Where other contractors canceled appointments, arrived late, or were just no-shows - Mikel (out of their Hudson office) arrived on time and did a thorough assessment of the roof including taking drone footage. He sat with me and walked me through the whole process clearly, explaining all my choices in materials and didn't push any product or add-on. I did receive marginally cheaper quotes, but they did not leave me feeling like my home was in good hands in the same way that Mikel did, and I felt the extra money was likely to be worth it. Once I decided to go ahead with them, again, everything was done very professionally. I was kept informed of times and everybody showed up exactly when they said they would. I made a small change to the scope of the work in replacing additional plywood sections of the roof, and these were easily accommodated on short notice. On the day of the work, the crew showed up on time and Jurgan (the site foreman) kept everything moving with minimal disruption to us. I was working from home, and my wife and kids were in and out of the house for school and errands. Despite replacing the entire roof of the main building and two additions over approximately 9 hours, there was minimal disruption to our days. The house was protected during the work, and even with snow still on the ground, their cleanup crew constantly walked the property picking up and disposing of any debris, nails, old material etc. Ultimately the roof was replaced successfully and looks good. Every step of the job was explained to me, every question answered, and every decision explained. The team was professional, punctual and courteous throughout. A couple of weeks in and we've had snow, rain and strong winds. Everything is still perfect. I can highly recommend Mikel and Jurgan from Golden Group, Hudson.

They had done such a great job replacing our roof several years ago, I did not think of calling anyone else. In spite of the weather, the roof was repaired in February. A great job performed by skilled craftsmen. Last week, Jennifer called to ask if it was OK for Don and Gary to come by this past Monday at 8AM to replace the siding. They arrived about 30 minutes early, and by 1 PM, the site was cleaned and cleared and they were gone. It was as though the windstorm had never happened. I cannot express how impressed I am with Robert, Jennifer and everyone I have met from Eyles. BTW, though I sent the Insurance adjuster's paperwork with my request, Robert sent a quote that was below the adjuster's estimate. I am so impressed by my experience with Eyles, that as soon as I receive and invoice, I drive to the office to pay it. I want to make sure that they are in business in the future if I need them.

The person who came up stated they saw where the leak was and would be able to come up at some point during the week to do the work. After not hearing back from them in two days, I reached back out with no response 6 times. All the while, water was coming into my house and causing damage. The inability of a business to keep their commitments and customer schedules is usually an indication that customer service is not their priority. It seems others have had more positive experiences with Royal Roofing, but unfortunately they did not have enough respect for this prospective customer to follow up.

They then insisted that I replace the slate portion of my roof with shingles (which wasn't leaking). I said no at first but agreed once they offered me a "deal" as they were slow on work. I was told it would be a 2-day job. After day one my tenant on the top floor had water in her apartment. I figured it was an honest mistake and the job would be completed the next day as it was only a "2-day job." By the third week, my tenant had five buckets going to catch all the water that was coming into her apartment. Five Star Roofing was paid in full and had abandoned the job. John Arsenault, who I was dealing with, became increasingly hard to reach during this 3-week ordeal. He said several times, "My guys are headed over there now." And, "they'll be there first thing in the morning to finish up." I eventually had to call from a different number for him to pick up. The best excuse I heard one rainy Sunday was, "I can't get anyone over there. It's Sunday. What do you expect?" What do I expect? I expect a "2-day job" not to stretch into 3 weeks. I expect my roof to be properly tarped off when exposed. Five Star Roofing could moonlight as a water mitigation specialist and really clean up. After 3 weeks of stress, frustration, and a leaking apartment, I had to call in a legitimate roofing company at twice the price to rip out everything Five Star did and fix the issue. It was done in a day. I sued Five Star Roofing and only under threat of arrest did John Arsenault show up to court. He lost and--surprise--doesn't have the means to pay me. How convenient! The incompetence of Five Star Roofing would make the Three Stooges blush. Even out of 100 stars, this company wouldn't live up to its name. Avoid Five Star Roofing and save yourself a nightmare.

They introduced themselves and then they got to work. Dawson, Brandon and Travis were knowledgeable about the 'how' these windows work. I say this because the place I live the windows are 20 years old. My front door in particular has the storms on them that slide up and down. Dawson and Travis worked together tediously getting the storms in and out. They have done these types of storms before, but these being an older style they have not had experience with. The important trait here is they didn't give up. . My sills were extremely dirty. In some areas the pollen and dirt were caked on. They were very particular in making sure they cleaned it all out. My screens were taken off and hosed down. They were finished all windows and doors in less than 3 hours. I paid them and they each shook my hand saying it was a pleasure to meet me. Being older it is so nice to have individuals work in my home who are genuinely enthusiastic about their job and very polite. I thank Dawson, Brandon and Travis as I can see the true beauty the outside has to offer.
