This company was assigned to my appliance service request by my home warranty company. They showed up and diagnosed the appliance stating that it needed new parts that had to be ordered from the manufacturer. I never heard back from the company except when I called them about three weeks after. I did get a return phone call with a message stating that the warranty company denied my service request repair with no other information. I called them back for the simple purpose of getting more information. I have now left at least five voicemails to request a call back and have been completely ignored even after offering to pay for the repair myself and to request an estimate for that repair. However, I have received absolutely no response. I recommend looking elsewhere for your appliance service needs. read more

Had a puddle of water under the washer, assumed it was a leak in the washer, called, and they were out the same day (July 5). The tech was promp; they said between 2-4 and he was here right before 2 (before me!) He diagnosed, and said good new, bad news. Good news it's not the washer, bad news, it's the water heater. He even talked to my landlord. Cost $65 for the service fee. $1400 for the water heater. read more

Disappointing. I called to ask for an estimate - a ball park - to repair a broken belt on a Samsung dryer. The business said "we don't provide ball parks or estimates." I can understand that response if I had asked for something much more concrete e.g. what's the exact cost, but a ball park is absolutely reasonable to request. I realize I've only been in Reno for one year, but in the Bay Area, getting an estimate was the absolute minimum a repair business would provide. read more

We returned home on a Tuesday evening following being away for 3 weeks to find our freezer drawer solidly stuck shut. This is a KitchenAid refrigerator/freezer with bottom, pull-out freezer drawer. First thing the next morning I began making calls for service. Left messages with two businesses (Appliance Repair Guy and Little City Appliance Repair). You know how it is, "Your call is important to us..." Both said they would return call within one business day. I next called Mountain Vista Appliance Service and was actually able to speak to a human being! I set up an appointment for between 8 and 10 AM the following day. First thing on Thursday morning, Tim appeared and examined the freezer door. He said that he felt freezer drawer was frozen shut, which indicated defrost condensation not draining away as it should and then accumulating and freezing. He said that he had never seen one that tightly frozen, but given the way the drawer was constructed, he couldn't see how it could be anything else and advised us to unplug the refrigerator and let it warm using a box fan to hasten the process. He indicated that it may take as long as 5-7 days to thaw. Tim didn't charge me for a service call but asked me to give him a call to let him know what had happened because he was curious about what exactly was going on. Fortunately, the next morning (Friday), I gave a hard pull on the drawer and it came open and sure enough, there was A LOT of ice under the drawer. Long story made short...Tim worked us into his schedule by Friday at noon and completely cleared the ice jam in the drain system, cleaned the drain system, and got our refrigerator/freezer back up and running before everything in the freezer thawed! What a relief! Oh...my "important" calls to the other two appliance repair services, I'm still waiting for those return calls. Go figure! read more

The man who came to look at me refrigerator was timely, kind, and informative. However my refrigerator wasn't able to be repaired. I paid 65$ for 25 minutes of time and my problem wasn't solved. I called the company, and they told me the service fee is firm. I probably will never call this company again based off of this one 25 minute experience. This was on 9/18. 9/27/17. Over a weekend our dryer stopped tumbling the damp cloths. I contacted several competitors but appointments were a week out for repair service. I called Mountain Vista Appliance and Cheyenne was able to send a repairman the next day. The diagnosis for the dryer repair was a burned out motor for the tub caused by a plugged vent. The motor was ordered that afternoon. I cleared the vent duct that was restricted by 2/3 at the exterior wall outlet from a poor installation when the home was built.The new dryer motor was recieved from Sacramento two days later and installed that afternoon. The motor repair took less than an hour and the dryer and unrestricted vent are now fully functional. Thank You Mountain Vista Appliance and your crew. read more

I would NOT recommend using this company at all. They came, took my $100, and left my dryer working exactly as it was. The service tech came in a unmarked vehicle. He came in smelling like smoke and that is just gross. I knew the service call was going to be $65. I hate paying for a service call, but, I agreed to it as I read the other recommendations on here and on Yahoo. I am convinced those are all relatives of the owner now. The tech ran the dryer for 2 minutes, checked everything and then stated I needed to change the tubing that connects to the dryer and the wall. Intriguing as I just did that myself the day before. "The kind that bends isn't good". Really? Because I have had that on every dryer since I have been old enough to own a dryer. Of course, he never told me the price of the tubing and it was my mistake for not asking. When he took off my tube, which again was brand new, he made sure to tear it so that it couldn't be used again. Needless to say, I was shocked to find out that the $10 tube I just bought at Home Depot the day before cost $35 through this genius and Mountain Vista. He then goes outside and looks at the roof and tells me that I should probably have the vent blown out. Of course, he can NOT do this... another scam artist will have to come do it and he provides me a card for this other potential scam artist. So, he charges me $100 for 10 minutes worth of "work" and leaves without testing a load of laundry or doing anything of real value. What annoyed me most is that even when he asked for payment, he never told me the price. He simply asked for my credit card and ran it before telling me what the total was. It is only a hundred dollars, but, it is a hundred that could have been used in a different way, for sure. If you say you repair dryers, I think you should repair from the machine all the way to the vent out of the house. You shouldn't leave until it is working or it is a known fact that a part needs to be replaced and/or the whole dryer needs to be replaced. Just my opinion. I called Mountain Vista Appliances to make things better, NOT to leave things as they were!! Anyway, after he leaves, I figured I'd test it out myself and of course, there is NO change in the drying of my clothes. $100 for doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I see that as being completely unethical and basically stealing from a customer. The very most it should have been is $65 as this company/service tech did NOTHING to make things better and the only reason why I would agree to the $65 is that it was stated upfront, BUT, that is still a rip off as it surely wasn't $65 worth of gas and labor to come to Double Diamond. I've learned my lesson with this company. It was a $100 lesson but I can assure you they will NEVER get another call from me or any of my friends or neighbors or anyone else that asks me "ever have someone come out and look at an appliance for you... I am having issues with my xxx". COMPLETELY WORTHLESS SERVICE FROM THIS COMPANY. FIND A COMPANY THAT REALLY WANTS YOUR BUSINESS AND IS WILLING TO COME OUT WITH THE PROMISE OF NO "CALL OUT FEES" UNLESS THEY RESOLVE THE ISSUE. read more

I would not recommend them. I used them for a good deal of work on a big home. There were a number of repairs that required parts that would have been covered by warranty if they had been dealer certified. I pointly asked at the time and was misinformed as to the warranty terms. I later found out this had cost my client over $2000 extra. After calling several places I called Mountain Vista Appliance repair and got a lovely woman on the phone (Loretta) who took all my information and quickly scheduled an appt. for me. She said she could have a technician out that same day. I was in shock. When the gentleman (Tim) came out he was very respectful, friendly, and knowledgeable. I hired Mountain Vista Appliance as I had a refrigerator that stopped working at my rental house. They were able to get me in the next business day and the technician was courteous about calling to let me know when he would arrive. He was able to identify the problem quickly. A circuit board needed to be replaced, one he didn't have with him. He quickly got the circuit board and installed it. The frig is up and working, and my tenant is happy with the outcome. We had a dishwasher door malfunction over the weekend. I called the business where we purchased it only to be told their first service call opening would be 10 days away. That wasn't going to work because we were leaving that day for two weeks. I called Mountain Vista Appliance Service and they had numerous times the next day. Edwin arrived early in my 2 hour window. He was professional, polite, and very knowledgeable. He knew exactly what to do and felt bad about the expense of the repair. I would not recommend this business or its Owner to anyone in need of this professional service. They are rude, inefficient and costly for the professional service they offer. I had something replaced, a garbage disposal and it did not work, right away. I call the business told them exactly what I did, I was told I needed to make an appointment for a service man, Jim the owner, to come out and take a look. I then got a call the night before my service appt and told they needed more information. I told them again, exactly what was happening and what I did exactly, as was told a week ago, and by Jim the owner, was then referred to a plumber, basically saying that it's not his problem. They should not have made me wait a week, since I held no information back on my follow call. Then Jim himself said, "its not his fault, if I am too stupid to not know, what to put in a garbage disposal, ie, onion peels." The owner Jim or his receptionist would not disclose his last name when I asked for it and became very hostile on the phone, even going as far as to call me names!!!! Over the weekend, my dryer decided to stop running. On Monday, I called several appliance repair businesses, trying to find one that could complete a repair quickly. When I called Mountain Vista, I spoke to a lady who quickly and efficiently took my information and was able to schedule a repair for the next day (Tuesday) between 12 and 2pm. Tuesday morning, I received a call from Tim to let me know he had a cancellation and offering to come early if that worked. Of course it worked!!!! As a mom with little ones, I need my dryer working! :) Tim arrived promptly in the time frame given. He was polite and courteous, even making sure to lay down a rug to avoid scratching my wood floors. He was able to diagnose and repair the issue really quickly and the price for the repair was VERY reasonable. Tim explained the problem to me and suggested ways to prevent a repeat of the problem. He even checked my exhaust vent, suggested that I look into having the vent cleaned professionally, offered a referral to a local business AND gave me a coupon for that business' services. I was very impressed with Mountain Vista and I would definitely use them again for any appliance repairs! read more
