Usually, when there is a problem with my vehicle, I YouTube it. Get an answer and attempt the project myself. Something small like electrical is up my alley but anything else I need help with. I've bought two cars from the owner. The first one he said it'll go another 50,000 miles before it needs anything and sure as shit I went 80,000 miles before I needed anything major. Come to think of it. I go in there lot with car problems (7 vehicles in my life) . Cool flow is fast and efficient. They are always there to diagnose it and help me out when I can as far as understanding what is exactly wrong with my vehicle. I recently just bought a 300 from cool flow. Dan is a heck of a guy. Dan and Brett are awesome. They are my go to mechanics. I've gone to this shop multiple times because I am so pleased with the service. They are friendly, honest, and know what they are doing. I've had quotes from other places and they are usually right in line or less expensive than other shops. I can't recommend this place enough. Added bonus: there is a nice spot to sit and watch tv with comfy chairs. They have an extensive movie collection that my daughter loved along with hot chocolate. Called for a quote regarding installation for a custom axle-back exhaust system. I would be supplying all the parts and all they would supply is piping and installation. After a minute phone call I was told they could not install it even though they state on their website they do exhaust. I asked why they couldn't install it and got attitude,a "whatever" and hung up on. Nice customer service. read more

This place is freaking awesome! Truly family owned and comfortable. Every time the owner walks in his wife says "Honey?" then proceeds to ask about some type of rsvp event (not that I was eves dropping) she is working on behind the counter. I feel like I'm sitting in a friend's living room. I wish all places were like this! We took my wife's car here to fix the AC. They called and quoted me $1600 for a new compressor. I approved the work and they ordered the parts. When the parts came in and they got started, the technician discovered it was only a broken wire preventing the compressor from cycling on and off. He replaced the wire and billed me only $250. I'm very impressed with the honesty and quality of their work. They could have taken me for $1600 because I had already approved the work, had the parts, and I never would have known. But, they did what was right. They fixed the real problem and billed me fairly. And they did it quick. We'll be back. read more

They mentioned they don't do coolant flushes anymore as they got rid of the equipment so rather than waste my time and give me a line about how they could fix my problems, they were honest. Incredible. It's like going to your brothers place - if your brother was an automotive genius and loved movies (and if you like your brother)! I have been going to Cool Flow for many years now. Dan and his team always find out what is wrong and are able to make repairs timely. He has never made the wrong call and had me pay for an unnecessary repair like some other places I went before finding him. Dan is honest. If your budget is tight, he will let you know what needs to be done now to keep the car safe to drive and what can be done later. The office side offers a very friendly family atmosphere waiting area with comfortable sitting and a variety of movies to help pass the time while waiting. A favorite part though is the coffee "bar". Any true coffee drinker will envy the k-cup choices. Common sense approach to car repair, very knowledgable and affordable, from oil changes to major repairs, I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Whatever you do...if you are close to this guy....on second thought, even if you are not close, please do yourself a favor and go here for your car service. I have gone several times for brakes and tires and other smaller services. Each time, Dan has been honest and 100% of the time has saved me money by not performing a repair other service centers gave said I needed. this has happened with brakes 2 times Other shops said I need a 4 wheels and turn out I still had 50% remaining on my rear wheels for brakes. These guys are awesome. We got our brakes and rotor changed and the price was reasonable and exactly what they quoted over the phone. I went in to see them because my check engine light came on, and they said that I have a bad air sensor and would be $250 to replace. Turns out the senor was doing its job because only a few days later, the exhaust pipe separated for the catalytic converter and needed to have it all replaced. So instead I went to Car X and after work was done, my check engine light came off. I glad I trusted my gut feeling and waited on replacing sensor. Moral of the story? Whenever a repair shop says you have bad sensor, always question whether the sensor truly is bad, or just doing its job to by picking up another more significant problem with the engine. And, never ask an auto parts store where to go to get car fixed because they are in cohoots with which ever repair shop they recommend. read more

I contacted Dan at Cool Flow through the website portal to set up a reservation and in mere minutes I received an email from him asking how he could help. I explained my car failed its emissions test and explained that I needed to get the car fixed to pass the retest. He emailed me back right away again telling me to bring the car any time and that he'd provide an estimate. I brought the car in the next morning and spoke briefly with Dan about what my failed emissions results were and left. Less than an hour later I got a call and the problem had already been identified. Dan explained the problem and the estimate was reasonable and had no hidden or surprise costs. I gave the go ahead to do the work and a few hours later my car was done and had passed emissions. Great experience. Communication couldn't have been better. I'll be back. read more

Cool Flow has been great to our family and our 3 cars for years! My son brought his car to a chain oil change location when he was out of town. They told him that we needed $1,500 worth of work on our 2005 Accord, when we brought it to Dan, he told us the car didn't need that work. I went out to my car and had a flat tire. I called AAA and a tow truck driver came and put my spare tire on and told me that I should go to Cool Flow automotive to have them fix my tire. I told him that I usually go to Good Year and that's who I trusted. He said "Absolutely not - you need to start going to Cool Flow Automotive, they are a father and son team, and the neighborhood garage for Naperville. I thought I would give them a try. Dan fixed the hole in my tire for free. I came back a few weeks later for brakes and I told him I used to go to Good Year... And asked him how much he would charge for a radiator for my car. He told me, $425 I was shocked! I just sold my gold to pay $788.98 for a new radiator at Good Year. They totally ripped me off... I had no idea how much a radiator should cost and just trusted them. I never went back and have been coming to Cool Flow for three years now! Dan and his son Brett are honest and are more about the customer than the money they can make off of your car troubles!
