He called me back the same day and then came out a few days later to look at my roof. He gave me several different options depending on how much I wanted to spend. I knew I wanted him to fix the cap shingles on the peak and he quoted his rate for that work over the phone before he came. He pointed out some areas of the roof to monitor but did not make a hard sell--he said if I wasn't seeing any leaks he didn't want to possibly make things worse. He came back when he promised, did the work quickly and cleaned everything up before he left. It took him a bit longer to do the repairs than he expected, but he didn't charge me any extra. He stuck with his original price. It looked good and I've had no problems.
