Continuing alphabet series representing 2025, N is for Nando's. I've reviewed 5 Nando's in my Yelp history and been to a couple of others I never reviewed. All have been 3-4 stars (even the ones I hadn't reviewed). A friend claimed she got food poisoning from the Wheaton Mall location, which surprised me as the food quality is high, but maybe that location fell short. I prefer some other locations over Wheaton Mall one. As for the Laurel location, this one is my favorite, and I've been somewhat often. I've never had any significant issue with them. The food quality is great. I'll get a 1/4 or 1/2 chicken with 2 sides like redskin mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts, corn, fries, bread, etc. Staff is relatively nice here. I talked to the manager a couple of times about a couple of minor things, and manager is good here. One time in July 2025, I went for Mandela Day, and it was a madhouse as it was a free 1/4 chicken with fries. I was patient as I waited a while as they had dozens of people wanting the free chicken that Friday evening. My girlfriend was sadly ill that weekend; so I bon appetited on my own. Nando's reward program got worse; so I'm less motivated to schlep to Laurel just to get Nando's. However, if I was going to go with Nando's, I'd go with this one as Arundel Mills let me down last time. Service & food is always top notch at the Laurel location. read more

We stopped by for lunch on Saturday. The restaurant was fairly quiet, but the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The dining area was clean, spacious, and consistent with the atmosphere you'd expect from most Nando's locations. The only downside was the restroom, where some were out of toilet paper. For my meal, I ordered the chicken livers in mango lime sauce, Portuguese rice, and corn on the cob. Everything was flavorful, and I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. Looking for a cute date-night without spending an arm and a leg? Well the Nando's in Laurel could be a great experience! You'll first notice the artistic and cultural ambience. The decor here is colorful, vibrant, and fused with South African heritage. The food is fresh and full of flavor! I ordered the Spicy Chicken Caesar salad and bread which comes topped with your choice of Peri sauce. I've actually been pretty hooked on this salad ever since my first bite lol I opted for medium sauce which had just right amount of kick. I enjoyed my meal but I also have to highlight the superb service! The management here is top notch and I can tell they train their staff to offer quality service. I was greeted, seated, and routinely checked on throughout my time here-- felt like I was getting a fine-dining experience. I'll be back soon for another Spicy Chicken Caesar salad. Been awhile since I visited Nandos! This location has always been one of my faves in the area! Still good and quick service here with friendly employees. I stopped by yesterday. The red sangria is everything! Food was tasty and fresh! It's the sauces for me! I didn't realize how lucky we are to have Nandos in the area. My sister moved to Philly a few years ago and there's none there so when she's visiting she is happy to go to Nandos and this is usually her location of choice! Parking is tight though! read more

I have been coming here for years. The food and service here are always consistent. The ambience is really nice with the comfy seats, dim lighting and nice color schemes inside. The food here is always fresh. I always order the chicken thigh skewers, peri bowls, chicken breast with a side of their peri Mac or chips. The chicken sometimes takes a minute but it's because it's cooked fresh and grilled to order. Nando's is also a great option for party platters. I've ordered their catered chicken, rice and corn options. I love how consistent the service is here. There's usually a manager on duty checking on orders. Great experience for a late lunch at Nando's. It was slow getting service to be seated but then we ordered on the table with a QR code. Service was friendly and checked on us. For the food and drinks: the initial cocktail pitcher we ordered wasn't available but the orange mango lemonade was good, not too sweet. We had the family platter for 6 of us. The chicken was soft and tasted pretty good. They have a variety of sauces but their sourness is not just for me. I didn't particularly like the sauces. Other than that, space is nicely decorated and clean. read more

I usually like Nando's and the food was good and semi good customer service amazing playlist. However I ordered a brownie and never got it so I had to ask for a refund. I at first was told it would take "a minute"by this young kid that worked there. And hr and a half passed by and nothing came. We asked him to check on it and he didn't do it. The manager offered to give it to go but I didn't even want it at this point. The manager was nice enough to give me a refund. When she was processing the refund, another girl asked " how long do brownies take" and she said "oh just 30 seconds". Pretty good location. Compared to other locations, the service and food were not too bad.

Nandos has a new menu item, the Garlic CLT, which keeps me coming back for more. I ordered it again and while it wasn't the best I've had, it did the trick. I had a side of fries with perinaise sauce. The fries were nice and hot. The kitchen was also very generous with the perinaise sauce. I'm usually running out of sauce before I get to the end of my meal but I had leftovers this time around. My chicken tasted a little bit too charred and the garlic bread bun was a bit dry. Nandos team members came around every 15 mins to make sure we were enjoying ourselves, which got annoying after the 3rd time but i appreciate the intentionality. Overall the food was decent. The table was a bit sticky but the environment was quiet and the music playing was definitely set the vibe. I think I prefer other locations for future visits but would return as a last resort. read more

We visited for the first time Monday, 4/28. We ordered multiple items including corn on the cob at the register. We got take out. When we got home, they had left out the corn. We called. They said "we didn't have corn today." We asked for a refund. They said "we cannot give you a refund. It is not possible." They then offered for us to "come back some time to get another side." We live 15 minutes away and didn't want to return for a side we didn't want. We are very unhappy that they sold us something they did not have, simply left it out of the bag without informing us, refused a refund, and were unkind on the phone. I've always had such a great experience at this location. My family and I will usually come here on Friday's. Employees are hospitable. You have the option to order online or walk to the register and place your order. We normally place our order online. The servers will bring your food to your table. They have a lovely clean station with additional utensils, napkins, sauces, wet naps, sink to wash your hands. They really do think of everything. We order the family meal that comes with 2 sides. Food is always well cooked, flavors explode in your mouth, it's super delicious. Parking here can be a little wonky because parking in front of the stores is usually taken so you may have to drive around and find additional parking which is usually behind the businesses. read more

I've been to this location a few times and feel pretty pleased with the service I've received. While the front door looks like a dungeon door - and is ridiculously heavy - the atmosphere inside is colorful, unique, and fun. I was asked if I preferred a physical menu or the online version, which I appreciated as a returning patron. I really appreciate being able to sit down and use the online menu, so I can take it in at my own pace. The restaurant manager is a young gentleman that seems alert, attentive, and communicative with both patrons and staff. Though he didn't personally handle my table's order, he stopped by to check if everything was alright, which added to the friendly service. The food is moderately priced for the portions you receive, and customizable. I have not had an issue with my food. One minor gripe I have with this location is that, on several occasions, the kitchen plays loud music that clashes with the restaurant's radio, creating a chaotic atmosphere. The drink station was stocked and clean. I cannot comment on the restrooms. A popular spot with a great smell. read more

First, here's a parking tip: don't depend on Google maps to get you here easily! The layout of this shopping center has Google sending me in circles. Park in back by Burlington! Excellent service and food. I had never had sweet potatoes prepared like that and really enjoyed them. Portuguese rice was also new to me, although my friend - who recently spent 2 weeks in Portugal - said it's a very regional dish with lots of variations. There's a self-serve salsa bar where you can get little cups of different flavors. I was a bit disappointed they didn't have mango lime to try, but I really liked the garlic & herb. So, this will be an odd review so please bare with me. I'm giving them 3 stars because the food isnt bad, just not for us. The place is clean, well lit, and the staff is very friendly. The food is kind of mini portions, we ordered wings with corn on the cob and cauliflower and everything was like bite size. The wings were tiny and the skin/outside were rubbery but cooked though. The corn was sweet and good but were little cobs with tiny kernels and the cauliflower was just cauliflower, nothing special and a small portion The flavor of the wings was ok, the sauces available are just not enough as only 3 to choose from but again just not for us, you may love it. The chicken platter was delicious. The servings were generous. We need to order a larger size of the Golden Cauliflower on the next order. We loved the deserts! They were sweet but not too sweet. Three generations of women went here for lunch today; myself, my mother and my grandmother. All of our first times. Parking was not good as there is not a designated spot for this building. When leaving, I had to drive my car to the front of the store to pick my ladies up - due to the longer walk. But food and customer service wise, all was well. The food was great - my bowl with some hot sauce was absolutely GREAT. Can you see the rainbow of colors? OMG. Covid guidelines caused us to use the QR code for ordering, no big issue. You walk in, they ask if your here to dine in or take out and your off. The menu can be views by app or in house. This spot offers chicken with a spice that will have everyone satisfied. They have wings, but they are small. The chicken and corn are grilled. The food is fresh. When you hear or read chips, they mean fries. Ask for some perinayse sauce. The service is good. Delicious chicken!! A buddy of mine and I meet for dinner several times a year, and we always try to choose places we've never been (we both grew up in this area so the pickings are getting thin). He suggested Nando's, and I said Yes. The BBQ South American flavored chicken dishes are great!! A nice variety to choose from, varying parts of the bird, varying sized meals, many, many flavors and sauces and types of cooking, and a bunch of side offerings to choose from too. The waitstaff was really polite and fast. I think our food came out within five minutes of us ordering. And make sure to bring your cell phone. I have no idea if this is how they've always worked, but in March 2022 you sit at your table, scan the QR code that brings up the menu, and you order and pay online. Well it wasn't what we went to eat but turned out to be the best last minute stop. The half chicken hot flavor was very tasty. The roasted red pepper bowl was also very well received. The best thing about the night at Nando's was the food coming out within 10 minutes of the order being placed. No hangry moments at Nando's. My one knock is that they forgot our drinks until late into the meal. No offer for restitution. That was disappointing. Then the drinks were bad! So Nando's = water going forward. An untraditional, unexpected Valentines Day... I was a few doors down at a nail appointment that ran over by 30 mins on a holiday (Sigh) I had reservations for Capital Grill in DC that were for 10pm but by the time I left the nail salon at 830, it was no way I could get dressed & drive to D.C. for us to make that timeframe. At this point, I was tired from a 10hr long work day and wanted to stay local so told the BF to meet me at Nando's. He had never been so I went thru all the yummy items I love on the menu & explained how the restaurant is set up with seating yourself, etc. This location was actually out of a lot of my faves but no worries, I tried something new because I already trust in Nando's cooking style. The manager name Sandra proceeded to take our orders and I opted for a South African Chardonnay. We sat ourselves and Ms. Sandra brings our food & wine. She checks on us a few times and bf is loving his meal at this point. I sparked a conversation with her during 1 of her check points with us and she truly loves her business and is such a kind, sweet soul. I thanked her for a kindness and I can tell she was overwhelmed by a busy V-day at Nando's but she made our experience just perfect. I was more happy being in a relaxed environment then to deal with all the madness & overcrowdness. Side note: Some of my favorite must try items are the Peri Fries w/ Perinaise, the chicken burger, Heirloom salad, the Naughty Natas for dessert (make sure to eat them while they're hot), the Portuguese rice, the garlic bread, and best of all their sangria. Now that I've given this location a third try I feel like I can write a proper review. My first experience was dine in. not only was our food sub par at best the employees cared more about meaningless conversation behind the counter than they did about actual servicing the customers. We ordered carry out the second time and received raw chicken. the manager offered to remake the order however I was completely turned off by then. tonight my husband picked up a carry out order and everything was cold, unseasoned and pretty much inedible. I normally order the butterflied boneless chicken breast and two sides (mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, or garlic bread), which always is hot, fresh, delicious, and perfectly seasoned. The customer service ranges--sometimes excellent and sometimes mediocre. The manger is very friendly, attentive to guest needs, genuine, and professional. The ambiance is super! The decor, music, and lighting all enhance the dining experience. The high prices are the only thing that keep me from giving five stars. They do have a loyalty program: every purchase of $7.50 yields a stamp on their loyalty card that gives you a free side, drink, or entree, every few visits. read more

I've visited this location before and this time around I was disappointed. I had the Chicken "Burger" which is not a burger, but a poorly made sandwich. The sandwich is bulky and difficult to eat, everything was falling out and made my whole experience less enjoyable. I do not feel a chicken "burger," wings and two sangrias were worth the $48 paid. The food tastes good. The cost however for a chicken bowl is 16.95. The amount of food has decreased by half from when they first started many years ago. It's not filling anymore and with the cost it's a rare visit for us. The chicken breast is now one and not two. The size of a deck of cards. The upside is the self serve drinks. Tipping is less as they only bring the foods but nothing else. Minimum wage is now 17 dollars now so I guess the customers have to pay for less service and food now. I was embarrassed at what had occurred today in this establishment. I had dropped a $20 bill and this female employee picked it up. My brother CLEARLY saw her pick it up and when we confronted her about it she lied and said she didn't. If this is how every employee acts I will never recommend this place to anyone. I've been known to love me some Nando's Peri Peri. In fact, after I write this review of this Nando's Peri Peri in Laurel... I might just be writing a review of another Nando's Peri Peri in the DC Metro. So let's get down to brass tacks. My usual is: 1/4 Chicken white Medium; 2 sides ( usually Mashed Potatoes and Coleslaw). Now, the only real variation on Nando's in the area is the coleslaw ( as far as consistency). Some Nando's do their slaw more creamy than others. Some Nando's do their slaw more dry. Both are good, I prefer mine on the creamier side cause it dulls the heat of the medium spice on the chicken nicely. The thing that I now LOVE at Nando's is the Hummus. Yes... It just lights up my senses. It's almost like an MSG Umami 6th taste flavor. It's garlicky, it's vinegary, it's spicy. It's everything. I REALLY like it. So... whilst I'm not one of those people that order hummus at a restaurant as an appetizer, I am now one of those people that order hummus at a restaurant as an appetizer. The portion on the hummus is really good and there is more than enough pita to consume it. We've all been to a restaurant where we get a dip, or a trio of dips, and like 5 pieces of bread come with the dips... and you instantly think to yourself... oh man... I'm gonna need a whole lot more bread. I'll be honest; I think this happens to me on a bi-weekly basis. But truly, Nando's does a good job with the bread to dip ratio on this b. Really love Nando's, and now... I really love their hummus. The only thing! The ONLY THING! It's not even really a thing... but it's a thing. The only thing is... I can't really get the hummus and a my reg. chicken business. It's just way too much food. So I have to find someone to dine with in order to order the hummus. Taking applications now. read more

I'd been hearing all about Nando's from my friends that went to the UK locations. "The chicken!" "Dat sauce doe!" "Dem endless sauces doe!" You get the idea. So I jumped on the chance to pay a visit when I was in the area. This Nando's is a nicely decorated fast-casual restaurant. The staff were chill enough to seat me 10 minutes before closing time and offered assistance when I clearly had no idea what to do. Leave your stuff at the table, then order at the cash register right in front of the entrance when you're ready. Plenty of chicken (of course), but there are also a decent amount of vegetarian options from the menu I saw. I chose a Flame-Grilled Chicken Breast with a side of Red Skin Mashed Potato (recommended by the cashier). Most chicken entrees come with a free side. The next counter you meet is a hot sauce altar. Rows of Nando's sauces arrange themselves like Deal or No Deal suitcase models. Pick one, pick them all - this location doesn't seem to sell the sauces so this is your chance to stock up on Peri-Peri goodness. If you're really desperate, you can pack some to go. The side shows of this counter are a sink (for chicken wing fingers?), fro-yo machine, napkins and utensils. At the end is a big fancy drink dispenser, which also has an unassuming button for water. When my food was finally delivered, I was kind of shocked by how little $12 got me. I wasn't expecting slices from giant chickens, but even with the mashed potatoes there was so much blank space on that plate Taylor Swift could have written another song. I have to confess the chicken is one of the best I've ever eaten, if a little over-cooked, but the potatoes made the complete opposite impression by being a pile of almost flavorless mush. I probably put more sauce over the potatoes than the chicken, then gave up. Where are the claimed bits of "chunky potatoes"? Being located in a new shopping plaza, at least the premises are nice and vibrant. I enjoyed looking at the giant paintings and colorful lights in between bites and could see little evidence of wear and tear on my cushy booth seat. However, one of two things must happen before I come back: I develop an insatiable addiction to chicken and hot sauce, or Nando's matches their portion sizes with the $ signs. read more
