Whenever I'm in Seattle I make it a point to come here. The staff is always friendly and it's very clean. I love the no hassle atmosphere and the high every from the people here. Keep in mind that the lines are very long during lunch but they work really fast to accommodate everybody. Long line = good food right. If you don't have time to stand in line, you can place and order before you arrive which makes this place worthwhile. They also have an app where for loyal members. Now about the food. IT'S AMAZING! The mixture of vegetables and fruits make thier meals taste like gold. I'm fond of the salads and they melt in your mouth. They have vegan burgers and chicken sandwiches. You name it they probably have it. I've never had thier catering but I witnessed the manager take off his tie, roll up his sleeves and start cooking to get the order out on time. The catered order was boxed up really nicely and they even carried the catering out to the car for the lady who ordered A LOT of food. So if you are ever in Seattle stop on by or find a Veggie Grill near you. I promise you won't be disappointed. ~ Drew read more

So excited to be in a city again that has a veggie grill. This is a vegans dream, like a McDonalds but vegan- whaaaaa?! This particular veggie burger has a good location, right in the downtown area. Although I went during dinner time, I can see this spot being pretty busy for the weekday office lunch crowd; but there was only a couple diners and no line when I walked up. I was feeling famished when I arrived, I would typically be a salad gal, but I grabbed the "buffalo bomber" sandwich. A crispy "chicken" tossed in buffalo sauce with ranch and a side of fries. Literally I sat down, checked in on Yelp (obvi) and looked up - boom - my food was ready. As expected this sandwich was amazing. Perfect amount of spice with the buffalo sauce and the "chicken" is pretty damn real. Even my non veg fiance will eat here so I think this is a place you can bring anyone who is trying out a more plant based lifestyle. tip - sign up with your e-mail on their website and they will send you a free meal on your birthday! yay! read more

Everything is plant based here, everything. It's all made fresh. French fries and tempura dipped cauliflower, sandwiches. I finally had a "Reuben" after YEARS. and since I've forgot how a meaty Reuben tasted like, their Reuben was a pleasure to my taste buds. My husband enjoyed how "chicken" sandwich as well. AND NO DAIRY! Best find in Seattle ever. read more

You know how normally when you order takeout from downtown, the food arrives all disheveled and sloppy looking from the ride over? There was none of that with my order from here, because everything is packaged SO well. They have the food arranged as if it were being served in-restaurant, but in cute little compostable containers with custom green stickers holding everything together. They didn't sacrifice quality just because I wasn't dining in and that impressed me! As for the food itself- My husband and I ordered a lot. He got the cauliflower wings, sweet potato fries, and three 'fish' tacos which were individually packaged as not to get sloppy taco all over each other. I ordered the Masala bowl and sampled everything off of my husband's plate because I'm a dirty scavenger with no morals or house training. Everything was incredible and delicious! Vegan bowls often suffer from a phenomenon where they almost always have way too much of something and barely any of the 'good stuff' but this one was perfectly balanced with protein, greens, and quinoa. I can tell that whoever prepared this took their time. My only gripe is that all of this cost damn near $60. I understand that vegan specialty restaurants tend to be on the steeper side of the price spectrum either way so it's not a huge deal, and would have been cheaper if we had bit the bullet and dined in instead. I just know that this will be a very rare treat to be enjoyed again when my tax return hits my bank account and not a second sooner. read more

A healthier spin on fast food with friendly service! I really enjoy the concept and I've been here several times. I find I'm always wishing the bread were toasted when I have a burger, but overall the food is good. They change things up every so often which keeps things interesting. My second time eating at Veggie Grill was at this location. I was quite impressed. Reminds me of my be,loved Native Foods. This is the first stop on my Seattle trip. Since it'd been 10 hours since I've eaten a meal due to long flights, I was desperate to eat. I ran across a mention of the 'fast food' veggie nature of this place and was sold, because I had to eat pronto. So this place fit the bill perfectly. A great, diverse menu with everything from bowls, salads, burgers, and dinner plates. I had the Sonoran Bowl, since I was feeling a spicy bowl. Partner had the Fried Chikin Plate. Both were delicious, but I think my other half had the right idea with the comfort food after the long travels. The fried chikin was on point, the mashed potatoes/cauliflower with mushroom gravy were creamy and delightful, the smothered corn a perfect match! Really amazing! My bowl was good, but really like almost any quinoa bowl out there. The reason I gave 4/5 stars is because they are definitely more expensive than most places. While your food comes out fast and delicious, you are absolutely paying for the veggie-status of this place. I'll be super glad when vegetarian becomes less expensive (I mean, come on, veggies are way cheaper than meat)! While inside, I saw postings for their Thanksgiving dinner and a Thanksgiving-style turkey sandwich. I will most definitely be back, especially since it was priced less than most other menu items. Can't wait! read more

Since going vegan a few months ago, I've turned to Veggie Grill so many times and I've been happy every single time. I even used to eat here before going vegan and enjoyed the food back then too! They have a large menu with a variety of items ranging from fast-food style burgers and sandwiches, to fresh quality meals loaded with veggies and grains. They also have seasonal offerings that rotate regularly. My favorites so far: -the Moroccan Bowl (lemony garlic tahini covered deliciousness) -the Seoul Bowl (sweet and spicy and could probably confuse meat eaters- tastes like grilled steak) -the All Hail Kale Salad (simple and fresh) -the Mediterranean Supergreen salad (a great mix of good toppings and veggies) -the carrot cake (a slight addiction) -the chocolate chip walnut cookie (perfect- and it's pretty big!) I usually don't care to eat "fake" meat, but veggie grill does it so well and I actually like there chick'in and chargrilled veggie steak. I've mostly ordered my food to-go (they have FREE delivery via Postmates- which isn't normal for most restaurants on the app). It always arrives quickly and well packaged. I'm glad Veggie Grill exists or else I don't know what I'd be eating when I don't have time to cook. Definitely a place to please vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters alike. read more

Wanted Chipotle, only to get turned away at the counter - were only taking online orders (FML), so ended up trying Veggie Grill. Worst lunch I've had in a long time. Wanted a salad with veggies only and protein, low cal, emphasizing lettuce, carrots, tomatoes and soy meat (clean as possible). Staff recommended the Kale Caesar. I asked for added soy chicken and no croutons. Came w/ croutons of which I picked off. The soy chicken (grilled chicken breast simulation) was disgusting, reminiscent of a gym sock. I managed to choke down half of it and left the rest. Too bad, because I know there are some good fake chicken options on the market. Hell, MorningStar Farms had a good chickpea nugget 20 years ago. The salad has spinach and kale, which I consider barely edible in raw form. No lettuce. Miserable f@#%@ meal. These "healthy" places also irritate me in their refusal to carry "unhealthy" beverages like soft drinks. Give me a break. They are serving all of these proto fake meats loaded with chemicals, but won't carry a diet Coke? Delusional. read more

Eats: cucumber mint limeade. Chick'n Sonoran bowl. Chocolate parfait. Where: by Pike Place Market within walking distance of a lot of downtown hot spots. Why: the mountain air had me feeling vegetarian. I watered down my cucumber mint limeade, because it was so sweet. Super good, just really sweet so be aware. It sounds like a weird blend of things, but super yummy. The bowl does not come with chik'n. I added that. It's like a burrito bowl. Super filling. I couldn't finish it, because I wanted some chocolate parfait. The chocolate parfait was really good as well. All in all a good Seattle fast food style vegetarian friendly dish. Definitely pricier for fast food. I think my meal was like $30 or something. It was really good though. read more

Not sure why this veggie grill wasn't as good at the one near the university. Went here for lunch and ordered the masala chickpea bowl and fries. The bowl lacked flavor and there wasn't enough sauce distributed all over the bowl, so where the sauce didn't reach it was completely bland. The fries were good, however. Not sure if I'd come back to this particular location. read more

I'm not vegan, or even vegetarian, but I still love Veggie Grill. Up until recently I had no idea it was 100% vegan. Actually, it was when I ordered the nachos and tasted the "cheese".... it was pretty obvious after that :). The food tastes the same here as it does at other locations. My favorite is always the Sante Fe Crispy Chikin', I like to add the Chipotle pesto to give it a little extra flavor. I'm not a huge fan of the fries here so I usually order the sweet potato fries instead. My only gripe about this location is that last time I was here, it took about ~30 minutes to get our food.. which was unreasonably long given how long it usually takes. My friend got the quinoa power salad (didn't really have flavor, but sure looked healthy) and other friend got the Koreatown tacos (I've had these before and I'm not a huge fan of the sauce, it's really sweet and they put too much of it on). read more

If you are skeptical about their all-veggie concept, don't be! The food is delicious, regardless of the category it falls under. I am so happy my husband pushed us to eat here instead of at Hard Rock around the corner (confession: I was craving nachos). I still got my nacho fix, but without that greasy, weighed down feeling after! The Mondo Nachos ($7.95) definitely hit the spot; a generous portion of corn chips piled high with vegan cheese, guacamole, jalapenos, caramelized onions and "chicasa" veggie meat. We also shared the Masala Bowl ($10.95) per the recommendation of the guy behind the counter, and it was the real star of the night! Chana masala (chickpeas) and roasted cauliflower plated over supergrains and steamed kale with hemp seeds and a cilantro/green curry sauce. YUM! The side of raita and garlic flatbread helped to cool it all down. Can't wait to come back and try more of this menu! read more

For vegans and vegetarians this place offers a lot of options. I love that. Ordered food for my brother and sister in law (both vegetarians) got the chick'n burger and the buffalo wings with lentil soup and fries. Soup was 10/10 ! Good quality and quantity. The fries were 7/10, they were alright. Nothing to die for. The burger was bland and both of them had to wipe down the mashed guacamole on the burger because of how old it tasted. Not what we were looking or expecting especially since each burger was about $12-15$ by themselves. Buffalo wings 8/10 the texture of the wings were point on. but 1 slice of celery chopped three way wasn't enough. Especially not a "serving for 2 people" read more

Came here after work with a friend that really likes this place. As someone interested in eventually becoming vegetarian, I thought this would be a great time to finally try this spot and see what kind of menu variety they have. I was very surprised by the breadth of their menu, and while scanning the restaurant, I was also pleasantly surprised with their variety of yummy looking teas next to the soda station. There was a woman in front of me that ordered and her cashier mentioned that she could get a free tea of her choice since she was a first time customer. This got me really excited and I hoped that my cashier (a different person) would inform me of this offering as well. He called me forward and I wound up ordering the BTLA (bacon, tomato, lettuce, and avocado). He then asked me if I would like to add anything to drink. He did not mention the deal for first time customers to me and I felt embarrassed to ask for the free drink so I just asked for water. However, my friend spoke up and said, "don't first time customers get a free tea?" Instead of kindly confirming this, he got really suspicious and asked, "is this really your first time here?" First of all, yes, it is REALLY my first time here. Then when I responded yes, he asked in a rude tone, "how did you hear about that??" We told him the truth that we heard the cashier tell the customer in front of us about the deal. He finally conceded to giving me the free tea. I was shocked that he was so rude and suspicious of us over a freaking tea. Like, what's got you so bent up about the tea??? If it's Veggie Grill's policy, then kindly follow it. As an employee, you should be happy to offer it and not act suspicious of everyone. Why do you care so much to the point of being rude anyway??? This ruined my experience honestly. I got my free and deserved tea and it was very good. The vegan bacon was not good (nothing compares to the real thing for me) but the rest of the sandwich was tasty. I also ate some of my friend's fries and those were also really good and had great flavor and texture (not soggy). read more

I received a deal from the Veggie Grill App for a free appetizer/share/side...with no other purchase necessary. Wow! How generous is that?! I chose the Mondo Nachos with grilled chicken....and quickly realized that I should have invited a friend along to share!! Portion was ample for two-three people as an appetizer. I had half left over, it was so generous. Delicious Queso and Crema... nut cheese is so much more delicious and less harmful to animals than dairy! They could be more generous with avocado...barely a teaspoon size. But hey, it was free...AND harm-free! That's a win-win for our Planet! read more

Don't let the veggie scare you off, but the prices are a little hefty! Stopped here with coworkers for lunch, and I am not a vegetarian but this came highly recommended by my vegan coworker. I ordered the grilled chicken burger and paid $1.50 extra plus a drink (no soft drinks FYI - variations of teas only.) I got out of there for $18. The food was good-ish and especially good for being vegetarian, however I felt like I DEFINITELY overpaid for my lunch. $18 for a fake chicken sandwich and a side salad is a little ridiculous. Price aside, I have nothing really negative to say about the food and we got our orders pretty quickly. read more

The food here is great! I have never ordered anything I didn't like. The food is flavorful and the menu is extensive. My main complaint is with the service we received. We went to pick up our order and first, the staff didn't have it. They then found the order and said they would start working on it - they started it when the food was supposed to be ready to pick up. They looked busy so we sat down and waited. When our food was ready we asked if everything was there (we had a large order so we just wanted to be sure). The employee behind the counter checked the order and bag. He said everything was there. When we got home we were disappointed to find out a whole meal was missing from our order. We called the restaurant who said we would have to walk all the way back to pick up the missing meal. We live a bit far from veggie grill and didn't feel like walking back as it was late and everyone was hungry. Instead they offered us a refund - stating they didn't have anyone available to deliver it to our place. read more

Veggie Grill is a great addition to the downtown core. I don't have to trek to the South Lake Union location unless I'm in the neighborhood. This location is within walking distance from my office. Over time, a few of the kinks have been resolved. As with all downtown lunch spots, if you're in a rush, you should eat at 11:30am or 1pm. Last week, I was eating in and around 12pm, the line was all the way back to the door. Who can deny the call of kale? TIP: You can call in or order online. Also, when you come in the door, pick up a menu so you'll be ready with your order when you get up to the counter. The food has always been up to par. In fact, the release of the winter menu has really upped the game with new favorites such as the harvest bowl. Being a meat eater, I'm always impressed with the textures and flavors of the faux meat products. Most recently, I've been on a tempeh binge, adding it to such dishes as the thai salad. I've always been a fan of the chickin' and the crab cakes are very well done. My last visit there, servers were telling customers about the phone app. I have it and I LOVE it! You can place your order and submit pictures of receipts for their reward program which gives you....free food! If you sign up with your email, you get a welcome gift and a free entree on your birthday! Last week, I used my free birthday entree to celebrate with a group of friends. We were already having a fantastic time and the manager Brian, came over with two pieces of carrot cake and explained that he heard someone had a birthday at our table. That was ridiculously thoughtful and I appreciated the kind touch. The carrot cake was fantastic (even though I'm not a fan). Touches like those put Veggie Grill ahead of the game in terms of having a solid product and great service to top it off. read more

I'm already a huge fan of the Veggie Grill in University Village. This location may be a bit more difficult to access only because it's in Downtown Seattle and unless you work within walking distance or is up to pay for parking, you might be up for a challenge. I was already in this area and was excited to be close to a Veggie Grill so hell yeah, I'm going to stop by. My mission is to try everything on the menu at some point, so far it's probably only been like 4 items and each has been good in its own way. Today, I tried the "fish" tacos. This plate comes with 3 tacos with veggie fish and a side salad with pico de gallo in a small container. DELICIOUS. Their drinks are yummy too, especially the strawberry lemonade. Every single thing here is meatless even with a meat name in it's title, since everything is meatless, you feel a lot healthier finishing a meal not getting that food coma tiring feeling which is refreshing. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:) read more

I'd rate this place between 3.5-4 stars, ideally. I recently came here for lunch and I was impressed with the menu. There are a ton of choices, many vegetarian, but also many with chicken as well. There are veggie bowls and tacos and soups and salads and sandwiches. It's a great place for lunch. And the serving sizes are really, really large, too; we ended up bringing a lot of food home, as there was so much. All in all, great value for your money, and a lot of healthy options, too. I had a mini bowl of roasted vegetables which was tiny (perfect for me!) and nicely seasoned, with chunks of cauliflower and broccoli and carrots. Very good. The staff here were all amazingly friendly and nice, too. Very very pleasant! The only downsides: the bathroom was out of order and a staff member had to bring us way afield to open an outlying locked bathroom. Every table available was dirty and the used/dirty plate stations were terribly overflowing; they don't seem to have enough staff on busy weekend lunchtime shifts to keep up with the tables and dirty dish stations. (Perhaps they were just understaffed the day I was there? Not sure). I'd definitely try this place again, but perhaps on a weekday and not at noon proper. read more

You know it's good when the restaurant is packed and there's a huge line for vegetarian/vegan food. And I'd put money on the fact that at least half the people weren't even vegetarians, like myself. (Wildly guessing. I have no idea) But non-vegetarians can appreciate damn good vegetarian food too. That's where Veggie Grill shines. Whether you want a true plant-based, gluten free meal with no fake meat(Quinoa Power Salad) or a meat-tasting dish with fake meat (Sante Fe Crispy Chickin), they have it all. Eating vegetarian meals here is not a punishment to be healthy but a treat for your taste buds. My friend ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and I had the Harvest bowl. When they placed her plate down across the table from me, I could actually smell the fresh pesto before even seeing it. Then when I saw the plate, I almost wished I had ordered it too. I nibbled on some of her fries while waiting for my plate and I really was questioning my selection. The sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked with a hint of sea salt. Now, I'm officially drooling. Thankfully, my dish came out about 5 mins later and it was delicious. There was a mix of field roast sausages, kale, quinoa, broccoli, mushrooms, zucchini and squash in a miso sauce. The only negative was that it came out lukewarm and not hot. I will warn all the new folks who venture to try this place that it's confusing on how to proceed when you enter. As you step inside, there's menus in the front. So, we didn't know if we were supposed to wait to be seated or just walk up to order. Then we looked up and there were two long lines, one on the left and one on the right. There's a huge hanging sign on the right that said telephone orders and pick-up. So we walked to the line on the left hand side thinking that's where you order. Wrong! That's the pick-up line. So we walked across the room to get into the other line. Bingo! Now you know what to do and won't look as confused as us today. No worries, we'll be back with gusto next time. read more
