that he'd have to drive to U-Haul and transfer my things (I told the rep, the intake person, AND the movers on arrival day this reminder). Finally- at 6:30pm (previously told 2pm) the driver and another person arrived to help unload. The driver & movers themselves were fantastic and very friendly/responsive. TLDR: I was charged $500 for the U-Haul transfer, only a couple items arrived damaged, and my $352 office chair was missing from the inventory list AND on arrival. I'm actively filing a dispute with my credit card company for the $900, $500, and missing chair. read more

Paid them to pack and move from Houston to Nashville. They tried to up charge me while packing and showed up late. Ended up renting a haul to pack and haul half myself. Showed up in Nashville almost a week late, boxes and furniture all beat up. Delivery personnel demanded tip, and many broken items from their packing as well as furniture damage. Filed a damage request and never heard back. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I didn't do my homework on the front end well enough. read more

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. We booked them for a move from Houston to the Atlanta area. There's so many stories to tell from this situation, but I can tell you that I would never book them again. From issues with people showing up to do the job (and staying until 4 am on the second (technically 3rs day), to customer service that did not follow through, to being threatened with not receiving the rest of our stuff (at the end of the 21 business day (which really means we went a whole month with what we could fit in on cars) possible window (despite being told 10 days by the guy we booked with and several others). Then, when our final delivery is made, they handed it off to some other company because their people didn't want to put together the furniture that they took apart...not to mention the things that were damaged (like our two year old washer), taken/not delivered (or were left behind because no one did a walkthrough, video or in person). We'd call to complain, but after dealing with Cierra, Anastasia, Paul and a few others... it's just not worth the headache. Booked a move well in advance, original point of contact was great and everything was setup. I knew I had a 30 day clause that would cost me my deposit should I need to cancel. Life happened, had to cancel due to family needs. Tried to cancel, couldn't reach my contact, tried emailing no response tried calling and I was given the run around and had to call back multiple times over two weeks. Finally heard back from someone the day after my 30 day cancellation notice would've been required. Lost the full deposit due to their games. Thanks for screwing over a disabled military vet, who needed to cancel to take care of a family member. Shady and morally compromised. read more

This entire team receives one star. First, Next Stop Moving has a sales team that would lead you to believe they follow your items from start to end. This is NOT true, in my case with Alex. Second, the three men that showed up to pack my belongings were very nice but as it turns out they do not use proper packing barriers. Items loaded on the truck did not make it to the final destination. The foreman was Edwin. Third, Elizabeth, my assigned "move coordinator" was very slow to respond to my concerns. She told me she only had email contact with the dispatchers (she did not have a phone number). Lastly, when the driver arrived at my house, he had the original contract that was signed. Someone used correction tape to change numbers after the contract was signed which increased the cost of the move. read more

This company takes shady to the next level, and then some. I did like many people would, I suppose, and I reached out for movers in my area through a Google search. I was contacted by about 15+ companies but I thought that next stop sounded reasonably good, at first, somehow not seeing all the negative reviews. My story is a painful one...our point of contact took our rough inventory and quoted us $8K for a cross country move, which was for 1300 cu/ft. I was told upon signing the contract that I could request a QA review (this is how they determine the size of your move) any time and as many times as I would like. They NEVER responded to my repeated requests for the QA review, and I knew that they were planning on bringing a "large box truck" that could hold our 1300 cuft and "a little more". I began getting nervous the week of the move and was unable to reach anyone at the company all the way up until the day before our move. So it's Friday morning, we are supposed to be picked up the following morning, and I call the main number again...a person answers...omg! She says, "Hey is this Jon?" And I say "Yes it is"...she says, give me one minute, I will cal you right back. And she hangs up...no chance for me to respond. I wait an hour and then start calling again, I call about 15 times from both mine and my wife's phone, only to have it ring for minutes on end with no answer. It's 4pm, no QA review, a vehicle that can't handle our move...and I had spoken to another mover who said, well call us if "things get weird" (actual wording he used!!) so I did. I told the lady about what they had said and done and she told me that they were going to take us for a ride...she did our inventory and it was 4x the size they had quoted and once we were into the move with them, we would be stuck...no getting out...and they could take us for a ride on the price as well. So we had no QA, which they were contractually obligated to provide no less than 4 days prior to the move, and they had not responded to our calls, or emails...and we could not be sure they were even still in business. So we emailed once more notifying them of our cancellation of the move with them and we called the CC company(Capital One) and disputed the charge. The finally contacted us at 8pm to provide the QA review and confirm our pickup time, and then harassed us for the next several days including threats to take us to court of we attempted to dispute the charge. We paid $1800 to be left in the lurch by this company, and that was the less expensive option. Had we gone with them, I can only imagine how horrible our move would have gone. Please tell your friends and family, and neighbors, and anyone willing to listen...this place is a SCAM!!! Do not let them take your money! You will not get it back, even if they don't provide you with ANY LEVEL of service! I will be posting all of my documentation once my PII is redacted, so that it is available for all to see...this will include the original contract, the bill of lading, the two responses I received to requests for the QA review after signing the contract, as well as the text and email messages sent to us threatening legal actions against us. This is not just my word or me complaining because something could have been better, this is a real life horror story that significantly impacted my family and I, so I will be sharing the documented proof of how shady this company and the people who work there actually are, and hopefully, it will save some folks the hardship that we went through. Nation wide along with Next stop moving and storage made this the worst experience I have ever had, As a former Military person I have moved many times, If I had not gone through this myself I would not believe it, Spent hours on the phone with Nation Wide going over every item, However when the driver showed up they asked for another 12K or they would not move us, Saying Nation wide considered the dimentions of the item, not the boxes they Use, Having no other choice I paid it. 2/3 of items lost enroute. After complaing they found some of our items, I filed a complaint for lost items, and over a thousand dollars of damage, Including destroring TV' that we in a "special box" they made me pay for, They offered me a settlement of 109$. read more

We didn't even hire this company, we hired American Van lines. The day before the movers showed up, we were contacted and informed we would be out sourced to Next Stop moving for the pick up. When the movers showed up, they didn't even have the itemized list I had created with American Van lines. Igor said to start, he would have to make his own itemized list. It was Christmas eve and I was extremely busy, so I could not supervise what Igor was doing. When he finished, he stated that he had to send me a new estimate because he noted some additional items. He said not to worry about the price because once our stuff got to American Van lines, they would weigh it and it would go back down. I made the huge mistake of believing him. They loaded our stuff into their trucks December 24th and it was supposed to be delivered to our new house by January 3rd at the latest. 5 days after they picked up our stuff, I was finally able to sit down and read over the additional item list that Igor made. It had stuff on it that we didn't even own. 5 bassinets, we don't even have an infant. A desk that they broke down into 3 parts and then called it 3 separate desks. 15 wardrobe boxes, I didn't even buy wardrobe boxes. I called American Van lines, thinking they were still the company I was working with. They didn't even know where our stuff was! This is when I realized our stuff was never given over to American Van lines. Next stop moving, a company we never agreed to do business with had our stuff the whole time. When our stuff finally arrived, January 7th, 4 days late, they would not move our stuff into our home until we paid the amount listed on the estimate their mover sent me. The amount he told me to ignore, the amount that was twice as much as what I had agreed upon with American Van lines. They are now currently holding all our property hostage until they receive this new amount. We allowed Next Stop to take possession of our things based off the word of American Van lines and now they will not return ANY OF OUR STUFF! They are holding over $200,000 of our stuff for $4000. $4000 that I do not have to give them because I only planned to pay the amount I had agreed upon with American Van lines. It's a scam. If you hire, make sure you watch their every move. read more
