This is easily my FAVORITE restaurant in Baltimore!! The location is easy enough to get to and parking is usually easy enough to find too. It is street parking, but even during the lunch rush I've never had a hard time parking. The entire staff here are super nice and very accommodating. The owner/manager is also very helpful and she has a great personality. Every member of the team does their best to make sure your dining experience is enjoyable. My beverage never got lower than 1/2 full because this team of waiters operated like a we'll oiled machine. The same is true for the buffet. If something runs low, it is refilled in about 5 minutes or less. And the quality of the food is so good on the buffet that it's hard to believe it only costs $10.99 pet person! The buffet selection includes chicken and meat dishes, veggies, curries, Naan, basmati rice, and even a few dessert and condiment options! Yum is an understatement! The atmosphere is laid back too. And I love all of the artwork hanging throughout the restaurant. This is my favorite spot for all of the reasons above. I just left and I can't wait to go back! Maybe tomorrow.. Lol read more

Only thing I feel suspect about is Ordering lunch from a place that has a lunch buffet already up and running when you get there. Just feel that my food won't be cooked fresh. I ordered the chicken vindaloo with medium spice. Rice felt like it was out for a while ..just hard (pause). Chicken wasn't bad, just wasn't fresh.. almost dry. But I knew it wasn't going to be what I wanted.. it was just to bad I saw the buffet set up AFTER I ordered. I would have selected another restaurant. Wanted to witness the good things other reviews shared. All & All.. I'll give it another try during dinner hours. They don't give you big portions. Street parking is available. Delicious Nepali food with great service and generous portions! Two friends and I ordered takeout for dinner (two entrees and an appetizer between the three of us) and we all loved it. The portion sizes were very solid -- we had plenty of leftovers. My favorite dish by far was the Saag Paneer. Saag Paneer has long been one of my top South Asian dishes, and for the past couple years, Nepal House has held the crown. It was so luscious and creamy. I'm craving some right now as I write about it! I would confidently recommend Nepal House to anyone who craves a delicious, hearty meal. Nepal House is one of the top restaurants I've tried in the Baltimore area so far, and seriously, I cannot speak more highly of the Saag Paneer. 5 well-earned stars. Introduction: I decided to try and work at this location with unpaid, hands on training which I'm completely fine with, but here's why I'd choose not to eat or work here. Hygiene: they don't follow city mandates at all. They don't wear gloves and don't enforce employees to wear gloves. Everything is done completely barehanded. The floors, walls, tabletops rarely cleaned in the kitchen. A wipe down is as much as it gets, and there's like no soap in there either. The bathroom is the only sanitary location so the customers are left happy or whatever. The customers are left thinking that it's a clean place. If the health department found out, they'd get several points against them. Employee pay: I was only there for 2 days of training. They wanted me to go 2 ish weeks without any kind of pay. No. I was born in this country. No. They worked me to hard and had expectations too high for me to not be paid. And I'm not lazy. I work at Amazon. I can move fast. I talked to the cashier about their pay to see if working there was even worth my time. The cashier's answer was disgusting. The owner pays him below minimum wage. They work the kitchen, the register, and served customers. That's illegal. I immediately left. They said their pay was $10 an hour. That's ridiculous! Maryland state minimum wage, if I'm not mistaken, is $11.15 an hour, and it's being raised to $15 an hour soon! I was just disgusted by how the place was ran. Conclusion: If you care about your rights, don't eat here. Support basic human rights and just don't eat here. These people run the Emplyees here the way every immigrant is scared of being ran when they try to get a job in America. They run their employees like "aliens" in my home country. Immigrant or not, people shouldn't have to deal with stuff like this ever. I'd make the owner eat grass if I had money for a lawyer. My father and many other soldiers, which I thank them for their service l, didn't risk their lives during OIF and OEF aka operation Iraqi freedom and operation enduring freedom for people to come to our home and walk all over us. Really good fresh food! I've never had paneer pakora (fried cheese) and now it's my new favorite appetizer. The vegetable samosas are huge and loaded with potato. The chicken biryani has a decent amount of chicken and the pieces are large, the rice was delicious. Really liked the raita that came with it, but I thought the green chutney and the tamarind chutney dipping sauces for the samosas could have used more flavor. Nepal House's biryani is the best I've had in Baltimore, and I'm a huge biryani fan. My family is from Pakistan, and I order it "spicy" and it is so delicious (a good amount of heat). I have woken up craving their chicken biryani before--I got delivery yesterday because I knew it was the only thing that could make me feel better (and it really did!). Their pakoras are also delicious and my friend's lamb curry was also yummy. The ambience is quite nice and there's great outdoor seating. I also love its location in Mt. Vernon. Yum yum yum finally a delicious Indian place in Baltimore!! I only had the chance to do takeout and haven't stopped thinking about it. I will definitely be back to dine in, which looks like a cozy spot good for single dining or with a group. For food I had the chicken tiki masala - the sauce was the perfect blend of tomato, spices and cream. The chicken was cooked just right and a decent portion size for takeaway. We ordered Nepal House on Sunday evening - one paneer masala and a chicken masala, with garlic naan and a mango lasse. We asked for spicy (5/5) and received zero spice to our meals at all. Usually this wouldn't bother me, but it happened in conjunction with the "mango" lasse arriving as a water cup of plain yogurt with ice cubes - a big wtf moment. I have never seen anything like it from any Indian restaurant's I have eaten - and I try Indian practically everywhere we travel to. That said, I do not recommend Nepal House at all. I am vegetarian, my husband is not, and I'm happy to say there were ample choices for both of us. Fast-forward a few years. We had taken a break from restaurants due to Covid but I'm happy to report Nepal House still serves an impressive lunch buffet. Everything was hot, fresh, and well seasoned. I was especially happy with the vegetable pakora and the yellow dal. And my husband was happy with the curried goat dish. Just be careful of all the bones... Such perfection! From the ambiance and staff to the food, this place is AWESOME! I purchased a Groupon that required a reservation to use and was able to make a reservation same day. We arrived and asked to sit outside, which they were able to accommodate. The outdoor space they have is small, but very nice. It is right in front of the restaurant, but it still feels private in the way that it is set up. You start your experience with a warm hand towel, who doesn't love that? We decided on getting some Chicken Momos because we had been reading about them and haven't actually had the chance to try Momos before. They were perfect. I will never not order Momos when available. I am a dumpling queen and these reign supreme for me. Great flavor and the sauce is a great accompaniment. For our main dishes we went with one tried and true - Chicken Tikka Masala - and one specialty - Chicken 65. We ordered both medium spicy, which was the perfect heat. Just a little bit of forehead sweat as you're eating, which is just the way I like it. The Chicken Tikka Masala was the best we have ever had. I am obsessed with it. It was the spiciest I've had and that didn't stop us from soaking up every single drop of that sauce with rice and naan. The Chicken 65 was divine, a nice change up from what we are used to. I enjoyed the peppers and the sauce so much, every bite, even those without chicken was packed with spice and flavor. I would definitely recommend this dish. There are some places when we eat my husband says, "If you don't give this place 5 Stars, I will (insert something cruel)," and sometimes I agree with him and sometimes I don't, but this place, no doubt. So many options. Soups. Salad. Veggie dishes. Meat dishes. Dessert. Tea. Quite the spread for $10. I had what I'm calling Indian salsa. Chickpeas. Mint. Onions. Potatoes. Etc but cold. Perfect with naan bread. I got the veggie samosa. It was hefty and filling but really good. I got some other folded pancake like thing filled with some sort of veg purée. No clue what but also tasty. There was a run of the mill Asian noodle dish. Probably for the not so adventurous. I got the chicken tikka masala. Very, very good. They had all the other normal dishes too. Loved the place, the food, the staff, and the owner! Family (4 humans + a 80 lbs GSD hunk of slobber and fluff) was looking to celebrate a birthday and wanted outdoor dinning when it was fairly close to 10:00 pm, their closing time. They have two or three outdoor tables and they gladly obliged and we just had a wonderful evening. Loved their chilly paneer dish and the yellow lentils were prepared to perfection. They also had Nepalese Dim Sim's - two of us loved 'em and the other two not so much. Mr Prem Raja, the owner, really takes pride in his restaurant and was a great host. I love buffets! And Nepal House does not disappoint. At the time when I went, (March, 2018), the lunch buffet cost about $12 pp, and offered a meat curries, samosas, naan bread, etc. Though the variety of foods at the lunch buffet weren't that great, the quality of each of the dishes made up for it. I particularly loved the naan, and the sweet tea. Tip: the buffet closes around 2pm so get there early. read more

We went there for lunch buffet and I was pretty disappointed. Decor and people inside are really good but considering the name of the restaurant is "Nepal House", you would expect some Nepali food like momo(steamed dumplings), chicken sekuwa, sandheko or sel roti are not to be found. I saw a chicken noodle soup and I guess that was their version of Thukpa. The buffet option was also very limited, only one chicken gravy dish where the chicken was very hard, the lamb/goat was not flavorful and then there was no fish dishes (no fish fry or fish gravy) for a Sunday buffet. There was no gulab jamun. As I said the interior looks fine, parking can be an issue since it's street parking and limited but the major concern for me would be the variety of food for the buffet and the taste...other restaurants nearby does much better for the same price. read more

First off, Nepal House wins for 1st place for curbside appeal. The outside greenery is gorgeous and incredibly inviting. One of the many reasons historic Charles street is so cool. Second off, the food is legit. Offering the very best of Indian/Nepalese cuisine. It's always so tempting to order their food through the various delivery services like Postmates or Uber Eats, but there is certainly something to be said for the service here. It's typically pretty quiet when dining-in but the staff is attentive and very pleasant. Also, I gotta point out the papadum crackers they serve in the beginning of the meal is such a treat. Light and crispy to prep for the savory, delicious meal to come, one more perk to dining in. Last time we visited, we ordered the chicken wings (cause my better half literally can't go anywhere without ordering chicken wings if it's on the menu), Chicken Tikka Masala, and the Alu Gobi. All amazing. Great flavor and spice. More food from the Nepalese menu is next on our list for when we return! read more
