I can't say enough good things about this company. We have used their services twice now and they have been fantastic both times. They showed up on time this morning with a large crew and two trucks and they got the move done within a couple of hours. We are having our floors redone so they moved our downstairs furniture to a storage facility, and I have scheduled them to come move our stuff back when the construction is finished. The workers are polite, friendly and professional, and so amazingly fast. They even moved our piano up the stairs which we have been wanting to get done. They are amazing!!! Also, the final bill came in well under the quote they gave us. Very satisfied, highly recommended Square Cow!

They want to settle out because it's a $4000 refrigerator. They make you take them to court to get your money. I went to BNI with the owners. They preached customer service. They do not represent it. Do NOT use this company. They aren't the same company your friends gave used in the past. It's all about the profits. Screw the customer. We only lost food once because the door didn't close properly. We are more vigilant in checking it now, but with the kids....it's been a walk since we were told the check request went in. I would love to get an update on that.

Clowns didn't try to contact me. I would definitely stay away from this business Goto bbb.org and look up the number of complaints and how the company does not do anything reasonable to pay for damages. They also make you sign a waiver when you want to file a claim, but you need to accept their 60 cents per pound damage claim amount. So they can do whatever you want to your house and things without recourse. Run away.

Once I hit my wits end with this company and posted my first review with pictures, I finally started to get some help from Square Cow. Rebecca called me about my review and wanted to try and make things right. She offered to have Square Cow replace my most damaged piece (a bed) and I accepted her offer - and she asked if I'd update my Yelp review, so here I am. Rebecca was prompt in ordering the piece, easy to work with and sent me all info for receipt, tracking, delivery, etc. So at the end of the day, Square Cow did the right thing and sent me a new $747.16 bed. I do still feel that I didn't get a $11k service at the end of the day. I think they need to tighten up their processes and procedures if they want to compete in a white glove door to door moving market. I appreciate Rebecca's help by actually addressing my dissatisfaction and getting some sort of resolution.

Highest recommendations for SquareCow. Extremely careful, prepared and courteous movers. Not one item was broken after our move. It was worth every cent. After they were almost finished moving everything into our new apartment, we learned that the carpet needed a comprehensive carpet treatment. We asked SquareCow to move all the boxes ONCE AGAIN off the carpet and into non-carpeted areas. They did just as we asked, no problem, even though it took an hour longer to move than anticipated. Thank you for being a bright spot in our moving experience!

3 guys showed up and they moved everything really fast. They worked non stop and were considerate of my walls and items. A non profit sent them to collect furniture we were donating and I was astonished at their ability to move the pieces out and take such good care of them. They packed their box truck to the gills and would have taken more had they had enough room. read more

Hard to decide where to begin. Long story short, they grossly underestimated the time needed to move us. Not sure if this was accidental though, as I now believe it to be part of their business plan. Bid low and charge high. They had to return for an unexpected second day. The movers that day were beyond reckless, damaging a large amount of our property. After 2 months they ended up providing a $200 credit after damaging more than $4k worth of items. Read the other reviews! They do this over and over! I have filed a complaint with the BBB, as their "miscalculations" and "refund process" actually seem to be a part of their business model. RUN AWAY! read more

Not really a fan at all. The actual movers were good so not on the labor. The rest of it is just a money making racket, so don't let them fool you talking about service. It's about money and racking up charges. Nickle and dime charges, if you have things in storage they make you pay charges to get into the unit to get something out. I wish I hadn't used them at all, if I had it to do over I would look elsewhere. So any choice to you want to make, they're going to charge you some BS fee. Again, not a fan! read more

We would not use Square Cow movers again. The 3 men showed up about an hour late. They took several breaks and didn't fill the truck up the first load. A couple of things arrived to the new place broken but it is understandable. While they were in our home, one of them was alone upstairs a noticeable amount of time. While we were unpacking we realized a bottle of very expensive perfume was missing. I notified the manager and filled out a claim form. That was a month and an half ago and I haven't heard back from anyone. read more
These guys were outstanding. We are moving to the Austin Texas area & drove most our house to be stored. The Square Cow team of Demarkus, Brehon, Dakota & William were outstanding in helping us move our things into storage. They were professional, quick careful & fun to work with. I highly recommend them read more

I recently used Square Cow to move furniture for me. During the move the crew broke a piece of glass that belonged to my curio cabinet. I received a quote of $238.00 to replace. Square Cow is paying us 5.40. I didn't expect full coverage but this is unacceptable. I will never use this company again. read more

Made a move using square cow movers. The sales rep was very nice and helpful. It was between this company and another a bit cheaper. I should have used the cheaper company. First off I give thumbs up to the reminders and on time the team was. I was clear to the company about the size of the home they would be moving and the amount of boxes they would we had. They said they would bring 3-6 movers with two trucks. That was great. When the movers arrived (on time) they were courteous. They took care when moving my things. That was the end of the positive. The 5 men that arrived were good when they worked. But they all took many many breaks together and clowned around too much, instead of taking a break separate and getting work done. This job with 5 men was to take at the most 5-6 hours and that would be the end of it. But it took them 12 hours. The cost doubled from my quote. I was fuming. They asked for a review and I let them know what happened. They contacted me immediately of course. I told they there was no way I'd recommend them. I was expecting some kind of compensation for the overpricing and laziness on the crew's part but nothing was offered. I did find a ripped cover from a piece of furniture which they offered to comp us for but that wasn't even worth my time! Do not use them! read more

Overall the phone transaction went well. Two guys showed up and started to load the truck. One guy was on charge of disconnecting the washer and dryer, he never put the secure bolts in to stable the drum. He only did AFTER I told him to do so and was already loaded in the truck. He said they usually don't put them on because the owners of the machines can't seem to loosen them up. Overall I was pretty bummed with the moving experience. My apt was 711 sq.ft. and one bedroom on the second floor. Took them well over 3 hrs to move my things. read more

As of 7/14/25 i still have not gotten my refund back, I have been working with Justin the operations manager since July 1st. We had made the agreement for the tip paid and the 30 min overage charge to be credited back to me. Back story: on June 27th, I had a move, the team was very slow from the move out address, my friend had to help them move things into the truck. When we got to the move out address the team broke my plates, Justin told me he would send me a claim form and i have not gotten that to this day. I had three movers, many times i caught them sitting down. I have cerebral palsy i had to hire someone to move my stuff because the team put my bed frame in the bed and my bathroom, I asked them to put my bookshelf on the wall i found it in the middle of the floor. Having a disability it was very hard to pay movers, and still having to pay someone to move what the movers did not move, and on today 7/14/25; i still have received the payment we discussed as a resolution to the concerns. read more

We did a cross state move with square cows at a fixed rate and paid over $3k for the move. Following the move, my husband contacted the company regarding a small case that was located in his nightstand (which was Saran wrapped closed during the move) but found unwrapped with the top drawer slightly ajar, containing $400 in cash that was missing. He emptied the entire dresser looking for it. When he contacted the company, they said they didn't hear anything on truck recordings about stealing and the terms in the contract specified not moving cash. we explained he had planned to grab it before the move but the guys had already wrapped it up to move so he didn't want to bother them. Square Cow stated we could file a police report and they would cooperate. we decided not to waste valuable police time over that amount. We would have expected though considering the amount we paid plus tip that we would have received much better customer service. There was also some items that got damaged and items where we asked them to put something in one place and they dropped it off somewhere else. Given everything, we would not use them again. read more

I had to do two moves within a couple weeks of each other. I had to have my things moved to a storage unit in another city, three units were needed. The lead, Kendall Jackson, was careful to show me my garage tools and tool boxes and anything that couldn't be boxes were going on the truck. padding with care. I was so comfortable that my belongings were in good hands with Kendall and his crew. Everything was handled carefully I was so pleased. You could tell the crew had tremendous respect for their lead's and work ethic. I had rented three storage units, to the tune of $1,000/month to for everything. Kendall perused everything, thought a bit after looking at my belongings and said I wouldn't need the third unit, guaranteed. He made certain any items that couldn't be boxed were shown to me and pointed out in the storage units. Kendall was careful to place items so everything got into two units. Everything was carefully placed. These guys were amazing. I left feeling so confident I made a good choice. He toured me around the inside of the truck to make certain nothing was left behind. I don't have expensive belongings but many sentimental items and what I do have we worked hard for. Everything was intact, no damages. Side note: i locked my keys in my car. Kendal said not to worry, he'd handle it. He called the dealership while another crew member called my insurance company to arrange the same. They took care of the whole affair of getting a locksmith to come out. They reassured me that would not leave until they knew I was safely back in my car and on my way home. They could have left at 2pm but waited two hours until a locksmith came and opened my car. I was at ease when it was time to load uo to mive to my new residence my two to my new residence. These people were and courteous but movung7 too fast. One guy Kelly throwing up in my sink and yard. Heavy things were placed into fragile boxes and stacked so high I couldn't reach them. It seemed they wanted to finish fast and - the condition of a lot of my furniture confirmed it. There s damaged furniture and ALK my tools, bixes and equipment were missing. Items were found broken and in the nearby bushes. I want offered to tour the truck. I was left with unusable dining tables and boxes higher than I could reach - I'm only 5ft all. One employee insisted I call to help me final the work for a fee. . I was told I could only claim 60¢ a pound and may be asked for receipts! Who keeps all the receipts for these things! It's been two months and I haven't heard from the "claims department". I'll never use them again, recommend them and am considering small claims court. If I hadn't to move again (gosh I so hope not) , I going to spend the extra money the liberty to hire Bekins, Allied or some other national company that inventory everything. I'm being ignored now. I expected such. Frankly, I think the 5 star ratings and flurry of love for the company are bogus. I've talked to a couple of employees from the first move and they they've left because of these very things. Beware. Their prices are good but there's a little info thrown in quietly mention they can add extra fees for different things. A scam. I'll never get my things back My review isn't meant to be spiteful, just factual. read more

I would give them zero stars if I was able too. We had used square cow about 8 years ago and the experience was great. This last round was horrid. Aside from the damage, which they reimbursed us for, the movers stole two Louis Vuitton bags from me. Outside of the bags being expensive, I was heartbroken because my father had given those two me at really important stages of my life. They were each between 10-20 years old. My Dad passed away three years ago and now they're gone. I hope those jerks get a big load of bad karma dumped on them. Square Cow told us we had to call the cops and resolved themselves from all guilt. We will NEVER EVER use square cow again. read more

After a long day, I can gladly say, Square Cow redeemed themselves and made things right. Later in the evening, we received a phone call from the manager of the office down south to discuss what had happened and he had apologized for the miscommunication. He was able to reschedule our appointment for the next morning during lunch so we didn't need to worry about taking off work. The three guys ( Aaron, Danny, Les) were able to move my girlfriend out of her apartment faster then I could have ever imagined. They completely cleared out the place in less than an hour. The whole time, they were incredibly friendly and efficient. The new apartment was only about 5-10 mins away and next thing she noticed, they were done. The whole move took about 2 hours and was stress free. Thank you to the Square Cow team for fixing the mistake from the day before and keeping your customers happy. read more

Super disappointed. This company came highly recommended by our neighbors. We arranged our schedule based on the email that was sent to us and that was also discussed on the phone. We were quoted a time of services between 2pm to 7pm. This is our moving day and we are left without movers because we receive a phone call advising us that the movers wanted to come now, early, at 11am. We are not available for the movers to come since we had arranged our schedule to be available in the afternoon. The Square Cow associate who contacted us claimed that we committed to a different time even though it is clearly stated in our email (see attachment). The man basically stated that he didn't believe us and blamed us for the time discrepancy. The proof is black and white here. Now we are scrambling to find a moving company to help us. I would suggest finding a more reliable company who will also be professional during conflicts that come up and that will make you feel valued and not try to put blame when the proof is clear. read more

Requested service to help my grandparents move large furniture into a pod we bought. Our grandparents are unable to move such large items due to of course lacking strength, my parents and I are unable to move these items because we too are overworked and needed extra help. My mother lent our EXPENSIVE blankets to protect the furniture and other boxes, ONLY TO FIND that the people WE TRUSTED with OUR MONEY had stolen every single blanket we owned and lent to help out our family. Shame on you for taking advantage of my older family and taking away what little we have to lend to them and to help out. I hope this serves as a lesson to anyone who hires these people to keep your guard up and record everything. Good riddance. read more

Worst moving experience I have ever had! I was in the hospital for an organ transplant, but my lease was ending and i had to move. I contacted Square Cow and they were GREAT on the phone. I explained that I needed my entire house packed up and moved on a precise day. They said that was no problem and they would take special care given the fact that I was hospitalized. 2 days before the scheduled move, they call my wife and tell her that they have a scheduling problem and they are coming THAT DAY. She explains that she isn't ready for them and they tell here that if they can't come that day, the deal is off. It is too late to schedule anyone else, so we have to let them come and start packing. They arrive, and right when one of the packers comes through our door he yells, "Aw F* C& no!" which did not give my wife much confidence. She called the company to talk to them about this and was told once again, if you don't like it, call someone else. They threw everything in boxes with no regard for safety or fragile items. Most of my tools were stolen. So many things were broken, we almost couldn't count them all. Their breakage sheet allows for three items. We were told we could not create our own claim sheet beyond what theirs allowed for. We ended up losing $18,000 worth of our stuff to theft and breakage and were told that's too bad. They did not put any boxes in the rooms they were labeled for. 80% just got stuck in the garage. My wife was left to move them into the house by herself. I cannot warn you enough DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are terrible and they realize that they are in control if you absolutely have to move on a certain day. They completely took advantage of us and stole so many of our valuables. STAY AWAY!!! read more

Move was initially estimated to take 3-4 hours and at most 700 dollars and it ended up taking 5-6. Didn't seem like Covid procédures were setup or communicated properly. Even wearing gloves would of given at least some kind of indication of an attempt to have a procedure at all. It just seemed like the company didn't have any guidelines or communication in place. Some of the workers had physical symptoms that would make it difficult to wear a mask. In those cases the company should of been prepared to have different workers that would be able to have Covid procedures well executed. On top of this, instead of a 600 move I ended up with close to double that by the end. This is not what was expected and I even tried to anticipate the move by moving much of the items myself prior. We had previous moves with a similar amount of things using Einstein movers that would take them at most 3 hours and the bill never topped 600 dollars. Highly recommend Einstein's over this company. read more

If your belongings mean nothing to you, use these guys. If you don't care about having your most prized possessions destroyed, call em up. If you enjoy paying for insurance only to get completely jerked around, please be sure to say hi for me. An update as of today. 9/21 Apparently the owners of Square Cow are not interested in seeing reviews that are critical or negative. So now they've decided that because we've chosen to 'go public' they are going to drag their feet and ignore their responsibilities to do the right thing. This isn't the first time we've had problems with them. That's why we foolishly paid $200 for their insurance coverage so we wouldn't have to deal with their view of how things work. Probably should have hired someone else and assumed our first experience was their SOP. The attitude starts at the top with this company. They have NO concept of taking care of their customers. For a small business in a highly competitive industry the amount of bureaucracy they impose on customers is astonishing. Their lead on our move and a partner moved the item before anything else was touched then left in a hallway the entire time. And in spite of our pleadings, they managed to 'hit a wall'. They knew immediately the glass shattered. Yet they deferred from moving it into our new home until the very end....at the end saying I think we hit a wall so you may want to unwrap it and check. They deliberately held off because they knew we would be furious and they didn't want to deal with it until they left. The owner sees nothing wrong with that. He doesn't like being told he's got a problem. He doesn't want to do whatever it takes to resolve a problem especially if you complain about his company. Instead he likes to threaten the customer by saying he's just going to drag his feet since I'm being so difficult and unreasonable. So maybe one bad post on Yelp won't be a big deal to him. Maybe his performance is the same as everybody else in Austin that does what he does. Sounds like they like to scan any other posts you may have before they decide how to deal with you. But they don't think one voice matters. You have PLENTY of options here to take care of your stuff. You would be wise to shop around. read more

Words cannot express how disappointed I am with these movers. I went with them after several positive reviews. They were NOT the least expensive (by far), but my furniture is important to me and I figured it was worth the extra cost. To start with, the crew that loaded our furniture took HOURS longer than we were told. I understand that happens, so I let it go. However, when we left we found trash, cigarette butts, empty Gatorade bottles, and many other things thrown in our driveway. We had to clean up after them. Lovely. Somehow in the process of packing and moving, our TV stand and parts to my daughter's bunk bed were lost. This meant we had to buy a new stand and hire a company to come out and put the beds together, which was disappointing to say the least and resulted in my daughter sleeping on the couch for a few days until she had a bed. Awesome. The real fun started when our items were delivered to our new home after being in storage for 2 months. A 100 year old China cabinet? Broken! An antique bed? Yep, broken too. And, then they started unloading items that AREN'T EVEN OURS. We have 0 confidence that we got all of our stuff, because most likely some of it went somewhere else. We also have 0 confidence that this is the end of the broken items. We paid for the extra insurance, but some things are irreplaceable. Thank you Square Cow for an absolutely awful experience and ruining several priceless items. By the way, if you used Square Cow and have some things that aren't yours, let me know--and I'll do the same! :) read more

Instead of taking the glass off the base of a 400 pound table, which involves 4 screws, two of their team decided it would be easier to carry it by lifting from the ends. Needless to say, glass was shattered, and their insurance only pays you by the pound of the damaged item regardless of their negligence, costing me thousands of dollars. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! Forget the fact that caused over 1k in damages to my brand new home (chunks out of my door / frame, gashes and scratches out of my brand new hard wood floor, damages to my personal items (also not reassembled correctly), but what is worse is their excuse for customer service. Absolutely terrible. This was the THIRD time I have used them and the first two experiences were nowhere near this catastrophe. Their movers knew they had an issue with their dolly and they STILL chose to use it and it carved up my floors. No excuse for this negligence. I am beyond disappointed and their owner called me to "try and make it right" (and still made me pay for the move!!!!) and just clearly is not in touch with his customers / his business. Way to ruin our first home experience Square Cow. read more

We had a really bad experience with the movers. They didn't want to carry our couch down three flights of stairs even though I had asked about this when I booked them. They tried to take it apart for over an hour and ended up breaking it then finally carried it down. They got lost on the way to our apartment costing us an additional 45 minutes in pay and lost in finding the house another additional 45 minutes in pay. Both addresses were on google maps. Almost all our furniture was banged up and dinged and a few spots on the door frames were dinged. I read such positive reviews Of the company but was very disappointed and over charged based on them getting lost. read more

The movers themself were very nice. They worked really fast (up until the piano)and nothing was broken. On the down side . The sales person never returned any of our calls, even though she said she would be available to us. If you are moving a piano these aren't the guys. We became really concerned when they had no idea how to take it apart. Then they had no idea how to put it back the way they took it apart. They sent a second crew to try and fix it, we thought it was fixed until my husband tried playing it that night. We will pay the extra money to have a professional fix it. It is to valuable to have them say they know what their doing , when they don't. A football of personal value went missing. The drivers insisted they put it in the garage. We spent two days looking for it in the garage. It was found as I was doing gardening in the middle of a bush in the yard. Never again! read more

I had this company move my items to my new address. In the process of moving my vanity, which is more than expensive might I add, one of the movers wasn't listening to the other directing him on how to lift it into the truck. It got damaged and immediately I was told about it and I filed a claim. I appreciate the honest that's the only reason why I gave two stars. It would be a 1 due to the fact that the staff in the claims department didn't do their due diligence in contacting the company I got the item from, mind you they had an email of the price of everything, and decided to have someone text me to repair, which is beyond repair, and send me a check that is not even half the amount of the item. I am extremely pissed off and disappointed in the lack of effort to make the situation right. I will be showing up to the office this coming Monday to make sure this gets taking care of myself. I've been very nice about the situation and just feel like if you break it you buy it or at least replace it . As well as I will be contacting someone to sue this place for this issue. read more

This 5 star rating has nothing to do with the back office or logistics of this company. It has everything to do with the tireless efforts of a hard working crew who moved me from 6PM til 11PM. Yes, I wrote PM. Danny, Darryl, and Austin were awesome and if you have an opportunity to work with these guys, you won't be disappointed. They were respectful, polite, and never made mention of how tired they must have been with such a late move. But now for the disappointing part; I called over a week before my move and reserved Square Cow Moovers to move me from my home in Cedar Park to Georgetown. It's a partial move and was told to expect 5 hours with travel time. I was also told a window of 10AM to 8PM. BUYER BE WARE. This means they can come anytime between 10AM and 8PM to start your move. This was pretty glossed over (in my opinion) when scheduling and I thought nothing of it, until the move day. By 12:30PM, the day of the move, I called to see what the status would be as I needed to run a quick errand. I was told that I was going to be the very next move they would give me a call 30-40 minutes before they arrive to move me and that it was highly unusual for the moves to be really late...Ok not a problem...I'm thinking.... so go run a quick errand and get back to the house to wait. At 2:30PM I receive a call from whom I guess is the manager and he stated they have had a couple large moves, but rest assured I was the very next move. So I'm thinking okay, they will be here around 3:30 or 4PM and we'll be done around 9PM at the latest... But then 3:30 came with no phone call, so I called the office to find out what's going on. The representative I spoke with couldn't get ahold of the manager to find out what the "real" window was looking like. So, knowing I'm thoroughly upset, she offers a small discount for the move which I accept. I, then, decide I'm going to call around and see if there is anyone who may be available to move me this weekend, but alas it's busy and there isn't. I call at 4:55PM and get voicemail. Then again around 5:30PM and once again, no one has any information. So there I sat, really not wanting to move in the dark, but waiting and now wondering if the crew that comes to move me will even have the energy to do one more move. Thank God they did, but they weren't able to arrive before 6:15PM due to a prior move that took place right before. Discerning from the information I received from calling the main offices, it was clear that this crew had been working since around 8AM and had to be exhausted already. As stated above, they never complained once, said anything about the prior move, and gave me the same care they probably gave the prior client. My issue is with the logistics which squarely falls on the management of Square Cow. I'm sure my new neighbors didn't want to hear me moving in after 8PM. I'm sure the moving crew were exhausted, and I know my nerves were fried trying to figure out if this was really going to happen. Square Cow management needs to watch this to remain relevant in the future. Customers don't want to move at 9, 10, or 11PM at night. If the prior move was going to be a big one, maybe suck it up as a company, and don't offer the "First Truck In" move as they did. That would have caused me more trouble initially, but I wouldn't be a frustrated customer. read more

Howdy Kristin,…
We hired Square Cow Movers to unload our household belongings from a cross country moving trailer. They sent out a three person crew as we agreed and the charges were all in-line with what we agreed to. The team was extremely professional and diligent in getting the project completed. There was zero damage to our goods or our home. I was very impressed with them and they represented the company very well. Will use them again for our moving needs. read more

I reached out to Sqaure Cow movers at the end of last week and they were able to fit me in and help me in a pinch. The guys they sent out were absolutely awesome! They were accommodating, every answer was yes sir or no sir and their willingness to help was refreshing. If I could give them six stars I would. The pricing is right where it needs to be in the service exceeded my expectations. I will definitely use them again and refer them to any of my friends. read more

My credit card information was stolen and used a few hours after my move. Suspects claiming to be movers (hotel employees recall of check-in) said that their boss was putting them up for the night. Hence, the reason why the credit card wasn't present. Two hotel rooms were booked conveniently close to Square Cow Movers HQ. Two more hotel bookings were attempted, but I got a call from the online hotel booking company who wanted to verify the hotel purchases. In total, close to $1,900 was initially put on my card on the same night of my move. When I took a look at my invoice a few days later, one or two of my signatures and initials were forged and that's how I believe my credit card information was kept on an Ipad screen to be captured later. Now lets talk about the move itself. The two movers arrived, checked out my belongings, stepped outside to talk, stepped back in, and informed me that they left their dollies at the last move and have to go back. They ended up being gone for 45 mins to an hour. While driving to my new place, I pulled in front of them while taking my exit from the freeway. A 7-11 is on the way. I noticed that they weren't behind me anymore and I ended up waiting 15 more minutes for them at my new place. The employee who assisted with the payment process was holding a 7-11 cup while doing so. While handling a roadie case of mine, one of the movers said, "Something special in there?". One of the drivers was not wearing a mask during the move and during our interaction. When it was time to pay, only one worker was present. He pulled out an Ipad and told me to fill out a form that was supposed to be filled out before loading the truck. He said he skipped it to save time. He told me to sign and initial a couple of places. He then went to a payment section where he took off 30 minutes for having to go back for the dollies. What about that other 30-45 minutes not accounted for? Honestly, I looked past this in the moment, because my bill was an hour cheaper than my quote. He asked for my payment and I handed him my credit card and a $60 tip. He told me the transaction was complete. I remember feeling odd in the moment, because I didn't do a final signature and/or he didn't mention anything about a receipt. Square Cow management pretended to care, but never actually did anything to help, quite the opposite. I detailed in an email how they could help out with this issue. I also asked for compensation, since I just moved into a new place and had my sense of security stripped from me and was in a bad place for a few days. I feared the drivers would come back. Their Austin manager reached out and explained in all this detail why they weren't going to compensate me, never once following through with the help that I requested from them. Didn't even offer to comp my move. They were siding with their employees and not the victim. At the start of my communication with Square Cow about this incident, an employee said that the drivers would be pulled from the schedule. Are the drivers back on the schedule now? For anyone's sake, I hope not. read more
I first used Square Cow a year ago based on yelp recommendations of 2 friends. Wednesday was my second time using Square Cow and it confirms that they are the best moving company I've ever used. They were efficient, professional and friendly from the first phone call, to the confirmation and culminating with the movers. Les, Danny & Ulisis did an amazing job and showed a lot of patience as I figured my new furniture layout. I will definitely use them again in the future. Cheers! read more

Quoted $4000 to move two arcade games, pinball machine and an air hockey from Austin to Houston. This was an 8-hour job! A team of 2 guys could do the move... 1 pick up, 3 hour drive to Houston, 1 hour delivery, 3 hour drive back to Austin. 8 hours and $100 in gas. The hour pick up and delivery was generous as the arcade games are downstairs and have wheels on them. Called 3 Man Movers and got the job done for $1300. I had previously used Square Cow a few years ago and they did a good job. However, they have gotten crazy expensive. read more

History
Established in 2007.
Back in 2007 our entire family made the decision to move to Texas. Think of it as a great migration. We packed up everything (including the pasture), buckled in the kids (because it's the law) and before we knew it we were settled in. Wade, Wayne and Derek, considered the three bulls of the herd, are all business bovines. Together we came up with a plan to keep our fields green. Knowing full well how hard it was to get our families and belongings to Texas, we had a pretty good idea about what we could do to support the herd. Moving to Texas was an experience and not an easy one. So, we developed the sacred Art of Mooving. No, that's not spelled wrong. We know what we're about, we're college grads after all.

On June, 16th 2018 Square Cow Movers performed my move into a new house in South-East Austin from a 2-bedroom apartment in North-West Austin. It was the worst experience I ever had with movers. Never in my life I'll use them again, and won't recommend to anyone else to use their services. The overall quality of the work was far below my expectations. None of the furniture except one mirror was wrapped in blankets or any other material as I was promised. No mattresses were packed in mattress bags as I had asked. They were thrown on the dirty floor of the truck as is. Nor was I provided any packing material for my monitor (it traveled on laps of one of the movers), or any blankets to protect the hard wood floor in the new house. All that resulted in multiple damages to my property: 1) One of ceramic tiles of my new patio table was broken. As a result I had to replace all the ceramic tiles. I never asked the movers to touch that table (it was not obliged for move), they did it without asking me. 2) The office desk was damaged during the move. Its leg was detached from the desk, and the hardware was lost. As for now the desk fells apart each time you try to lift it a bit, and it is unsafe to use it anymore. Also its leg was broken when the movers "occasionally hit the wall with it". 3) The corners of a nightstand, a dresser, and a queen bed from my bedroom set are scratched. This set is only one year old, but now it looks as being owned for ages. 4) The bunk bed has multiple scratches on its posts. Part of the screws from it are lost. 5) I now have multiple prints and scratches on the ceilings, the walls, and door jambs in my brand new just built house. That is because the movers hit the doors, the walls, and the ceiling with furniture multiple times. We asked them to be more careful, but were ignored. As a result I now have to spend time painting the walls in the house. It took the movers ridiculously long time of almost 3 hours to disassemble and reassemble the bunk bed. The Rooms to Go Furniture staff where this bed was bought a year ago assembled it in just 20 minutes. I don't understand why I have to pay for incompetence of the movers who cannot figure out how to disassemble the furniture I have. Even more, after I have already sent my claim to Square Cows, I discovered by chance that the movers lost half of the screws from the upper part of the bed, so it was not safe to use anymore. These screws are not standard, and I am still waiting for a replacement from Rooms to Go not being able to use the bunk bed! The other thing they had to assemble was my queen bed. After the movers have finished the assembly I discovered that they had forgotten to screw the base of the bed. That was discovered by chance by stepping with bare foot on the screws from my bed which were thrown on thick carpet where they got lost. That was absolutely inappropriate! I have two small kids, and the movers put their lives at a risk by leaving on the floor such small parts which could get lost in the carpet, and be swollen easily afterwards! Not even mentioning the fact that the same night we could fall on the floor from our bed without a base being fixed with screws. All the move took much more time than expected. Starting with the fact that the movers arrived an hour and a half later because of a mistake in my address (luckily I wasn't charged for that), and keeping in mind that I had only some furniture to move, and even less things than described in the contract. The apartment was perfectly prepared for our move out. Everything was packed by the time of their arrival. There was a need to disassemble only two pieces of furniture. The traffic was also fine that day. With all written above I believe that all the process could be finished in no more than 5 hours, but not in 7, 5 hours as it turned out. I had a strong feeling that the movers did their work extremely slow just because I paid for their time, and not for their labor. After I moved in I claimed the business. To send a claim is a pain! You have to print out your claim letter along with all the pictures of the damaged items and to send them by USPS, because they don't accept claims via e-mail or fax. The process of working with the claim can officially take up to 3 months, and I had to wait almost that long to get my compensation. The amount of money I've got for all the damages to my furniture was $190, because I refused to buy the additional insurance before the move. But even if I had bought the insurance I won't get much more (my property was not that expensive, and the price of the insurance and my own liability made it all senseless). I got no compensation for the additional hours to complete the move, nor for the damages to my house walls and doors. Keeping in mind how much money and time I spent for the move and for fixing all the damages after it I could easily throw away all my old furniture, and buy all new furniture for my house for almost the same price. read more

I never believe reviews... but please believe mine!!! PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU ARE RESEARCHING MOVING COMPANIES!!! Please listen to our story!! When we first moved to Austin from Michigan, we had family help us. But, when making a move within the Austin area, we didn't have the luxury of having family here to help. So, our realtor told us to "just go on Craig's List! It's a bunch of college guys with side jobs! It's great and cheap!" So, we did. That was one of the BIGGEST MISTAKES of our lives! Let me remind you, I am NOT talking about Square Cow Movers right now! :) The Craig's List company was to charge us $45 an hour (too good to be true, right?), but little did I know in the small print of the contract I signed, it said they would shrink wrap everything that was wood or electronic. So, while I was all happy they were wrapping everything, little did I know they were charging me $75 per piece. When we pulled up to our new place, they handed us a $5,000 bill and showed me where I initialed that I knew about the charges. It was horrible. They wouldn't unlock and unload the truck until we gave them the cash. We talked them down to $2,000. They threw our stuff in the driveway, and left. I guess this is a common moving scam. My husband's banker told him the same thing happened to a single mother a week later- for $7,000! Horrible. Lesson learned- DO NOT USE CRAIG'S LIST TO FIND MOVERS!!! And, READ everything you sign!! So, about a year ago we had to move again. We were petrified to use movers- so scared we would get scammed again. However, with no close friends and family in town, we had to go with movers. I was so scared. I tried to research as much as I could, and went with Square Cow. I cried the morning of our move. I was so worried, as you can imagine. But... I was SO happy with our movers! The Square Cow team that moved us was great!! They answered all my questions, and let me be my anxious, questioning self! Anytime I tried to lift something or help, they said, "Ma'am, sit back and relax. That's our job!" I was so happy, and gave them a tip! :) Then, about 8 months later, the condo we were renting foreclosed. So, we had to move out. I had NO DOUBT in my mind who to use- My boys at Square Cow!! I asked for the same guys. However, one didn't work there anymore, and the other was already assigned to a job. So, I was bummed. However, when the team showed up, I was immediately put at ease! They ended up being even better than the first team! We were loading a U-Haul that we were going to drive ourselves from Austin, TX to Indiana. We had a 20 foot truck. The guys told us the truck was going to be too small. We basically said, "fit what you can, and we have to leave the rest." They knew we were in a bind. They spent so much extra time and care trying to fit all of our stuff! They were amazing! Every inch of that truck was full! We didn't have to leave too much behind! :) When we arrived in Indiana, the local "movers" that we hired to unload were HORRIBLE! We moved to a smaller town, so options were a bit slim. I missed my Square Cow guys!!! One of the movers had Homer Simpson pajama pants on! Really? Thanks for getting dressed up. And, they were so slow!! I was up on the truck handing them stuff to get the process moving! I think I did more work than they did! They were ridiculous. At one point, Mr. Simpson carried a chair leg into the apartment. A chair leg!!! Just a chair leg!!! So bad! Square Cow would have NEVER acted like that!! Next time I should fly some Square Cows in to help us!! Thanks for listening to our story. Avoid scams, and use reputable companies like Square Cow Movers!!!!!!! If you were keeping count, we have moved 4 times in 2 years. I now know a thing or two about moving. You get what you pay for, and use a company with a GOOD reputation!! Love you guys!!! PS- Josh in the office is great!! I am going to go see where else I can post this review!!! read more

Listen up, y'all. Good movers are hard to find. I've had movers break so many things over the course of my lifetime, it's ridiculous. But not these folks! I am SO impressed with Square Cow Movers. First of all, the people who answer the phone at Square Cow are incredibly friendly, helpful, and NICE to talk to. Have you ever called a moving company and, when they pick up the phone, gotten the feeling you've just interrupted them -- no matter what time you call? Like, not at lunchtime or during their snack break or whatever? With other movers, I always seem to reach a cranky person who I'm guessing is sweating away behind a dusty old desk in a sad, dingy, warehouse office somewhere. When I called Square Cow, on the other hand, the impression I got was of a busy, bustling workplace where people have fun and joke around with each other because they genuinely enjoy their jobs and like their coworkers. Terrific way to start things off! I only needed to move a refrigerator from a vacant house to my home, but it had to be ASAP, ideally on the same day I called. I was ready to be told one of three things: (1) they don't do that because it's such a small job, (2) sure they do it but they're booked until January or (3) they can make it happen for $$cha-billion-bucks$$. Instead, the friendly woman I spoke with laid some super-duper straightforward pricing on me and said she could get me booked for that afternoon. And the price was GREAT. Not too high, but not so low that I was, like, worried who'd show up to move my fridge. Ethan and Landon, whom I now think of as *my* moving guys, called 30 minutes before arrival, as promised. They rolled up in this giant truck, hopped out, and came into the house to get the refrigerator. I'd already pulled it away from the wall and turned off the water supply to the ice machine, but I didn't have the tool to unscrew the hose. But they did! Of course! They had the fridge all wrapped up, lickety-split. By the time they were done it looked like I was moving some sort of priceless ancient artifact. Or the body of an extraterrestrial destined for Area 51. I mean, it certainly didn't look like someone's hand-me-down refrigerator. (It's a NICE fridge, which is why I bothered to have it moved in the first place, but it's not brand new or anything.) They trucked on over to mi casa where my husband was waiting to oversee the other side of things. We live at the corner of No & Where, so they had to park in the road because our caliche drive is narrow and can get pretty muddy. My husband went out and was surprised to find that they were in a BIG truck that held just one thing: our fridge. Like I said, alien autopsy! They explained that they already had the truck out, so they just added our little job to the end of their day. They brought in the new (to me) fridge, and pulled out the old (not that old but pretty freaking sucky especially the dang ice maker) fridge. They muscled the old fridge out into the front hall where it will stay until it's ready to be moved again next month to its new location in a rental house we're buying. Maybe I'll put some Christmas lights on it so we can have a festive "hallway refrigerator." (Rather than those boring old garden-variety hallway refrigerators you see all the time.) Needless to say, we'll be calling Square Cow Movers -- and only Square Cow Movers! -- when we need to relocate that fridge. We'll be calling them for anything else we need to move that we can't, for whatever reason, move ourselves. Like the marble table in our atrium. That thing weighs a ton! It's probably going to stay right where it is, but if not? Hello Square Cow! Thanks again, phone-lady, Ethan, and Landon for being so awesome! Keep on keepin' on! read more

My family and my parents were making a huge move from Austin, TX to Vermont. We chose Square Cow because they promised a caring move. We wanted that small business experience. You know, when they really seem to be people and not just a corporate machine. Kenny Skadal, the salesman, was personable and fun, and he made our inventory. Went through and told us they'd pack up our stuff really well, item by item he assured us they'd be cared for. The day of the move came and we were so busy getting everything together that we could only check in periodically. Things seemed okay, everyone was in good spirits (even though they were working on Mother's Day...also a Sunday). Near the end we realized that everything wasn't going to fit. We told them which items we'd prefer to have, but they just ignored that and packed what they wanted. At the end our bikes and some other items were left behind...bummer number one. We brushed it off, just happy to be done. We arrived in Vermont awaiting our stuff. The guys driving the truck were a couple hours late because Square Cow didn't provide them with a safe route...or any route for that matter. They just had to figure it out with a TomTom, and this is the Appalachian Mountains vs. a Moving truck pulling a trailer. No fun I can imagine. So they're late, no biggie, not even bummer number two. It wasn't until they started unpacking our stuff that we realized what a mistake we'd made picking Square Cow. EVERY SINGLE PIECE of the furniture I had painstakingly picked out less than a year prior to this whole crappy experience was completely ruined. Our $1,000 Pottery Barn table was scuffed in multiple places, and a chunk is missing from one of the legs. The $100/pc dining chairs each have their own array of scuffs and chips. Our $500 Crate&Barrel TV cabinet is literally in shambles...the list goes on. I'm really not exaggerating when I say that EVERYTHING was damaged. It wasn't just about the money either, there were some damaged items that can't be replaced like my mom's antique rocking chair from her childhood. That covers bummers 2-7,000. Bummer 7,001 was that the two very nice, apologetic young men unloading us were just that-two men. Two men to unload two families' worth of stuff. In a rural cabin. Part of which was in the dark. Luckily my dad found his headlamp and loaned it to one of the guys, otherwise I'm not sure they would have been able to continue. It took them over 8 hours of heavy lifting to unload everything. We felt so bad for them that we had them leave some stuff downstairs that needed to go upstairs. I'm sure you've already figured out that it was us that did that moving. Overall they had me in tears over all my ruined belongings..and I don't even hold "stuff" in that high of esteem. It was just so disappointing to have heard how much they care and then to see that it was just B.S. Jeff the packer used maybe 3 or 4 very thin blankets because they were $20/pc and going to be thrown away at the end of the move (they used a rental truck). So save yourself the value of all your possessions and the stress of watching it all come out in shambles. Pick someone else. read more

First off, I would like to state, that the person I spoke with on the phone for the initial set up about our move, was very clear on the prices, the range of what the prices covered, as well as the clock starting at the time the movers left the office ( but not to exceed 30 minutes of our time into the move ) For which I GREATLY appreciate. I don't enjoy places that have hidden fee's. So this was a relief to me. Our move was a fairly simple one, lots, and LOTS of boxes, to be moved from a house to an upstairs fourplex (we have some seriously STEEEEEEP stairs ). So! To start off! I was told on the day of our move ( monday! Today actually! ) that we would receive a call at 8 am to let us know when the movers would head out, which we did receive. Originally we where told that the arrival time would not exceed 30 minutes ( the initial guy on the phone I talked to. ) But when the movers called, they gave me an estimate of 45 minutes. No real big deal in my opinion. I mean, we live in Austin... traffic anyone? Sooo, 9am rolls around, and we still havent heard from the movers, so I called the main office and got an update ( they where literally down the street at that point, again, Traffic catches another victim XD ), any way, our movers arrived shortly after, where friendly and quick to explain the 'insurance' policies. ( Which I had already read with the confirmation e-mail ) Signed off on the paper, asked me what was to go, what was to stay, and started packing. I have to say these guys where FAST!! Both Ryan and Anthony far surpassed what I was expecting, and left a lasting impression that I will not soon forget! They where polite, friendly and quick on their feet! Everything was pretty much loaded up in under/around 45 minutes! What would have taken me and my partner nearly a full day took them JUST 45 minutes! ( needless to say I was thrilled! ) Also I would like to add this in: These two went above and BEYOND what was required of a mover. Point in case. I am deathly allergic to wasps, and one got into the house, they where kind enough to get rid of it for me. ( THANK YOU AGAIN! ) They also helped with our car that had some weird sticky stuff on the handle that we couldn't get off...so again THANK YOU! NOW! To move along to the last bit of this move. We arrived at our new place, which has the insanely steep stairs, and these two ( Anthony and Ryan ) Managed to get everything up those stairs and done if possible, in less time then it took to load everything up! I was...seriously impressed. It was hot out here, and those stairs give me troubles with just groceries, and yet they where handling them like a boss! Soooo... in conclusion.. amazing moving company, fairly priced, friendly and well worth hiring. If we stay in TX this coming year, I am certainly moving with these guys again! THANK YOU AGAIN for making this moving experience a welcoming one! read more

I used Square Cow three years ago to move my entire house. It was an easy choice to reuse you since there weren't any issues from the past move and my expectations were the same as this move was just switching bedroom sets. The experiences were nothing alike at all and this last move had multiple issues. I booked being told I was using the south location which was perfect because it was close to where I am located (Driftwood) only to find out that they were driving from Cedar Park which is at least an hour away. My simple easy move of switching two bedroom sets turned into a disaster. One of the bed sets was damaged in multiple places on multiple pieces, including about an inch and 1/4 chip being taken out of the bed itself. I was told by the head mover that it was there before disassembly happened and realized it wasn't worth the argument. I let them finish, leave my house and got on the phone with management. I have photos of the bed before the move as well as an after and you can clearly see no damage was done prior to the move. Furthermore, the piece that they chipped off the bed was found on the floor while cleaning up after they left . I was told I would get a claims form and to provide all the images which I have already sent to Les directly and they would send someone out to repair the furniture. Basically the two movers didn't pay attention to what they were doing and clearly didn't respect the items being moved or this amount of damage simply wouldn't have happened, and the cover lies wouldn't have been delivered to me. I can say that from experience with this company. Based on what happened I don't think I will consider your company in my upcoming move of my entire house. Extremely let down and disappointed by the level of service which is claimed to be delivered by your company vs the reality of the job that I got. You charge top dollar for a crappy move with damaged furniture and extra drive time because your "call center" tells people the wrong thing as far as north and south locations. The move was from Driftwood to Round Rock so if I wasn't told they would be starting south why would I send your Cedar Park truck to Driftwood first? I expressed my concern to Les in regards to this and there is still no offer to reimburse for drive time, disappointing considering the hourly rate. I was told by the team I was only charged for 30 min of drive time so I guess that was supposed to be okay?? I am curious to see how the claims process works and the quality of repair that happens. This exact review will be placed anywhere I can put it and I hope other people use caution before selecting you. Please feel free to have management contact me if there are any further questions I would love to discuss this with someone besides Les. read more

I called another moving company first to get an estimate. They quoted me an extra service charge because I'm outside their market area, adding an additional $250 to their estimate. When I called Square Cow, they honored a rate I had been quoted by one of their managers who had only a few weeks earlier left the company to help his wife build her business. When Nick said he would honor the price, I was understandably happy. But based on my previous call w/competitor, I was sure to ask if there was an extra charge due to the location I was moving from. Nick said absolutely not so we made the reservation for the day & time I wanted within minutes, and an email confirmation arrived while we were on the phone. At 8am on move day, I received a phone call from Mike to let me know I am confirmed on the books for a morning move, however one of their movers was running late due to car trouble. Mike said the 8:30 arrival might be closer to 9am. Got it. This happens. At about 8:55am, I received a call from Chris, who said they were on their way and should be arriving in about 25 mins. Ok, so a little later start than I expected, but it's do-able. Chris and Adam arrived at 9:20am, got the truck positioned, and introduced themselves with smiles and handshakes. So they were late, but their professional and pleasant demeanor softened the blow. We walked through the house, got clear on what was and was not being moved, and within minutes, they were hauling stuff into the truck. These guys moved swiftly but carefully, never dragging anything along corners or walls. Chris was literally whistling while he worked, and they both talked to my dog a few times to make him feel comfortable with their presence. I anticipated arriving at the new location at 11am and had coordinated with the office to pick up my keys at that time. Even with a start time nearly an hour late, we still arrived at the new location at 11:15. Once there and with most of my stuff off the truck, they offered to do small helpful things for me even though the work order didn't call for it, and they took care with all of my worldly possessions. These guys are fun and funny, but stay focused on the job at hand and are mindful of your time. While I wasn't thrilled that we started an hour late, it ended up being a non-issue that I completely forgot about because everything else they did from start to finish was so professional. Way to go guys, you have absolutely earned your bonus, AND THEN SOME! Customer service is alive and well at Square Cow Movers. My hats off to you, and thank you. I WILL be hiring you for future moves and will recommend you explicitly to friends I know will be needing movers in the near future. read more

***UPDATE 8/9/2017***: I spoke with the branch manager Tim and he was awesome. There was confusion because I stupidly buried my complaint in the internal survey that had 5 stars on it. My mistake and this led to no follow-up. Tim made things more than right and I was truly humbled by this gesture. This lines up with everything I've read on Angie's List and other sites and I'll definitely use them again. --------------------------- First the good stuff. I was blown away with the job the crew did. They were hard workers, took direction well, and the crew leader was great at communicating what they were going to work on. These guys were put in a difficult spot (will get to that in a second) but never stopped working hard. I appreciate how quickly they worked even though the temperature that day was 103 degrees. Great guys...my advice would be to give them a raise asap because they rocked! My main complaint here is the estimation process and how the client and the moving crew have to deal with that in the moment. I was told, given the size of our house, that one moving truck and crew would suffice and there'd still be a good 300 sq feet of room left for our stuff (to be fair we weren't having them move every single item in the house). Well, right away we all started to realize that one truck would indeed NOT be enough (ended up taking 2 truck loads) and the crew leader alerted us to that. He said they could send another truck and crew but the negotiated rate would be higher. Great job on his part for 1) identifying this early on, and 2) communicating it to me so I could make the call. Knowing the rate we were paying was a lot already, I declined. This is a really hard pill to swallow on moving day and it seems like it could have easily been avoided had an on-site estimate been completed. And not only did this inconvenience my family, but it puts the moving crews in a really tight spot. They're already dealing with stressed out people anyways and when someone finds out the agreed upon rate won't suffice then the client gets upset AND the crew's effort just doubled or tripled. It's just a lose-lose for everyone participating in the move. Kudos again to how this crew rolled with the punches. One final thing...I submitted all of this, respectfully, to Square Cow when they asked me to fill out an internal survey and really had hoped they would contact me so we could discuss this. I do not see the wisdom in asking for feedback if you simply ignore it (see previous reviewers)? So to summarize: great moving crew but insist upon an on-site estimate to prevent unwelcome and $$$ surprises! read more

My husband and I transferred within our complex to a bigger unit in a different building. The move was today, and I am wiped out, because moving sucks. But, we used Square Cow when we first moved into this complex seven-ish months ago, and we had a wonderful, easy experience, so we were excited to use their services again for this move. Like last time, booking was super easy. A month or so before our move date, we filled out the online quote form after work and the next day we got our quote. From there, I basically just had to respond to the email and our appointment was booked. Note: I made a terrible mistake and forgot to specify that we would need an afternoon move because we couldn't pick our keys up until 10am. But, Rebecca and Nic were awesome and let me reschedule like it was no trouble at all. Miguel and Desmond gave us the courtesy call at about 12:30 today to let us know that they'd be at our house in 30-45 minutes. They got to us right around 1pm. Miguel had helped us with our last move and he actually remembered us! You have to figure these guys move hundreds of people a year. While we remembered him fondly (you don't forget a dude who picks your couch up with one hand) we didn't expect him to remember us, but he did, and even remembered some details about our apartment (narrow, stupid doorway). It's that kind of attentiveness that made us want to use Square Cow again. Both Miguel and Desmond were incredibly nice and polite and they were such good guys. They came in, assessed our furniture and boxes, checked in with us to see what we wanted them to move (just the big stuff this time .We got most of the little stuff out of the way early). They packed everything up really smoothly. They didn't damage or scuff anything and they worked together really well. The unpacking went just as well (aside from the fact that I think one of my grouchy neighbors came out to scold them for playing music in the middle of the day on a Saturday, well within noise ordinances). They lugged our heavy furniture upstairs for us and set everything up where we wanted it. They worked so hard and were so kind. In all, the move took less than 2 hours to complete. Square Cow has a two hour minimum, which makes sense because the guys all work so hard, and we were happy to pay. As long as we live in Square Cow's service area, we will use them every time we move. Which hopefully won't be often, because have I mentioned I'm exhausted? read more

This is my first Yelp review. I've never felt compelled to write a review before, and having been involved in Baldrige-level performance excellence for ten years I've become difficult to impress. Square Cow deserves a few comments though. - I rarely max out a score or rating. There's almost always room to improve, but in this case, I can't think of a thing to criticize. I've moved maybe fifteen times in the last thirty years and have become accustomed to expecting that a mediocre-to-good performance is as good as it gets. These guys are in a different class altogether, and they were so professional, polite, attentive, and aware that it's difficult to compare them to other moving companies. - The processes seem to be carefully designed and implemented. The quote process was accurate and there were no surprises. Nick and Mike suggested alternatives to what I thought I needed and they were right - my local Austin move required four men and two trucks in one trip and it was more efficient and cost effective than two men, one truck and two trips. Additionally, Mike suggested alternative moving dates to make my move less costly. - There were no errors and no surprises. Brian H., the team lead, called in advance to confirm the time and details. Everyone showed up on time, enthusiastically introduced themselves and made sure I had no last minute changes or adjustments. The paperwork was accurate and Brian made sure that I was satisfied with the plan before we started. Expectations were set properly and I was very impressed. - On-time and error-free performance is important, but nothing substitutes well for great people who really care about customer satisfaction. It's likely that most of the people at Square Cow are carefully recruited and well trained, but if I have to move again soon I will request Brian H., Ryan K., Chuck M., Tommy, and David L. to handle my move. These guys worked like they owned the company. Maybe they do. - Finally, Square Cow management showed up three-quarters of the way through the move to make sure that I was satisfied and the guys had everything they needed to finish the job on time and as promised. I am not kidding when I say that I am difficult to satisfy; I had the "I'm not impressed" face perfected before McKayla was born. Next time I have to move, I will call these guys first. I strongly recommend them to anyone comparing moving companies. read more

I never write Yelp reviews, but I finally have something to say - Dalton and Cameron (and Square Cow, for that matter) totally deserve as many stars as I can give. I've used Square Cow twice within the past six months, and both times Dalton and Cameron were great! I first used Square Cow back in December 2012, and that's when I first met Dalton and Cameron. They were friendly, polite, efficient, and did a great job at moving my belongings from a 2nd story apartment into a house that I was going to share with my then boyfriend. They even went the extra step/mile and helped me when they saw I was struggling moving a piece of furniture in the house that was already there (I had just had surgery and couldn't really move all that well at the time). Fast forward a few months (April 2013), and I had to move again (the bf became my ex), and so I called Square Cow. I asked for Dalton and Cameron again because they were great with my belongings the first time and nice to work with, and while the guy I spoke with on the phone when setting up the appointment said they couldn't guarantee a specific moving team, he said he'd try. Come moving day, there were Dalton and Cameron pulling up to my storage unit. With my last move they moved my belongings from a storage unit into a 3rd floor apartment. And they were fast and good - meaning, they didn't linger nor did they take shortcuts, and everything was delivered in the same condition that it left the storage unit. Hey, some of my furniture is cheap stuff, but some of it (like an antique dresser from my grandmother) is really nice stuff, and regardless of the value, Dalton and Cameron were great about treating each piece with care. They were also great about asking me where I wanted things in the apartment, realizing I'm a single girl and can't really move heavy things on my own. Also, they were very respectful. I have to say that as a girl, you don't always get treated with respect when dealing with movers. Moving is never easy, especially when there's a whole breakup involved, but working with Dalton and Cameron, and Square Cow, really helped ease the process. FYI - I've used three other local movers for other moves prior to finding Square Cow back in 2012. Square Cow has bested them all in price, courtesy, respectfulness, honesty, helpfulness, care, and efficiency. read more

Update (Feb 15 2016) The owner contacted me and appropriately reimbursed for the loss and work. -------------- I was disappointed with their service. Admittedly, our hopes were high to begin, but after we discovered several issues while unpacking, we are surprised that they received the reviews that they have. First, they did not box pack several items - router, modems, cables, dvd player, TV remotes, home theater box, keyboards, mice and other computer accessories among other items. Apparently the packers (of square cow movers) were supposed to do this during their visit on the day prior, but forgot before leaving at 1.30 pm (they had time if they wanted to pack more). On the next day the movers (of square cow movers) refused to pack that because they call themselves movers and cannot do the job of packers. To me, they are people from square cow and its not my fault that square cow's packers did not pack the electronics. Second, even though I paid them for a full pack and move service, they made me work 3 hours with them. As a background, moving companies do not carry liquids. If you look around your house, there are a lot of liquids - soap dispensers, bathing soap, shampoo, conditioners, cleaning supplies, shaving foam along with a kitchen full of liquid items. What they could do is pack them all for me and let me carry them at my own liability. No, they did not. I spent hours scrambling for liquid items, securely packing them, putting them in a box, hauling them to my car and unloading them. Third, they did a horrible job packing my kitchen. I wish I could share the pictures here. I have them. All our spices, flour, rice and other powdered items were dumped in one large box without sealing individual item. As a result they ended up mixing together along with all other kitchen items - electric water heater, kitchenware, edible items, mats etc. and we had to throw them all away. Fourth, the stemware was stacked on top of each other in large boxes. They had initially said they would use stemware boxes, but they didn't and I haven't received an explanation yet. So, a lot of our stemware broke. Fifth, our decorative flowers, sticks and lamp shades were discovered at the bottom of a box, damaged due to lack of protective packing. When we filed a claim for all this, they shamefully sent a $25 check. read more

I can't say enough good things about Square Cow Moovers! Moving is hard and there is nothing fun about it. But Square Cow made the experience about as good as it can be. We moved from a house we have lived in for 26 years to another house in Austin. Square Cow did our packing and moving, as well as an hourly move to take some things to our storage unit and to the new house in advance of the main move. Everything was handled with great professionalism--from Todd's original visit to give us an estimate, through several scheduling changes, all the way to the packing, loading, and unloading at the new house. AJ, Elyssa, Anthony, Chili, and Jim (?) worked all day until after 10pm to pack our stuff. They were pleasant, courteous and professional, and despite the huge amount of things we had including a huge amount of china, crystal, glassware, and kitchenware, they packed everything meticulously. Nothing was broken! Eric and the other guy (sorry, I can't find his name) handled the hourly move to haul things to our storage unit and then to take a refrigerator and area rugs to the new house. They were efficient and professional, even helping us unroll and install the area rugs. For the big move, Ramirez, Ulises, Geraldo, Chili and Tim spent a full day loading the trucks and then about 5 hours the next day unloading at the new house in 100 degree weather. They were very careful with our furniture, worked extremely hard, and were extremely professional, courteous, and good-natured. When it came to unloading at the new house, they reassembled and installed everything, and made sure we had protective pads on the furniture that was on the wood floors. We had to ask them to reposition a rug after the bed and Tempurpedic mattress had been placed on it, and they got it done without a single eyeroll or sigh. One of the most impressive things about this experience was the positive attitude of everyone we dealt with. They were extremely polite and courteous, not only to us but with each other. All of them seem very knowledgeable about their work and seem to genuinely enjoy the work and their co-workers. The price was fair and the quality of the work cannot be beat. I sincerely hope we don't have to move again anytime soon, but when we do I will not hesitate to contact Square Cow! read more

When you move you ask yourself a few different questions. Will they treat my belongings with respect? Will they steal from me? When the day gets long will they start dropping my boxes and being rough with the things I spent my life acquiring? Am i paying by the hour? yes? Will they stand around smoking cigarettes taking their time running up my bill? Here is a huge question. Will they have the common sense to read the top of the boxes their unloading and place them in the rooms they belong in? That's always nice you know? Not having a huge pile of boxes in your living room or being asked every 30 seconds where you want this or that. O sir where do you want this or that... Well it does say Garage on the box does it not? I have moved several times in the passed few years and have almost always had some problem with the company I chose until now. Square Cow Movers did the right thing in my book. They arrived on time and fresh ready for work. They were all clean and dressed well in uniform. I was shocked at how fast they worked and unloaded the 24 foot truck. It was well under 2 hours. Everything was placed (with out needing to be told) in the correct rooms. Nothing was broken and just as importantly nothing was missing. No furniture smashed into walls while moving into the home. Thank you Chuck, Gary and Luiz for everything and I will most definitely be using you for my next move. P.S. never opt for a two man crew to move you. 3 means a man can stay in the truck and feed your stuff to the two on the ground there by accelerating your load/unload dramatically. I see a negative comment here as I read through posts and I think that should be addressed. The company cant force you to understand they can only recommend and then deal with your decision. two men would take much much longer to unload/load and so the difference in cost between two and 3 men is taken up by the extra time you spend per hour on the two also lets not forget how hard it would be for one man to pass heavy furniture to one other man then jump off the truck to move it. With that said ill end with its unfair to blame your moving company for traffic. read more

BEST MOVING COMPANY EVER!!!! I cannot say enough good things about this company and it's employees. I have made 9 moves in the last 15 years, so I know what I'm talking about! TAKE IT FROM ME - look no further!!!! This is the company you want to hire for your next move! Starting with Brian, the operations manager, who came out to do the estimates - I moved in two different loads, a month apart - to the young men who showed up to help pack after finishing completing their jobs for the day elsewhere, EVERY employee was GREAT! The office handles all calls with a businesslike manner (sadly lacking in today's business world) and politeness. Calls were returned in a timely manner, too. Brian was VERY professional on the phone and in person!! My move was a bit complicated because I moved only the essentials on the first move - wanted to leave the house furnished, as it had not sold yet - and the rest of my things later once the house sold - IN LESS THAN A MONTH!! Brian came by the house on both moving days to check that everything was moving along well. The second move (and packing) was a bit slower than we first thought it would be but he and the other employees never made me feel rushed or anxious. The slower pace was partly my fault - I failed to show Brain one set of china (over 160 pieces) that needed to be packed - so Brian had two more young men come to help when they finished their jobs elsewhere. The packers were exceptional.. Well trained, efficient, and QUICK. Not one thing was broken. NOT ONE!!!! Kuddos to Patrick, Josh M, John, and Tanner!!! My sincere THANK YOU! Best packers I've ever experienced. The loaders/movers were just as excellent as the packers!! I cannot thank Jimmy, Nick, Preston, Matt W, and Bobby enough. Every one of them was personable, yet very professional and highly organized. Each one of these young men was polite, hard-working, respectful of me and my things. They seemed to be genuinely interested in me and even tolerated looking at pictures of my two year old grandson - HAHAHAHAHA!! BLESS THEIR HEARTS! Thank you, Square Movers, for A JOB WELL DONE!!! I used Square Cow Movers for my Jan '13 move across town and can tell you they more than justify their multiple 5 star reviews. I was blown away by how quickly they worked (they loaded, moved, and unloaded me from one 2 bed 2 storey condo to another in under 4 hours) and were courteous and pleasant throughout the entire process. The team that moved me was Kyle, Sean H and Cid and they arrived perfectly on time (having called me in advance as promised) and looking professional in their uniforms. This was my first move within the US (my company arranged my international relocation previously) so I really wasn't sure how to select the right move company. I'm so glad I chose Square Cow, and equally grateful to all you other Yelpers for helping me make that choice! I had multiple questions as I was trying to make my decision and each time I called them found them to be patient and helpful. I was confused about how to make the decision between a fixed price or an hourly rate and got a quote for both (Wade and Nic came out to give me an in-home estimate at no charge and it was another great opportunity to make sure I had all the info I needed.) In the end, I went with an hourly rate and opted for 3 guys. I think having the 3rd person helped and in fact they beat their estimated time and charged me less than I was originally quoted. I was worried they would just drag out the time to meet the original quote but this was a real sign of the ethics of this company. Not a single thing was damaged in transit and they went to great lengths to protect my door frames and floors etc. I used BungoBox for my packing crates (another great company - check out their reviews too) but had Square Cow pack my more fragile items like my TV, large pictures, mirror and glass units. Everything was really well taken care of and there was no damage whatsoever. I will definitely use them again for my next move - although I hope that won't be for a while! read more
I'm a DIY kind of gal. That's another way of saying "cheap to the point of martyrdom." I have zero problem dropping serious money on things like restaurants, but I only own like two pairs of shoes (from Target). Randomly buying plane tickets and premium Korean BB cream? Sure. Letting myself buy new jeans? Uh, no-- who am I, the Queen of England? It's a problem. My husband shares this problem. And our kids are likely doomed to be the same way when they're grown: enjoy your life of cool vacations and old underwear, babies! I mean, my husband and I COULD move our stuff ourselves, right, so why pay someone else? I moved seventeen million times in my twenties, a couple times across the country, and prided myself on doing it without professional help. But now we're not in our twenties. And our friends have back problems and stuff, and nobody has a truck anymore. What a drag it is getting old. Bobby and Desmond (I think those were their names?) showed up exactly on time. So friendly! An air of reassuring competence! I swear they ran -- RAN -- the whole time, like someone was chasing them. Such respect for our time and money. Not a second wasted. Had to take a couple doors off the hinges and did so (and put 'em back up) in seconds flat. They worked as a team so well that it was like they were communicating telepathically. The narrow hallways and steep driveway in our new house didn't phase 'em: they were able to solve complicated geometry problems with grace and confidence. And they were just super nice guys the whole time. We were charged exactly the time it took and not a dime more. It was so easy and such a relief that I wanted to kiss them. (I didn't.) Though at first it was a little awkward to watch other people doing my work for me, having all my stuff moved AND the energy to start immediately settling in was worth eighty times what we paid Square Cow (who, by the way, had the most reasonable rates of the several quotes I received!). read more

**After posting this review, Square Cow contacted me and came out to my house to inspect the damage. He apologized many times and asked what he could do to right the situation. Something most companies rarely do these days! I agreed to have his furniture repair people come out and they did. They did a spectacular job repairing everything! I was AMAZED! The only thing they didn't work on was the table from the late 1800's which I had already sent to my carpenter to work on. It won't bring my table back to its original condition but they did fix everything else (which I really thought was impossible!) In the end, Square Cow made the situation right. Original review: After seeing the reviews for this company, I was certain I would be able to get a seamless move with minimal collateral damage!! Was I ever wrong!?! Seriously disappointed in their services. Although all of their personnel was extremely friendly and cooperative, the end result was that some very precious pieces got severely damaged. I had warned them about an antique table from the late 1800's and asked them to use kid gloves with it. When it arrived, the top was split in half and all the legs were bent in towards the middle of the table!! Then they took the legs off another antique table and lost the hex screws that went to 3 of the legs! They do not even make those kinds of hex screws anymore! So I now have a table that can't be reassembled. Not only that, they scratched numerous pieces of furniture!! I even had them wrap each piece of furniture with blankets and shrink wrap on a lot of items. I asked the folks packing me if I needed more men on moving day and they said no. I asked a supervisor the same question... No, all will be fine. On moving day after the 4 guys had been working hard all day, they called in 3 other guys to come help finish!! Wow! Couldn't believe I paid them as much as I did! read more

Moving my business office that we have been in for 7 years was a big undertaking, having to put all of our furniture into storage for 4 months to wait for our official new office to be ready was even more challenging. Thank you to Isaac and Breonne who were my first points of contact. Completely professional and responsive. The gentleman who called me the day before to confirm the move was awesome as well and offered a different solution to possible save us some money. I was nervous, but trusted his expertise. The original order of 4 guys and 2 trucks when to 3 guys and 1 truck. Anxiety kicked in.. but I trusted him. The crew of AMAZING young men that showed up from Square Cow Movers- Cedar Park were EXCEPTIONAL! They were professional, polite, engaging, and busted their butts. We had big furniture and heavy large filing cabinets.. and they had to move half of it battling a stair case (no elevator). Eek. They never complained, and each of them must of has said "yes, Ma'am" 100 times. And when I would try to help, they would say, "please don't do that. That's what we are here for." Not helping is not what I do.. I was So blown away. Not only did they magically pack all of our contents into 1 truck, but they managed to unload it into 2 out of the 3 storage units I had waiting. AND they suggested that they use both of the smaller units so I could give back the larger unit to save me more money. Speechless. I just want to say that when we officially move again, in the fall, Daniel, Lexie, and Marshall better be my crew. Absolutely Stellar Gentlemen who understand the art and science of packing and moving, and who also posses the physical ability to accomplish it is making it look like a piece of cake. Thank you, Square Cow Movers, and Daniel, Lexie, and Marshall. You deserve a bonus for sure. You have won me over. Superb. read more

USE THIS COMPANY!!! I used them for a two stage move- half my house went into local storage and, 2 weeks later, the other half was loaded onto a rented van for a long distance haul. The team Square Cow Moovers sent (ELIJAH W., CHRIS C., and TANNER) was FAR, FAR MORE CAREFULwith my things than I have ever experienced with any other movers in Austin (and I have moved several times). THEY COST LESS, too! I have mostly antiques, a lot of art, and china, and it was all handled with the utmost care. They wrapped all the furniture in blankets, then film-wrapped the blankets so that every inch of wood was protected. Then they carefully loaded the pieces and tied them in so that nothing moved to cause any scrapes or breaks. Unbelievable! Their crew, consisting of Elijah W., Chris C., and Tanner, was so outstanding that I requested the same crew for the second half of my move. Elijah W. was a great team leader, very EXPERIENCED, very RESPECTFUL, very FAST, very SMART. Elisha W. (who worked seamlessly with Chris C. wrapping the pieces and tying them on) directed his team to accomplish all I requested and more. Tanner practically ran pushing the dollies loaded with boxes to make it go quicker. They went beyond my hopes in every way knowing exactly how to load things so that when it arrived it had not moved an inch! Plus the home office folks were super easy to work with- flexible, prompt, attentive to detail and well-bid the job. I took other bids and Square Cow's was the BEST BID, and provided the MOST PROFESSIONAL SERVICE. It is a no-brainer to choose this company and I hope you will so they will still be provided excellent moves when I hire then to move my things out of storage! One more thing- Elijah W. even taught me how to drive the rented 22 ft. moving van before we loaded it. Talk about above and beyond! read more
