The food is great the combos are a great the free condiments are great a little on the costly side but it's worth it

Friendly and helpful staff, came here for he first time a few weeks ago and had a pleasant experience. However, the second time I came I ordered the "Mac n' Cheese". Was disappointed to receive a boxed meal from the frozen section of the Piggly Wiggly. Should have stayed home and heated a piece of velveeta on white bread. Not likely to return. read more

Food was fresh and the portion was large. I've had the Ultimate salad with the honey mustard dressing. It was delicious the dressing was a little spicy but good. I've had the pizza a well, it was good. The crust was light and crispy. My orders are always carry out. The interior is clean and staff are friendly. read more

We just went into Newk's and my husband watched the cook put his gloved hand in his mouth to eat and then proceeded to make people's food. When he said something to the hostess she told the manager and the manager did nothing. The cook continue to make food with the same gloved hand, we got a refund and left. read more

This newks has always been good since it recently opened! My food has always been prepared just how I asked. I ate here for dinner and those who brought my food out were super nice and made sure I had everything. But prior to getting my food when I ordered, the employee ringing me up was so rude. I asked what my options were (retaining to what I was ordering) and he just did not want to list them to me. I paid in cash and he sarcastically took his time getting my change. Meanwhile, his MANAGER was sitting on the floor laughing with him, which absolutely just ruined my mood to eat there. I have always loved Newks but this really was disappointing. I just want to mention the employee who took my order definitely looked like he was out of it. As if he was stoned or on some other kind of drugs. read more

I am not one to usually care to write reviews, good or bad, but I felt that this one deserved it: Tonight I ordered a meal from from Newks Eatery here in Columbus through the app Waitr (DO NOT EVER USE THIS APP THEY ARE HORRIBLE). Everything went smoothly until when I received my order, I realized that two things that I had purchased were missing from my bag. I was frustrated to say the least, so I called the restaurant to have the problem fixed. I won't go into every little detail about the mess of what happened afterwards with Waitr, but I did want to give a shout out to the manager from Newks, Kayla, that helped me throughout the whole process. She really went above and beyond. Not only did she refund the money for the desserts, she also got a waitr driver back out to her restaurant, even stayed late after they closed waiting on the driver to pick them up, and also included in an extra half sandwich for my troubles. She promptly called me back every time she had an update, answered my call every time I called, and handled to situation in the most professional and savvy way. She was the only person that saved the day and saved this situation from being an absolute disaster. THANK YOU KAYLA!!! On a side note - Waitr is the worst, most poorly managed food delivery service company, and really service company in general, that I have ever used. They were the real problem in this whole situation and were basically running around with their heads cut off. Not to mention, this same situation had happened to me before while using the waitr app, this one just happen to top them all and be worse than anytime before. but again KAYLA SAVED THE DAY! read more

After seeing Newk's fairly packed around dinner time on my way out of Barnes and Noble a few times, I was curious. I hadn't heard much about it but packed seems promising at the very least. Decided to have lunch there yesterday with a friend. The pros: The tea is very good, you'll probably want to go back for a refill. Half sweet/half unsweet with a wedge of lemon was perfect. Also, I like that they have a menu outside by the doors and another (larger) menu just to the side of the entrance. It's great to be able to pick out what you'd like if you get stuck in line and to have a couple options for groups to gather around before placing their order(s). It's definitely a plus if you find yourself squinting in the absence of those glasses you're always forgetting, like me. The cons: The food. I ordered the Five Cheese Mac n' Cheese & a cup of their Pulled Pork and Corn Chowder soup; my friend ordered a bowl of Broccoli and Cheese soup & the Southern salad. We ended up taste-testing each other's dishes, primarily in disbelief at how disappointing they were. To be fair, the Five Cheese Mac n' Cheese was pretty standard. It was a small portion but if you've a hankering for it, it's not terrible. The macaroni was cooked well but the sauce was awfully bland. Most of the food fit solidly into bland-territory, actually. A chowder should be comfort food. Instead, the Pulled Pork & Corn Chowder tasted as if someone shredded up a tire and stewed it with canned corn until it was just about tepid. The chicken salad that topped the Southern Salad was bland as well, which is enough to put you off as a good chicken salad is pretty much a staple here. But the fact that it topped a pile of wilted lettuce and soggy croutons was more off-putting than even it's blandness. The Broccoli and Cheese soup was passably edible with the application of breadsticks in abundance but it was also scorched. Something the kitchen should have noticed before passing it to the waiter as the color was off. We were there while the crowd was pretty sparse (less than a handful of tables were occupied) so I do think there was adequate time and staff for the food to be at least warm, if not hot, and not scorched/off-color. All in all, disappointing food and not a very comfortable atmosphere. We didn't end up finishing the bulk of our food and I don't think either of us will be going back. read more

Had a issue with a pizza I had ordered that was burnt after sending it back. Left a message on the web site and received a call the next day. I received an apology and was offered a free meal. Problem handled promptly. read more

My work office decided to try this place out for the first time and I was very disappointed in the lack of customer service when trying to order through the phone. I get that they are busy and they just opened but try to at least sound like you enjoy your job when answering the phone. The lady who took my call kept putting me on hold and kept asking me for my order over and over again. I don't think I would ever order here again. The first impression always makes a difference. read more

For a chain, this place isn't terrible. However, it's overpriced, especially considering there's nothing special about the ingredients here. The chicken pesto sandwich I had tasted fine, but had too much pesto which was unevenly spread. The fruit cup I had as a side was pretty mediocre as half the fruit was unripe. There were a lot of people eating here so it'll be interesting to see if it stays that way after the initial hype dies down. If it does stay that way it just reaffirms the garbage tastes of the people of Columbus. read more

Newk's has been our go to since it opened but lately it has gone downhill. We went for dinner and dined in and the place was so dirty. We went to three different booths before finding one that wasn't covered in crumbs and spilled mess, not to mention your shoes stick to the floor. There was also a very distinct smell from the booth upholstery. My husband's steak sandwhich was cold. My ceasar salad had so much dressing I barely ate it because I was already getting a stomachache. It's sad to say but we probably won't be returning. After I payed for my food I went to go grab my drink and noticed the line cook was standing on the line texting on her cell phone with her gloves on, she then proceeded too make our dinner with the gloves she was just touching her phone with. The cashier had a rude tude' my toasted sandwich was cold when brought to the table, my fiancé's lettuce was soggy- the manager stood around while his staff talked too each other while the lobby and outdoor seating had tables that needed to be cleaned. They advertise that you can receive a free dozen layer cake after downloading they're mobile app,after downloading they're app I was told I would receive an email in about a week and would be able to come back to redeem the Free slice of cake- no thank you-I wish I could give this eatery less than 1 star. read more

When I called to place an order the staff answered "hello" I responded with "is this Newks" and the staff replied "yeah." I proceeded with placing my order and was put on hold 6 times! My friend called while I was on hold to see if they would answer her call and she was answered and placed our order right away. The whole time she was placing our order I stayed on the line to see if they would return to my call and they did not and remained on hold after she was done with our order. I know this is a new restaurant but I think common sense is to answer the phone with your business name. read more

The first time I ever ate at a Newks was in Birmingham, AL. They have 2 locations, both excellent. I can't say the same for our Columbus location unfortunately. I agree with the earlier review about it being hit or miss. A couple of times it was great, other times, not so much. I have had the chicken left off my Mediterranean pizza, alvocado left off a turkey alvocado as well as under-ripe alvocado which was hard and rubbery (not edible), just to name a few of the snaphews I've encountered. Keep your fingers crossed when you eat at the Newks's in Columbus, and good luck! read more
