I brought my expensive velvet shirt to have the bottom hemmed, and it was returned back to me with one big hole plus 2 tiny ones on it. I only noticed it when I got back home and immediately phoned them regarding the issue. The owner (short bald Chinese man) was extremely dismissive and refused to take responsibility for their mistake. I should have followed my instinct at first (and leave) when they demanded I pay full in advance and not after picking up my item. Furthermore, on the day I first went to pick up my shirt, they could not find it and was told to come back later, it just shows how irresponsible they are. They are money grabbing people with no ethics in my opinion.

As usual, my Yelp pals set me on the right course by recommending a great place, as I had asked…read morewhere to go for my kid to get a prom dress altered, and many suggested this place. So glad they directed me here! You can tell the lady and man who work here (husband and wife?) have been here forever and they truly know their craft. And they do excellent work that is totally guaranteed. They made it clear to feel free to return if the dress wasn't perfect. I really like that! Perhaps it's a Vancouver thing, but they required that you pay upfront, when you drop off your clothes for tailoring. (In contrast, when I lived in Seattle, there you paid for the services rendered when you pick up your clothes. Not in advance, before). I thought that was weird. (Again, perhaps this is the norm in Van city, I don't know). Also, the prices here are quite high. They do a high quality job, but you're going to pay for it. (As a result, if I didn't have expensive or special clothes for tailoring, I don't know if I'd come here for alterations. Something to keep in mind). Also, we were told that my kid's dress would be ready today. That's the date that was put on our receipt and I put in my calendar. The shop closes at 6pm so my kid and I rushed to get here before closing. We arrived at 5:45pm and the lady said the dress wasn't ready. I noted that they said that today was pick-up day, so the lady requested that we come back in half an hour and it'd be ready then. So my kid and I went for dinner (what a cute area this is!) and returned and, whew! The dress was ready. I felt bad that they had to stay later but, hey, it was their error. So, my advice is, prior to rushing here to pick up any item that was tailored, I'd recommend calling first to make sure it is, indeed, ready.
