Needed some alterations to a pair of pants today for an event this evening. I'd lost a hem, and wanted them let out a little bit. I got there around 10am, and the fellow that runs the shop wasn't there yet, so I called the number he posted on the door ("If i'm not here, you can reach me at..."). Ten minutes later he was chalking up the pants and let me know I can pick them up in about an hour and half. The quality of work was great, a little bit more than I was expecting to pay, but I was very impressed by the work, and the friendly service. I'll go back. Note: It's on the 7th floor. read more

I had to get my suit tailored. I had a collar gap in my jacket and needed to get my pants tapered. He gave me a time frame of 10 days. I came back 11 days later and he hadn't done anything. Told me to come back two days later. He had me try on the suit saying he had tailored the suit. The suit was exactly the same as I had left it for him. He hadn't done a thing to tailor my suit. Told me to come back two hours later and he would fix it. Came back two hours later. The collar gap was better, but not good enough. The pants were good though. He rushed me out of there. Saying he's closed and refused to further tailor the collar gap in the jacket. He charged me $390 cash only for this job. Not cheap! I was under the impression you get what you pay for. Although I'm sure the quality of work would have been great, I was not impressed with the price I was given to tailor my bridesmaid dress. The final price was $375.00... Which was more then what I paid for this bridesmaid dress in the first place. I left with my dress and had it tailored elsewhere and it costed $75.00. read more

Great tailor! Very nice and friendly, and most importantly, honest. It's clear that D. A. is a very skilled tailor; I came in here needing to get some things hemmed ASAP and all other places that offered alterations in the area were closed. Luckily this was still open at 6, and was told alterations would be ready next day. Difficult to find a tailor downtown open after work and be as polite and friendly as D.A! Unreasonable over the phone, wouldn't even provide an order of magnitude estimate for a simple repair, and then hung up on me .... not how you treat prospective customers. read more

D.A. LE did a great job fixing my briefcase when other tailors refused to. The price was very reasonable considering the quality of the work and it was ready ahead of schedule. D.A. LE was very friendly, knowledgable and used creative approaches to keep the price down (i.e. re-dying the material instead of replacing all of it. No one else I spoke to mentioned that that might be feasible, and the result was both cost-effective and looked great.) read more

I brought in a pair of padded leather motorcycle pants that were a couple sizes too big and long. Le said "No problem. I can fix them for you." After a few measurements and one or two more quick visits to try them on I had my pants at the agreed price. I took them home and went for a motorbike ride only to find that they needed to be tapered and to have a zipper added to each pant leg. I phoned Le, he said "no problem", so I brought them back in and a day or two later, donezo! Killer pants that fit great. He's cash only and you should come be prepared to pay about half down. He's not always there so it's best to phone ahead. read more

I had my suit tailored here. It cost almost $500! (cash only) I thought because I was paying more that I would get an exceptional job done. That was not the case! I was very unhappy with the alterations and asked him to fix it. He said he has too much other work to do. read more

Can I give zero stars? I came to have 3 pairs of pants tapered, all simple jobs as the pants were quite basic. I had the exact same thing done last month and got charged a total of $80 at Master's Tailor a block away. Unfortunately they were closed and I ended up at the next closest place. I figured the price would be around the same. Boy was I wrong, the owner said the cost was $95 PER PAIR. When I let him know this was way to much and that I had a similar job done for 1/4 the cost he got really agitated and defensive. I went on to May's Fashion on West Pender and was charged $45 for two pairs of pants, the 3rd pair was a little beaten up and she said it wasn't worth getting fixed but would be $10 if I wanted to go through with it. I will never go back to D.A LE Tailor and don't recommend anyone else go either. read more

Had a fur coat repaired - great service, quick turn around and affordable. The end result was awesome. The only bummer is they're Cash Only!

I tore my favorite leather pants on the knee and took it to my regular tailor to get fixed. She stitched it back together, and as soon as I wore the pants it tore up right from the same place, except much worst (since now it had been altered once). So, I bought it down to D.A.LE, and he did an amazing job it fixing it. They look brand new now, with no signs of the tear. Plus he put in additional lining to avoid future tears. It's cash only though, so remember to have cash in hand when you go in. read more

I just used this tailor for the first time from a recommendation I read on Yelp. I cannot express how good this tailor is. He is kind, accommodating, and his level of expertise is compared to none. He turned my leather pencil skirt from a paper bag to a sleek flawlessly fitted piece that I will wear for years. He is worth every cent!!!! read more

I brought in a leather jacket after searching Downtown listings for alterations. Mr Le did a fine job on a jacket that could not have been worn as it was. The jacket was done in the time promised, and now looks as though it was custom made to fit. He even treated the leather, as it was new, and made the zipper slide more easily. I had an emergency tailoring job today and when I found D.A.L.E. on Yelp I called because he was nearby and other reviews had said he was fast! He certainly was fast. My dress was finished in under an hour and he even made another adjustment when I tried it on before leaving. He was friendly and meticulous! Price was standard and great speedy service!
