As many of the other reviews indicated, SERVICE is what Nevada Vacuum offers above and beyond anything else.
Just moved from So Cal and my beloved Dyson decided to go kaplooey 3 days before we moved. After cleaning the thing, checking all the hoses, cleaning out the brush roller, and getting tons of dust up my nose it still wouldn't work. I had it serviced in So Cal 2 years ago and needless to say was VERY disappointed that it wasn't working. I didn't think in a million years that there would be a Dyson Certified repair place in the Reno area. Lo and behold Dyson told me to take my vacuum to Nevada Vacuum.
Believe me I do my research whenever I buy anything and buying the Dyson was no exception. The mistake I made was researching the "known" national brands. I made my decision and found the best price at a local Sears (next big mistake as the kid knew basically nothing about vacuums--no offense to the kid, but what does a 20-something male know about vacuums?).
Fast-forward to Black Friday 2015 to when my husband and I decided to take our Dyson to Nevada Vacuum. The gents took a look at the Dyson and said they could fix it for about $200. (Insert "Oh Brother" face here). So we did ask about the vacuums they sold and compared the difference between the Dyson and the Riccar brand they mainly sold. Mind you I didn't do ANY research at all...I was relying upon a "salesman" which makes me nervous. But Michael really compared the 2 for me from the light on the Riccar to how the accessories work to the metal brush roller (can't remember the last time I had a vacuum that had either of those features!!). Needless to say we purchased a Riccar Vibrance upright as well as a Butler hand vac. He also gave me a discount for trading in the Dyson. I was pleasantly surprised at the original price of the Riccar, but Michael wasn't finished. He showed us the extra hose and accessories kit for reaching cathedral ceilings (which our new home has) and dusting those terrific--but hard to reach--recessed lights. Then he offered a discount for the hose kit! He then offered us some excellent microfiber cloths which work miracles on some stains I thought would never come out!! Then if all of that wasn't good enough a delightful white dog strolled out of the back and demanded to be petted, which I was MOST happy to comply. Sugar is a sweet, little white dog who loves to have her belly rubbed!
A couple of other things that need to be mentioned about Nevada Vacuum. The company went through the expense and red tape to get Riccar to make a vacuum in UNR blue with the Nevada Wolfpack logo on the front. That shows--at least to me--that they have a true vested interest in the community. Secondly, Michael devotes a lot of his time to a sanctuary for cats who suffer from feline leukemia (quite a nice way to give back).
How do I like my vacuums? The light is THE best thing since sliced bread! It's not an itty bitty light that shines on the front of the machine. This thing lights in front of the vacuum path and beyond the sides! The other thing that impresses me is how quiet it is! I can actually hear my husband talk over the machine without having him shout! It's a little heavy (it isn't all plastic!!) but very maneuverable. The hand-held is amazing! It includes everything you could possibly need to vacuum just about anything (including hoses and adapters and accessories for computer and electronics cleaning) and it works very well!
Thank you Michael, your associate whose name I didn't get (and I'm SO sorry if he felt I gave him a dirty look--trust me it was my frustration), and of course Sugar for all of your time, answering my litany of questions, and showing me that customer service isn't dead!
With warmest regards,
