Not only is Ryan a really nice guy, he is super communicative and makes sure that everything happens as it's supposed to. I have an extensive garden with many vegetables and flowers and the crew did a marvelous job at protecting my plants and cleaning up. We are very satisfied with the new roof. Mr. Gaines came and inspected our roofing, which had some pieces missing and moss in some spots. It was an old roof for 17 years. He explained what and how he's going to improve the condition patiently and answered our questions thoroughly. The next day, when me and my family were out and about, we got a text from him saying that he had his crew came over and fixed the missing piece. There was a rain coming the next few days. We were surprised and really appreciated his concern. After we signed the contract, his crew came on time and very organized. The roof was done in 2 days, the roof is not small, since it is a cape and with a two car garage. They did it efficiently and so much better than the old one done 17 years ago! But I reached out to them in February through the form and included aerial photos of my roof and heard nothing back. I waited 3 weeks and reached out again - and silence. After I left this review, I was immediately contacted by the owner and he was both sincerely apologetic but also very kind in offering to make the situation right. I had to think about it - but in the end, asked for an inspection and estimate. He arrived on time for our appt., came ready to climb onto our very high steep roof, inspected the area thoroughly, made a video showing me what the problems were, and then came down and walked through what he found and what he would suggest as a longterm fix. We had an old roof, 2 layers; and the previous owners had installed a passive solar water heater themselves. The brackets of that installation were causing a leak. I had received a quote from certified roofing last year, but never got around to replacing the roof. This July it rained quite a bit and now our wall was wet too. I called them, as more storms were coming, signed the contact and they day after they came and removed both the layers and the solar contraption in one long day - as they were leaving it started to rain. This was early august. It's rained quite a bit since then; and we have no leaks anywhere. Certified fixed the problems left by another roofing company. There was a leaking problem that replacing our roof didn't fix. The company which replaced our roof neglected to tell us or do anything about the rotting clapboards at the bottom of our chimneys or put in a water shield or new flashing. Certified Roofing put in the shield, flashing, and replaced the clapboards with cement non rotting clapboards and painted them. I hired Certified Roofing to put a rubber membrane on the concrete roof of my garage. Dion and his crew showed up on time and did a great job. From the ground level, the only evidence that anything's different is a white metal rim, but the roof is now waterproofed with a 10 year leak-free guarantee. Pretty sweet. First off, finding anyone willing to go on your roof for less than 4K (when it is slate) is a feat! Everyone else who works with slate will give you a long sob story about how difficult it is to work with. And then even if they do come out and give a crazy high quote... Then try to get anyone to return a call or text to actually set up the job? But Certified roofing was great! I had 1 piece of slate blow off in a storm. Everyone else I called wanted to charge me at least $2,000 just to replace a piece. One place wanted to charge $4,300 and said that there were "other broken pieces too" (there weren't and this is a huge major company in the Boston area). Certified roofing was a fraction of this price and they did a great job and were easy to communicate with. If you've interacted with a few contractors then you know that communication is the biggest thing and the hardest to find too!
