The good - friendly service writer that seemed responsive, he even provided me discounts on brake service and oil change. The bad - when we picked up my wife's vehicle the carpet and seat had oil residue on them. I emailed picture to our service writer and never heard back from him. Later on I received a text inquiring about my experience with their service; so I replied and mentioned the oil on the carpeting and seat. I never received a response from them. I'm not sure if I will take my wife's car back there for future service? read more

I've been coming here for a couple years with my 2016 BMW five series with 114k miles. These guys are low pressure, highly capable and know exactly what the car needs and doesn't need. There is no upsell or "doom and gloom" reports like I got from Bill Jacobs BMW for so many years. They give me honest feedback and tell me only the things that are necessary And even when I make some suggestions that could be costly repairs they say I just don't need it yet. That's true honesty I think and I'm glad they're so close, they have a shuttle to get me home, they have a key lockbox to deliver my car after they close, and they have a four year warranty on their work and parts, which is amazing. read more

Guys were friendly enough but after I told them my mini was having an electrical issue and the engine was fine, they told me bring it in they will check it. I was called within a couple hours which was good BUT they told me the engine was fine ( I told them that) and if I wanted them to dig further they could but they are estimating 5 hours of checking for $789. The kicker?? There was no guarantee they would find the issue AFTER I paid them close to $800. What cuckoo bird is keeping this place open????? I told them forget it, I'll take it to the dealer, who only charges $189.99. I don't get it. The guys were friendly and all but wow I can't believe anyone would drop $800 and still no know what's going on. Better off going to a dealer. read more

Update: I bought the gsm on eBay also known as the tcm "transmission control module" that the seller already programmed to my vin number with. I paid $295 + $20 shipping from the seller who has an auto shop in North Carolina called RPM Motorsports. It was literally plug and play. I took out the computer tcm and installed the new one. It took me around 5 minutes. My BMW runs and shifts perfectly while this shop located in Plainfield, IL was trying to scam me for $4,000. To everyone reading this please stay away from PKW Motorwerks. They running a scheme business scamming customers that don't know anything about mechanical issues. A $315 dollar job that cost me out of my pocket, these people were trying to get me for $4,000. This is illegal and fraudulent this shop needs to be shut down immediately, not to mention the $1,600 brake job for the rear brakes. I bought the brakes, rotors, and calipers and took them to Oxbo located in Joliet, IL and they did the job for $160 including tax. Stay away from PKW Motorwerks this business is running a scheme, please do a research on what you getting fix. Get a second and third opinion even a fourth one. I spoke to multiple mechanics and even them were shocked went I showed them the price that they were charging me. I end up saving $3,685 but that's because I already know what was going on. Me thinking this was going to cost me $500 end up being only $315 doing the job myself. read more

I would not recommend them to any one. Horrible work from them, Charged me over $7,000.00 for some work that they never did.Took both my cars to get fixed and they were running fine.They drop them off at my garage after 8 months of them "working" on them, they were non stop smoking and not running. I tried asking Josh why would I give him my car running and he returns the car NON RUNNING and he said "I don't know how to answer to that but you still need to pay us". After he returned my car I took them to another shop and had them fix them, the cars were fixed within 2 weeks!!! and I was only charged $2,000.00, I tried to go and contact Josh because I was not going to pay $7,000.00 for something he did not fix. He stated that he did an oil change on both cars and that he switched the batteries on both cars. Also I had to pay the service fee, that he would deduct $500.00 off because I was not satisfied. I just don't understand as to how 2 oil changes and 2 batteries plus service go to $7,000.00, My new mechanic also stated that they damaged my car on the support for the lift and had to get that redone. They also dropped both cars off with no gasoline as well as one of them had no brakes. I contacted my bank and will be disputing the charges because they are a horrible shop please stay away from them. read more

I had the best experience at PKW! I made an appointment to bring my Jaguar there for and Oil Change and winter inspection service. I couldn't be happier with the service they provided. Everyone was so friendly and kept me informed during the process, they were quick and efficient:) I also loved how they send you a text link of everything performed on your car and what problems they found/if any. They also follow up with a text afterwards to see how your service went. I will never bring my car anywhere else and if you have a European auto I suggest you try them out and see for yourself:) I am telling everyone I know with European cars to go here! They're one of the most honest small business out there and I would definitely recommend them for your European car repair. They're very patient explaining every detail of the repair and provide updates on a timely manner. I even got a detailed report with pictures of the all the repair that's required of my mbenz truck along with the quote. Don't expect a fancy reception areas and sparkling clean showrooms like most dealerships would provide, but you would definitely get an honest, personalized approach, knowledgable service at a more reasonable cost. Great customer service. Brought my vehicle in for a brake job and fluid flush, they quoted my a price for the repairs and I agreed. When working on my car they noticed they brakes only needed to be adjusted. They could have installed new brakes anyway because I agreed to it but instead they charged me only labor and told me to come back when the brakes actually need replacement. Super honest!!! Excellent - I have been searching for months for a automotive shop that could access the software of my MiniCooper S Roadster to activate the rear fog lights (Mini would not turn them on per corporate policy), every place I tried could not do it. When I called here they were confident that they could do it. After spending time trying to get into the system to manipulate the software without luck, some research gave light on the tools needed, while they did not have this specific program, they located another friend who did, they brought it over that evening and were able to get into the software and activate the lights. They went above and beyond the norm to solve the problem and extremely reasonable fees as well. read more

I am only giving this shop 1 star because I cannot give it 0. I took my car in for a general inspection. I was informed less than an hour after dropping my car off that my car needed an entirely new engine. Mind you, I dropped off my car with a small brake issue and nothing more. Immediately they started discussing a payment plan. They gave me an estimate of $6300 to replace my engine. When I picked up my car, I asked to speak to the lead mechanic. When questioned, they appeared very nervous and defensive. I was told they would give me an oil change. I left the shop upset and confused. I took my car to a different mechanic the same day. My engine was completely fine and I only needed my vacuum pump replaced. I ended up paying a fraction of what PKW estimated. I was also informed by my new mechanic that there was almost no oil in my car even though PKW had just supposedly gave me an oil change. Not only that but that a lug nut in my tire would not come off while others were able to be screwed off with bare hands. I will never take my car back to PKW. I am disgusted that mechanics think they can take advantage of their potential customers. read more
