I can't thank Joey and the rest of the Clarks team for their seamless work and genuine commitment to providing the customer with a fair and honest diagnosis. I had work done on my 2013 XV Crosstrek transmission and suspension and was super screwed over by my warranty company. I called ahead to confirm the oil change price with their coupon and they were super nice on the phone. When I arrived, the vibes were completely off and nothing like on the phone. They ended up adding a $15 charge for tire rotation which put a sour taste in my mouth because it had not been mentioned earlier and made their cost less competitive. The waiting room seemed really nice online but it feels like sitting in the school admin office waiting to see the principal. It's tiny and you're practically all sitting shoulder to shoulder so don't expect to get any work done. It didn't take them too long to complete the oil change which was nice. However the real reason for the 2 star review is the inspection report. They told me nothing was wrong except for 2 tires getting close to end of their life. I thought this was odd since i could hear my break pads and was told last time that they'd need to be replaced at this oil change by another mechanic. I asked specifically about this and they said no the break pads are still fine. I was also expecting something else because my car is on it's 5th year of life and there's other stuff besides an oil change that you need to do. Nothing. I left, not realizing that the inspection link they text expires and you won't be able to access without logging in (i had asked for a printout but they said the link is fine). And now less than a month later, my car doesn't start because the battery is dead, a steering wheel sensor (RDS thing) is no longer working and the breaks are squealing when I reverse too. Car was fine before. I don't know if these are their fault but the inspection is definitely a joke -don't trust it! read more

Brought my truck into Clark's Auto Care in Naperville for a maintenance quote--specifically to replace spark plugs. While I appreciated the proximity and ease of getting in, I was a bit disappointed by the wait for the team to review the truck. Not a dealbreaker, just something to note. Clark's strikes me as a shop that offers a hybrid experience: a little closer to the dealership in terms of approach, but with the pricing of a local mechanic. What surprised me, though, was their use of a "service advisor." It's an extra layer I wasn't quite expecting, but I can see how it would appeal to drivers who aren't as mechanically savvy. Ultimately, my quote for the spark plugs was only $75 cheaper than the dealership's, which made me reluctant to move forward with Clark's this time. If you're looking for that dealership-style experience without paying full dealership prices, this might be your place. It is my pleasure to provide positive comments about the service I received at Clark's Car Care. I hesitatingly stopped in to Clark's Car Care after my son's 2012 Chevy Impala failed the Illinois emissions test for the third time. As I exited the facility, I noticed their sign... FAILED EMISSIONS TEST? Serendipity? I think so... They provided two estimates, one for routine maintenance at 84,000 miles and one for passing emissions. The estimate for emissions was reasonable and besides they guaranteed the car would PASS! I accepted both estimates and I could not be more pleased. The routine maintenance was pretty much straight forward but the emissions component was extremely troublesome. Jason, the technician responsible for my vehicle, was totally committed to achieving success. He diagnosed every component of the EVAP system and even went to technical resources specific to the 2012 Chevy Impala! I have to say that he never "gave up' when frustrated as he maintained contact with me throughout the process. Although the "process" took several days, his call to me that it had PASSED was so joyous for both of us. I can highly recommend Clark's Car Care for any and all repairs you may need. They will guarantee all work and will obviously go the extra mile to achieve your complete satisfaction. Honest and excellent customer service. Brought my Acura RDX in due to hearing a odd noise from under the car. Kept me in the loop throughout the process and provided me a ride home after I dropped off the car to be diagnosed free of charge. Dealer charges $200 just for an inspection. Completed the inspection within 24 hours and had the car back the next day. Turned out the bolts in my tires were loose with 3 missing and 1 loose and close to falling off. They suspect the bolts were not tightened enough the last time my tires were rotated which happened to be just 4 months back at the Naperville Acura dealership. I fortunately do not drive much. Matt and Joey explained how to check my oil, and believe me it was refreshing for someone to simply explain how to do something simple so I can do it myself. They also offered to check my oil at any time for me which is very nice. I've had trouble with oil changes with other shops leaving the tray off or a piece missing and oil leaking, but I think this shop does a great job of making you feel that you can trust your car with them. After agreeing to the work that needed to be done I got radio silence even when I was told I'd get updates regularly (ie id get a call that evening and not hear anything so I'd call in the morning this happened multiple times) Although My biggest issue with this place is that every time I called they referred to me as "little girl" all of the employees. As a recent purchaser of a VERY used car, I am thrilled to have found such a reasonable and considerate car care place! The experience from start to finish (literally - they even left me a voicemail the next day thanking me and wanting to see if everything was working ok!) was great. I brought my car in and worked with Joey. They preformed a standard maintenance item repair and were asked to further evaluate a rear end shock absorbing system component while I waited. I had been told to it "watch it" by a national brand tire supplier in a previous maintenance activity . Year after year, Clark's provides exceptional service at legitimately fair prices. I genuinely used to dread putting my car in the shop. I never knew if the service the mechanic recommended was actually necessary or if the price was unfairly inflated. My husband and I found Clark's Car Care about 6-7 years ago, and we'll continue to use them for all our vehicle needs. (It must be true since I forgot I already wrote them a 5-star review over two years ago! We actually lived in Wheaton at the time. So we went way out of our way to take our cars to Clark's.) Beware! I took my-car and my son's car here for years. Both older cars so I gave them plenty if business. Never EVER had a repair bill under $1,000.00. It just seemed very odd to me that repair bills were consistently $1,000 to $2,000. Finally got sick of it and started taking both cars to Johnny & Frankie's and OMG! The difference is night and day. Repair bills immediately cut in half. First time I took it there I was told my car did not need half the repairs that Clark's was going to charge for. Came here since my car didn't pass the emission test and I'm glad I did! Was taken care of by Jason who went over every detail and was extremely helpful and professional. Jason defiantly went above and beyond to help and provide the best customer experience. He made sure he provided me with the best possible option! Jason helped me quickly get a rental car and even had them pickup my rental at the shop the following day avoiding me having to make yet another trip to the car rental. As for my emissions test, he also made sure my vehicle was in passing status and even brought my car to get tested and passed so all I had to do was pickup my car at the shop. As an added bonus, they also make the waiting as comfortable as possible by providing free coffee, water and even popcorn. Then relax on a massage chair while you either read or not arch TV. I am livid! My best friend was told last week her front brakes were "unsafe". They were fine. The front brake pads, upon my inspection, had well over 50% life and we're not anywhere near "needing immediate attention." Unneeded brake jobs are one of the most common scams auto mechanics pull. My daughter recommended Clark Care to me and they were terrific! They looked up the history of my car and explained to me what was going on with my car. I hate doing reviews but they are necessary to spare the next from any not so positive experience you went thru. Let me start with the positive; they are very friendly and appear to be caring; I appreciated their honesty on what needed to really be fix vs the dealership fluff I had been given to drain my pockets. So with that being said I trusted them when they said they work on foreign luxury cars. I have to question the level of experience because before I left my car to be fixed by them I had no electrical issues; when I got my car back my doors do not unlock when I touch the handle as it should I now have to fumble for my keys to unlock the door; they don't automatically lock anymore when I get out the car; my trunk doesn't open with the key FOB all the time like it was; sometimes when I try to touch the button on the trunk to open it it won't open; I didn't have any of these issues before they fixed my car they messed up my electrical system so I feel their level of working on luxury cars is lacking. Also, my front end bumper was not put back properly it won't snap back you can tell it's not hooked all the way; the issue I had was under the bumper not the side of the bumper so they messed that up and I don't appreciate it. I went in to have a coolant flush done on my old (1998) car. An inspection was done. Joey explained to me that due to significant rust issues in the sub frame of my car and some other issues, he didn't recommend doing the work as my car needs to be replaced sooner rather than later. An inspection report of issues was provided, including an electronic link with all details, photos and videos. I went to other places and was told nothing was wrong to it needed a new catalytic converter and muffler($2,500). The folks at Clark's Car Care did the diagnostics by the book and found multiple leaks in the exhaust system which they repaired for $250. They walked me through the whole process showed me what was wrong and how it would be repaired. The vibe their was they wanted to do a good job and cared.
