A dark blue SUV is parked on a residential street, with trees and a house visible in the background, and a wooden fence behind the vehicle.

Me and my boyfriend both bought vehicles from Michael. We also dealt with Jeff who helped me with a different vehicle I thought I'd be interested in. Michael was professional and patient in letting me and my boyfriend test drive vehicles on the lot. We bought a 2009 Toyota Highlander, and a2016 Subaru Forester. Both with a little bit more miles but reliable. Michael went above and beyond for us with these vehicles that when we found very minor issues with the vehicles he referred us to a mechanic or had their mechanic fix it on them. He then proceeded to exceed expectations when we told him we wanted tints, upgraded stereo, and remote start by referring us to his guy who gave us a discount for going to them! I have never bought a used car, and now I don't see myself going anywhere else for a vehicle! Thank you so much Michael!

It was worth the 150 mile round trip to visit Newark Rides. I purchased a 2013 Ford Edge. On the way back from Springfield, IL to my Chicago home, I drove to Newark Rides to look at a Lexus RX 350. I didn't like it. So I asked Michael/Brandon to show me the cars they did have. A green 2013 Ford Edge caught my eye. It was cheaper than the Lexus RX 350 I didn't want. I drove the Ford Edge and it drove like a rocket ship, really. There's a farm road 200 feet from the dealership that goes on for about 5 miles. I glided to 80 MPH and then backed down to a safe 65 MPH. Gorgeous glide. Michael/Brandon let me take the car to a local mechanic for a checkup. He gave me an OK so I went further. I plunked down $200 to hold the car and drove back to Chicago. Two days later my wife and I drove 70 miles from Chicago to Newark, IL to look at the 2013 Ford Edge. My wife had to admit it was "pretty" for a green car and drove nicely. Jeff the owner gave us a good trade-in on our 2004 Lexus RX 330. Half way home (35 miles), an engine light came on. Yikes. At home I determined it was a PO300 code which probably means change spark plugs. I called Jeff, told him the problem and he said, without arguing: Bring it back, we'll fix it. I drove the car back to Newark, IL, the next day and Jeff's mechanics changed out the spark plugs, verified the code was cleared, AND flushed my car's coolant at my request. Jeff stood by the sale even though he didn't have to do so. Jeff the owner saved me approximately $500 total, for free. So yes, I recommend Newark Rides. Salespeople Michael/Brandon did NOT sell me a car. They showed me a car and I sold myself. Also, Jeff the owner stood by his car and its sale with service afterwards. Long review, hope it's worth it to someone. I love my beautiful green 2013 Ford Edge.

Geno refusing to sell me a vehicle after he "saw my profile". Your money is no good at Newark Rides if you do not have same viewpoints.

Sold us a car with a rebuilt title and the car is junk. Strongly discourage anyone to do business with them.

Four responded with internet pricing and/or purchase agreements within two days, all within $2K of each other. This place, after a week and 11 emails, STILL hasn't given me a price. They kept telling me I had to come in because they didn't want to give prices to "competitors". Then they asked me for the pricing I'm getting (uhhh...competitors?) because they wanted to compare apples to apples. I gave it to them...then got BS responses and no offer. They don't have the window stickers online, and the VINs are all incorrect so I can't even look it up myself to make sure the vehicles are similar (only reason I kept talking to them was because they have a color/trim combo that I can't find nearby...but of course after several communications about that vehicle, I was told it wasn't available because someone put a deposit on it). My final note from them was to tell me the dealer I was talking to was lying about a $,7,750 EV incentive since the government took those away in the fall. Yes, I'm aware of that...it's a DODGE incentive!!! Also throwing in their "lowest sales tax" BS., where I was told they could save me a "hundreds" in taxes, even though they were fully aware what county I lived in..in Illinois, you pay sales tax where you register your vehicle. And you're legally required to register at your primary residence. If I had a summer home in a lower-tax county, maybe I could take advantage if I wanted to do it illegally. But regardless of what they "collect" at the sale, I'm still paying the tax at registration. Reminded them where I lived and they continued to tell me it didn't matter. I wouldn't even be writing this if they didn't double-down on everything they were dishonest about when I'd ask to clarify. Constant dis-information. Posting the receipts here for anyone to make their own judgement, but if you hear from Jess E., consider going elsewhere.

Buyers beware! 10/10 would NOT recommend this place!!! We have bought 2 vehicles from this place…read moreand have had nothing but problems with both of them. The first vehicle we purchased was a 2010 Chevy Silverado we purchased for our nephew in June 2025. He has had nothing but issues with the truck since day 1 of bringing it home and continues to have problems. We were told when we purchased the vehicle that if he ever needed parts for the vehicle, he could buy them from this place at cost. When he did need parts, he tried calling and was told they never sold him this vehicle. Fast forward 9 months later on March 28, 2026. We went back (hesitantly) to purchase a vehicle for our son. The truck we purchased for him seemed to be in great condition for a 2016 and figured since it was 6 years newer than the car we bought for our nephew, we may have better luck this time around. Jokes on me... You know what they say, "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me". I should have listened to my instincts. Within HOURS of bringing the truck home, the check engine light came on and had multiple codes relating to battery issues, transmission issues, etc. I spoke with Nick's wife on 4/13/26 relaying the information we found out and was told she would get back to me. She never did. Instead, she spoke with my husband and told him she would send him the information we could send the photos of the codes to so she can look into it. He never got that information either. Now, as of 4/23/26, I had to call them for an update on the codes I verbally told Nick's wife about on the phone on 4/13/26. Nick said he was waiting for my husband to get back to him and never heard from him. I explained the conversation my husband told me and he said he never said that to my husband and provided me with an email to send the photos of the codes to. This call was initiated due to the alternator going out on this truck already. I understand there will always be a risk with purchasing a used vehicle, but not this many issues within a month of purchase, more or less hours. I will be emailing Nick the photos but am not hopeful for a resolution based off other reviews regarding this company. I have a feeling this place is clearing codes in order to scam people into buying a vehicle from them and then acting like they didn't know anything about it when mentioned to them. Shop here at your own risk. I for sure will NEVER buy another vehicle from here and will warn whoever I can not to buy from here. I will also be filing a report with the BBB if I have to go that far.
