Walter is a friendly and eccentric tailor who was able to fix things up for us while on vacation in Vancouver. He was done in under an hour, and on a holiday no less! I just came out of their store and very disappointed. I asked to get my straps on my dress tightened and prior to getting it stitched he did not warn me it would ruin my dress. The stitching ended up being so uneven and he was not willing to fix it because he said "I destroyed it, you have to leave it like that" I'm honestly traumatized I just paid $20 for this and they guilt tripped me into paying them. My $80 dress is now ruined and I just paid an extra $20 for nothing. read more

Wanted to give this place a chance, as reviews on google rated it highly, but super disappointed with what I got. Went to get the waist on some shorts taken in 1/2 an inch. He required up-front payment of $40, which is pretty steep considering the end result. Upon first glance, the shorts look decent; however, when you look closer, it's an awful job. Took a week for the shorts to be completed, but it looked like it was a rush job. He couldn't even be bothered to reattach the seams back to how they originally were, nor use threading that matched the original seams. It's apparent the stitches are not aligned and have also detached - I haven't even worn them yet. I also brought in the same exact pair of shorts, in black, as a reference so there wouldn't be any discrepancies. The black pair in the photos have not been altered. The white pair is what I received in return. read more

Charged me $20 for my wedding suit pants to be hemmed (seemed expensive for something that took him 2 minutes). My suit fits me perfectly, then he pinned it extremely tightly, trying to convince me that looked better and to do an alteration. Thankfully I declined! He put a BLUE chalk alteration mark on my fiance's white wedding dress. AFTERWARDS, he said he didn't know how to do the alteration, then tried to convince us the dress didn't need alterations at all. He said the blue chalk would come right off. We took it to a dry cleaner and the chalk stain is still there. I can see how some people might like his straight forwardness, I just found the place dirty, expensive and untrustworthy; plus he ruined a brand new wedding dress! read more

Let me preface this by saying this is the first time I've ever written a review on Yelp, after having used it for so many years. However, I felt like Walter the Tailor deserved a special review. I had a great experience there. I went in to get a pair of pants hemmed and Walter offered to do my pants on the spot. He was so sweet and kind to talk to and did such an amazing job. Having been in the business for 50+ years, he is now the person I trust with my garments as I've had some not-so-great experiences elsewhere. Excellent service and always with a smile, I needed my suit fixed last minute at 9:00 pm and he did a great job

Worked some sort of cash deal with a lady who works at Moore's which is across the parking lot to have "Walter" alter the suits off the rack - my mistake. Wasn't cheap, considering I had to pay in cash. Within three months (after wearing the suits probably twice each) the stitching/alterations on the sleeve of the jackets were unraveling and each coat was a mess. If it was one sleeve on one suit, sure fine, my bad. But it was all four sleeves on both jackets. This guy is a rip-off and not a "master tailor" by any means. If you peak into his "store front" its a hole in the wall with clothing strewn everywhere - the guy is a hack and I would not spend another cent in this boutique of misfit crap. NEXT! read more

Had a fantastic experience with Walter, a total contrast to some other reviews. He was genuine, pleasant and seemed to really enjoy his work. I was referred by Moore's suit shop around the corner. It was cozy and cluttered, but not disorganized. I told Walter I needed my pants done very soon for an upcoming trip and he offered to let me sit in and watch him work on them. I thought it would take at least a day or two, but he had both pants done in 15 minutes while we had a great discussion about his passion for chess. Really enjoyable service - you don't get that kind of personable reception from shops much nowadays. Will definitely return for any future tailoring needs. read more

I am eighty years of age, and I know Walter for years. He has been my tailor for last many years. He is a wonderful and a very good experienced tailor. In my experience, I can boldly write that he has the magic fingers. His work out live the material itself. He is very polite and honest person, always smiling and treat his customers as his good friends. A very religious person too. His charges are very reasonable, as he is working on his own. A very hard working person and most reliable. If he promise, he will keep the promise at any cost, a very reliable person. As the saying goes, the proof is in the pudding. He has been in business for many years, which says it all. I will strongly recommend any one who is looking to stitch or repair his/her clothing, and/or is looking to have a made to measure garment.
