I highly recommend Awl Together Leather. The staff there are very friendly and helpful. I also found them knowledgeable and efficient. I took my boots in to get the heels redone. I left them, they emailed me a detailed receipt as well as a hard copy and emailed when the boots were ready. I just had to pick up. The place has some cool items in there and they have items to care for shoes. They can repair and make all things leather. So glad I found this place and it was recommended to me. Will be taking my leather purse for repair next. read more

I had two designer leather bag handles extended. They have long wait times which is a good sign, that they have a lot of business. I was happy with the additional leather buckles they added that were close to the original. One part of the stitching started to unravel. They repaired it within 20 minutes. Would recommend! read more

Awl Together Leather - Restitched and extended ... - Leather Goods Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

It was a bit out of my way, but Awl Together responded to my inquiry about making a repair to the worn collar of my 50 year old leather jacket. They described a repair that would maintain my jacket's usefulness, without breaking my bank account. I had no hesitation paying them in advance and was successful in having the jacket picked up by a 3rd party with no further problems. I appreciated their excellent communication via text messaging. These people are great artisans, they reconditioned my 68 year old satchel that has survived my high school years, 18 years of military service from Turkey to Vietnam, Greece, Germany, assignments in Italy, South Africa, Zimbabwe, England, Thailand, and across the US and Canada. They repaired the lining, cover flap, Zippers, various wears and tears and then coated, waterproofed and conditioned the exterior! I have now given them my A-2 Pilot Jacket that was issued to me 55 years ago, to replace the cuffs, refurbish the worn exterior, sew the pockets, seal and moisturize the finish! read more

Price/quality (4/4): I took my leather jacket in for repairs after my cat put a few tears in it. The repairs weren't exactly cheap, but the results were great--the tears are now barely visible and they definitely don't look like they'll be opening up again. You get what you pay for, and there's also a lifetime warranty on their repairs. Service (1/1): Service was friendly and they answered all my questions. Would I come here again: Yes read more

THE BEST!!! I am so happy with the work Ariss did with my boots and belt. I've been wearing white belts for 20yrs...maybe it's the ska or emo thing, I don't know but I just love the look of it...and I always find these crappy belts that cost around $40, that look like crap in 2 weeks, and I end up buying a new one every few months. I got an amazing thick white leather belt made for only $65! The quality of the product is so awesome! I also had a $500 pair of Fluevog motorcycle boots that I bought in 2012, that are comfy and I love, but my little sausage legs are too big for the top 3 inches to zip up comfortably. Ariss put in 2 little leather triangles to make the top few inches a bit wider... instead of having to do the typical wider stretchy zipper thing.... and they fit amazing! I can now wear pants underneath, not just tights... even tights with big wooly socks if I wanted. And the job is so perfect you can't even tell that they didn't come like that! Almost 10 years and I can finally wear these all the time without my legs bulging over the top of the overstretched zipper. And everything was done in a few weeks! I am so stoked I found them! This place is a total gem, and I've already told 3 people just today about this place. Will definitely recommend to anyone! Thank you!! read more

I must say that I have been very disappointed with the service here. I brought sandals to be repaired and was given a date three weeks later for pick-up. When I arrived on that date I was told the sandals were not ready. I received no apology or any confirmation that they were at fault. An hour later got an email to say the sandals were ready. By that time I had gone to my home which is not in the same neighbourhood. This meant that I had to make a second journey to pick them up. Again no apology. On another occasion I needed a few stitches in the strap of a bag. The strap was twisted after they repaired it. Given the rudeness that I. experienced I never bothered returning to ask then to fix it. I have since found a shoemaker with social skills and manners read more

I brought an Australian Leather vest for a simple adjustment for which I was charged $130!!!! Plus tax. It took two weeks longer then promised and the outcome was terrible!! Changed the shape of the vest and when I showed the issue to the person she put some clips on and said it would be an additional charge to fix the problem they created. Very disappointing! read more

I took in three motorcycle jackets, two that needed new front zippers and one that needed to be fully relined. Amazingly, the very pleasant and helpful staff were able to repair one jacket in less than ten minutes while I waited. That's customer service! The other two jackets were finished in two weeks, and I received an email as soon as they were ready to be picked up. The quality of the repairs was excellent, and the pricing was very reasonable. The new lining is of better quality and craftsmanship than the original and that was an $800 jacket twenty years ago. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely be back. I was also impressed with the quality of the other leather products and goods they had in stock in the store. read more

My Jeep's soft top's back panel zipper started to Frey. Brought it to Awl Together Leather and they fixed it in a couple days for the low price of $30.00 w/ parts included. They saved me from a very expensive purchase if I had to replace it. I highly recommend this business. read more

The whole experience was great. Booked a Zoom discussion with Ariss so I could explain what I wanted (Seatbelt holder for my old convertible) which is unique. She designed it up and had it ready as promised. I'll be going back to her for the 2nd strap when I'm ready for it. read more

Good points: quick turnover - was quoted 10 days, got it in a day and a half. Machine-stitched repair on a leather jacket was satisfactory. Full staff, everybody is white, female, speak & understand english - bit rare these days. Not so good: pricey (but if you've ever had leather dry-cleaned - and it didn'i end up in a 2nd hand store - you can probably afford it). What I found irksome: you have to pay in full in advance when ordering. Left me wondering what happens when a customer ISN'T satisfied! (like pre-paying in a restaurant - food not to your liking? Then don't eat it!). A deposit is customary so there may have been some payment problems in past. Lengthy estimate (lot of computer research for a few seams to be machine-stitched) - with their pricing & payment policy, it's just as well! Quote was high, $75, twice what I paid for it at "Value" Village). Had to forget an inch and a half seam repair on both sleeves as well as a loose buckle. Got down to an 8" underarm seam and a 3-4" elbow-pad seam for $45. Likely could've got this straight-forward repair done cheaper at any grotty little foreign tailor shop. Shop has some mysterious pricing method so it'd be prudent to inquire. This was a one-time repair on an ancient jacket. They did a vest repair for me years ago when affiliated with E. Side so I went back. read more

I'll never return. and you should find an alternate leather shop too. although the work done was adequate It took several extra weeks to retrieve my belongings, of course using the COVID-19 excuse. The bag was supposedly ready almost a month ago, and then it took forever to be able to just place it out on the sidewalk. and when the app was developed for sidewalk pickup, my appointment was rescheduled from the 11am to a 2pm, i assume because 11am is way too early to get up. So we finally agreed on a time for me to go out of my way to get my stuff. it was like my stuff was held hostage until MME was ready to allow poor old me to get it...ooooooooooo read more

I had asked for new shoelaces when filling out my form online but they didn't complete the order and I had to pay for new shoelaces upfront. Also, please have your staff work on their social skills. When a customer says Thank you, don't just yelp back YUP like a little ankle biter of a dog. Say Thanks for coming in, or You're Welcome, or Have a Nice Day. Otherwise some typical eastside service at the end of the day. read more

Absolutely top notch custom leather makers! I needed a custom leather cover for a chrome piece on my Harley motorcycle and they measured it, cut and stitched it and then made sure it fit perfectly! Very happy with the end result! Cheers to great staff! read more

Just had a saddle repaired and it came back looking worse than before it went in. Ariss didn't seem to care, but did admit it was done poorly. There was no effort to fix the problem. Extremely disappointed. read more
