Willard Roofing did our roof years ago and it's still in incredible shape. The owner is super responsive and caring and goes out of his way to help with solutions, making sure the job is well done even if your house is old (ours is pushing 200!) and nothing is square. Never received a call back. I inquired through Yelp and had a quick reply directing me to call the office. I called and got the answering service. I explained my issue to the answering service and also noted that while it wasn't an emergency, it was urgent as I had roof damage that might get worse in any upcoming rain. The answering service representative was helpful and friendly. That was the end of my interaction. I have not received any call or email or Yelp message from the company since then. It's been almost two weeks. It doesn't matter to me now since during this time I had another company come do the repair and quote a roof replacement all within a couple days (including during an extreme heat wave). It sounds like this business is a legacy family business that people are happy with, so I hope they will take this experience to heart and improve their responsiveness when potential customers are trying to mitigate property damage. read more

We had our roof shingles replaced by Willard last month. The whole experience of dealing with them was excellent from start to finish. I'm so glad we went with them! James came out to do an evaluation, recommended some options to consider, and was completely frank and very helpful. The quote was promptly emailed to me, was very detailed and informative - and the price was extremely reasonable and fair. Once we decided to go ahead with the replacement, they put us on their schedule, and as they predicted, our job started in three weeks. The team was professional, started early on a Monday morning, worked super hard, and they were mostly done by evening. They finished up the next morning, cleaned up thoroughly, and left three boxes of shingles for free for an upcoming sunroom project. The supervisor Alex was very pleasant and answered all my questions. Across the whole project, Melanie in the office was super helpful, prompt, and communicative. I didn't even have to pay anything until the project was done. I wish all our home projects were as smooth, stress free and hands off as this one was! The only reason I am rating a one star was our initial visit on June 11 was pleasant. But it is apparent the commitment appears not to be there. He promised us an estimate on June 11th for the following Friday. It never appeared. We called the office, we sent texts and still nothing. He finally answered and said it would be mailed last Monday yet here we are on Saturday still waiting. We shouldn't need to chase down estimates that were promised if the representative was truly interested. If this is an example of their service, we will decline. read more

My daughter and her husband recommended Willard so we decided to hire them. Their price was reasonable. We hired them during the winter and they did replace our roof before the rain storm came. They finished the job in 2 1/2 days with excellent clean-up and removed all of the debris that came down from the gutters. The crew was friendly and worked hard. i can't beleve how cold it was for them and they did not stop. I did give them coffee and donuts on the last day to celebrate. They took only a quick break and went back to working. They made sure that everything was clean when they left. The payments went smoothly too and the owner and his staff were very friendly. I contacted Willard about fixing an issue with my gutter - the pitch of the gutter was off and several of the gutter seams were leaking. My entire experience with Willard was great. Willard has a front desk staff that receives all calls, which is much better than trying to get in touch with someone and leaving voicemails back and forth with a field tech. Also, both Shannon and Melanie were very pleasant and prompt in returning phone calls and getting answers to specific questions. Danny came out to my house for the initial quote. He was on-time and professional. There were a few other sections of gutter where I wasn't sure if it needed to be replaced - he took a look and said they were dirty, but completely functional, and suggested that I could get a few more years out of them. I appreciated his honest perspective, where he could have somewhat easily upsold me to do work that wasn't required. John actually performed the work. Again, he was on-time and completed all the work as described. Additionally, after installing the new gutters, there was a backup in one of the downspouts, and he spent 30 minutes clearing the blockage without charging anything additional. Again, I was very happy with the entire experience. Working with contractors can often be a headache - not the case with Willard. I highly recommend them and will be using them for other types of work going forward. read more

This review is for Parker Jr. I had a stressful time during a home inspection with no time to get another specialist to look at the roof. I contacted the Willard Company at 9pm, Parker got back to me within 20 minutes. He followed up with a call early in the morning and offered to give me advice through the phone after looking at some pictures without charging me because he did not want me to lose my dream home. How can I say thank you to Mr. Parker, I do not know but at least, I can try. I dealt with many professionals before and Parker Jr. is one of the best, if not the absolute best, experiences I have ever had. I would recommend him a thousand times and I will, without a doubt, hire him in the future whenever I need to. If you ever read this, THANK YOU SO MUCH again for ALL your help. Do not waste your time. Willard gets decent local reviews and referrals from a senior group - but that was unsupported when they could not provide me a revised quote for roof/chimney flashing repair. Lots of "I'll get back to you" and "yes, we do small jobs." I understand most contractors will not say "no" to any job - I give more credit to a company that has the guts to say "we're busy right now." Willard is phenomenal. I called them to get an estimate for a new roof and gutters for my house. Dan came out the very next day to take a look. The following day I received an email with an incredibly detailed estimate, including pricing for contingent activities that might need to be done (like new decking under the shingles). I later received a printed copy of the proposal. I spent the next several weeks just trying to get additional quotes to see how competitive Willard's pricing was. I called a number of roofers. One didn't call back. Another came and inspected but never got around to sending me a quote (despite my asking several times for it). I had to nag a third for 2 weeks before they sent me the quote. In the end I had alternative quotes. The other two were hand-written and light on details. The pricing of all three quotes was the same. Some were more expensive on the gutters, some more on the roof, but the total quotes were the same. So I went with Willard. Once I signed the proposal they started within a week! They finished the job in just 2 days including the gutters and new decking. Dan was phenomenally communicative and even sent me pictures during the day. They did a great job cleaning up after themselves too. They were also kind enough to come back later to take my downspouts off to make life easier on my painters and then came back to put them back on. read more

I used Willard and Co to redo the roofing and gutters on my 100 year old house. I read the prior complaint here on yelp and my guess is it's because they're a busy company. It's possible you may need to call them back a second time during peak periods during the whole process (I did), but they WILL get back to you. It's a family owned and operated company and they dont use subs. If a contractor is waiting around for the phone to ring in this real estate market in the Summer/Fall - something is wrong. Anyway, from the start they did a phenomenal job and were very professional. I got an upfront packet showing the estimate, roofing felt and materials used, shingles options for me to pick from, etc. The crews that came worked like dogs, nonstop from dawn until dusk, and each night cleaned up my yard. Roof and gutters came out great, my neighbors have all been complimenting me and asking where I found these guys. Now on price, they werent and wont be the lowest price I dont think. They dont cut corners like a lot of contractors will. If you've gone that route and tried to get a deal, you'll know it isn't worth the money, time, or aggravation in the end. Especially not with a roof. They are licensed, insured (copies of that were also sent to me). It's a professional, safe bet to use Willard. read more

George C. Willard Company was the only ones to answer my phone this past winter (2015) to remove snow for my roof. They are up front with their pricing and costs. I needed my roof cleared and the ice dams minimized. Willard Co was very accommodating and had a reasonable timeframe. They even waited for a storm to pass and then come so I would not pay to remove snow and then have more to remove. Their staff is professional and explained all the charges up front. The staff was honest and got the work done fast! Just by simply picking up the phone, they got my business now and for the future. read more

All have been knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I have had two separate projects done, new gutters and new doors.
