Mary, the owner of Longhorn Moving, is a joy to work with. I have used Longhorn Moving for two different moves, and they were professional, prompt, and reasonably priced. The second move was complicated by the pandemic and then by rain, and Mary bent over backwards to be flexible and accommodating. All of the movers were pleasant and careful and easy to work with. UNRELIABLE! DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! I was in Kansas City for three weeks for business. I scheduled my move a week ahead of time with ABC Longhorn. I called the day before to confirm since I hadn't heard from them to confirm the move. The office is closed on Saturday so no answer. Sunday ( move day) comes and nobody shows up. Still can't reach them by phone. My apartment is already leased to someone else so I don't have any options but to rent a truck and find someone to help me move with zero notice. In the 10 years I've been in Austin, I've had to move a total of 4 times. Not too bad if I do say so myself...for all four of those times, I've used Longhorn Movers. They've been reasonably priced, showed up on time, were nice as can be, never gave me any crap when I had more than I thought (of course a big tip never hurts!), and were careful with my belongings. We had used this company for our office move last year, so I knew I'd want to check with them about my own move to a new apartment. The office folks I talked to on the phone were super-friendly and the company provided a reasonable estimate. The movers showed up on time (actually a few minutes early) and were extremely professional and cordial. Unlike the company I had used for my move-in (to the place I was now leaving), they didn't throw furniture over railings or take any shortcuts which might damage my furniture. ABC Longhorn's movers were very careful about even placing my pieces a short distance from the wall so there wouldn't be scratches. Although I hopefully won't be moving again for a little while, I'm extremely likely to call ABC Longhorn when the time comes. Strongly recommended! read more

I used ABC Longhorn to move all our big furniture to our new home in the same zip code. This company really impressed me. First of all, the guys are very professional. With movers, you never know what you're going to get. ABC sent out five guys to tackle my move. Every one of them was courteous and respectful. More importantly, they were organized and well trained. They worked like a team, rather than five random guys who showed up to move stuff. People had clear roles and they worked efficiently. Now here's the most important thing: THEY WERE CAREFUL. They took their time getting things in and out of the homes and the reason was obvious: they were trying to make sure they didn't ding the walls or the furniture. Most movers I've used in the past rush through the job. These guys are all about taking their time to ensure your things aren't scuffed, scratched or damaged. I couldn't be happier with how things went. The crew worked their butts off, and at the end of a long day, they still had good attitudes. I highly recommend this company. From the initial estimate (which included a thorough walk through to inventory our items), to the final move, these guys were great. We had a 2 day pack and 3 day move, so it was a big job and they accurately estimated what it would take. It was evident that the crew of 4 guys for packing plus 1 extra for move days we had worked well together. They were friendly and courteous and extremely hard workers. No one was standing around watching. If I had any suggestions for improvement it would just be to more specific with what is in boxes. Some guys were better at labeling than others. I've never had someone pack for me and am not use to not knowing exactly what is in each box. Hopefully I am not moving again anytime soon, but if I am, they will get my business! read more

Don't use these guys unless you want a surprise. My bill for the move was $400.00 more than what I was quoted. The movers started out fine and then got slower and slower. When it was time for us to pay they told me that it was $400.00 more than they had quoted and that this happens all the time!!!! WHAT?? I called the office the next day to complain and I was yelled at and told that we had lied about the amount of stuff we had and that we must have lied about the new place having stairs. Absolutely the best moving experience ever!! Remember when you used to rent a truck and you and your friends would work hard all day but you were laughing and having a good time? Well, that's what these folks are like. The day of the move our moving van was hit by a Metrobus on the way to our house, but ABC called us immediately and let us know they had an alternate truck and crew on the way to us. Then they sent another truck and another guy about an hour after that. Nice handling of the situation - they are awesome. The move went great - they worked hard all day and had us moved in by the evening. They protected all of our stuff, took care to protect both houses from damage, and went out of their way to make sure everything was placed just where we wanted it. We just completed an "Austin to storage (for a month) to Austin" move with ABC Longhorn Moving company and they could not have been more professional, friendly and so careful with our belongings and with the walls/floors of our new home. Everything arrived safe and sound with nothing broken or damaged. And they unwrapped and setup our furniture just where we wanted it and then took the wrappings and empty boxes with them. Do NOT let these people anywhere near you or your stuff. I had a LOT of furniture and boxes to move from one third floor apartment to another. I accurately itemized everything they were to move, including dimensions of each piece of furniture. They told me moving this wouldn't be a problem at all over the phone, they didn't need to come out to give the estimate, etc. The guys show up and were pretty nice at first. They worked quickly and did a great job...for awhile. I wasn't impressed with them dragging some of my nice, solid wood furniture across concrete, but okay - I can deal. So we get to my new apartment. Magically, they decide the bookshelf, tv armoire and cabinet aren't going to make the stairs. Even though these stairs were the same as my last place! So they refuse to move it. They called the owner, talked with him and then he asked to speak with me. While freaking out on the inside, I put on my problem solver persona and tried to find out why they wouldn't move the furniture. The owner said that I had lied about the furniture size. WHA??? Although I kept my cool, I continued to insist, nicely, that I had been very up front about the measurements and again stated that they needed to move the furniture. And then, the demon came out. The owner lost it. I mean, went postal. Between his strings of solid cursing at me, he said that his movers would either leave me with the furniture at the base of the stairs or that they would bring it back to his storage area (and charge me extra). Not wanting to give this man or his shady company another minute, I was able to reach a friend who had a space where I could store my stuff. When the minion movers told the owner what the plan was, he asked to talk to me again and insisted I stop by a bank to get more money out "so I wouldn't cancel the check" (sounded like this wasn't this dude's first rodeo). I did all that this evil company requested so they would release my stuff. After seeing it unloaded at my friends, I found tons of scratches at the bottom of the stuff and even a couple of spots where the wood was smashed in. I got another moving company to finish the job these lame-os from Longhorn wouldn't finish (I think Minor Moving). They were wonderful, did a great job and had all the pieces up the stairs within minutes. I told them my story with Longhorn; they said there was no excuse for that - that these pieces of furniture made the stairs with ease. I have never felt so helpless and cheated and tricked! I called the BBB and found out this company has the lowest possible rating and was being investigated. Learn from my mistake AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! read more

This company find out we sold one of our office space and began calling us 3 times a day to pretend they are some government agency to collect company data. They asked all kind of questions to find out when we will be moving, how many people.. etc etc and some very intrusive questions. When we tell them not to call back.. they call back 3 times per day and pretend to be another company (yet, caller ID are the same or will show anonymous). We repeatedly asking them to remove us from calling and email list, but they don't seem to care. Honestly, do you think anyone would do business with company like that?!? This company has no ethic or common decency, I can only imagine how they scam their customers. read more

Awesomely supportive and friendly movers! I was recently in charge of moving my office from downtown Austin to the north Lamar area. Before settling on Longhorn, I contacted at least 8 moving companies. ABC Longhorn was one of the few that even bothered to get back to me, and they did so in a very timely (and friendly!) manner. They answered all of my questions promptly and thoroughly and were the only company to send out a representative to look at our furniture and explain the move process in person. Longhorn was also able to meet our property owner's very strict requirements for insurance, move times, etc., and they handled the property owner's approval process with very little involvement required on my part. The level of support they provide is amazing. I have to admit, I was a mess of a customer. I had to reschedule our move twice, on a very short timeline, because of delays with the contractors at our new office. The folks at Longhorn (Scott, Jessica, and especially Mary) saved my sanity. They were flexible, kept in touch almost daily, and were so cheerful and reassuring. I hope you won't need to put them through the ringer like I did, but if you do have a complicated move, know that these guys will have your back! The moving guys were also great. They arrived on time and were super efficient, which I appreciated, because we had to resort to a nighttime move (due to the building owner's requirements and our timeline). I would definitely use Longhorn in the future! Final note: another cool thing about Longhorn is their use of Bungo Boxes, a reusable packing crate system. I had never used them before, but they are awesome. The fact that Longhorn will take care of scheduling delivery and pickup of the Bungo Boxes makes it that much easier. ABC longhorn moving in Austin. Uodate: to clarify. I did the move for my mom. The boxes were all packed. The items were broje because the movers roughly handled the boxes and staxked them unevenly in their (movers box) i called the company that day. My mother was not aware of the additional broken items besides the couch until she came home three weeks later and unpacked. We called the movers right away and told them. This is when I was told they would not do anything and there was nothing I could do about it. It wasn't just the broken tv and items, it was also the way the OWNER talked to me about it and the attitude of the movers during the move. This is the worst company in Austin by my opinion based on how they and there staff treat customers and by the way they try to deny any blame for awful service and poor practices. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They charge for three guys, one is not expected to move a box. You pay full price but he's ok to Facebook the whole time. If they break your stuff they will tell you that it was already broke and if it wasn't there is nothing they can or will do. Then the owner straight told me that there is nothing I can do about it.. The movers were rude to us and spent alot of time talking in back room and playing phone games. Also they jam everything into a huge moving box to the point the boxes smash. I commented to the movers and they saif thats how they are trained and if anything is broke to report it to the owner. I also witnessed them throw boxes they feel are light. Alot of broken glass, dishes, a TV, our couch etc. When I told them about the attitude and broken stuff the owner called me a liar. I was not rude, i didnt yell and i told her i just wanted her to know how i was treated. Worked with three movers before and this company is really sketchy, and the owner is unprofessional and rude. I engaged this company in a two-tiered move, including a move outside the city. We used the same guys both times. They were prompt, efficient, and friendly, and handled everything carefully. Mary, the owner, personally handled the move for me, and she was courteous and conscientious, asked questions, and filled me in completely on what would happen and what my rights and responsibilities were. The out of town portion was a little expensive, but it was explained to me that the price of diesel was one factor, and I didn't make an issue of it.
