I was introduced to Matt through another company when my Cambridge condo had recent extensive water damage, causing somewhere between $40-50K in damages / repairs. I live in California now, and rent my condo out. Matt took all the stress off my plate. He was available right away, ALWAYS responsive in phone, text or email, and worked seamlessly with my insurance. Due to the damages, I had to have flooring and sub flooring taken out and reinstalled, walls opened up, repaired, new cabinets, new paint throughout the condo, reinstall a granite countertop, a new backsplash, along with electric and plumbing work...he took care of either doing or coordinating it all. He went above and beyond, with nothing going unnoticed. He came across many obstacles along the way, but would call me once there was a solution to the problem, or after it was already taken care of. I can't recommend Matt enough for how much he has helped my sanity with my dealing with this from across the country. He has done an incredible job from start to finish.

We had Paul come out and polish our marble vanity top in our bathroom this weekend. He did an…read moreamazing job and restored it to a polished mirror like surface. It looked like it did when it was first installed. Paul was very personable and asked many questions about how we wanted the finish to look. He also educated us about the kind of things that can damage marble, the chemistry of the stone and the polishing process. Setting up the appointment through e-mails worked great. Melissa helped make this happen and then followed up with a call on Monday to make sure that we were pleased with the work. The price was reasonable for the time spent and materials used. I would highly recommend.

We had them restore our ten-year-old carrara marble kitchen counters. The owner, Paul, came to my house a week before the work to assess any little cracks and dings I had not mentioned when they quoted the job via my measurements and photos. While here, Paul applied some "mud" that had to work for a few days to suck some troublesome stains out. That application was a success. Then a two-man crew honed and sealed the counters and caulked some bad joints between counters and backsplash in about three hours. The finished job is fabulous. They even left a gift bag with a bottle of stone cleaner and a logo'd shammy. I highly recommend Boston Stone Restoration.

I used this company to refinish my front stairs. I put in a light color hardwood and wanted the stairs to be stained lighter to match and specifically said to remove orange. they stained my stairs more orange than they originally were and do not match the floors . Worst part is the actual job they did. they did not put plastic at top of my stairs and dust went through my entire upstairs when one sheet of plastic would have saved us the $400 cleaning bill to clean the dust off every wall and item we owned. they did not cover any of the fire alarms. they let the alarms go off the entire day. we had to replace to fire alarms because of the amount of dust that accumulated in them. They got stain all over the kickplate of each stair. i asked them to come back and they painted the kickbacks but got paint on each and every stained step now. lastly they gave me a contract that said they were charging me $100 more for good bona products. they ended up using minwax and still charged me. they were more expensive than the previous company whom did my other two sets of stairs. which match perfect and had no problems but I needed them done sooner than they could fit us in. now I know why this company was available. I have had to hire another company to redo the entire project. they have caused my family so much stress an ore money. I have pictures of everything on Google.

I fell in love with a white wool rug two years ago and just couldn't stop thinking about it, and…read morewhile I don't let anyone wear shoes in my apartment I have a Goldendoodle. Right, a dog who loves the outdoors and can't take his shoes off! I bought the rug anyhow, and after a year I noticed that one side of it looked gray in areas, then I had the "aha" moment that it was where my pup likes to lie. I moved a year ago and just flipped the rug around and bought myself some time. Last month I decided to move again, and looked around to see if this rug was available in a material I could clean at home? No, wool only. I just assumed that sending a rug out for cleaning was hundreds of $$, and that was why I was thinking of calling it a lesson learned and just throw it away. I happened to see a post on NextDoor from someone asking about rug cleaning, and narrowed it down to Boston Rug and Kennedy Carpets. I get up early so I am often emailing at that time, and sent a message to both with details on the rug, size, etc. Received a message from Bahman with all the details, as well as a 20% offer for mentioning "cute dog" (the cute dog on his website is his dog). I said I was moving in a month and would get back to him when I had more details, and when I did, someone came and picked it up the next day and it was back a week later (earlier than expected!!!). I was so anxious to see it when it came back, but was rolled/wrapped up so nicely that I knew to leave it that way for the movers. As soon as I was in my new living room, I unrolled it and it is LIKE NEW!! Hooray!!!! Thanks to Bahman and his crew, I have what looks like a brand new rug again. Thanks so much to them (and the cute dog)!!

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE - I called to order a rug cleaning before the deadline of a discount promotion I received by text. I spoke with someone who answered the phone, who said the head person was out but I would receive a call back. I never did. - I called back the following week. I set up a pickup date, and I mentioned the discount code I was sent via text as I am in their system. - This discount code was not honored. I failed to notice when I paid the bill because our home is under construction, and when I called back to remind their manager she denied that I was ever sent this. When I explained that I couldn't have dreamed up such a code and it was part of the reason I gave them my business again, she still refused to honor it. - When she called to let me know about setting up the delivery, her tone and her comments were accusatory "arent you reading my emails, I have tried to reach you". I apologized, but she proceeded to say "we cant store your rugs here" - again in a very accusatory tone. The email oversight was my bad, my intention was not. As anyone who has had to go through a renovation knows, details can easily get lost when you arent living in your home space. If you are looking for a company that honors their promotions and has professional customer service, go elsewhere. Boston Rug Cleaning is not your place.
