I took a dress in couple weeks ago to get the arms shortens and the sides of the waist taken in. The lady's name is Julie (emp#334899). She told me the cost is $60 so I paid and left. When I came to pick up the dress (silky material), there were damages (nits and scrapes) all over the dress (front, back, arms, everywhere). Not only that, the alterations were so poorly executed. The arms weren't straight. They were all wonky. The seams don't line up. I honestly can't believe how horrible it is. I told her i was not happy with it and there were damages all over the dress. Her response was, "you said this was a cheap dress, so I gave you cheap discount." Firstly, I never said those words. She was making stuff up to cover up her mistakes. I told her I do not want to come in again. I want a refund for the alterations and my dress. She insisted come in on Tuesday to talk to her manager. And ignored me and went to the next customer. I don't have high hopes to be honest. I will be taking this to customer service. Overall, I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANY EXPENSIVE GARMENTS. The lady that helped me was not professional. She raised her voice, she was defensive, she denied the damages and was absolute ZERO help at all. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. This place has been around for a long time and the staff is good at what they do. They are not the cheapest but I find the rates reasonable. The service is good and my clothes are usually ready for pick up earlier than expected. They will send an email when items are ready, so do check your email, otherwise just pop by with the pick-up receipt on the date/time stated. You can also bring the altered item home to try. If it is not done right, bring it back and they will re-work it at no additional charge. That happened to my jeans which was still too long despite the hemming done. The location is also very convenient as it is right in Metrotown and nearer to the skytrain and bus loop area. Parking can be a pain as it is always crowded though. read more

I went into Stitch It hoping that they can price me fairly on a hem for a casual summer dress for a wedding. Not only was the lady there named, Amy, incredibly rude but also trying to severely overcharge me. For a hem of 2 inches, she quoted me a whopping $50 which is more than what I bought the dress for. When I asked why that much, she scoffed at me disrespectfully and said that the hem isn't easy since there's ruffles at the end (like WHATT? HOW DOES THAT EVEN MAKE ANY SENSE?). I also read a previous review that a wedding dress hem cost $50 so I'm not sure how a summer dress of lesser quality material and no embellishments could cost the same. Perhaps they changed owners or inflated their prices due to Covid/competition. Either way, i highly DO NOT recommend going here. It's not worth the price and judging from past reviews, the job done isn't even worth the price you pay at a premium. I took my business to Two Sister's on Kingsway and they quoted me only $20. Been going to this Stitch It for long time. Not sure if owners have changed recently. A lot of regular employees aren't there anymore Got my suite jacket cuffs hemmed. Communication wasn't like before, where they explained what to expect. I left the store expecting one thing and when I came back for the pickup, I was disappointed in receiving what I got. The Altered cuffs was just simply folded and stitched, showing a stitched line on the outside of the cuffs. I don't know why they would do that when I explained I wanted the same look. I don't want this review to be a life story about how I get attached to some of my attire. Usually clothes that I purchase new are worn for a few years and then donated before they malfunction. However, I had a sport jacket from Guess Jeans I bought over 10 years ago. Very versatile colors, perfect fit for my long skinny body and comfortable. It was surprisingly well made with good cotton / polyester blend which I can't say the same for their current line up of 2018 styles. I can't find something like this anywhere anymore. Even if a high end brand like Armani Exchange sold this, the sizing would not be perfect. So one day the zipper stopped working. I thought I would donate it but then never had the willpower to let go of something so perfect. After a year of keeping it in my closet, I decided to bring it to Stitch-It in metrotown to see if they could fix it. Suprisingly for $12, they replaced the zipper with an identical colored one and had it ready within a day. What is more impressive is they called me to let me know it was done. This is my go to place to get my pants altered every season when I get dress pants. I have short people problems, therefore, they need to be altered. Very reasonable cost of 10 - 12 bucks depending on the stitching used. The customer service has always been awesome and the turn around time has been done within 1 - 2 hours or better. I leave my pants and shop elsewhere. I took one of my cosplay costumes earlier in the year to alter the sleeves. Very nice stitch finishing.
