I've ordered Uber Eats from this place before and when I ordered the first time, I ordered it again the next day, it was so good. I was finally in the area and got a chance to go in person and wow, the experience of eating the food fresh there was even better - although I must say this food does travel very well. I wish I caught the young man's name, who was the cashier, but he was great! He was very friendly, just seemed like a good, hardworking kid. I wanted a classic so I just got the gyro platter, the Greek fries and the soup. The soup is so good and reminds me of my favorite Greek place back home in chicago, I used to eat this type of soup every weekend with my family. Ingredients are fresh here and quality is always A1. The Greek fries are my favorite and a guilty pleasure. They are so flavorful and have the best texture. The gyro was also very filling and they really don't skimp out here with their toppings. So I was struggling because low key I was on my way to chic fila but it was closed for construction. I was trying to make a healthy decision and stumbled across the big Greek cafe. We tried Big Greek Cafe for takeout and overall had a solid experience. I ordered the gyro salad and my husband got the sampler platter. The gyro salad was massive (definitely enough for two meals) though I made it one delicious night. I appreciated that the meat was packed separately to keep the lettuce fresh. At first it looked like a small portion, but once I poured it on, it was more than enough. The gyro meat was flavorful, tender, and everything you want it to be. The salad itself was fresh and generously topped. The sampler platter, on the other hand, was a bit of a letdown. While it came with a good variety and looked like a lot of food, the meat was dry and lacked flavor (it tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while). We ended up using quite a bit of the sauces to add moisture and flavor, but even those came in very thick chunks rather than a smooth dip. Still, the portions were generous, and my meal was great. Their food is good- cooked well, mild, good feta, and flavorful overall. I especially enjoy their salads and Big Greek fries. I remember going to several Big Greek Cafe locations when I lived in Montgomery County. I assumed they were only in those few locations. I moved to western Anne Arundel County, and I was happy to discover this nearby location in Prince George's County (Laurel). This location didn't disappoint either. My girlfriend & I went here on Friday, May 24, 2024 after a movie in Beltsville on the way back home. I got my own gyro platter, which was a ton of food, but I was hungry and ate well that night. Rice, gyro meat, pita bread, & side salad were all delicious. My girlfriend got a gyro wrap & fries. Their fries are really good too! But I went healthy with the side salad, but I partook in a few of her fries too. The best fries to get are the Greek fries, which are feta cheese on the fries, but even the plain fries are top notch. Something has changed here and not for the better. My husband and I have been loyal customers for several years. The food was always generous, filled with lemon and well prepared. The lemon potatoes today had zero lemon as did the avgolemono ( egg lemon) soup. The potatoes which used to be well baked are now hard, boiled. Horrible. I had to put my own lemon on them and make in an airfryer and even then barely edible. The gyros which used to have tons of delicious meat are now much smaller in meat portions, a deliberate corporate change I was informed. Absolutely loved my food from here. I tried the our famous gyro pita with fries. Tons of meat on the pita and the fries were amazing! My husband got the gyro bowl. He really enjoyed it. I think I could eat this every week. I'm trying not to. I had a Gyro Bowl twice and it was so good each time. I keep forgetting to take a picture before I start digging into it. One day I hope to go when I'm not so hungry. I would ask to add olives to the bowl. The lemon olive oil vinaigrette was not what I expected but so good with the pita. I think they need to work on consistency because both bowls had different amounts of ingredients that were obvious enough for disappointment. The Gyro Pita was super tasty! I randomly came across this place on my way home from the Doctor's office. I noticed that there was a Wednesday special which was enough for me to stop on it. The special was a gyro, you could add fries and a drink for an up charge. I think mine was more of an up charge because I got the big green fries with feta and oregano. The gyro was huge and fresh. The eggplant dip wasn't great. The fries. Omg the fries. *chefs kiss* so good. The spanakopita was also really really good. The gentlemen that took our order was really nice and helpful. The customer service was very pleasant and accommodating. I decided to try The Big Greek Bowl with Falafel, an almond cream pie and a drink. Everything was delicious, the falafel was not over cooked and my dessert wasn't overly sweetened. I really enjoyed my lunch and I'll be back to try more menu items. We were looking for something different and found the Bug Greek Cafe online. It was in an area of Laurel we don't visit often. My wife had the spanakopita appetizer and when it was brought out it was larger that expected. It was flavorful and the pastry was fluffy. I had a gyro and was quite surprised how good it was. The lamb and beef was perfectly cooked and was tender. Tzatziki was flavorful and perfect compliment with tomato's and red onion. It was a little salty for me but overall very good.
