He could not get into my inverter because the original solar system installers never left me the inverter password. Lucien was relentless in his endeavors to contact SMA and get the passcode he needed to troubleshoot my inverter. He also updated my system and reconnected it to my home WiFi. Finding someone to install a solar system is easy but finding service for your system after install is not easy. I recommend Off Grid Solutions for all your solar system needs.

Very easy to do business with. I spoke to Andrew , the mini-split manager, who organized every detail for us. Our installer was Max. Max did a fantastic job. Max is detailed oriented and meticulous in his manner of installation. Other companies wanted to install the compressor the easy way and set the compressor in a cart on the ground. I didn't want that. Max fastened my compressor to the house foundation on a stainless steel bracket off the ground. I am an auto mechanic by trade and can really appreciate the finished look of a quality installation. I would highly recommend Northeast Solar to anyone that is considering mini-splits. Bob T.

I appreciated Justin's transparency regarding the time crunch, and the generous 10% discount he offered if the work couldn't be completed in time. As it turned out, the crew had everything installed and interconnected by early November. From permitting to working with the credit union to the final switch flip, they were calm, professional, and efficient. We were well informed every step of the way, and the installation process itself was remarkably chill in terms of commotion and time. Northeast Solar also installed my in-laws system several years ago, and we've all been very pleased with their work.

We were so happy when the inspector told us what a fantastic job the contactor did with the total construction and the care they had taken with the foundation work and electrical - both items that shortcuts can often be made. We love the work they did on a very old house to make it look new again but retain character. It really surprised me that the owner himself responded to me quickly when I had emailed questions about the heating and cooling system so that I could get in touch with other vendors; this felt above and beyond. I highly recommend Obear Construction!

He sent me a reassuring response that they shouldn't be a problem. On his word, I let the install go forward as scheduled. Then, Bob told me he would not work on my dormers because of the solar panels; that he is "not responsible for any work done after the contract was signed." I pointed to his email of 3 months earlier starting that it would be ok. He said that he hadn't known where precisely the panels were to be installed. In my view, first told me one thing, then when that information was no longer convenient for him, he told me something else. For that reason, I fired him. I wish I had had a better understanding of Obear's character before I hired him.

I talked to absolutely every one about a solar panel installation. I easily spent months on…read moreresearching the topic, vendors, and installation techniques. Ultimately I settled on on a mechanically mounted system for my flat roof, which was wonderful. Some vendors would not touch a flat roof. Some only installed ballasted systems. Some vendors assumed that they could use a lift to get onto my roof when they actually needed a crane. Some just wanted to overcharge me with the hot new technology, sweeping the nation. After reviewing multiple bids, I settled on Sunbug to install my system. Chris Miller was a no nonsense saleman throughout my whole research phase. He answered all of my questions, and disabused me of any misinformation I may have had. He was polite, but firm, which is exactly what a layman consumer needs when making a large, delayed gratification purchase like a solar system. Once I signed on the dotted line, their team actually moved fairly quickly through the rest of the process. We were able to install my system before the end of the tax year, so some of that delayed gratification is delayed just a little less. I would give a five star review, but there were a few hiccups. Once I signed the dotted line, the team was less responsive than I needed with my subsequent questions. They installed the inverter in my basement without my input, which is a problem when I plan to finish my basement. We quickly fixed that by simply moving it, but we could have avoided that problem altogether by filling me in on the plan first. I chalk that up to some disorganization, and rushing to complete systems before the end of the tax year. Another silly issue is that their electrician upgraded me to a 200A panel, which is wonderful. For some reason though he reinstalled the same 100A main breaker I originally had, which makes no sense. Now I have to pay some one else to upgrade my main breaker. A month later I am actually still waiting for an inspector to check off on their work so that I can turn the system on, but that may be more an issue with the inspector than with Sunbug. In any event, I am mostly pleased with my purchase, and look forward to bathing my roof in sun shine in the coming years.
