This was my family and I's first time eating here. It had good reviews and was dine in. I should have known to turn around and leave when we weren't greeted upon walking up to the counter to pay first. Or when we were charged $55 for 3 people to eat with sodas for each. All plates and utensils are cheap paper/plastic, you're asked to clear your own table too. There were no labels above/below the food. My family and I each had full plates of food. Bit disappointed there was no white rice. We all got 2 bites of each dish and every single one was cold and disgusting. We immediately got up, didn't clear the table, and asked for a full refund! Cashier gave me the refund and only said "you keep this receipt" "give me your card" "sign this". My family and I will never come back here again! Eat here at your own risk! read more

Delicious! I like this place a lot! They are doing dine in now. When you go in you have to wear a mask and there are gloves available for you. When you are seated you can take your mask off. The utensils and plates are disposable. This place has an awesome selection of sushi. You can get tuna and salmon sashimi as well as a great variety of delicious rolls. They have raw oysters on the half shell available that taste very fresh. Their seafood is awesome. You will get your money's worth here for sure. You can also get a takeout box for a great low price. For a pound of sushi and seafood as well as some other things, I usually spend around $7. This place might look like any other buffet, but the food is awesome. Such a treat. Used to love coming here but a lot has changed. No more wonton soup just hit and sour soup which is not that good they also don't have cream cheese Rangoon's or crab legs. 73 dollars for 3 adults and 1 child !? Ridiculous. If your gonna charge that much atleast have more variety and better flavor the food is not that good like it used to be. This place is Ehhhh at best. They have a lot of interesting options. Didn't really like any of the sushi choices tho. The service was ok I guess like it wasn't good but it's wasn't bad either idk how to even explain it i didn't have a bad experience but I didn't really care for it definitely won't be coming back id definitely go with a better version. So let's just get this out of the way first: this place is a buffet so keep your expectations in check because buffets have notoriously mediocre food. But it's also only $9 so can you really go wrong? Depends. They keep refilling the hot trays so the food is fresh. I saw several trays refilled as I was going back for food which was good. For some reason, only some of the food is labeled so you can't always tell what type of meat it is, has nuts etc. So if you have a lot of dietary restrictions this is definitely not the place for you. But King has several options that range from pretty good to edible. I liked the hot and sour soup, green beans, imitation crab sushi (better than trader joes), spicy shrimp, cocktail shrimp and broccoli beef. I would generally say that the since this is a Chinese run establishment that the Chinese options are better than the American, but they do have both. And they have like 6 ice cream favors! If you're really hungry, and/or craving Chinese this might be the place for you. read more

Was very disappointed. Had three option to choose from before coming here. Was convinced to try this place because of the name NEW King Buffet. Seen this place was 4 star thought it wasn't that bad. Arrived at location and was expecting a much more appealing store front. Look like an underground Buffet. Walk in and was pretty small compare to most Buffet I usually go to. The worker that take care of our empty plate was constantly watching everyone to make sure no one dine and dash. Why I say that cause I had about 3 empty plate and seen other table have empty plates and he wasn't clearing them as expected in a timely matter. Food was cold and selection was horrible. Felt like I had a Buffet at a Chinese fast food joint. My all time favorite coconut shrimp taste like powder and was cold. Very poor experience. Will not be coming back. Only reason I gave 3 star cause it still a decent place for a last minute desperate measure for anyone that have the munchies. Goodluck and do give them a try. Stopped on for lunch today. Like any Chinese buffet you need to be wary of the offerings.....I was very pleased. Asparagus, fresh and cooked perfectly, couldn't get enough! It's about time we had a great buffet choice! This is not your usual American-style buffet. This is your authentic Chinese/Japanese/Asian Fusion buffets we are used to. The service was prompt and we were seated at a small table and offered drinks. I went ahead and got a plate and as I usually do at any new buffet, I started getting one bite of everything. Now usually I will end up with about two or three things that I do not like, but this time I cleaned my plate! I was so surprised at the full-bodied taste and and palatability of all the food that I decided to go back for round two. Again I got one bite of the items I had not gotten during the first round. please don't come here, this place is not sanitary or clean nor good food. they overcharge for entry, the dining area is so cluttered, it's always so hot in here, bathrooms are smelly and not kept up, they clean with dirty smelly towels and the carpets are so nasty and smelly since they spill dirty water on floors as they clean, I've been here 2 times and not by choice and I will never come here again, tbh I'm not sure how they Haven't got shut down! Everything i tried was really good... the sushi rolls couldve been a bit fresher... i like my stuff still kickin, so i am a lil picky when it comes to sushi..But like i said everything i tried was delicious! I think their prices are really reasonabke as well.. the only thing i didnt care for was the ice cream area...it looked not super clean and some of the ice creams were super mushy, the dessert area is not the reason i came here anyways!!! To be fair, I came here because I had a seafood craving and I had eaten here once before. I remember my first experience being a lot better and that's why I came back. During my last visit, there were boiled dungeness crab legs, raw oysters on the half shell, salt and pepper shrimp, still-frozen tuna sashimi, and stir-fried crawfish, etc. among other non-seafood items like their hibachi grill. The dinner price is $11.99 for adults, and Sundays they serve dinner all day. I don't know the children's prices. Anyway, the food here is decent. It's not the best, but also not the worst either. Buffets are typically quantity over quality. Customer service is okay. There's someone assigned to each area who will collect your plates and utensils after you leave your seat. They don't seem to be quick on the drink refills though. I think you have to ask for it or they just assume you don't want anymore. They have a very strict food-wasting policy which is understandable. The women's restroom is disgusting and for some reason the toilet seat was strapped down with a rusty wire. The toilet cover wouldn't even lift up all the way, and the paper towel dispenser was jammed. It's definitely a hole in the wall, not exactly some place I'd take someone I'm trying to impress, but they have some pretty good items. I had an appetite before I used their restroom. read more

New king buffet was hands down the worst abomination of a buffet I've ever been to. Most of the food was old and cold, service was terrible. Kids running around everywhere and a dirty floor. But the worst part about it was the food. I've been to many Chinese buffets but this one takes the cake. Don't waste your $16 and go get some real food. read more

I found the this restaurant by luck as I live in Modesto. However, I will be back! Very tasty food and well prepared. Lots of variety but not over done. I came at 1:30 and food was hot and plentiful.
