When I came to pick up the dress (silky material), there were damages (nits and scrapes) all over the dress (front, back, arms, everywhere). Not only that, the alterations were so poorly executed. The arms weren't straight. They were all wonky. The seams don't line up. I honestly can't believe how horrible it is. I told her i was not happy with it and there were damages all over the dress. Her response was, "you said this was a cheap dress, so I gave you cheap discount." Firstly, I never said those words. She was making stuff up to cover up her mistakes. I told her I do not want to come in again. I want a refund for the alterations and my dress. She insisted come in on Tuesday to talk to her manager. And ignored me and went to the next customer. I don't have high hopes to be honest. I will be taking this to customer service. Overall, I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANY EXPENSIVE GARMENTS. The service is good and my clothes are usually ready for pick up earlier than expected. They will send an email when items are ready, so do check your email, otherwise just pop by with the pick-up receipt on the date/time stated. You can also bring the altered item home to try. If it is not done right, bring it back and they will re-work it at no additional charge. That happened to my jeans which was still too long despite the hemming done. The location is also very convenient as it is right in Metrotown and nearer to the skytrain and bus loop area. Parking can be a pain as it is always crowded though.

I went into this store to see if they could help me. The lady saw the shoe in my hand, and before I even got to the counter, said, "we don't do shoes". I started to explain that it wasn't a shoe repair that I wanted, but she repeated, more forcefully, "we don't do shoes". I got a couple more words out when she repeated it a third time, like I was an idiot. At that point I gave up, said "OK", and left. OK, I get it, they don't do shoes. The first was a pair of Lululemon shorts that I had been quoted $12 elsewhere for a new button and clasp. Yet another shop told me they couldn't do it at all. May quoted me $3-$4 and with a turnaround of a few days, which was perfect for my needs. The work looked great upon pickup! My second article was a button up-shirt that had a similar issue. Again, the work looks great and the price was excellent. Parking is strictly metered in the area, though there are some parking garages in the vicinity as well. A number of buses go by here, and it's only a block or two from Cartem's if that tickles your fancy! I would consider this place to be a hidden gem. The ladies that work here are nice to work with, have a very reasonable turn around and most importantly do excellent work. Highly recommended!

The hem and entire bottom of the pants is damaged, like there was a fight between the sewing machine needle and the clothes, and now it's all chewed. She damaged the front of the pants at the thigh, too, with pulled threads (maybe that got caught in the machine too?). The hem job fell apart immediately, on the left side; the time it took for me to try the pants on and check them out in a mirror. And she cut them UNEVEN, from one side to the other OF THE SAME HEM, so there is a solid one cm difference in length. Like they couldn't give a shit how shoddy a job they did. Wish I could post a photo, it's so bad. RUN AWAY! (btw, I have never written a review before, but it's so very awful that I just had to say something, and if you're smart you won't go back there, having not heeded the warnings, to have them 'give it another shot' after they mess your stuff up, to make it orders of magnitude worse.
