After a very bad experience with a slim shady company we hired to do our countertop and backsplash, we reached out to Paul to clean up the mess and finish the job. First of all he was one of the very few people that even called us back and was up front that he was booked out a month in advance but would love to do the job if that worked with our schedule. We got the estimate and decided to cross our fingers and hope for the best. All I can say is it was worth the wait! Paul and his whole crew were the utmost professionals. The communication was good, they showed up on time, worked hard, cared for our home and truly paid attention to detail which is most important. Any issues that came up along the way like crooked walls or problems from the previous work were addressed with us on the spot so there were never any surprises. They stuck to the original quote (which was very fair) and the work was phenomenal. My only regret is that we didn't hire them from the start of the project! But we are really relieved to know that any work we want to do in the future we don't have to shop around. If they had 20 stars, that's what they would get from us! read more

With new shower, flooring, tile, vanity, fixtures, etc. Paul and the Newlight team tranformed our early 80s era master bathroom from an eyesore into a beautiful, modern retreat that we look forward to enjoying for years to come. - Quality of workmanship was first class with meticulous attention to detail. More often than not, if we had a minor issue or correction, Paul had already spotted it and was making it right. - Communication was excellent throughout the process; from initial bid, to planning, job execution and follow-up. Newlight really stands out from the pack in this regard. - Work was priced competitively with no surprise change orders. We appreciated Paul's creative ideas to help us stay within our budget. - Team of employees and subs were hard working, professional and respectful of our home. After struggling for almost a year to find a contractor we were comfortable with, we are so glad we hired Newlight to complete our master bathroom remodel. We would use them again when the need arises and highly recommend!! read more

My entire experience with Newlight Tile Restoration has been truly a pleasure. I can't stress enough how much Paul and his team go the extra mile to make their customers happy. I'd give them more than 5 stars if I could! I needed my shower stall completely remodeled. After shopping around, Paul won me over with his up front honesty, knowledge expertise, professionalism and positive reputation. We thoroughly discussed job details, price quote, and scheduling before getting started. I met Richard on the first day of the job and can't say enough good things about him. From day one with demo all the way to the final day of completion, they stayed consistent with their professionalism, strong workmanship, attention to detail, and genuinely have your best interest at heart. Everyday on the job, Paul gave me his ETA and what work is being done that day. He always kept communication updating me with any issues they encountered. Paul and Richard make such a dynamic team. They put so much effort in their work and I promise the end result will definitely exceed your expectations. I contacted these guys on Sunday based on a referral from friend to see about a quote to regrout my kitchen. Within about 15 minutes, I was contacted by them and they scheduled an appointment for the following day. They give me a fair quote and started work the very next day. When I came home from work and saw that they had finished I was extremely pleased. It was literally like night and day. I guess I had gotten used to my filthy kitchen over the years because know seeing it re-grouted it's practically brand new. They even gave me care institutions so that I don't let it get get to the point where I need new grout for a while. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone. I've worked with Paul and his guys at Newlight on several projects over the last year and have had a great experience with them. As an interior designer, I am probably more picky than the average person and there have definitely been times when I've changed my mind last minute or added different design elements. Paul was always really understanding and supportive and never balked at change orders. They always showed up on time with smiles on their faces and the work turned out beautiful. read more

Last week I called and had Norm come give me an estimate for re-caulking my shower and kitchen counter. We are getting to within a couple years of selling, and don't want to spend too much on upgrades before we leave this home we've lived in since 1987. Norm gave a reasonable proposal and he started the 2-day job yesterday. Today I am so proud of the way my bathroom and kitchen tiles look - beautiful white grout and shiny tiles. Norm had put down tarps on the floor, and everything was clean both yesterday and today when he left. He's a nice, quiet worker. I recommend him highly. read more

There are really 3 things consumers care about when selecting a contractor: * Fair estimates/pricing * Quality of the work * Professionalism Paul and his team rate a 10/10 on all three of those areas! I could not recommend a contractor more, for any type of remodeling work in your home. * Fair estimates/pricing: Paul uses his years of experience and insight to provide extremely fair and honest estimates while giving great recommendations for sourcing the best materials at the best prices. He has an amazing design sense and can recommend ideas you hadn't previously thought of or make you aware of better options/alternatives. In the two jobs Paul has done for us (kitchen back-splash and hardwood floor/stairwell installation) the final amount paid and the initial estimates were nearly identical. He will stay true to his estimate and not tack on additional costs as the projects come to completion. * Quality of the work: At the end of the day this is the most important thing and the quality of Paul and his teams work is truly outstanding. We could not be more happy with the work he did in our kitchen and on our hardwood floor and stairway design and installation. All of the subcontractors Paul hired were clearly the best in the business as well. * Professionalism: To me this is where Paul really sets himself apart from other contractors. He treats you as his customer with the utmost respect, is extremely fast to reply to emails/phone calls, is very organized, takes complete ownership of working with all of his subcontractors and ensuring their work is up to his high standards of quality and execution. At the end of the day Paul makes you feel like you are his only customer/job and is fully dedicated to making sure you are comfortable and satisfied throughout the life of the project. As a small example, my wife was pregnant during and works from home. During the painting portion of a recent job, Paul worked extra hard make sure her home office was safe from the fumes and provided her with very high quality masks to wear to be doubly safe. This extra touch meant a lot to us. I would highly recommend Paul and NewLight tile to anyone in Orange County for nearly any type of home remodeling work. Thanks Paul! read more

Paul is awesome! Due to a slab leak our master shower got busted into - unfortunately the plumbers had done it really sloppily so the existing hot mop couldn't be repaired. Went on a hunt for quotes to have the entire shower replaced and we're so happy with our decision to go with Paul and Newlight. The price was fair and our shower looks great. Best part is, a few months later he came back to seal a few cracks that had formed in the corners (typical with new construction and settling). Thanks again, we have tons of tile in our house, this won't be the last time we hire Paul =D read more

I had some cracked tile in front of my house that needed to be fixed. I got quotes from several companies on yelp and chose this one based on reviews. Paul was great with communication. He consistently texted me his ETA, answered all my questions and explained things so that there were no surprises. His first visit was to inspect the broken tile and I loved that he had removed his shoes ready to enter the house when I reminded him that the tile was outside, very respectful and I appreciated it. On the day of repair, Paul and Matthew arrived in trucks marked with their company name and "licensed, bonded and insured." I didn't even think to consider that, but fantastic! Pricing was very fair and the workmanship was excellent, tile looks like new! Very good experience, I would not hesitate to hire this company again. read more

If you want quality at a fair price (not overcharging or undercharging) with great attention to detail and quick efficient accomidating work scheduling, this is the place for you! Paul and Sergio did an amazing job on our small 1 bedroom condo. Most contractors we worked with in the past were complete flakes and didn't want to take on a small job. They did an amazing job on our kitchen and sink/backsplash install and demo. Here are some before and after pictures, we will use them in the near future to redo our bathroom and finish our cabinets and tiling. We are so happy with the work and will gladly recommend them to any of our friends who need good quality work done, thanks again guys! Paul and his crew were a pleasure to work with. I'm in property management so I know how hard it is to find a good vendor to work with who is responsive, knowledgeable, and fair. We had Newlight hone, buff and polish two green marble showers, 1 cream of marfil shower, 3 bathrooms and a laundry room floor. Paul was great with explaining the process and explaining the results. We called Paul at Newlight months in advance to us starting with him on our hallway bathroom remodel. We planned on doing much of our bathroom remodel ourselves but we knew we wanted to get a professional to lay the tile. When I explained to Paul what my husband and I were attempting as DIYers, and he was very supportive. Paul was so kind and helpful that when we got stuck on how to remove our 80 year old cast iron tub, he walked me through the process. Even though he hadn't even started working on our bathroom, Paul was offering tips and advise on how to do the portions of the bathroom we wanted to do ourselves. That's just the kind of person Paul is. After months of working on the remodel ourselves, finally we were ready for Paul to start his work on our project. He came over and we discussed the trickier aspects of the project, like uneven walls and a newly installed tub that was wobbly. Paul and his assistant Richard worked fast and efficiently and made quick work of their tiling. My favorite part of working with this company was that Paul really made me feel like my wants and ideas were being heard. I had very specific ideas about the tile floor pattern and Paul worked hard to make it happen. He evened out wavy walls and even corrected a big issue we created in the shower area by us not buying the right sized tub! He lugged our 300 pound vanity into place and made the modifications necessary to it in order for it to fit right against the new tile. He was able to fix our issues and the results are amazing. We will definitely be asking Paul to return to tile the rest of the house in the future. read more

I am lucky to have found Paul. I'd been planning the remodel of my kitchen for over a year. I had the materials, I had the layout, what I was missing was the contractor. I found Paul through a mutual acquaintance, Paul called, came over, and sent me his estimate and suggestions. I liked him immediately and perhaps more importantly trusted what he was saying. He started on time, when there were set back (which there always are) he persevered. He found solutions and was always looking for a way to save money without losing sight of the overall look I wanted. His crew was terrific, they worked hard and had the same integrity that Paul has, there were a couple squeals over my "honeydew" lists, but they always did them, because they said they would. Much appreciation to Paul and his crew for an amazing job! read more

Paul did the tile restoration on the floors in the lobby of my restaurant and some repairs on damaged tile in our patio. He was super easy to work with and did the work during our off hours which was really helpful. Paul and his crew worked carefully to successfully repair, restore, re-stain and re-seal all the grout on our tile floors (about 1000s.f.) -Timely response for quotes and service. -Fair price was quoted and he honored his estimate. -Showed up on time for quotes, work days, and they finished on time. -Recommended the proper work for my tile/grout repair job with the proper equipment. With our fragile grout (in poor condition), the high pressure machines recommended by other companies would have damaged it more. Plus Paul was the only contractor who suggested a way to re-anchor our loose floor tiles (we could not find replacements) which saved us so much money. We would have had to retile the entire room. Overall, I am so pleased with Paul, the crew, and Newlight Tile Restoration. I would definitely work with them again. It looks amazing. read more

We had the pleasure of working with Paul on three separate jobs: two income properties and in our own home that we were remodeling. He color sealed and treated our tile and shower floors as well as installed new backsplash in our kitchen. We are thoroughly pleased with him and his team's work. They worked swiftly without rushing and the end result is beautiful workmanship. Another contractor even complemented his flawless tilework! Paul is extremely professional, communicative, and easy to work with. He also educated us on how the work should be correctly executed and provided us with options to meet our needs which we appreciated very much. His prices are very reasonable compared to other bids we received. Most importantly, aside from the great quality work, he takes pride in what he does. Throughout our home remodeling journey, we worked with many contractors/subcontractors and Paul is by far someone who we would work with again in a heartbeat. He was very polite, and covered the areas he worked in to keep them clean. He recaulked the shower and removed all the soap that was accumulated on the shelf and wall. He cleaned and color sealed all the tile and grout in the kitchen. It pays to do your research together with relying on Yelp reviews, because Paul was everything and more than we could have ever hoped for. Paul, the owner, is exceptional, professional and honest, and I cannot thank him enough. We had what we thought was a shower leak due to failure in the hot mop caused by some repiping work. Paul rescheduled some other work to make us a priority, and was patient and efficient in diagnosing the problem. In the end his efficiency cost him a bigger job, and yet he was happy for us that it wasn't that bigger problem. Amazing work ethic, I would recommend Paul 8 days out of 7. Thank you Paul. read more

This review is a little late.. but I have to say Paul and his crew are simply the best flooring contractor I have done business with. I received the bad news from a plumber that I had a deteriorated pipe in the slab. To make matters worse, the pipe was located snack in the middle of my travertine floor. The plumber taped off a 15 sq ft area and wanted to saw away. I told him to hold off as I searched for a professional flooring company. Found Paul on Yelp. Called, left a message and received a prompt call back. Explained the situation and he made an appointment to come take a look a couple of days later. Paul assessed situation and immediately put my mind at ease. He came back to start the job a few days later. Like a skilled surgeon, he removed the necessary times and left the job spotless. We agreed he would come back to finish the floor when the plumbers were done. Fortunately I had some left over flooring and was able to find the same travertine at the local distributor but I was afraid the grout (which is pretty wide) would not match. After the plumbers finished, Paul and his crew ended up cleaning and color sealing all of my travertine (which is about 1600 sq ft). They moved all the furniture (minus the very large, heavy pieces). The new tile was installed and the new grout added. Let me tell you, I'm as picky as they come. The new tile / grout is an exact match! Moreover, All the travertine and grout looks clean and brand new! If I ever have a need for flooring again or next time when I need to clean and restore my travertine, I will absolutely be calling NewLight. read more

Had a problem with a leak in the shower of a rental unit. Paul answered my call promptly, made an appointment for Monday, arrived on time, was friendly and knowledgeable, gave me a reasonable quote and took the time to answer all of my questions. On Thursday he was back to remove all caulking from shower pan, acid wash the shower pan floor and regrout and recaulk as needed. He also recaulked the sink and tub perimeter at no charge which made a big difference in the look of the bathroom and was very much appreciated. It was a relatively small job but I was impressed by the fact that Paul was willing to work on fixing my problem and didn't try to sell me on a much more expensive complete new tile shower. Paul was friendly, professional, responsive to my needs, knowledgeable, arrived on time and did exactly what he said he would do - all of which was impressive and much appreciated. Last Wednesday I had a plumber fixing a smell and a clog. He said I really needed a tile guy. He came out the following day and did my repairs, including getting water sucked out of the side cracks in the bottom of my shower. They did the repairs, but not only that, Paul was such a nice guy, I didn't feel like I was letting a stranger inside my house, it felt as though I already knew him. My wife and I were ready for him at 7:45. By 8:40 he had not shown so we called him. He said he was running late but should be able to get to us "in a little while".
