I took my suit jacket to Fatima to shorten my shoulders. When I asked her whether she had any experience doing this job, she assured me that she has done it many times and very successfully. Well, she lied to my face. You can imagine my disappointments when I saw the devastating results of her final work: the right shoulder and the sleeve became shorter than the left ones, the right chest became wider than the left one, and a group of unexplained wrinkles and greasy spots suddenly appeared here and there. Extremely fast turn-around (20 min!) to fix my pack. The fixes look like they will hold (I'll update if that changes) but I've seen better "looking" work at the old place on Kingsway that no longer exists. $25 for 2 areas that were going to make the pack not usable and they were getting worse daily. I'm not too picky about the perfect stitchwork that but the overall experience left me with this feeling: -for basic material work where astherics don't matter so much, the coneneinece and speed here is excellent and I'd go back -if I'm looking for fine tailoring (which isn't what they really do), or my gear is needing repair on critical load bearing straps etc. I might first ask what exactly they plan to do (again the guy on Kingsway always mapped out his solution and explained it). read more

I had a backpack that I had blown the zipper and could not get a shop to fix the zipper not necessarily replace it for a bunch of money. Fatima looked at it and without even breaking her stride of pleasant conversation fixed the problem in 5 minutes. She barely took any money for her time and expertise. She is a seasoned pro. I accidentally ripped my brand new ski jacket in a difficult to reach area between the collar and the hood. I kicked myself for days after it happened. I quickly learned that you can't just get outer wear repaired at a regular tailor shop. I found this place after several hours searching on Google, Yelp, and calling some stores. Let me start off with the result. It was good. The nice lady, in the end, explained to me that she took the jacket "apart" and fixed the rip from the inside. The seams were really nice. Could barely distinguish repair from original seams. The main issue was that the hours of the shop are not great. When I first attempted to drop off my jacket right when they opened, it turned out that they decided to open 2 hours late. The shop is definitely a small "mom and pop shop". Good place to repair jackets, tents, and waterproof fabric. read more

I took a jacket in to have the zipper fixed and she replaced the slider while I waited! Cost me $14 and zero hassle. I'll have to wait to see how the zipper holds up before I can release the 5th star :) read more

I have been twice to get things fixed, including a backpack and both were sewed very well and timely. The people that work here have been really good to work with , too. Many people probably have clothes or outdoor gear that have an issue --- these people can get you back together again soon and affordably. read more

The stitching that attached the shoulder strap of my hard-shell backpack had pulled loose and Stitchers solidly restitched them. No fuss, and the fix looks stronger than the original, for just $28 (10% the cost of a new pack). I was in no rush, so they had my pack for 4 days, but when I come to get it it was ready as promised. Fatima did an outstanding job in altering a canvas cover for our outdoor sectional. It was complicated and she managed to formulate what our ideas were and came up with a product even better than we expected. We couldn't have been happier!! Great place! One side of the double zipper on the main portion of my pack had come loose. She was able to open up the seams and replace it in only a few minutes, for $20. Look for the sandwich-board sign among many across from MEC. read more

The woman here is very nice and she will fix your gear so that it's technically sound - but it will not be aesthetically nice. Her work is haphazard and sloppy. My jacket was so butchered I had to take it to someone else to fix the damage and re-sew. read more

Sadly, this business seems to have gone downhill. Perhaps ownership has changed. My last repair was done very poorly. My latest experience involved bringing in an item for a simple zipper replacement. A week later on my scheduled pick-up day the item hadn't been touched - no effort to call me, no explanation, nothing. Give this place a pass. read more
