Jerome, the "Regional Operation Manager" of Next Level Veggie Grill was my host, with charming calmness helping my tired brain through the extensive menu! Edward is the General Manager in Training. Fast Food Veggie or Vegan have never been words we Vegetarians hear, and now, this is a growing venue. My Order was absolutely delicious, for "Fast Food" style. I had the best Sweet-Salted Potato Julian Fries I have ever tasted!! Included were............ With Stevie Wonder background music, this was fun! These comments do not come easy, for Fast Food is not part of Vegetarian Health Nut life's diet. The Glass Window corner location is easy to find, parking lot is small along with some street parking if one is lucky. The "Clean Casual" ambiance is set up for the ease of eating and leaving in a casual Orange colorful venue; fast service and willingness to help customers are high on the Menu. I am not a vegan at all or a vegetarian. Next Level Veggie Grill was a reach for me to try out. The service was great and the man who was attending to everyone and taking orders was very nice. The restaurant was clean and there was a decent amount of seating. There was a lot of natural light due to the very large windows. There's also outdoor seating. The main attendant recommended the vegan hamburgers and said that they were the best thing on the menu. Me being me I chose the Beyond Steak Filet topped with chimichurri and two sides, onion rings because they were out of broccoli and seasoned potatoes. I also got a chocolate shake using coconut and soy milk. First off the food was lukewarm nothing on that plate was hot. Even the onion rings though well fried still wasn't up to par on the temperature. The beyond meat fillet had a decent taste but it was warm. The chimichurri saved it from the lack of warmth. The seasoned potatoes were not bad, but not seasoned to my liking. I did enjoy the onion rings. If I was a vegan and I had a choice I would rarely frequent Next Level Veggie Grill. read more

It seems fitting Next Level Veggie Grill is on the DU campus. And it opens late till 10pm! Has its own parking lot which helps a lot around campus. Came in at around 8:30pm on a Sunday night. The main dining hall wasn't too full - they must have gotten a lot of call-in orders continuously as the kitchen sounded busy and bustling. Staff kept apologizing for the wait but it wasn't too bad: ~20 min. First item to come out was the Oange Cream Soy Milk Shake which was surprisingly tasty, and very cold so we could only take a small spoonful at at time. I secretly renamed it to the Orange Creamsicle Soy Milkshake. Even though it was a small shake, it's very thick and substantial. We saved half of it and later used it as a dip for the fries. But actually the ketchup they brought out was also excellent. Unlike next door's (Birdcall's ketchup is too healthy to be tasty!) I had to try the Beyond Beef plate. It was impressive, the "steak" even had a bit of "fond" and "jus". It tasted awesome with a green sauce that's my favorite kind of garlicky. Hubby opted for the Steak Asada burrito. He inhaled it so quickly I didn't have a chance to try! I bet if I didn't tell him this is a vegan place, he would not have noticed the meat was plant based! My American Classic Cheese Burger with a side of French Fries arrived warm. The lettuce and tomato slices were refreshingly cool and crisp in delightful contrast to the bun, burger and cheese. The fries were hot and perfectly crisp. Our server was exceptionally knowledgeable regarding the offerings on the menu. She suggested alternatives and options that were alternatives. My visit yesterday went very well because the service the food and the atmosphere all hit just right. I had had a chance to look over the menu before coming in, but the gentleman behind the counter was more than happy to give me some good suggestions. I ended up choosing the protein bowl with tofu. The look and taste of this was well above my expectations. The vegetables were cut and presented beautifully; the flavors were super flavorful. I almost could've drank the sauce that was on this, but I ended up asking for a side of ghost pepper ranch, which almost made me weep. I also had the peanut butter cup shake with soy. I would recommend anybody that likes peanut butter cups to come try this! The gentleman behind the counter recommended this and said that this was his favorite and I can totally understand why, now. Solid vegan restaurant in the University neighborhood. We tried a few meals on a recent day. We had a taco salad which came in a massive tortilla bowl and one of their bowls. The tortilla for the taco salad was super greasy but otherwise tasty and crispy. Mainly lettuce in the salad with vegan cheese which had an off-putting texture. We ordered fries which were superb We also order a bowl which had "walnut meat" as the cashier described the filling. It was OK overall but the sweet potatoes had different pieces that were cooked to different stages. The facility was clean overall and the staff was friendly. Its great to have a huge verity of vegetarian options that are quick without feeling too much like fast food. I ended up getting the salmon with mango salsa, onion rings and corn with a peanutbutter milkshake. My wife ended up getting the Steak with chimichuri sauce, potatoes, and pickled salad with a oreo milkshake. The supprising winners were the corn, pickeled salad, and peanutbutter milkshake. The corn had great grilled flavor and texture. The pickeled salad was really refreshing with the right amount of vinaigrette. And the peanutbutter milkshake was loaded with peanuts and I really liked the consistant texture of that which goes well with the creamy shake. While the mains were good and nice representations of the meats they mimicked, I was expecting those to be the highlight so when the other ones were a bit better I was surprised. Another really nice addition is that the materials they use are all compostable. I hate having to consistently tell people that we dont need straws at other places so it is really nice not having to think about it. (The shakes would have been worse without some sort of straw so it is great they do compostable). The service was great as well. Im very impressed! This is my first time dining at a vegan restaurant and the salmon genuinely confused me for a moment! The chimmichurri sauce was AMAZING...can I take a bucket of that home please? The fries DARE I SAY were some of the best I've had in Denver and the seasoning on them and the ranch were to die for. The cucumber salad was refreshing and had the perfect amount of acidity. We walked in and greeted with a smile from the cashier/server. She was more than happy to help us with suggestions from the menu. I chose the Cali Tempeh Power bowl while my partner had the American Chzburger with a side order of fries. The fries are very typical of many places, but it was crispy and perfectly salted. The burger was delicious and filled me up. It has a strong beef flavor while the tempe provided a chewy texture. The Buddha brunch bowl was hefty and had notes of sweetness from the pumpkin, umami from the mushroom and seeds, and saltiness from the combination of flavors. Wow!!!! I am so shocked at how good this place is. I got the Beyond Steak Filet Bowl with chimichurri sauce, Sweetheart fries (sweet potatoes), and jalapeño corn. It was so delicious. This was my first time at this great fast casual Grill near DU. They have a great menu of both Veggie and meat options. Salads, burgers, burritos, bowl plus fries and shakes. I had their steak burrito which was a very large portion with steak and guacamole, very tasty. I also had their cookie dough milkshake. As someone who used to be vegan (and vegetarian before that!), I've tried a lot of plant-based spots, and Veggie Grill was always a favorite when I visited California. When you first walk in, the place is busy (which is always a good sign), and everything seemed fairly clean. The employees were polite and very helpful. They had run out of cookies and cream milkshake, but that was okay. We ordered and the food was out in a matter of maybe 15 min. The dishes came out one by one instead of everyone's together. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of most of our entrees. I ordered the "steak" with chimichurri and jalapeño corn along with herb roasted potatoes. I also got a mint chocolate chip shake that was made with coconut ice cream. My daughter ordered the southwest salad, and my son basically got the same meal that I did except with carrots and fries. The steak was significantly smaller looking than the photo, but I was honestly glad not to have much more because it was filling. The flavor was decent on the steak, the texture was a bit soft--like the canned meat from those stews, but the chimichurri was very tasty and took it to a new level! The herb roasted potatoes were better than my son's fries. The fries had an odd chewiness to them, but good flavor. I also enjoyed my corn more than his carrots, but both were excellent. My daughter's salad was quite spicy! They also drowned the lettuce in too much dressing and it didn't fill up the bowl very well. I would probably just ask for extra lettuce if you decide to order that salad. The flavor of her salad was really good despite the spice level. Onto the milkshake--I don't recommend using coconut ice cream with the mint flavor. It just didn't go well and the vegan chocolate was quite hard and gritty. The textures were off for a milkshake. There are just some things that cows do better, and milkshakes are one of those things. The chocolate chunks in the shake were also too big to suck up through the straw--and they even gave me one of those jumbo straws that are used for boba. Was looking forward to try this place out as the food options looked delicious and included some healthy options. I ordered the Buffalo wrap for take out and it took longer than expected to prepare. Once it was ready, I checked my ordered and noticed a hair in the wrap- I let a worker know who was present and he kindly asked the staff to make another one. He wasn't working at the moment but he kindly checked in on me and offered me a free cookie- did not hear anything from the current staff afterwords just had me waiting once again (wait time about 30 minutes for just a wrap) The hair wasn't the problem but the food. I was recommended to order the wrap and by the time I got home the wrap had leaked through the bag into my car. You can't tell what's in the wrap because of how much Buffalo is in it that it overpowers all the other ingredients- I ate half of it cause I was hungry but threw the rest away because of how soggy it was. The wrap was recommended to me by the worker present as one of their best wraps so I cannot imagine what the other ones must be like. My first time at Next Level definitely won't be my last! Glenda has been there before and she has been encouraging me to visit. Walking in, the vibe felt very comfortable, the restaurant was spotlessly clean. The counter help walked me through some dining ideas, Glenda already knew what she was going to order. She got the Loaded Burrito made with walnuts and she was in heaven. They added a portion of ghost salsa and let me tell you, when I sampled the flavor, the salsa brought tears to my eyes. Wow! I got the Kimchi steak bowl and it was one of the best 'salads' I've had in many years. Filled with delicious greens, roasted and marinated carrots, avocado and their marinated meatless steak. The combo was a total winner, it was so large, brought half home and Glenda had lunch the next day. The sleeper of the meal was the Peanut Crushed Nut Coconut Shake. The guy behind the counter was very helpful and accommodating knowing it was my first time here. I ordered the spicy Chipotle Black Bean burger and chili cheese fries and two shakes: the organic orange cream and the peanut butter cup. The food was pretty good, although it could've been a little more flavorful. Burger was kinda smaller than I expected, but there was good quantity of the chili cheese fries. A little pricey and a tad lacking in portion, but what makes up for it is that they offer wholesome quality vegan food here. Would I come back? I had this place on my list of places to try, and I so I did. The only problem is that I FORGOT that everything on the menu is plant-based, even the menu items with names like chik'n, steak, or salmon. I love that, and I love that they use all-organic ingredients. This is the good, clean kind of eating I like to do. So, I had the Signature Veggie Burger, and my wife had the Citrus Glazed Tofu Bowl. We were both very pleased with our choices. Both were tasty, satisfying, and priced fairly. I've tried a lot of "house made" veggie burgers, and they are all a lot the same. The biggest problem with this kind of patty is that no one seems to be able to find a way to stick everything together. In other words, the patties fall apart when you squeeze them, and bite into them. In that regard, this one did that, too. I did, however, like the color, the consistency, and the flavor of this one, and I would order it again. I liked the whole grain bun, too. I would order this again, and I would recommend it to anyone. My wife said her bowl was great, and it was the best she had ever had. When I saw the tofu, I thought it was going to be like the "soft" tofu you get in Chinese restaurants where it is breaded, and deep fried. It looked like that, but it wasn't gushy. They made it in a similar manner, but they used firm tofu, and it wasn't greasy at all. The glaze was perfect. It augmented the flavor of the bowl without dominating it. It was perfect on the fresh vegetables, and brown rice. All in all, I was very pleased with this restaurant, with the staff, and with the product.
