I've been following them since their earlier days popping up at Zeppelin Station, and every time I eat there I'm reminded why people line up for these sandwiches. The menu has evolved over the years, but that's part of the fun. They've kept some favorites while continuing to add new things to try. The sandwiches are always incredibly well executed. Simple in concept, but every ingredient feels intentional and high quality. It's one of those places where you take a bite and immediately understand the hype. After seeing countless others try this famed pop-up on TikTok, my friend and I wanted to see if it was worth the hype and let's just say, we left full and happy! Being that Sandoitchi operates out of The Source, parking is hard to come by. We arrived early and opted to park in the front lot for $10/hour + half, which ended up being the perfect amount of time. Otherwise, parking in the back garage is also available, for a small fee. Upon entry, we were greeted by friendly staff and an empty dining area - score! After seeing lines around the block online, an empty space was a win in my book! My friend and I are likeminded in the sense that we wanted to try many of the options and opted to try one of every single sando on the menu - all seven of them - along with a side of fries, cucumber salad and three drinks - the yuzu Arnold palmer, mango ube lassi and the hazelnut hojicha latte! Everything came out quickly - drinks first! The yuzu Arnold was refreshing and sweet, while the mango ube lassi was pretty in presentation and delicious. While the latte tasted good upon first sip, it gave more milkshake vibes with a cookie crumble, which wasn't the vibe first thing in the morning. The food itself is not only stunning and visually appealing, but tasty too! Being that I wanted to sample everything, my friend and I split each half of the sandos, with plenty of leftovers. The egg sando was SO good, and reignited my love for egg salad, while the wagyu and truffle chicken were also delicious! I'd recommend the chicken club, for my less adventurous friends and pass on the strawberry cream sando. Sure, it's pretty but literally 3 strawberries with whipped cream. I'll echo Makayla in that the bread is insane soft, white bread. SO soft that the first bite sticks to the roof of your mouth, but a perfect blend of sweetness in the bread to savory fixin's inside. The sides were stellar, because you can't go wrong with curly fries as the crisp cucumbers in their sesame oil- soy-sauce- chili- glaze, was refreshing with a bite! Prices are on point, highlighting the quality of ingredients, precision in creation and tastiness. Overall - it's worth the hype and could easily spend another morning savoring Sandoitchi! read more

Doh- I was really hopeful and excited; I'd participated in another Sandoitchi back in 2020 (peak pandemic) and really liked my pickup then. Welp I had such high expectations this go and it honestly didn't live up to my expectations. I ordered the spicy cucumber salad and a spicy truffle katsu sandwich to-go. When I got home, I was shocked to find the cucumber container had leaked and gotten the dressing dripping thru the paper bag. Upon tasting- it was kinda creamy but not spicy; the cucumbers could've definitely marinated a little longer to get more flavor. That Katsu sandwich was underwhelming. The hot sauce just tasted watery. There were no notes of truffle to be found. It just wasn't at all what I'd remembered. :-/ read more

Do not be tempted to visit this place. First of all, they moved and didn't bother to update to a new address. Took awhile to find the new location. Zero signage anywhere . That alone was irritating. The blueberry matcha was the worse matcha I've had, completely inedible. It tasted so weird and nothing like blueberries. It went into trash . The worse part were the extremely overpriced sandwiches. I got excited since I've been to Japan and had them there. The strawberry sandwich was soggy and strawberries were half fermented. Clearly that sandwich wasn't made fresh to order . Nasty. Other sandwich with chicken was inedible too. I'm not a picky eater but this location really annoyed me because I wasted all this money for that food and a drink to end up in a trash. We saw this pop up on social media and wanted to try it! I just got back from Tokyo so of course I was craving this. They also have a horchata matcha latte that my fiancé wanted to try. We got the strawberry sandwich, classic pork katsu, and an egg salad. My fiancé loved his horchata matcha latte. He also went back in to get a regular matcha latte when he finished it. All the sandwiches were delicious! My only gripe is that the prices were high for what it is. read more

Very surprised after I saw these ratings on Yelp! This place makes such amazing sandwiches - love it! These sandoitchis took me back to Japan!! We got the truffle and the katsu sandwich - both amazing! Very generous portions of meat in both sandwiches. The other highlight for us was the Ube mango lassi - may not sound as good but tastes delicious! I never knew mango lassi and Ube could taste so good together. The Ube is also really creamy and nice. Loved it and highly recommend it. This place is located within the source hotel so you get 30 min free parking which is nice. read more

I've been seeing Sandoitchi online for a few weeks now and I finally made time to come in and I'm so glad I did! It's been quite a while since I've been to The Source so I was timid of the parking situation. I was able to park out front and zipped right in/out. Now the matcha....I was tempted to get the matcha float since their soft serve is made in house, but I opted for a simple matcha latte to try out this time around. The flavor was on point and not super sweet, which I was worried about it being in your face sweet. The oatmilk didn't over power the matcha, yet complimented it beautifully! Service was super fast! I like the pop-up feel of it, but I truly think it should stay a staple in The Source! I can't wait to come back and try another matcha and some food!!! read more

Yeah this place is pretty terrible. Firstly their location changed and at the time we went they didn't update anywhere so it was a goose chase. It is also CRIMINAL how much they charge for those little nasty sandwiches. I've been to Japan and the 7/11 sandwiches were like $2 and soooooo much better/fresher. I don't understand how their sandwiches get soggy in half a second. The strawberries were also on their way out. Terrible place I'm very disappointed. Originally from Dallas, Sandoitchi returns for another Denver pop-up. The craze for matcha, ube, shokupan, and Japanese goods in general shows no sign of abating, and locals showed up en masse during the first weekend. It was one of my first weekends seeing Reunion bakery without a line as it seemed to have been copy-pasted outside of Sandoitchi. The feel is somewhat commercialized - clean lines and polished menus reminiscent of upscale fast food. Having also been to Eloise recently, we were pretty excited to compare these sandwiches. But! DON'T SLEEP ON THE DRINKS. We ordered with one staffmember at the bar where the bev-master was also shaking up drinks nonstop. The kitchen itself is located on the opposite wall, adjacent to a giant screen which was playing some highlights of La Liga for the fútbol fans waiting there. Or maybe for the staff. There's a handful of tables for dining in, as well as a row of chairs against the wall for people just looking to takeout. It was pretty busy so we did wait a bit for both our drinks and food, but luckily it was a nice day so we were able to eat at one of the Source tables outside. Remember how I said don't sleep on the drinks? These were the most memorable parts of the meal. Mango Ube Lassi was just a DECADENT flavor-bomb of nectary mango layered with even more creamy nuttiness from the ube. Surprisingly even for someone like me who's pretty sensitive to sweetness, the tartness of the yogurt was balancing I finished in record-time while fending off my stealthy sips from the boyfriend. The Strawberry Matcha Latte was also tasty and densely flavored. Sandwich wise - we liked the Wagyu Katsu Sando but this tasted more like an elevated hamburger, and the Spicy Truffle Chicken Katsu tasted like bread around a buffalo chicken wing with the smallest whiff of truffle. For dessert lovers, the Strawberry Cream Sando tastes exactly like what you'd expect whipped cream, strawberries, and soft milkbread to taste like. If we drop by again, it'll most likely be to slurp up some of their drinks rather than dine, but glad that Sandoitchi brought their team to us Denverites to try! read more

Went to check out this pop-up store and enjoyed some of their sandwiches. Their bread tasted like something in between American white bread and Japanese milk bread. Overall, pretty good although pricey. - egg salad sando: not a super bold flavor, maybe missing a little more salt but I still enjoyed it - curry ebi sando: good flavor and looks like one of their more labor intensive sandos - spicy truffle chicken katsu sando: not spicy (maybe a hint), flavor profile somewhat reminds me of buffalo sauce - strawberry cream sando: strawberry is only in the middle where they slice the sando but refreshing and a nice sweet treat - friend fries: tastes like any other curly fries from frozen - hazelnut hojicha latte: it was fine, I felt like it was more hazelnut than hojicha, sea salt cream could be saltier There was a consistent line of about 10 parties but it seemed to move at a constant pace. I had heard so much about this pop up, I was excited to see what they were talking about. The customer service was great, however the food was not. I ordered the Chicken Parm Katsu Sando, the Potato Croquettes, and the Horchata Matcha Latte. The croquettes were said to have ground beef and onions in them. They were pretty bland and the ground beef pieces were so minuscule. Also the texture threw me off, they were too soft. I definitely would not order it again. The chicken parm katsu sando was pretty good, I just wish it was cheesier and saucier. The bread was out of this world soft, and the chicken was tender. For the drink, it s was the most enjoyable part. It was cinnamony yet not gritty or chalky and the sweetness wasn't too much. I can't say that I'd be back but I'm no longer suffering from FOMO so a win is a win i suppose. read more

This is a pop-up shop inside The Source Hotel. They are based in Dallas, TX and are testing out the waters here in Denver, CO. There are 2 parking areas: smaller outdoor one (free for 30 minutes) and a paid parking building. The lobby of The Source is pretty expansive and lined with other stores. I didn't have much time to check out the other stores since I jumped into line. They allowed a controlled entrance into the eatery. Directly facing the entrance was the bar where they made the food. To the right was the bar where they made the drinks. In between them were tables for diners and several chairs lined the wall on the left for people ordering to-go. I ordered 2 wagyu sandos, 2 spicy truffle chicken sandos, an ube mango lassi and a hazelnut hochija latte to share with the family. Both sandos were delicious. The chicken was more spicy vs truffled. Both drinks were delicious and are a must-repeat. They are at the current location in The Source Hotel until 3/7/72026. Go visit while they're still there. I went on a snow day Friday afternoon and still waited 20 minutes to order. - The Spicy Truffle Chicken Katsu Sando wasn't spicy but the chicken was good quality and the sandwich was flavorful with pillow soft bread. Out of three friends and I, only one person chose it over the Egg Salad Sando. - The Egg Salad Sando was surprisingly good as someone who's not a fan of egg salad. The sandwich has hard boiled eggs with a jelly yolk and perfect creaminess. I'd go back for this sandwich! - The Elote Corn Karaage is a must try, my favorite out of the three items. The mini corn has a crispy fried outside and a delicious tangy cream sauce overtop. The food is well-balanced and flavorful. Food & Drinks: - Spicy Truffle Chicken Katsu Sando: This was delicious. It has a hint of spice that builds as you eat, but it's not more than a medium spice. The chicken katsu was so crispy and crunchy, and the combination of all the flavors blended perfectly. - Wagyu Burger Katsu Sando: This had a delicious sauce and a great crunch to it. They put something crispy inside, similar to that katsu chicken crunch. - Elite Corn Karaage: These were delicious! They have a hint of spice with cheese. They're elote corn or as my mother-in-law says, baby corns. - Strawberry Cream Sando: This was light and airy whipped cream with a delicious strawberry taste. - Mango Ube Lassi: They put mango purée on the bottom with oat milk and ube cold foam on top. My mother-in-law thinks it tastes like butterscotch, but I think it tastes like ube mixed with mango. The combination was perfectly sweet to me. Not too much or too little. It was like a light dessert in a cup. - Yuzu Arnold Palmer: This was refreshing and tasted just like mango tea. Service: The service was great and everyone was friendly. We waited in line for about 12-15 minutes to order. The service was quick. From the time we ordered until we received our food was only 8-10 minutes. Just found out you can order ahead online. Parking: Parking is free! Just make sure to read the signs because some have a time limit and then you have to pay. Atmosphere: They have seating available to eat both inside and outside of their pop-up. Overall Experience: I honestly think this one is a 10 out of 10 for me. People really hyped this place up and I was super disappointed. Tried their pop up in Denver since it was there second time coming here. I was able to get there early enough so I didn't have to wait in line long. I got the spicy chicken katsu ($14) and the peaches & cream ($12) I was expecting spicy truffle to have a bit of a kick, but nothing spicy about it. Maybe they toned it down because it's Denver, who knows? The peaches & cream sando was better in my option. Not to overly sweet and the peaches weren't too ripe to where it gets soggy. First time trying a fruit sandwich which is surprising for me since I've been to Japan before. Saw this place at 626 Night Market so had to try it out. The sandwich itself was actually surprisingly good. The bread was light and fluffy, and the whip cream was slightly sweet which contrasted really well with the tangy fruits. Wish they put more fruits because you could only see them in the middle of the sandwich, but its nice to try 4 "different" fruit sandwich flavors. Overall, its a pretty damn good sandwich. I think the next time I go to Japan I will definitely try it out again, because not sure I'm willing to shell out $11 again for 4 fruits and whipped cream in 2 white breads in the States. read more

For an "immediately sold out" sando pop-up I had high hopes, especially since I love me some sandos and it can hard to find good ones. I will say this place is well-organized, with fast easy ordering and pickup, and very friendly staff. However at the end of the day I could care less about all that because it comes down to the food, and the food here was...more than disappointing. Cucumber salad - this was slimy without much going on, and that's saying a lot for a cucumber salad which is already gentle on the flavor. To me this should be the epitome of refreshing with crisp cucumber slices and a pleasant sour tang from a nice rice vinegar balanced with some sugar and maybe even soy sauce. This looked like it had a lot going on but taste-wise it was just slimy cucumbers. Egg Salad Sando ($10) - The slightly soft-boiled eggs was a good touch but the flavor and texture here is all wrong. Yolk-forward with a light mayo flavor, perhaps heavy on the pepper and full of that gelatinous diced egg texture. However it had none of the characteristics of the silky smooth luxurious flavor and texture I've come to expect from a good japanese egg salad sando. Egg salad is simple but all about a balance that is easy to destroy. This egg salad lacked the creamy and silky flavor/texture it needed. Even having a sliced cucumber layer would be nice. The bread here is also lacking in fluffy lightness, and they left the crust on one side which is straight blasphemy for a sando. Spicy chicken katsu sando ($14) - The spiciness was a bit fun here, like a buffalo sauce with the heat turned up. But the chicken was a tad dry and also lacking in the flavor department despite the aggressive sauce. For the price and rarity of this pop-up there is much to be desired, and for now I'd stick to tokyo central/mitsuwa egg salad sandos and bottle logic epicurean katsu sandos if you want something more worth it in the area. read more

Best one was hot truffle chicken. If you switched it up while eating the egg salad at the same time, it would be better. The fruit Sandos are worth a try. I also got the egg salad Sando and although it is yummy, it's not life changing. I like pepper but it was heavy on the pepper and lacking in other flavor. Not worth the price. I had never been to Zeppelin Station where the pop up was. I couldn't find free parking and it was not a quick drive there for me. If there was a pop up or permanent location in a more convenient area for me, I'd go again for the fruit sando but otherwise this is prob one and done for me. Also I had meant to try it when it had its pop-up in San Francisco but there it sold out very quickly. My friend got the chicken katsu and it came out very quickly and was very fresh. She enjoyed it! I also enjoyed the fruit cream sandwich, but I Just can't justify paying $12 for it. There was a little bit of fruit, but overall the fruit, bread, and cream were all decent quality. I was excited for the Sandoitchi OC pop-up. I ordered when their site opened up and picked Sunday as my pick-up day. My cousin and I decided on the egg salad, pork katsu, hot chicken katsu, and strawberry matcha sandwiches. The wagyu was tempting but we decided against it. I was also excited to see that Sandoitchi went to teach John Legend how to make their famous egg salad sandwiches and serve them the katsu sandwiches they've been featuring in OC. I arrived shortly after my pick-up time and was the 2nd person in line. I gave the checker my name and order number and she went inside to grab my order. By the time my order came out, there was an even longer line behind me. The order was prepacked in each bag with our name and order attached on the outside. There were a few tables set aside under umbrellas for our use. We sat down and took some pictures of the food before digging in. We split the entire order so we got to try one of everything. It was really tasty. We especially loved the egg salad and strawberry matcha on the soft Japanese milk bread. The katsu sandwiches were good but we would have liked the katsu to be crunchier and more balanced with the slaw. The hot chicken was my favorite of the two katsu sandwiches but if I were going to order again, I'd get just the egg and the strawberry. They're in OC for just one more week and last I heard, they sold out of the menu in 12 minutes. read more

I was excited about trying these delicious Sandos... but honestly it was a let down. This is a pop up currently in OC for about two weeks! The Hot Truffle Chicken Katsu is the best one of the ones I tried. Juicy chicken with a spicy kick to it and the sauce wasn't overpowering. But the truffle was faint or not there since I forgot there was even truffle until I looked at the menu again. The Strawberry and Matcha Sando was weird. I'm not sure how this was going to taste but it wasn't as good as others have said. The bread is what makes it strange... the sourness of the strawberry and sweetness of the matcha cream (barely any matcha taste) with the white sandwich bread did not taste well together.... Also we found a stapler in this Sando! Yes FOUND A STAPLER. The $100 A5 Wagyu Sando.... it wasn't worth it. I think they overcooked it because it was SUPER CHEWY and hard to bite into! No melt in your mouth, tenderness, or buttery soft kind of Wagyu... it was tough and so hard to bite down on.... Overall... it was just okay. It's good to try once and that's it. Tried Sandoitchi during their pop-up in the OC because of all the hype. I had never heard of them until a Texan friend insisted they were the bee's knees. So, I was ready at "online drop" and ordered the chicken katsu, pork katsu, and strawberry match sandos. The wagyu was not available to order, and in hindsight I'm glad it wasn't. When we went to pickup the order it was clear that there was some disorganization in terms of expectations. Emails and order summary made it clear we were to wait until we got an email saying our order was ready before lining up but we never got that email. Line was rather long although the two staff members worked as quickly as they could to get the orders out. Food-wise, it was very disappointing. It wasn't bad, but for what I paid I expected higher quality bread and tastier fare. It just all felt very average and not very impressive. I could not taste the matcha in the strawberry matcha and the pork katsu tasted like something I could pick up in the deli section of a Japanese supermarket. The bread was forgettable. Because of this, I am actually glad the wagyu wasn't available. Way overhyped. Would not return if they were to come back to this area. read more

This sando pop-up was EXTREMELY hyped up on Instagram, and you have to preorder a week in advance within the small window that they're on sale for (before they sell out). Then you choose a designated time slot to pick it up. I managed to snag a few on the last week - 2 hot chicken truffle ($13 each) and one egg salad sando ($10) - and was really looking forward to seeing what it was all about. And yeah I was honestly so disappointed because the chicken katsu wasn't even crispy!?? That in itself was just offensive. The egg salad was also super bland... maybe that's just the subtle taste of it but a little more seasoning wouldn't hurt!!! Wanted to love these sandwiches but they were subpar at best. read more

Been seeing posts about this pop up on Instagram and TikTok and decided to give it a try. I ordered the egg salad ($10) and pork katsu ($13) sandwiches. I'm sorry to say everything was sooooo bland. I could just be eating the white bread for all the flavor these sandwiches had. So disappointed. This is one of those things that looks better on posts than reality.
