    I bought a used 2010 Chevy Malibu from Herb at Gerald auto and less than a month of having the car it started failing on me on the highway. The brakes and gas became unresponsive and everything in the car slowly started shutting off. I was barely able to make it to the shoulder safely. On my dash popped up a service esc message. I called the dealership crying and they told me to bring it in, the mechanic there looked at it for about five minutes and clearly he only cleared the codes on the car and checked and topped off my oil which he said was the issue later on I came to check my car and seen then didn't even remove the oil stick it. They sent me on my way only for the same thing to happen two days later except now the car didn't move at all. I had the car towed home and told them of the issues and demanded they take the car back. After a lot of hassling they finally agreed to send a tow to pick the car up and sent me a check for my down payment. Buying my first car from them turned out to be a horrible experience and I learned that they were a careless dealership with horribly trained staff members and mechanics. Do NOT buy a car from them.

    DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM THIS PLACE I would give no stars if I could. I drove from Indianapolis to Joliet to purchase a 2015 Buick Regal and was told everything was in great condition. However, half way back to Indianapolis, I noticed the brakes were rubbing. When I reached out to the sales manager, Raul, about the brake issue, he said he would try to reach out to the dealership's owner to see if he would cover the cost to fix them. I never heard anything back from Raul about fixing the brakes. The following week, I noticed oil in my driveway, so I took the car to my mechanic. Turns out, there is a hole in the valve cover gasket that had been covered with RTV sealant, and because of the cover up, the oil pump and one of the cams were damaged. I sent an email to Raul with pictures and my mechanic's write up of the issue and cost to repair - $1900, and his response was to bring the car back to them so their mechanic could look at it. I informed Raul that the car would not make it back to Joliet since it was leaking oil like a sieve, the car was inoperable as the top of the engine had to be taken off to diagnose the issue, and the car was leaking oil to the point where I had to put in 2 quarts of oil a day. Once again, his response of me paying to have it towed back to them was not helpful, nor was it good customer service, as I was already out the money I had to pay to have the issue diagnosed. So basically, Gerald Auto lied about the condition of the car and knowingly sold me a car that is not safe to drive (bad brakes) and is not actually in good working condition since there is a major oil leak from a hole in a valve cover gasket, which in turn ruined the oil pump and one of the cams. Gerald Auto is the typical car dealership full of employees who are nothing more than a bunch of shysters.

    A couple of months ago I went to Gerald as a first time car buyer and was told to go to Ray in which I did, I fell in love with this beautiful all black impala and ray helped me though it all and made sure I understood everything, talked me through everything and wala first car was bought, then my mom went and bought a car from them with the help from Ray again and she loved everything about it, recently I was in a car accident leaving my car totaled due to someone else running a red light crashing into me, so after a month or so of saving I went back with all papers saying the car was paid off and Ray Morales and Raul helped me so much to be able to leave with a car I wanted and made it so easy on me and even waiting for all the paper work they made sure me and my father were comfortable and made conversation, I definitely love going in there because these guys are just awesome at what they do and always make sure to help and make sure you leave happy, they try to get to know you a little in the mean time to know how to help you, I highly recommend this dealership same with Ray and Raul to help out because they know exactly what they are doing and how to help. When ever I hear a friend or family mention they are in the market to buy a new car I always recommend Gerald because even I will continue to go back and continue to buy cars from them same with my parents! I mean I left with these two beautiful cars, the black impala being the first one I purchased and the the silver charger being the one I bought just a few days ago. I've never had problems which makes it better. But definitely recommend Gerald to everyone because you will not leave unhappy, they for-sure go above and beyond to help you leave with the car you want and make sure your completely taken care of

    Great experience love our 2017 Dodge Journey. Process was smooth and fair negotiations were not pressured, no bait n switch tactics or other shady stuff. Honest,fair and down to earth. Definitely have their moral compasses on. Hit a couple speed bumps but overall a great experience! Thanks for helping us out!

    This place is awesome, I came out to look at a few of the suv's and drove out in a 2007 Escalade that Gerald & Jose helped to get me financed for. I purchased the Escalade for a awesome price ad got a great financing rate with low payments. It has been a year since I made the purchase and with that being said, they also have a great shop and good mechanics. When I took my truck to get some service done to it, I needed a oil change, air filter, air bag light sensor just minor things. It only took a couple hours before they called me and said it was all done and got me a great deal on parts. They where nice enough to wash my truck after the work was done. They are very friendly and I can positively say tjI will be back and do more business with them soon. Thank you Gerald & Jose.

    We had a great experience buying from Gerald Auto. Buying was easy and stress free, every body was very professional and helpful, they gave us all the information and answered all our questions we brought a trade in vehicle and we received a good trade in deal. The same day that we came in we walked out with our Ford Escape. This is the second vehicle that we buy from Gerald, and we are planning to come back, I would recommend Gerald Auto

    This is a service review. For over 2 years I've been getting the run around and lied to. I have a…read more2024 Tiguan. I was getting low oil warnings a few times. Recently it is very often. I was told numerous times it was normal for turbo engines. Come on man. I never had that with other turbo engines and my Tiguan that I had before this one. Finally they said I should do a consumption test. Did that, was told it failed. We were told that they were going to contact Volkswagen for a solution. Then said they were going to order a part that is on back order. We trusted them. Months go by and I called to ask about it. They had no idea what I was talking about. I called Volkswagen they told me to deal with the dealership. I contacted a lemon law lawyer and they told me to get paperwork. I called first and went in. The service clerk that I talked to had no idea what the clerk was talking about. Then came back and said the printer was broken. I saw in her face she was confused. I just recently lost my brother to a quick cancer and his birthday was that weekend so I got upset. I didn't throw a fit because I work in costumer service. They came in and said I didn't do the consumption test. Then they said they ordered the part I needed. Umm ok. I did the first half. My husband did the second half since I was caring for my brother in hospice. Meanwhile the lemon law lawyer joint was telling me none of the paperwork I sent them said anything about repairs. Odd. I'm afraid to drive this vehicle. It can just stop running at any time. I even texted the guy who oversees all of service of all of the Hawk group and he never responded. I researched this had happened with Tiguans since they were produced. I'm still trying to get this straightened out. Guess I'll update but I'll update but I really want to get rid of this car. Tried calling another Volkswagen dealership and they also said they couldn't help me.
