I wrote a review a few years back and am updating because I hired them again. They replaced my entire roof this time and from beginning to end the process was smooth and professional. Not only is Ryan a really nice guy, he is super communicative and makes sure that everything happens as it's supposed to. I have an extensive garden with many vegetables and flowers and the crew did a marvelous job at protecting my plants and cleaning up. I have multiple crews working on various areas of my property and Ryan was the only one who came on time and did exactly what he said he'd do. I'll keep hiring and recommending them. Thanks for being good people and doing excellent work. read more

Three things make Dion and Certified Roofing stand out: communication, honesty and generosity Communication: Dion was readily accessible via phone, text or email. He explained every step of the process, answered all my questions about everything from protecting from water damming to whether brand matters when it comes to underlayment (it doesn't). He kept me posted on progress and even sent pictures as the job was underway Honesty: Dion set a price (which was the lowest I was quoted) and stuck to it. We had some confusion over gutter guards - Dion ended up installing high quality guards and didn't raise the price, despite the fact that they were not in the official quote. Generosity: In addition to the gutter guards, Dion threw in our shed roof as a bonus and even installed zinc to protect from moss growing in the future. Highly recommend Certified roofing for a job well done read more

I arranged an estimate as an out-of-state customer and had the work scheduled for when I was going to be in town. There was some weather conflict but they worked with us and still got the job done in the timeframe I needed. They were responsive by email and text. I would use them again ! read more

We are very satisfied with the new roof. Mr. Gaines came and inspected our roofing, which had some pieces missing and moss in some spots. It was an old roof for 17 years. He explained what and how he's going to improve the condition patiently and answered our questions thoroughly. The next day, when me and my family were out and about, we got a text from him saying that he had his crew came over and fixed the missing piece. There was a rain coming the next few days. We were surprised and really appreciated his concern. After we signed the contract, his crew came on time and very organized. The roof was done in 2 days, the roof is not small, since it is a cape and with a two car garage. They did it efficiently and so much better than the old one done 17 years ago! The crew cleaned up quite well afterwards. We could not be happier! On top of that, the price was fair too. I highly recommended. read more

Dion and team did an amazing job replacing our flat rubber roof in a short two days. This company is easy to work with, has competitive estimates, and does not take short cuts that would compromise quality. I would use them again and again. read more

Professional, detail oriented and fairly priced! I will refer all of my friends and family.

Ryan and the Certified Roofing team replaced our roof in Charlestown in July 2021. Two years later, we will have zero issues or leaks and are so pleased with the work! He had to tear of several layers of old roof, deal with confined city spaces, and a multi-level condo building with four chimney stacks and skylights. He was punctual, professional, highly skilled, and extremely knowledgable. His team replaced the room very quickly, and did a wonderful job cleaning up the work site. The price we paid was extremely reasonable. I would recommend this company without hesitation!!!!! read more

Our sunroom roof was in a really bad shape for a while and started leaking recently. We found Certified Roofing on Yelp, Ryan responded really fast. He and his buddy did a quick and fantastic job of fixing it before winter come. We don't have to worry about leaking. read more

I was so looking forward to working with this company because they got such great reviews. But I reached out to them in February through the form and included aerial photos of my roof and heard nothing back. I waited 3 weeks and reached out again - and silence. I wish they would have at least told me they are too busy to even give me an estimate or referred me to another trusted company. The silence is unprofessional. April 2022 - UPDATE. After I left this review, I was immediately contacted by the owner and he was both sincerely apologetic but also very kind in offering to make the situation right. I had to think about it - but in the end, asked for an inspection and estimate. He arrived on time for our appt., came ready to climb onto our very high steep roof, inspected the area thoroughly, made a video showing me what the problems were, and then came down and walked through what he found and what he would suggest as a longterm fix. He was friendly, professional, and impressive. I am now waiting for an estimate, but I am very grateful that I got past my stubbornness and asked for this inspection. I will update after I see the estimate. ty read more

Dion is the best you can get as roofer, very straight forward, no games and fair pricing. I like to deal with honest people and Dion is definitely one. If you're looking for good roofer, look no more. I recommend highly Dion and his team. read more

We had a bit of a rush looking for a roofer when we found a leak in our previous roof. Ryan John got back to me very quickly, personally took a look at my roof, and gave me ideas as to what materials to use. It was quick and easy. They did a great job and the contract/price was fair and clear. Now, I feel 100% confident in the roof over our heads. And Ryan has promised me he'll come do the next roof in 50 years. Definitely recommend. read more

We had an old roof, 2 layers; and the previous owners had installed a passive solar water heater themselves. The brackets of that installation were causing a leak. I had received a quote from certified roofing last year, but never got around to replacing the roof. This July it rained quite a bit and now our wall was wet too. I called them, as more storms were coming, signed the contact and they day after they came and removed both the layers and the solar contraption in one long day - as they were leaving it started to rain. This was early august. It's rained quite a bit since then; and we have no leaks anywhere. The crew was professional, and did a proper cleanup and haul away - when I had questions they answered them right away. Even though we got quotes from various other roofers last year - I'm glad I contact them this year and went with them. read more

Certified fixed the problems left by another roofing company. There was a leaking problem that replacing our roof didn't fix. The company which replaced our roof neglected to tell us or do anything about the rotting clapboards at the bottom of our chimneys or put in a water shield or new flashing. Certified Roofing put in the shield, flashing, and replaced the clapboards with cement non rotting clapboards and painted them. They were so responsive, we got an estimate the day after we met, and the problems were fixed a few days later! Very nice people, thanks Dion! Andrea K. Cambridge read more

ROBIN A. I am a business owner in Newton of The Four Walls Wallpaper & Design Studio. I help manage my families property. A few weeks ago one of our tenants called and said that there was a leak in their space. At first I thought it was the front window. But it was not. It was coming from the roof, which is slate and copper. Not too many roofers specialize in slate. My sister reached out to Dion the owner and I am so glad that she did! He called back right away, fixed the issue was honest and fair with his price, and took pictures to show me before and after. He said that if there is ever a need to come back don't worry! I was very impressed with his company and his employees. He is our" go to" for roofing work. read more

We had a two part experience with Izzy from Certified Roofing, both of which were great. First, we called a few companies, including Certified Roofing, to fix a leak in our roof. Izzy was the quickest to give a quote, quickest to do the work, and was the best price. Very professional too! Second, as Izzy started the work, he discovered that our roof had not been installed properly, which was the cause of the leak, and that we needed to redo the whole thing. Again, Izzy and Certified Roofing were the quickest to do the work, with the best price. Overall, they were responsive, communicative, honest, and professional, and the work was done very well. On top of that, we just had our gutters cleaned, which dropped a number of nails from the project on the ground that had been caught in the gutters. Izzy came right over to clean them up, so that our kids wont step on them. Great service! read more

We had a rough start with Dion over a year ago, but we talked it out and decided to have him come back and do some work. I'm really glad we did! Dion and crew did what they said they would do, did it well, and for a fair price. We even had some extra stuff with skylights that we needed checked out, and he did a great job tackling that issue and helping us decide how to correctly fix a 100 year old problem. We've got dogs and everyone did a great job dealing with them, took care of the house and we're ready to work with and left the place clean. I'm sure we'll do more work with these folks and really like knowing we've found a great roofing contractor to help us take care of a pretty special house. read more

Brent and the entire Certified Roofing team were amazing to work with! We had a leak from a light fixture and needed help figuring out the source. Brent came within 2 hrs, spent time walking around the house to inspect and came up with a couple hypothesis- all free of charge. Even though it wasn't a roofing problem, I wouldn't hesitate going with Certified Roofing for future jobs based off how professional and nice they were! read more

I don't normally leave reviews, but the world needs to know about Dion and his majestical crew at Certified Roofing. +A Black-Owned Business. +Dion is professional, punctual, responsive, and incredibly personable. (To the point where I was almost SAD when he told me our new roof is going to last 50 years. It's cool though, I realize we'll probably be able to call him for new siding before then.) +He was communicative throughout the process, even sending us a video of the crew applying the ice shield. (He's a roof nerd who genuinely loves his job and it shows.) +The work crew went above and beyond to ensure that our shrubs and blooming plants were protected from any falling debris during the removal of the old roof. +All workers were following standard COVID-19 safety guidelines. +I ended up having to contact Dion months later because my home insurance company was asking for certain paperwork and, as usual, he was super prompt and responsive in helping me with that. (How many contractors would be so ready to help in that type of situation, after already getting paid? Dion is a UNICORN. BLESS.) I've already recommended this company to several friends and neighbors, because I want them to be in good hands just like I was. read more

Great company, and we will go back to them for any future roofing needs. Responsive and communicative, they got back to me right away about a roof leak. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Our roof needed a ridge vent, new flashing around the chimneys, and a few slate tiles replaced. We searched around for a good company and were not impressed until we started talking with Dion. He was very fast at replying after we sent him a request on Yelp...with in minutes! Came out to our house with in a few days after to take a look at the roof and started work the next day! Dion is professional and takes pride in his work. Very reliable, honest and social. Took time to explain everything our roof needed and what he and his team planned to do. Dion along with his team did an epic job. We could not be happier. His entire staff was friendly and finished the job in one day! They even did a great job cleaning up before they left. Down the road if we ever need work done on our roof we will be calling Dion and his team for the job. If anyone asks us for a good roofing company we will always tell them about our experience with Certified Roofing. Again HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for any roof work!! Great job!!!!! read more

I hired Certified Roofing to put a rubber membrane on the concrete roof of my garage. Dion and his crew showed up on time and did a great job. From the ground level, the only evidence that anything's different is a white metal rim, but the roof is now waterproofed with a 10 year leak-free guarantee. Pretty sweet. They finished on time, and also cleaned up afterwards. I'll add a shout-out for Dion, who is a pleasure to do business with; he's a super nice guy. If I had other roofing projects, I would definitely hire Certified Roofing again. read more

Brent was great to work with! Very polite and communicative about finding the right solution for the minor roof and gutter issues we were having, while also sensitive to working on a budget, so was able to send a revised estimate for an adjusted plan of work on request. Other contractors have ghosted us in the past when we asked for a revised estimate, but Certified Roofing followed through and completed the work on schedule. We are very happy with the results and feel much better prepared for winter. read more

First off, finding anyone willing to go on your roof for less than 4K (when it is slate) is a feat! Everyone else who works with slate will give you a long sob story about how difficult it is to work with. And then even if they do come out and give a crazy high quote... Then try to get anyone to return a call or text to actually set up the job? But Certified roofing was great! I had 1 piece of slate blow off in a storm. Everyone else I called wanted to charge me at least $2,000 just to replace a piece. One place wanted to charge $4,300 and said that there were "other broken pieces too" (there weren't and this is a huge major company in the Boston area). Certified roofing was a fraction of this price and they did a great job and were easy to communicate with. If you've interacted with a few contractors then you know that communication is the biggest thing and the hardest to find too! Great job, will be using them for all my roofing needs in the future! read more
