Went there to try and buy a used frig and Sidd was horrrible rude. The back area was filthy. Dirty Refrigerators just thrown around in the room. Sidd not only refused to work with me on picking the right one for me but kept telling me that I wasn't worth his time, to work with me and flat out told me that he couldn't make enough money off of me to make it worth his time. Sidd also refused to come and take a look at the broken one in my house, even when I texted and called him twice. Sidd again said that he figured the frig was too broken and too buy a new one without even looking at my frig Obviously all the reviews on his page are fake! This is the appliance repair company that came to fix my dryer when I called "Professional Appliance Repair in Reno". The rubber gasket on the inside of the dryer door came out when I was trying to clean it. I tried to replace it myself, but could not get the gasket back in. So I called what I thought was a local business to set up a appointment. Mr. Siddiqui, the owner of "Sidds Home Aplliance", showed up at the arranged time and was professional and completed the job to my satisfaction. He also showed me how to fix it myself if it should ever happen again. He also explained why it happened and what I can do to make sure it doesn't happen again. He also explained that I could save myself the $79 service charge next time by calling him directly if I need another repair. I will definitely consider using this business again. read more

This review is for the home appliance part of the business. There's also a car shop run by the same guy in the parking lot next door, but I don't have any experience with that. The dryer in my tenant's house had finally broken down, so I bought an apartment size dryer (Whirlpool, 240 volt) from Sidd Home Appliance. The owner assured me it was fine and even plugged it in for me, and while I did not test it out with actual clothes before I bought it, it did feel warm inside the drum after he ran it so I thought it worked. I paid him $220, $200 for the dryer itself and $20 for him to deliver and install it. He brought it in and I found that it would need a bit of ductwork, as the vent didn't match up to the wall opening. No problem, my bad, I should've checked for that. He began removing the old, broken dryer, and since he already had it on the hand truck I asked if he could roll it 20 feet from the door to the garage... nope, he just dumped it on the lawn, gave me my receipt, and left. I was a little annoyed, but I had my own hand cart, so I just put it in the garage myself. I called a repairman to vent the dryer for me. He told me -- surprise! -- he couldn't fit the ductwork on the dryer because it was missing a piece on the back where the vent goes. There is supposed to be a small, fluted piece of metal there so you can attach either a flexible duct or a rigid tube to vent the dryer. And that wasn't all. The dryer was also missing the two front legs, which the repairman said would make it wobble back and forth while it was running. Then, as he was turning it on to test the ductwork he taped on, the knob fell right off. It wasn't even the right knob for this dryer, he told me. Well, fine. I'd been had. But really, how much could a couple odds and ends cost? Turns out, more than what I actually paid for the dryer, because it was quite a few years older than the guy at Sidd Home Appliance told me it was, and they don't make the parts anymore. At this point, I just told the repairman to go ahead and vent it, and at least my tenant would be able to dry her clothes until I could go out and find a new dryer (a real new one this time). Turns out, this thing couldn't even do that. Apparently it took upwards of three hours to dry anything, and my tenant ended up just putting her clothes on a rack to dry them. I called the owner of Sidd Home Appliance, and he ended up taking the dryer back and refunding me completely, even the delivery fee. I give him two stars for that. However, that doesn't erase the fact that he lied and sold me a dryer that was missing several parts and didn't work. I would not recommend buying anything from this guy; just go to a big box store for your appliance needs. read more

After dealing with another appliance repair company that couldn't repair my refrigerator and then failed to return to try again, I called Sidd's. Over the phone he gave a very quick and correct diagnosis and suggested temporary fixes while he ordered parts. He ordered the parts without asking for a credit card, came to my home as promised, and literally took the refrigerator apart after discovering the first company didn't work on the right part. He found the problem (an internal fan), got it working and double checked with an area parts supplier to be sure there was a part if his fix didn't work. It did work, Sid was fast, knew what he was doing and charged a very reasonable price for his labor (no parts required). He is the man to call for appliance repair! read more

It has been a total nightmare this whole week with our dryer staring to beep at 2am last Sunday morning and waking me and my husband up. We couldn't make it stop. Had to finally unplug it the next morning. It was a GE model they don't make anymore after talking to the GE person. I already went online with people who have had this problem before and they said all you have to do is replace the control panel. Nobody i contacted online and on the phone even GE said we would have to go to a major chain store and order a model like it. Since I just had eye surgery, my husband went to three different places after Lake appliance repair which we scheduled on Wednesday from 8 to 12 would be here and by 12 called and oh we are so sorry but our technician had a family emergency and we will have to reschedule. At this point which I am supposeT to take it easy because my surgery I was not a happy camper either was my husband. Well Lake called me back and said they did find another tech that would come by between 2 and 4 pm and would call before he showed up. He did call right around three thirty and said he would be there in about 45 minutes. He did show up and took his sweet time coming to the front door because he was on his phone. Randy was a nice person, but he had no idea what to do. Tried to get GE on the phone but they were closed. Tried calling his buddies but they had no idea what to do either. He told us to go to RC Willeys and buy a Speed Queen they are the best well since Speed Queen doesn't make space saver models oh well. Went back online for another day to try and find something that would fit in the space it is a model that when my husband finally went to Lowe's and bought the model that would fit brought it home and guess what it was the wrong model. He had to take it back. We are not young people and is has been a strain on us. Robby was so frustrated today he put the dryer in the back of his truck to see if anybody could replace it. Thank God he had already went to see Sidd the day before and Sidd told him oh I have the control panel just leave it here and I will have it done in two hours and guess what Sidd called my husband Robby in two hours went to pick it up and it only cost us 200.00 and Robby installed it and so far so good and it is warrantied for 30days. Excuse me for saying this , but screw those jerks that just want to make their commission and don't care about people. It is so sad how all people think about is the mighty dollar. I would recommend Sidd to anybody at anytime. thank you Sidd. Oh and even though it was a Kenmore control panel he knew how to do it. Believe in the small business people because they will take care of you it is their livelihood. read more

I really changed my mind on this company. I got a dishwasher from them after my total fiasco with RC Wiley thinking I would get a better dishwasher. Well no not really! I just cant win in the dishwasher appliance department. I cant use pods in the washer no compartment for them. You must thourghly rinse all the dishes before putting in washer even with doing that after the rinse cycle you will get a dish with a greasy film on it. So now I have to hand wash. We will eventually upgrade to brand new appliances from a better reputable dealer, because Sidds im done with as well as RC Wiley. read more

I've been doing business with Mr. Siddiqui (I call him Sid) for three years. I first bought a washer/dryer combination from him while living in Reno three years ago. We (my wife and I) dealt with him a couple more times after that before moving to Carson City. After our move we decided to upgrade our washer and dryer, and because Sid had proven to us time and again to be a fair and honest professional, a man of his word, a man we could trust without question to treat us fairly and honor his warranty (which he promptly did a couple of times), we, of course bought our machines from him. He delivered our washer/dryer to us in Carson City and hooked them up and had 'em running in a flash. I give him 5 stars simply because he earned them. Short story. Fridge goes on the fritz; not pumping cold air. After a very negative experience with Sears Home Warranty service, I called a number on Monday that led me to Sidd. He asked if Monday was OK. Yes. Is 1-3 window OK? Yes. Showed up on time. Found problem quickly (a bad switch that tells compressor to turn on). Fixed the switch quickly. Reasonable price. Definitely will call Sidd again if need arises. read more
