Someone in the group noticed the swirling tornado of trash right outside the front door. That didn't bother me, though I could see how someone would think that represents overall management and attention to detail. Just like a previous reviewer upon seating we got our glasses of water but waited about 30 minutes AFTER we'd drunk the glasses dry to get another. At least two of us asked for a refill during that time. So that's quite poor in itself. The first round of meat was actually incredibly delicious (it's why I went from 1 to 1.5 stars before graciously rounding to 2. Yes this could have been a 1 star review). The following rounds ranged from ok-to-good but nothing made us say "wow". Here the Star Rating killers... and I'll start with the big one. Or should I say Bug One. After about two rounds I happened to look down at my salad and saw several fruit flies trying to escape. Either they wanted a better dressing or wanted to go back to the trough, I dunno but at least 3 were trying to get off my plate depressa. You'll ask why I didn't say anything? This dinner was a lovely treat from family members who I may never see again so I didn't want to ruin their gift. I was however watchful to make sure none in the party went for a second helping at the insect bar. 2: I know it's a Brazilian place and the music is trying to accommodate that but unchecked playing of Sepultura over the speakers is a tough bite to swallow at a "nice restaurant". I'm sure someone spotified "artists from Brazil" and simply pressed play. 3. It's actually filthy in there. Sorry but grease builds up.

Just wonderful succulent cuts of meat without the fuss. And lots of it! The grilled pineapple is heavenly! It's expensive but the experience was worth it.

The decor and music choices marry the Latin-inspired cuisine with a classic Rehoboth east-coast beach sensibility. I was made to feel warm (at heart, they still have AC to keep ya cool) and welcome. The highlight was the service. The man (I believe the owner himself) was the cheeriest and kindest man I've met all week. He encouraged all of our choices and offered us to try the delicious beverages (tamarind was my favorite!) Food was served quickly and with a smile. I was very satisfied even though I must admit I kept my choice pretty standard with the Little Missionary. While just a footlong with mayo, ketchup, and mustard, it really hit the spot when I just wanted more of a plain hot dog. My friends got the Little German and Little Cock which were coated in all manner of ingredients. My friends were so content, they got another dog to go. Our server, Fernando, set us up with separate checks. Several of us enjoyed margaritas. Everyone thought the food was amazing. I had the Ensalada Sin Fronteras with chicken. We started with chips and salsa, and they were excellent. The salsa wasn't overly spicy, just full of great flavor, and the chips were fresh and crisp--definitely a strong start to the meal. My wife ordered the chicken chimichanga. It was quite different from what we usually get at the Mexican spots we frequent--it was one large chimichanga served with a small salad, whereas we're used to getting two smaller ones with rice and beans, which we usually share. Still, it was tasty and satisfying in its own unique way. I ordered the Chicharrón en Salsa Verde--crispy pork and onions in a green tomato sauce, topped with cilantro and served with rice and warm flour tortillas. It had great flavor and the pork had a nice texture--crisp but not dry. Our friends ordered a variety of dishes, including: Chile en Nogada - a stuffed poblano pepper with seasoned ground beef, covered in a chilled almond and walnut nogada sauce, topped with pomegranate seeds and served with rice. It was rich, colorful, and very flavorful. A beautiful dish with red and yellow sauces and a white cream swirl--unfortunately I can't recall the name, but it was as good as it looked. Six tacos with assorted meats--each one was fantastic. The flavors were bold and fresh. To drink, most of us had margaritas, and you could tell they use fresh ingredients--these were excellent and not overly sweet like some places serve them. Service was top-notch from start to finish--friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The only disappointing part of the evening came at the end, when we learned that the restaurant will be closing in about a month. The building is being torn down, possibly for high-rise condos. The staff doesn't know if or where they'll reopen. It's a real shame, especially in an area that's already struggling with traffic and congestion. More homes, fewer gems like this. I just wish we had discovered Sin Fronteras Café sooner. Hopefully they find a new home nearby, and we'll definitely try to come back before they close for good.

All have been 3-4 stars (even the ones I hadn't reviewed). A friend claimed she got food poisoning from the Wheaton Mall location, which surprised me as the food quality is high, but maybe that location fell short. I prefer some other locations over Wheaton Mall one. As for the Laurel location, this one is my favorite, and I've been somewhat often. I've never had any significant issue with them. The food quality is great. I'll get a 1/4 or 1/2 chicken with 2 sides like redskin mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts, corn, fries, bread, etc. Staff is relatively nice here. I talked to the manager a couple of times about a couple of minor things, and manager is good here. One time in July 2025, I went for Mandela Day, and it was a madhouse as it was a free 1/4 chicken with fries. I was patient as I waited a while as they had dozens of people wanting the free chicken that Friday evening. My girlfriend was sadly ill that weekend; so I bon appetited on my own. Nando's reward program got worse; so I'm less motivated to schlep to Laurel just to get Nando's. However, if I was going to go with Nando's, I'd go with this one as Arundel Mills let me down last time. Service & food is always top notch at the Laurel location.

The dining area was clean, spacious, and consistent with the atmosphere you'd expect from most Nando's locations. The only downside was the restroom, where some were out of toilet paper. This used to be Urban…read morePlates, which I remembered going to a couple of times and was disappointed when it closed a few years ago. The first time I went here was in summer 2022 shortly after they opened, and I was disappointed with a few things. At that time, I would've given them 2-stars, and I remember thinking I probably don't want to go back here. Then, about 1.5 years later on Friday, December 1, 2023 after a movie, there was someone dressed up in chicken costume as I recall giving coupons for a free side to be used by expiration at the end of 2023. 11 days later on Tuesday, December 12, I decided to give Chicken + Whiskey another chance with the coupon as a catalyst. A couple of issues I had in 2022 were improved in 2023. I didn't think it was the most outstanding chicken & sides I've had but pretty good. And my opinion continued to improve in 2024 & remain positive as recently as Saturday, March 1, 2025. The main thing that pissed me off in 2022 was that there was an extra upcharge on mac n' cheese with no warning, and the staff was a bit snippy when I said it should've been more clear on the glass when ordering and not a small note up top. Although they were willing to change out, I really wanted the mac n' cheese and ultimately decided to pay the extra. In December 2023, I asked about the mac n' cheese upcharge, and they said all the sides were the same, no upcharge. I breathed a sigh of relief as I didn't like being charged for picking a certain side. In 2024-2025, I always get the 1/4 chicken white with 2 sides, which I vary somewhat depending on my mood. December 2023 I tried THREE sides as my coupon was for a free side and the 1/4 chicken already comes with 2 sides. This gave me the opportunity to try more sides although the staff is cordial and will let you sample, which I've done a couple of times to determine if it's a side I really want. With my 3 sides, I got mac n' cheese (now with no upcharge & my favorite "vegetable"), Yuca fries, & side salad (to be healthy since I already was getting 2 unhealthy sides). Yuca fries & chicken are both great. Mac n' cheese is solid too. However, it seems like the mac n' cheese gets a bit cool by the time I pay & ultimately am eating it. So, that is a bit off-putting. Additionally, they give you a free sauce, which I generally get the BBQ. It's nice to dip the chicken in but is a bit spicy. I signed up for their loyalty program and got points, which in 2024-25 meant I got some discounts for earning points like a few bucks off my food, which is nice perk to help me keep coming back. I had signed up for In Kind app in January 2025, and there are only 5 restaurants in Columbia where you get 20% off (3 by mall: this, Bennie's [which Chicken + Whiskey] owns too, & Walrus). On March 1, 2025, there was some confusion with the staff with the In Kind + a bit of loyalty discount I had. A person from Bennie's staff was over to help since the two places are connected. Ultimately, my girlfriend & I approximately $25 meals came down to only $10 something, which was awesome! After going through the assembly line to say the entree you want, pick sides, and pay, you take your tray to seating. They have a bunch of benches to sit on, which is where I tend to sit. They also have regular seating. But here, I prefer the benches because the lighting is kind of bad, but worse in the regular seating area. I wish the lighting was better as I like to clearly see my food, but it's a minor complaint. Also, they have a separate water station, which is nice. The machine is a bit hard to press with the plastic cup; so you need to use your hands to press. Overall, Chicken + Whiskey is solid. We will keep coming back as we know we can get a good quality meal and cordial staff.

The arroz chaufa had a great mix of flavors, the yuca fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the rice and beans had that classic South American comfort food feel. There was a small issue--our order arrived without the red and green sauces. I called the restaurant, and the manager, Brian, personally delivered them. That level of service is rare and truly appreciated. And that red sauce? It packs a serious kick in the best way. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be ordering again.

It's a well oiled machine to push out really poor quality food as fast as humanely possible. But here's the kick (in the behind) its is supposed to be a SEAFOOD restaurant. I will explain... I had fish tacos. Even at the worst restaurant you will get a tilapia or cod grilled or broiled. Here, ready for this.. I got 3 FROZEN fish sticks (confirmed by the waiter) for $30. Seriously? My son in law got food poisoning from the Seafood Ravioli the next day. The carb cakes were deep fried. I know that's not a crime but for God's sake fresh crabs are a block away. But you can't pan sear them? You know why, because it comes out in 15 mins. Every entree came out all together in 15 mins. ( i timed it). How is that possible? Do you see where I'm going.
