It's been a while since I've been to a pollo campero. Unfortunately, won't be back anytime soon. I was excited to see they offered fried and grilled chicken as I was craving both. I was first told they were out of the grilled chicken so I went with fried. I was then told they had the grilled chicken, so I ordered half and half. Got home and saw that it was all grilled chicken. Greasy grilled chicken to be exact. The other issue was that they no longer sold one of their sides (Mac & cheese) that was still listed on the menu. My alternative side was the rice and beans which lacked flavor. Pollo Campero is not for me. read more

This was my second visit to this establishment. My initial visit was with a friend and the chicken was a bit salty but quite tasty. The plantains were good but the coleslaw had too much mayo for my taste. During this visit there was no crowd so service was quick. The restaurant was typical for fast food, was also clean. The chicken this visit-GOOD GRIEF, was fried so hard I could not eat it all. Horrible! I ordered dark meat so, for dark meat to be dry, this was a problem. 7.18.22 My lunch was great, not so much for my husband. He ordered mixed 4 piece and what he got instead was all dark meat. He only likes white meat. It worked out in my favor though. Lol. The pieces were small especially the drumsticks. Nice that we got an extra drummie. Guess they can't count unless they threw an extra in b/c they were small. Friendly service and food came out quickly for how fresh it all was at the Fredrick location. Fried chicken, plantains, fries, and original fried chicken sandwich were all delicious. Bun on the sandwich was cold, but the chicken was crispy, the sauce was well seasoned, and the pickles were sweet but paired well with the chicken's flavor. Horchata and mango juice drinks were both pretty good. Location was very colorful and clean with indoor seating, outdoor seating, as well as a drive thru. read more

This chicken is fire! The meat has flavor all the way to the bone. Taste like it's been cooked on the grill by your uncle that does all the grilling for all the family get togethers! You know the kind that starts marinating the day before the party! There is delicious sauces that can be used to accentuate the flavor if you want to cool it down or spice it up. But the chicken is already cooked to perfection with the taste of smokey char. The sides are all good and for me a big horchata is the refresher for my liking. The fried chicken is no joke either! The grilled might be a little bit healthier, but don't forget to treat yourself with some fried chicken these good sides. Ordered and paid for my food online through Yelp. Went to the restaurant and they didn't receive the order so I was out of $11.00. The staff didn't try to accommodate me when I showed them my paid order from Yelp. The customer service was horrible as they were not attentive to me or my issue. I literally waited in line for 20 minutes before someone asked to help me and there were only 2 people in line ahead of me. I know this restaurant caters to a Spanish speaking population so I should of brushed up on my Spanish before entering the establishment because I wasn't greeted as warmly and attentively as I was when I visited the restaurant for the first time with my boyfriend whose Hispanic, ordered our meal in Spanish and spoke to the staff in Spanish. When I visited this time alone I was made to feel extremely uncomfortable and ignored. My boyfriend offered to return with me but at this point there's no need because all paying customers should be treated the same whether they speak Spanish or not. Pollo Campero is my favorite fast food place when visiting El Salvador. Every Pollo Campero there is always clean and service is top notch . I decided to visit the Pollo Campero in Laurel MD. I got to say service was great and the place was clean. The menu has items like tortillas and mashed potatoes that aren't offered back in Central America. Those to items were my least favorites in the menu. The Coleslow is different then the original recipe and the main reason I'm deducting 1 star. Overall It is a good place to eat Pollo. read more

This location is tricky to get to because it's on a major one-way road, so exercise some caution (drive slowly, watch out for the curb, and turn with a mindful eye to crossing pedestrians). Immediately after I saw the Pollo Campero sign, I slowed down (it's easy to miss and pass it) and pulled in to the parking lot, which has about eight or ten angled spots to the right, including several designated as spots for those with handicap stickers/placards. There was a slippery puddle of water right before you open the doors; it had been raining direly earlier. At about 8:22 pm, with a closing time of 9:00 pm, there were about 8-10 orders ahead of me in line (some were two-person parties, some were adults with children, and others were by themselves). It looked like most people in line were taking their food to go, despite there being several spots inside for dining. Only about three tables out of what I'd estimate are about 50 seats were occupied. There was only one employee staffed at the cash register, and no additional registers were opened up to alleviate the line. Still, the line moved smoothly. I ordered food to go: the camperitos (boneless chicken tenders) meal with tortilla (they were out of the dinner roll) and yucca. I had a coupon that covered the cost of the meal because of a very error-filled order I had placed recently. The cashier asked me to donate to St. Jude---"Any amount helps!" she said with gusto---so I donated an undisclosed amount. The cashier did not ask me about the app, which allows me to earn points and redeem rewards. I was handed a paper to acknowledge my donation on a wall that had several dozen other donors already. Great for them to partner with St. Jude! My food order was ready within eight minutes, packaged neatly, correct with all necessary sauces and utensils, and handed to me by a friendly, neatly dressed employee who looked happy at her job. I thanked her, and she wished me a good evening. I would return. This is the closest location to my house. read more

This was my first time trying Pollo Campero. It was terrible and a complete waste of money. First, I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich with no pickles. I got the meal with fries. The sandwich still had about four large slices of pickles on it, even though I ordered them without. The fries were cold and too salty. I also ordered a kids meal, which was 1 drumstick and an order of fries. The fries were also cold with that. Also, apparently, none of their meals don't come with drinks. Like I said, I've never eaten here before, so I wanted to try them, but based on my experience, I'm not impressed and won't be spending my money here again. read more

The food is served in normal non disposable plates and the same for the silverware. Most of the staff are hispanic and speak spanish. Visited during lunch on a Wednesday, there was a long line to order but it was moving quickly, They were out of charcoal grilled chicken, so they only had fried. We were told it would at least be 20 minutes before the charcoal chicken was ready. We did not wait, but the fried chicken was real good! The sides were real good, the cole slaw and Corn salad! Got it to go & it took a long time, but was well worth the wait. The chicken was YUMMY and very deliciously seasoned!!!!!!! Fried and grilled, both soooo good, each had their own distinct flavor and seasoning. A coworker told me about this place a few months that ago however I found excuses not to visit... it's past my exit, it was crowded when I drove by or I'm not sure I'll like it - fast forward. After making a concerted effort to visit one evening after work, I'm so glad I made the trip. It is approximately 7 minutes from my home and now I know first hand why this place tends to always be crowded. The chicken is freakin delicious and the empenadas will have you visiting multiple times each week. This was just terrible food, and subpar even by fast food standards. We ordered and had a family meal of fried chicken delivered with sides of french fries and mashed potatoes. Everything was cold. The chicken was greasy with little actual meet. The mashed potatoes were clearly made from flakes like I used to get in elementary school. The french fries were stale. What an incredible waste money. Pleasantly surprised by this place. It's almost like a hole-in-the-wall experience, but with a fast food chain. Weird, but nice. They give you silverware to eat with--seriously. That's different. What chain restaurant gives you real utensils?! The chicken was quite good; if you want an alternative to KFC, try them. They also had their own store brand flan and tres leches. No one apologized, AND they didn't have one of the sides I ordered- which would have been fine except I had paid for it already! I tried this place because I saw the sign while traveling on interstate 95. It is pretty far off of the interstate, so it's kinda a pain in the @$$ if you are looking to get off and back on your road trip. Now the food was........ Ok. Yep just ok. I ordered the citrus grilled chicken breast and wing with Campero beans and a couple of white corn tortillas. The beans were very tasty, but the chicken was dry (although the skin was nice and tangy). The corn tortillas we also dry and cardboard-like. I much prefer flower tortillas, but maybe that is not authentico. Service was good and the restaurant was a little loud. It's a decent meal if you don't have to drive out of your way. I think that means they were slightly overcooked. I'm not sure how they're supposed to be, I just know how I like em. The corn salad was interesting. It is cold elote with pumpkin seeds, in a cup.
