Sorry, this is going to be loooonngg!! I am not even sure where to begin. First of all, we drove 2 hours to go see the truck I have been dreaming of. At first, the experience was great! Eric, the salesman, was very courteous and we immediately felt at ease. We got there towards the end of their day but there was plenty of time to work with. My boyfriend looked over the car to the best of his ability, but you can only do so much when its sitting out there on the floor. You really have to drive it a bit before you notice any major issues, you know what I mean? We did test drive it and it seemed pretty solid, so far. However, the salesman said he was taking it out for a spin before we got there and in the back of my head, I was wondering why? While my boyfriend was looking it over, he noticed that all of the fluids were pretty darn low and called Eric out on it. That should have been the first sign.. but nope! We bought the truck! During the signing of the paperwork.. the gentleman in the back that does the financing was the crabbiest motherf*cker! Yes, he got me a great deal but damn!! Sorry, we were adding some extra time to your work night on a Friday! I felt so uncomfortable. My boyfriend asked about warranties because no one brought anything up. The guy just huffed (literally out loud) and just shook his head mumbling something about no, not worth it. So, I guess no warranty for us.
A couple days later... that is when it all began!! Let me give you a run down of what happened...
1. Got a warning light for tire pressure system needs to be checked, warning that signals were out (the driver side mirror blinker does not work- all of a sudden we see a bunch of gross crap inside the mirror)
2. Heated seat does not work for drivers side- it worked at dealership.
3. Interior lights flicker like crazy, like there is some weird wiring going on.
4. It desperately needed an oil change and no wiper fluid at all!!
5. THEN...A WEEK AFTER HAVING IT.. I was driving home from work and the truck was acting like the E-brake was on at a green light... I slowly drove to the side of the road. Boyfriend comes to move truck to a safer place and smoke is just billowing out from beneath. The wheel bearing was completely shot and needed to be replaced immediately. The CV axle needed to be replaced as well. The passenger side needs to have both done as well, but we are trying to save money to do that.
6. And the key fob.. the key fob is a piece of crap! Its falling apart and dealerships are wanting $300 to get a new one programmed (thank God for Amazon for finding a cheaper fob to help lower cost)
7. There is a television in truck but no remote (it is needed to run some of the programs)
8. The center console doesn't stay shut because the latch is broken.
9. The rack and pinion need to be replaced.
10. The back end of the truck seems like one side is pushed over, making the other side slightly stick out, making me believe the frame is bent.
To make a long story short.. I am absolutely convinced, that nobody at Dempsey even looked at the truck upon getting it in. NOBODY!! Its a beautiful truck but there is a reason someone traded it in and Im finding that out!
I did email the salesman Eric and little to my knowledge did I know that he left Dempsey. So, he just gave me a number and name to call. I did just that (I also emailed) and not one single response back.
I even asked that if I brought in a new key fob, could that at least hook me up with a free programing of it due to the fact that I was only given one key, that was disintergrating. NOT A SINGLE PEEP back from anybody!!!
I just feel like they will do and say anything to make the sale. I dont care how great of a deal you got me... make sure that all the crap is working on the car before advertising it and selling it!!!! I bought it thinking all was working but its not and its a load of crap! Thank God my boyfriend can fix everything but I think Dempsey needs to get their sh*t together!!!
