When we entered, we noticed it was a small place, packed with a lot of people, but we loved the vibe, so we decided to stay. The bartenders were really nice. We enjoyed talking to them and learning about the area and the history of the brewery. They explained that they had been in business for about 24 years. Bozeman Brewery is one of those places that makes you feel welcome, and you want to go back. My favorite beer was their Plum Street Porter. No food but popcorn

We went up & ordered right away. This (our 3rd stop in Montana) was the 1st place to hand us the 3 stamp card. We, not being from Montana, looked at it as if he'd handed us a random appendage from his body, no doubt. All we were trying to do was pay for our drink - ha. His explanation was "that's our tab, if you decide you want another, bring the card up." We tried to explain that we didn't want another. We were only having one & we'd like to pay. He told us to hold on to the card & pay after we were done. We went out back to the permanent food truck and ordered Kels kryptonite, the pretzel & a chicken & Belgian waffle w/ hot honey. It took about 20min. While we waited, we sipped our beer and flipped these cards over looking for clues... then we took to Google... then we spied on other people. Maybe we would have enjoyed the beer more if we knew what these cards were for and what the heck we were supposed to do with them! Fossil Fuel IPA scored a 3.25 from Kel n/a from me The Capone Oatmeal Stout a 3.5 from Kel 3.25 me Both on the average side with no major knocks or stand outs for features. The food was fresh & tasty - we wrapped up & went inside. We were asked for our cards, our book was stamped, we paid for 1 beer & went out still lost... At our NEXT stop, the barkeep explained that by Montana law, there's a 3 pour limit & a lot of larger places uses cards to track pours (aha!) & a strict 8pm cut off for taps - which we came waaay too close to!

The beer we got from this brewery was Palisade which was a sour and fruited beer that we really liked ! The fruit that does it's work here is Guava and that usually works quite well in beer form! There is also sour, tart, fruity and a dry finish that all rolls together quite nicely. A great layout of flavor and not too sweet at all as some fruit beers encounter this which makes it seem more like Kool-Aid than anything else. Not a problem here at all!

It was a thorn in my side…read morenot to stop in Bozeman last time I passed through to try their breweries around a year ago so my most recent trip to the Big Sky state was primarily featured for Bozeman only. I have to say Bunkhouse Brewery was one of my favorites here in town. I thought their beers were creative and more on the experimental side but what really drew me into one of their beers was an ESB (Extra Special Bitter) and the one I had had brown sugar in it which really put a great spin on this beer type I've had on a variety of occasions. The specific name for this beer is the Bozeman Pride ESB. The brown sugar in this beer tempers the bitterness and you can taste the brown sugar itself in the flavor profile. This gives the beer a great complexity which made this beer a super fun and memorable beer to enjoy and drink. I could easily delve in for another time and time again.

What I had here was a beer type I don't often come across so it was very refreshing to get a change of pace. What I had was the Rope Tow Kellerbier. Kellerbiers aren't something I come across often. This beer is an unfinished, unfiltered and naturally carbonated lager. Flavor features involved floral and sweet with a crisp finish. The beer is light bodied which is something I appreciate these days more often than not. The atmosphere is nice with the astroturf look and offered a unique spin in that regard compared to the other breweries I paid a visit to in Bozeman.

Reason why I say this is almost each and every time I go to a distillery I enjoy it immensely and almost always shell out five stars for my review of it, four stars minimum. I know a bad brewery when I try one but not so sure with distilleries. So bearing that in mind and if you go off of what the other reviews say for what's posted for Wildrye Distilling you will find as an average that they come in at five stars. So if there are more distillery snobs that came here they gave it a ringing endorsement as well as I am doing. Wildrye looks to be in a newer neighborhood and development of mixed business and housing. It's in a nice corner and it was probably one of the busiest places I went to out of all of the numerous places I stopped at in Bozeman. In fact it was so busy it took a while to get a drink order placed and the bartender informed me as such. So I took a seat and waited and got my order placed after a bit. The bartender was so aware of his customers and gave me a little bit of a discount on my drink for the wait despite me never complaining to him about it which was really nice of him to do! The drink I got was a really good one! It was the Basil Smash. And as the name indicates it is indeed loaded with basil. It was extremely refreshing and so very well made!
