To salvage the opportunity, the salesperson, Chris, texted me and offered to come the following day at noon instead, along with a 5% discount for the inconvenience. I rearranged my schedule twice to accommodate them during what was already an exceptionally difficult time, as I was preparing to say goodbye to my 16-year-old dog that weekend. Chris did arrive on Friday as promised, but a week has now passed and I have received neither a bid nor any follow-up communication from anyone at the company. Shortly after the appointment, their Thumbtack profile was also removed or hidden. While I can't say why, the timing was odd, as it prevented me from leaving a review on the platform where we originally connected. I've uploaded screenshots with this review documenting the interaction, including Chris's last-minute cancellation, his offer of a 5% discount, and the Thumbtack notification showing the company was no longer available on the platform. If reliability, communication, and follow-through are important to you, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

I wanted to redo the inside of my entire house (yes, EVERY inch) and didn't know who to work with. I was given quotes that were 3-4x my budget and had a contractor pull out of the project 2 weeks before my scheduled demolition. I got super discouraged until i found Frame Build & Design. They were able to work with what I had and made my experience very enjoyable. They provided me a rendering of what the inside of my house would theoretically look like, and I can confidently say that it looks pretty darn close to the pictures! I'm so pleased with how all my cabinets & fixtures turned out. I appreciate Idan for answering all my questions and dealing with my complaints. He was patient with me and would send a guy over to fix or add things that I wanted (like outlets on the ceiling for my speakers, patching holes, etc). He went above and beyond to get permits for renovating, be there for city inspections, and keeping me posted on progress. I will say however that if you are planning to hire this team, you will need to be hands on. This means being involved in EVERY decision! I had to pick out all my materials on my own to match the rendering provided in the beginning. FB&D provided some locations I could check out, but it required a lot of research on my end. It felt overwhelming as a first time home owner, but this is pretty normal from what I understand. FB&D had an interior designer on this project and she was a HUGE help in decision making. There's no perfect contractor. Yes there were some communication issues and yes there were some imperfections. Yes it took 2x my timeline. What renovation doesn't? But ultimately the FB&D team were very accommodating with my feedback and gave me my DREAM home. And I can say 7 months into living here, everything is still holding up great and nothing has broken! He asked me very detailed questions that I hadn't thought about yet. I knew that he was detail-oriented and that he was already invested in my project even though I hadn't given him the go-ahead. I planned to do a room addition, which required an architect and getting those plans approved by the city. He took care of all the back and forth so that my focus could be on other aspects of the project. I had walls knocked down, a window put in, and new walls built. I added some aesthetic upgrades, which he took care of quickly. Daniel always responded quickly anytime I reached out to him. I was never stressed about the project, and he made sure to stop by regularly to look at the work that was done. He even noticed things that I hadn't and made sure the crew came back to correct them. Daniel is the lead that you want handling your project. I highly recommend him and his team and would use him again.

But he did it, and from the pictures you can see that he did it with beauty and style! If you have an easy or difficult job, Steve will make sure it's done well and done right. Terrible management and product quality…read more I paid top dollar for a new front door from Ganahl, only to receive one with obvious defects: flaws in the wood -- including what appears to be a deep saw-cut burn and an oil stain -- putty oozing from the surface, and other workmanship issues that should never have passed quality control. When I reported the defects, Ganahl was dismissive and argumentative. I was essentially told that "wood is wood" and that the condition of the door was normal. That position quickly fell apart when the matter was escalated to the manufacturer, T.M. Cobb, which acknowledged -- from only a few photographs -- that the door did, in fact, have defects requiring attention. Despite that admission, we were told that it would take at least a week for someone merely to inspect the door, with no indication of how much longer an actual repair or replacement might take. Ganahl knew that professional installers were scheduled for the day the door arrived and that the installation was necessary to keep exterior stucco preparation, inspections, and the rest of the construction schedule moving. I proposed a remote video (Facetime) meeting so the parties could review the defects promptly and discuss possible solutions before the project was further delayed. Ganahl and/or T.M. Cobb unilaterally decided that such a meeting would be fruitless and instead dictated that I would have to wait for an in-person visit. T.M. Cobb also refused to discuss the matter with me directly, while Ganahl refused to put me in contact with the person T.M. Cobb planned to send to inspect the door. Their proposed course of action was therefore no solution at all -- send the installers home, stop related work, delay inspections, absorb the resulting costs, and wait at least a week without even being permitted to speak directly with the manufacturer or its inspector about possible options. We were therefore left with two unacceptable choices -- refuse to install the door and bring the project to a halt, or install it to keep construction moving and potentially have to rip it out later. To make matters worse, we were told that installing the door could be treated as acceptance "as-is," supposedly relieving Ganahl and T.M. Cobb of responsibility for correcting the defects. In sum, Ganahl delivered a defective premium-priced product, offered no timely or practical remedy, blocked efforts to discuss solutions promptly, and attempted to shift the consequences of its quality-control failure entirely onto the customer. The defective door was unacceptable. Ganahl's dismissive attitude, lack of urgency, refusal to take ownership, and unwillingness to facilitate direct communication made the experience significantly worse. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering ordering a door through Ganahl or purchasing a T.M. Cobb product.

He was the Only contractor who didn't try to upsell me into buying an entirety different flooring for the entire room. That is why there are 4 stars rather than fewer because of the bad below. Communication was great in the beginning. Bad: some hidden tile sections weren't finished. He came back right away to fix them. However, one that was noticed after he came out once to fix it wasn't fixed. They didn't put the toilet on correctly and we had to fix that ourselves. He stopped responding.

No cutting corners and he even explained why he thinks the tiles cracked/came loose. We are so grateful to have found him. He told us that he actually specializes in bathrooms and showers, which is going to be our next project so we will definitely be reaching out to him when we are ready to tackle that. We recently removed a built-in and remodeled our fireplace, so the tiles around that area needed repairing/replacing. Jamen's quote was super reasonable, and once we confirmed the bid, he found us a start date right away. Jamen confirmed that one of his crew would be coming to do the job. His guy - Paolo - came punctually on the agreed upon time, explained the process, and did an awesome job repairing our tile!! Not only did he work quickly and efficiently, but he worked meticulously and made sure not to damage any existing tile. The first day took from about 9-1:30 pm to demo, cut, and set new tile. The second day he came back to do the grout (took less than an hour). Paolo explained that they wanted to make sure the tile was set/dry before grouting so that the grout color didn't blend into wet tileset color (which was white). I appreciate thoughtful, meticulous, detailed work even if it takes a bit longer. Thank you Jamen and Paolo!!! Already started referring them to friends!

During the initial Consultation Alex walked us through what the process would look like and provided an idea of expectations and price range based off my previous quotes. Throughout the entire project, Alex was really easy to communicate with. He was on top of all the contractors and anytime we needed an update (because I wanted them often) he would call me with detailed information. Being our first remodel experience we had a lot of questions and didn't understand how everything worked, but Alex took his time to walk us through it all. He showed up weekly to check on the status of the project and communicated daily on what is happening next. We asked his team to do some appliance and window installation which they did. And if they didn't feel comfortable doing specialty installation he was up front and let us know. Everything in the project was well documented in the contract which helped guide expectations and communication. We were given a 12 week timeline and we got delayed from manufactures due to the holiday season. However, Alex's contractors worked weekends and in the end completed the project a week early. All of the contractors were very respectful and professional. During the final walk thru and weeks after we found little things that needed finished touch ups and his team came back to fix or touch up everything we asked for. Even a month later Alex was available immediately to help with questions/ concerns. My only recommendation is at his team consider accepting cash or credit card to collect points. At this time, they only accept checks or money order. Overall we love our kitchen and would recommend using House Of Remodeling and Alex as our project manager again.

Floor polishing is a demanding process, particularly in an occupied home, and I was extremely impressed by the care the crew took to protect our property throughout the project. They were exceptionally conscientious about furniture and surrounding finishes, understanding that many items required delicate handling. They carefully removed doors when necessary, protected walls and adjacent areas, and maintained an unusually clean and orderly work environment. Their preparation and cleanup were every bit as thorough as the polishing itself. What distinguished this crew most was their attention to detail and commitment to achieving the best possible result. Rather than simply completing each stage of the job, they continually inspected their work, identified areas that would benefit from additional treatment, and addressed them without hesitation. They arrived when promised each day, worked efficiently and consistently, and completed the project on schedule. Their reliability made a substantial project remarkably easy to manage. The crew also deserves special recognition for their work ethic. Working through the intense August desert heat, they remained cheerful, courteous, focused, and remarkably hardworking. They worked relentlessly to provide superior service without allowing the difficult conditions to diminish either the quality of their work or the professionalism of their interactions. Every member of the team was polite, helpful, respectful, and pleasant to have in our home. I would especially like to recognize Greg Torres for his leadership. It is evident that Greg has created and reinforced a culture in which professionalism, craftsmanship, respect, and personal accountability are expected. He sets an excellent example for his team and is clearly highly respected by the crew. The finished floors are beautiful, but equally impressive was the experience of working with this team.
