Amazing Bahn Mi! My boyfriend and I are always on a quest to find the best bahmi place in Denver are. We stumbled upon this cute shop near Alameda and Federal. I would say the price is very fair and the two other snacks we grabbed from the restaurant was delicious as well. We will definitely come back to try other things!

In recent years, CO has seen an uptake in banh mi spots opening across the state but Bakers Palace still remains number one in my heart. I have tried other locations but they are just decent compared to bakers palace. It still reigns supreme and sometimes it's better than banh mi locations I've tried in California and Texas. Don't judge a book by its over. It may seem a little run down if you look at it from the outside but the food just speaks for itself. It is a family owned banh mi shop where they have a variety of banh mi, che, boba drinks, steam buns, and pate chaud. The baguette is baked at Bakers Palace and it just tastes wonderfully. You can throw it in the air fryer the next day and it'll be fine. The pate banh mi is my favorite. We ask the vegetables on the side so we can set it up to our preference and the banh mi won't become soggy if we decide to eat it later. The pate chaud and steam buns are one of my favorite breakfast items I buy to save for the next day. The steam bun is quite big but it has a lot of stuff inside. Unlike other places I've tried, the steam bun bread is still very soft and moist. It doesn't taste like freezer burn which is nice. The pate chaud is just one of the best here. It's a nice balance between pastry and meat.

LOVE their pork Bao! The chicken with sausage and sticky rice is amazing! And their sandwiches! But definitely the Bao is a top contender!

One of my favorite Vietnamese bakeries in the area. It truly is a hole in the wall type of place. It is very small with an equally small, slightly sketchy looking parking lot. The interior is a no frills or deco type of bakery and is all grab and go. They aren't as busy or offer as much items as their competitors, but I wouldn't write them off because of it. I'm happy to say that their deals on the sandwiches (buy 5 get 1 free) and the pate chaud or banh bao (buy 10 get 1 free) are still going strong. We ordered 2 sandwiches, 10 pate chaud and 1 banh bao for my son. Everything we had tasted delicious and the prices were decent in comparison to their competitors. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food. I did feel like my grilled pork sandwich could've used my meat in it, but that's my only complaint. I do prefer their pate chaud over most of the other bakeries in the area though. The flavor is just so much better.

On my way to tend to other business on Federal, I noticed the flashing OPEN neon sign at this unassuming hole in the wall. Once I saw Tiem Banh Mi, I knew I had to stop by. Turns out the actual name of the Vietnamese sandwich shop is Baker's Palace. How cute. Before I walked in I noticed all the steam and condensation that was building up inside the windows and doors. They were obviously cooking up something. Hopefully something good. So far I've been underwhelmed with the sandwich shops in Denver. They just don't remind me of the ones I had growing up in Houston. I will tell you that this place comes pretty close. I ordered the THIT NUONG Banh mi. I loved it. Crisp exterior and chewy interior to the baguette. Succulent pork meat. The right ratio of Pickled radish and carrot. Fresh cilantro and jalapeño slices. All it really needed was an order of pate inside and it would have been sensational. Nonetheless a very respectable and courteous sandwich shop experience. It just happens to be a few doors down from the behemoth New Saigon Banh mi shop. But I will tell you this one is much better.

Great banh mi shop that has been around for a while now and still serves the best in Denver. Bread is always fresh, crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. Buy 5 sandwiches and get the 6th for free. Definitely worth checking out if you love banh mi.

Friendly and fast lunch! Banh Mi was good and fresh. Meat could have been more plentiful and flavorful, but still all around yummy. Steamed bun surprised me with a little egg in it, which I enjoyed. Strong flavor of black pepper wasn't my preference, but still yummy and filling.

This the first time I've been here, but definitely not the last. This is a small mom and pop shop so expect to wait for your food. I ordered a grilled pork banh mi and a mixed fruits chè. Both were delicious!! The banh mi was full of veggies and the pork was super tender. The pork was very savory and probably the least sweet of all the banh mi places I've tried. However, I love how savory each bite was. The bread was perfect! Crunchy but doesn't cut the roof of your mouth and super airy. The che was very sweet and 80% toppings! The owners were super nice as well! This might be my new go to banh mi shop!

Simple fact: The best Asian food is found in hole-in-the-Wall places like Baker's Palace. Go to PF Chang's for impressive decor, high prices, and generic Asian. A delightful little square savory meat pie in a delicate flaky crust for breakfast, and a couple of huge spring rolls for lunch, set me back less than $6.00. I'd love to return to discover what everything else is! My only suggestion to the Baker would be to place more descriptive signs out (in English) so we know what's on the menu!

The Boulevard this shop sits on is full of Vietnamese sandwich/drinks stores. I come here because it's fresh, the people are always so nice, they take credit card with no minimum (this seems to be a problem at the other places because one sandwich is under $4 but with a card, you need to buy more. Kind of defeats the purpose if you came here for a quality low priced meal). Most sandwiches are under $4, very traditional and a wide variety of drinks! I def recommend this place and have been coming here since I was a little girl (for over 20 years). One thing is that the coffee ordered is always gone in a few sips bc the cup is full of ice. The coffee is so strong so perhaps we don't need that much but it feels a little over priced to be gone that fast. Good coffee though! Just one small point of truthful feedback :) I'll still order it though!

You must be driving west on Alameda to access the parking lot. There is a large sign there. You can enter the market from the main entrance facing Alameda or from the back entrance off the parking lot. The front of the store has a long wall of imported groceries and a bakery counter offering breads, pastries, quiches, fresh sandwiches (on baguette, croissant, or pretzel bun), soups, salads, and a wide variety of imported chips and drinks. There's a huge cheese cooler and lots of chilled, grab-and-go items. A table offers some kitchenware and gifts. A seating area is provided by the parking lot entrance. I'm on the mailing list which has offered a series of food specials and pop-up events. I was enticed in last weekend by a pop-up cassoulet special. I arrived to find a tent at the edge of the parking lot, sheltering a huge propane wok. The white beans, sausage, and pork belly were gently simmering with a wonderful aroma. What a treat!

I went here right after my blood work at a nearby medical facility (LOL! Oh boy, I was hungry as I…read morewas fasting!) A thought of freshly made sandwich sounded so good so before I went in for the blood work, I did a little search on Yelp to find some new sandwich places and this shop is/was one of the suggested ones. As I am always looking for a new business to try (this store was also up the street from where I would be for the medical appointment), I wasted no time to rush to this new deli to check it out. As of early September 2025, there are only several reviews posted for them; this is an indication that this business had just opened. Based on what those people said, it sounded like a solid business. The store is on the northeast corner of Downing and Alameda. Although this is not a super big intersection, it sure is a busy one. And yet, its exterior appearance (they have two doors: one facing Alameda and the other facing the parking lot) is somewhat inconspicuous or unassuming (it could be good and bad at the same time.) Had I driven by it, I would only notice the Italian restaurant (Olivia) on one corner or Starbucks (on the other corner). Hopefully they are getting much needed attention from people that pass by it. I entered the store using the door facing the parking lot. This is where you will see the seating area. And to get to the rest of it, you will pass the register on the right. Once you make that left turn you will see more stuff that this store offers. Most of the grocery items are on the left side along the wall. Then there is the fantastic-looking cheese room to the right. The deli counter is at the end where the workers will make your sandwich. There is also a showcase where they display some sweet stuff/cakes (they looked pretty good by the way.) This is quite the space (so if you look down from the top/ceiling (not that you can do that), this store is L shaped.) One of the workers (a lady who was at the register) cheerfully greeted me. I already knew what I wanted (as I peeked their sandwich menu ahead of time). It appears to be a limited time item and it's called "The Saint Tropez". Simply put, this is a tuna salad sandwich on a freshly baked French baguette. As the little info sheet at the register says, this is a light, cold summer offering that is perfect for warm weather cravings. I simply couldn't think of anything else so without doing anything further, I immediately asked for this summer sandwich. The price is $15.99 (and after tax, it's $17 with some change. Not necessarily super reasonable (I thought) but I was more focused on the quality of it.) While the lady was making my sandwich, I looked around the store to take some photos. I spotted some interesting European grocery items that we don't normally see at our local grocery chain but I was most impressed with the refrigerated cheese room. I don't eat a lot of cheese anymore and yet, this store's selection is quite large where if you are needing some cheeses for your next gathering (holidays etc.) then you might consider this place to find some interesting kind(s). It didn't take long for the lady to make my sandwich. As I came out of the beautiful cheese room, she handed me a long/skinny sandwich that was wrapped in a white butcher paper. As soon as I got to my car, I immediately started devouring my sandwich. And it did not disappoint. The crispy French baguette was most delicious and was picture-worthy looking. The tuna salad (house made) wasn't overloaded with mayo-type marinade/sauce. Some slices of tomatoes, plenty of arugula, and noticeable amount of hard boiled egg slices. It was cut in half in the middle but I didn't take any break between the halves (told you, I was hungry after fasting for hours!!) This is a nice deli to have within our reach. I bet on a beautiful weekend, they get a good amount of foot traffic because people can stop by here to grab a delicious sandwich and go to Wash Park for a little picnic. Sounds like a great idea to me!

There's no performance here, no hospitality theater, no one asking how the first few bites are treating you. You walk up to the counter, you order, you take a number, you sit down. The food does the talking. And the food has a lot to say. I went on a bright Wednesday morning with a couple of friends and ordered the classic breakfast, swapping bacon for pastrami (a first for me) with an everything biscuit on the side (also a first). Both were revelations. The eggs over-hard might be the best version of that order I've ever gotten from a restaurant -- just a whisper of uncooked yolk in the center, perfectly seared on both sides. Skillet potatoes were spot-on. The skillet pastrami was rich and properly crisped at the edges. And the two generous slices of sourdough arrived with a scratch-made blueberry jam that I ended up smearing on everything I could -- sourdough, biscuit, probably would've eaten it with a spoon if no one was looking. My friend ordered the breakfast sandwich, which clearly belongs in the staples category. The baguette was the star: toasted outside, pillow-soft inside, zero tug-of-war with your teeth. That detail alone tells you the kitchen cares. This is the Ron Swanson part: there's an unapologetic confidence to this place. They know exactly what they're doing, they're not trying to oversell it, and they're not interested in charming you into liking it. They're just going to hand you something excellent and trust you to figure out the rest. The coffee was good. The food was setting-a-benchmark good. A real 5 out of 5 stars, no pickin nits. Mild observation, not a complaint: the service is counter-only, no traditional table service. Would Matthew McConaughey or Reese Witherspoon dropping plates off elevate the experience? Sure. But Ron wouldn't have it any other way, and honestly, neither would I after eating here. If I lived within 45 minutes of downtown Denver, this would be my destination breakfast. As it is, I'm a 12 hour drive away, and if it were only 11, perhaps I'd go tomorrow. The real downside? The food was so good I completely forgot to take a picture.
