Today's visit, I got the combo and coffee for $10. Price has been climbing/creeping up slowly and I don't blame them. Almost everything cost more these days including labor. Vietnamese coffee is usually dripped early of the day and when you order it, they put ice on it and it's ready to go. Does this practice makes the coffee taste not so fresh? What do you think? Today's bahn-mi bread wasn't crunch like in the past and felt little heavier than others times and flavor was little off. I was reading other Yelpers reviews and yes, I do agree. The employees are not the friendliest people around and probably passed down from the lady owner who isn't that better off. Today's visit, cashier and sandwich maker were all new faces. Lots of turn overs? My $10 were welll spent but may try other bakeries nearby on my next trip.

This place used to be one of my favorite spots in town, but their food quality and customer service have absolutely tanked over the years. No wonder no one is ever inside! Buying from bahn mi across the street from now on!

Bahn mi seems to be hard to find in Denver but this place definitely hits the spot. It's also cheap. Only $5 for any bahn mi. I had one with fried egg and it was delicious. I do kind of wish they asked if I wanted chilli or not because that had my mouth burning for a good twenty minutes afterwards. Actually I take that back. I can still feel the burn while writing this! This review is also supported by the random other customer telling me that these are the best bahn mi's in Denver.

Yummy banh mi, I took it home and reheated it the next morning, still very fresh. My friend enjoyed his pandan waffle too.

Came here on a whim cause I was wanting a banh mi and hadn't tried one yet since I moved. The banh mi was pretty good. Both were $6 each which is pricier than what I'm used to in the past. I feel like there could've been a little more meat inside but the flavors were really good. The people were nice and friendly and got my order out super quick. I would definitely stop by here again I'm in the area :D

Best banh mi in Denver. So good I went 5 days in a row after I discounted it. The bread is toasted just right and the fillings are just enough. I always get the #3 combination. Oh and get a Vietnamese coffee with boba to finish it off!

    Positively the worst!

I rarely write bad reviews but had to let fellow Yelpers know. For $5 I thought, why not try it. I ordered BBQ Pork with no veggies. I came when they opened and I will say the pork had to be at least 3 days old. Dry, dry, dry! I can get by rude employees when the food is good, but couldn't help saying "Don't waste your money here"! I tried eating it there but had to take it home so I could sauce it up a bit. The bread was good and the place was pretty clean, but there isn't a chance in hell I will go past the 1-star. I suppose if you don't mind paying $5 for some vegetables it might be okay. I'm a meat lover though. I went based on fairly good reviews from others, but if you're not going to serve fresh cooked meats, then you shouldn't be serving them at all. P.S., as you can see from the photo, I had to push all the meat to one side and tear the bread in half so I could get equal bread to meat.

Pennyworth drink here (Rau ma) is made good here! Be warned if you haven't tried it yet, it taste like a green drink. When I say green drink this is meant to be healthy sort of like juice cleanse. Initially felt like it tasted like dirt but as you get use to it , it is enjoyable and very healthy! Would want to try the sugar cane here next time! I have not tried any of their food selection but banh mi sandwhich are usually my go to when going on hikes for lunch or quick picnic. Minimum $10 card so have cash with you if you plan on buying only one item.

I got such a horrible service & food experience at this place. Walking in the place, the seller gave me a look & I feeling like I am not welcome then when I asked her the question about the food whether it contains eggs or not. Not really happy about that attitude but I buy & pay. The pork bbq rolls are ok, peanut are ok, little over cooked but the crispy rice tastes like it has been sitting there for months, it costs me $12 but end up in trash, waste time & money for this place

Ba Le sandwiches used to be my go to for banh mi. But the times have changed. First the GOOD: authentic viet style sandwiches that used to be better. Good variety of stuffins, fresh veggies, just the right size bun. The BAD: they used to be better: meats, pate, hams, etc seem diminished in recent months. Flavors are still good but there's just less of it. And yeah, they're not the friendlies folks but it'll do. Other sammy places are catching up and sometimes surpassing Ba Le.

Note to self, to GET WAFFLES, do come early NOT late in the day. That was what happened to me, when I want to get Waffles from Ba Le Sandwiches sometime ago before this review. Hence, the next time I went to Ba Le Sandwiches, I went early as early like 09:50hrs early. So many times, I pass by this area, so many times I forgot Ba Le Sandwiches exists in my RADAR-NA-NU list. What?? Until now I got the chance to go to this Heavenly Goodness Err, Asian Sandwich Shop err for this time was the GREEN PANDAN FLAVORED WAFFLES... Ba Le Sandwiches, I cant deny, I have a MAJOR CRUSHED with you in this case more like a MAJOR CRAVING, for what else WAFFLES... Yes, its just WAFFLES that you can make @ home. But since I DO NOT HAVE A WAFFLE Maker @ home, to this Ba Le Sandwiches I went to satisfy those cravings... Was here with A.W, before our Dim Sum Brunch just a few down doors aka Star Kitchen, SUNDAY May 6th 2012. We ordered the Green Pandan Flavored Waffles, since we are not craving for any Sandwiches as yet. If I could recall correctly, each Waffle cost $1.50. I ordered 3 Waffles. We waited for our order to be ready. Once our order was ready, I cant resists to have a bite on those GREEN Pandan Flavored Waffles. My oh my, it just melt in my mouth... tickled me Green... Yet satisfy my long awaited cravings of Waffles, that reminds me of Home aka in this matter where I was born and raised. Ate one waffle there and the rest I brought home, to be devoured at my own time at my own pace. For this Ba Le Sandwiches, you get 3 Stars in my books. Among other things, at least the ladies behind the counter are helpful to tell you what's this and that if you are not sure of your purchase of those bakery goods both sweet or savory. Hence this helps you what to decide for your next purchase at Ba Le Sandwiches. @81/2012

When you think of Vietnamese, Americans tend to think of Pho, noodle bowls and lemongrass chicken but we need more places the focuses in home cooking and dishes that locals eat. Their claypots are a must order and with a side of rice....you'll be eating for days! The star of the night was the pork and calamari claypot which is cooked in shrimp paste and your favorite Vietnamese spices and herbs. You'll finish bowls of rice with this dish, it packs so much flavor that you'll be wanting more. It's a great mix of salty, sweet and umami from the fermented shrimp paste. The Vietnamese curry was thick and packed with succulent shrimp. The veggies at a very nice brightness to balance out the coconut milk. The last dish we had was a shrimp lemon grass in the clay pot and that was also a hit with everyone! Service is amazing and they definitely know how to recommend dishes to match your taste buds. First... each time we have gotten pho, they have given us about 5 small leaves of basil. Yes... that's it. Even the cheapest, bargain pho I have gotten at hole-in-the-wall places give a few big sprigs of basil (like 20 leaves). Basil is such a crucial component in pho, and it's very cheap and easy to grow so I don't get why this place skimps on it. Second, I ordered a rice bowl that is supposed to come with carrots and cucumbers. My order had about 5 little carrot slices and one (yes... ONE) slice of cucumber. I had to laugh at that pathetic little slice in a huge bed of rice. Again, a fairly cheap ingredient that they completely skimped on. It may seem like a small thing, but these are the details which make me decide if I want to order again from a place. Pho&Bar is not getting my business anymore.

The pho is very good and other meals have always been. I think it's on the pricier side here for everything. It gets so expensive to go out when a modest meal/drink set ya back $50. It's just pho! And a basic adult drink like super cheap house sake or tap beer. But anywho, this is our world now. Just going out less & less than I used to! They don't have any deals like happy hour. Multiple people asked when I was there so I hope they offer one someday. The sides for pho are pretty skimpy but there was no hesitation when I asked for more lime & basil.
