The on/off switch on my Hoover upright went out and I almost decided on throwing it out because it is about 7 years old, but I decided to at least try and see if it can be fixed first. I looked up this business and gave them a call in the morning. Bill answered and said that my problem sounds like something he could fix. I ran it over that afternoon, fully expecting to have to drop it off and pick up later. When I got there, Bill told me to follow him to the back where he put my vacuum on a work bench and went to work changing the switch. Turns out he had several new replacements and was able to get it switched out for me in just about 15 minutes! After testing it a couple of times, I paid him a very reasonable fee of $20 and was out the door and ready to start my weekend! Give this business a chance before tossing out your old equipment. Might end up saving you a few $$. I'm going to recommend this place to everyone I know. read more

I recently took my commercial vacuum in for servicing because it wasn't picking up very well. I couldn't believe the difference! Awesome place! Took my Bissell vacuum in (~3 years old, a model they no longer made) that I love because the height adjuster knob was no longer adjusting the height for different surfaces. I didn't want to toss the vacuum and get a new one because it has been a stellar appliance prior to this, so I found Legendary on Yelp. I walked in at noon on a Wednesday to drop it off and by 1pm, the owner called me to tell me he had fixed it! The belt was stretched out - he replaced it and only charged me $10. A+++ Fantastic service, so kind, so knowledgeable!! There just aren't businesses like this anymore where the owner invites you in and is just so personable, honest, and helpful! Half an hour ago we were at Nevada vacuum...He took it apart, told us the engine was broken and that it would be $200 to fix and then promptly tried to sell us a $600 vacuum. I knew something wasn't right! We called a friend who said bill at Legendary Vacuum is the guy to go to! We are so glad that we did. He took much more time with us and was able to carefully take apart the vacuum while we waited. He found that there was a nail that was stuck inside the vacuum. It didn't need a new motor after all! We got the right diagnosis for a fraction of the cost and our Oreck is up and running again perfectly!! What an ABSOLUTE pleasure to do business here. We have an expensive vacuum that broke and needed some minor repair. Wanted to have it fixed instead of buying a new one. Called up Legendary and had a very nice conversation about the issue and if they could fix it. They said they could so I took it down. It took a week to get the part but they were able to fix it for less than $70 which was great. I had a great experience working with them from over the phone to in store. I will use them again if I have any other issues! They also sell professional vacuums so if your in the market stop by and check them out. read more

This is one of the best customer service experiences I've had anywhere. First of all, when you enter the shop it is clean and well organized. They have a number of used vacuums that are displayed neatly. There are some really good deals there, both homeowner and commercial grade models. If you're considering a used vacuum it's well worth taking a look at that. Our vacuum was spewing out dirt when we used it. We brought it up to the counter and described the problem and Bill said it was probably clogged and that he should be able to fix that. He also mentioned that it's important to do regular maintenance on the vacuum and I asked him what that would be. He must have had a little time in his schedule that day because he brought me and my husband into the back where he works and took it apart and showed me the parts I could soak in warm water and soap and clean out periodically. I know this will extend the life of my machine and let me get better use of it over time. We had mentioned to him that we had come to Reno from Lake Tahoe and would have to come back on another day. Surprise of surprises! He called us just a little later in the afternoon and told us the vacuum was ready. It was so considerate of him to save us a second trip to come back and pick it up. In addition to fixing the problem, he had gone over the vacuum thoroughly, cleaned everything, and replaced a belt. It's like a new machine. His price was more than fair. I love supporting a business like this where the owners do great work, treat people really well, and provide a great service. And in general, repairing a vacuum rather than throwing it away and getting a new one makes so much sense ecologically. It made my day to find Legendary Vacuum! They far exceeded my expectations. I took my Dyson to Legendary after receiving quotes from A-1 and Nevada Vacuum to replace the Clutch/Belts and was surprised to find that the total charge was 35% less than either of the other quotes AND a free Cleaning and Sanitization was included at no additional cost! Not only was the price of the repair much cheaper, the vacuum was also ready 3 days before the scheduled completion date and it was spotless! It's almost like a new vacuum again! I am one happy camper and I didn't get the high pressure sales pitch to replace the Dyson with a new expensive vacuum which occurred at both of the other shops! read more
