This past summer, we had a section of our roof replaced. The job was done quickly and cleanly with lots of communication and just plain old professionalism. -- At the same time, we had some work done on our laundry. This involved a vent pipe being run through the roof. -- This winter we had some leaking that looked like ice dams. We called Golden Group and they sent some people over. They quickly diagnosed the problem as something about the gasket around the new vent pipe (not ice dams, yay!). Towards the end of last year, I had several companies come out and quote for a full roof replacement. Golden Group gave me the best feeling about the job from the initial discussion. Where other contractors canceled appointments, arrived late, or were just no-shows - Mikel (out of their Hudson office) arrived on time and did a thorough assessment of the roof including taking drone footage. He sat with me and walked me through the whole process clearly, explaining all my choices in materials and didn't push any product or add-on. I did receive marginally cheaper quotes, but they did not leave me feeling like my home was in good hands in the same way that Mikel did, and I felt the extra money was likely to be worth it. Once I decided to go ahead with them, again, everything was done very professionally. I was kept informed of times and everybody showed up exactly when they said they would. I made a small change to the scope of the work in replacing additional plywood sections of the roof, and these were easily accommodated on short notice. On the day of the work, the crew showed up on time and Jurgan (the site foreman) kept everything moving with minimal disruption to us. I was working from home, and my wife and kids were in and out of the house for school and errands. Despite replacing the entire roof of the main building and two additions over approximately 9 hours, there was minimal disruption to our days. The house was protected during the work, and even with snow still on the ground, their cleanup crew constantly walked the property picking up and disposing of any debris, nails, old material etc. Ultimately the roof was replaced successfully and looks good. Every step of the job was explained to me, every question answered, and every decision explained. The team was professional, punctual and courteous throughout. GG wmployee had missed the first appointment apprarently having gotten soaked at a jobsite. After my yelp review, team was very remorseful about the missed appointment and sent me a $200 check and a DD gift card for the wated time. Impressed, I asked them back to assess our roof for solarinstallation. This time Freddy, a co-pwner of GG arrived on time. He looked at the rid and said that it was probably only ten years old and did not need any work. However, they would need to remove the shingles to install solar panel supports and reshingle the roof. He also indicated that the permitting was very slow in my town and that it might not get done in time to get the expiring rebate by year end. Keeping my fingers crossed. read more

Recently 2 of our tenants in a building in Wellesley had leakage issues. In deciding to explore the problem I read peoples' reviews on Facebook and wrote down the names of over 10 roofers in the area. Then I narrowed my selections by checking their Yelp reviews. I called 5 of them and waited for responses. A manager at Golden Group was the first to respond. I made an appointment with him on the following Saturday and by then 3 others had responded and met me on that day. Long story short: I chose Golden Group and am still pleased I did. They finished the job in 2 days with a large, industrious crew who were incredibly hardworking and did a wonderful job cleaning up. This company has a great reputation and I now understand why. A number of roofing contractors insisted that I needed a full replacement of my roof at a cost of between $8000-$20000. Golden Group came out and looked at it, asked about the age of the roof and any immediate problems, and diagnosed it as having several years of life left. They gave me free advice on how to best prolong the roof life. Rather than sell me a new roof which I may have proceeded with, this company had the honesty and integrity to tell me the truth. So far my wife and I have had a great experience working with Freddie and Greta and thier team. We just had our roof reshingled, along with new rake boards, soffits, and fascia boards. They quoted us a little lower than most and were totally professional and pleasant to deal with. We got some quotes that were way lower from other companies, but thier professionalism didnt hold a flame to Golden Group. Thier website and vehicles all have a cohesive theme, which in my mind tells me that they are attentive to details. They came to do our roof on a Friday after having the dumpster and materials delivered earlier in the week. They ran into a few problems with the trim (our house is old and people did shoddy work on it in the past) and so they got to the roof later than they thought. They ended up having to leave and come back on Saturday morning. They came early, but not too early to finish the job. They made sure to protect our landscaping and cleaned up all thier mess, and left us with a great looking roof. We were so pleased with thier work that we decided to have them come back and do more trim work and gutters. Freddie and Greta got back to us with a quote very fast. I knew I needed major roof work done and I was dreading it because I didn't know any good roofers, finding quality contractors is a shot in the dark, and having any kind of home repairs done in the time of Covid is stressful to say the least. No review I write up will do justice for how pleasant of an experience I had with Golden Group Construction. Both Freddy and Greta were amazing to work with. From the start they both addressed all my concerns and kept the line of communication open. I will be the first to say that I am very particular when hiring workers to do work for me. I might even go a bit overboard when it comes to vetting work to be done. My wife and I just had our roof redone, so that we could have solar panels put on, and during this process we had around eight quotes done. This may seem excessive, but anyone who has had a replacement roof done will tell you that the cost spectrum is quite large among competing firms. When choosing a contractor, I like to find a balance between price and value, which is essentially value. Golden Group Construction's value was unbeatable. The price was on the lower spectrum - compared to some very costly firms - but the quality of materials and craftsmanship was not compromised. They even went above and beyond on additions to the scope of work that was not initially agreed upon at no added cost. If you are looking for quality work, quality materials, and a very appealing price - then give Golden Group Construction a call. I would hire them again 10 out of 10 times. read more

We had a fantastic experience with Freddy and his crew. We had about 4 companies out for quotes last year and were very impressed with Freddy. He was not pushy at all, and was quite honest. He told us we could probably wait a year or two before replacing our old roof. The price quote was quite fair as well.
