3 Chicken Breast with sweet potato side

I was a bit skeptical but the food was really good. I had the 3 chicken breast with a side of sweet potato. I also had the honey lavender lemonade which was delightful. I would definitely go again.

This place is always a must stop when in the area. Great food selection, yum seasonal beverages, clean dining area, and great service. This place has been a food court gem. They are certainly one of hubby and I favs. They have sandwiches, wraps, charbroiled chicken, amazing sides, etc. I highly recommend this place!!

Representing 2024 in alphabet series, N is for Nando's. I had been to the Nando's Arundel Mills location a few times prior to 2024 and a few times with my girlfriend in 2024 & 2025. Food is great like the other locations. Every time I go to this location, their scanner doesn't work to get the points. So, they tell me to scan the receipt, which is a hassle, and you have to remember to do that. I had some issue relating to rewards and spoke with the manager, who was nice. I believe it was using my birthday deal, and she tried with the scanner to no avail. She gave me the meal on the house, which was unexpected. That day in winter 2024, this Nando's was my favorite and would've gotten 5-stars. Last time my girlfriend & I were here was on 12/9/25. To be fair, I didn't want to overeat, and getting 1/2 chicken with 2 sides can be a weight gain for me, and my weight was inflated in general in December 2025 due to the holidays. We went for a somewhat early dinner around 5:30 as we had an advanced movie screening at Egyptian Cinemark. I got the 1/4 chicken white with Brussel sprouts (which is always $2 upcharge) and Peri-Peri chips (Nando's fancy way of saying fries). I wish I took a pic of the December 9, 2025 chicken here, but I went only 9 days later to the Laurel location on 12/18 as I had points expiring and needed to use points relatively soon before they went away, and there was a decent amount of meat on the 1/4 chicken as I did sent a pic to my girlfriend from the Laurel location. The chicken at Hanover maybe had about 1/2 the amount of meat as it should have, which the Laurel location was about right and was the right amount of chicken per 1/4 piece in my picture from March 2024 attached of this location then. I was complaining to my girlfriend about this nonsense some of our time here; put me in a worse mood. Also, the Brussel sprouts were in a smaller container, and I'm paying an extra $2 upcharge to get a smaller container. The normal amount of fries, which isn't a ton of fries. I told my g/f I hate to say it, I'm still kind of hungry and kept mentioning possibly going to Yogurt Mountain. I certainly wasn't going to reward Nando's with being more food or dessert there. We ended up going to Yogurt Mountain, which was delicious, but I didn't really want to supplement my lacking meal with sugary dessert when weight was already up in December, not to mention extra cost. The same nice manager who was helpful in early 2024 came around to see how our meals were. I like when managers check on the customers. Instead of my response of great or good, I gave a more of a lackluster response of aah ok. Before I had any chance to elaborate, she quickly walked away. She was going to other tables to see how other tables were doing, so while good she was checking on the other customers, but I was frustrated as I was going to say more. We didn't bother talking to the manager afterward as we didn't have that much time, and remember we were unexpectedly going to Yogurt Mountain to supplement before going to our movie. Ultimately, Laurel was better, and I'll remember just go to Laurel location or maybe elsewhere other than Hanover from now on.

The price is not worth the quality and service of the restaurant. It's very mediocre. The portions were tiny and the flavor was okay.

I just visited here again recently. The food and service was great! I love the chicken wrap with extra chili jam and the mashed potatoes. It's so good. I wish they had nando's all over the country

A good place to stop for lunch at Arundel Mills. Lots of good options for chicken (and vegetarian choices) including sandwiches, wraps, bowls, and salads.

Since I was in the area, I have always wanted to check out nandos. I liked how this one was in the shopping mall food court. My family and I decided to get the half chicken with a side of the rice and the garlic bread. The rice was alright but the garlic bread was absolutely delicious! It was crunchy yet soft so the texture was amazing and the amount of garlic on there was the right amount. We went with medium spicy on the chicken but I wish I got it a little spicier. The chicken was cooked perfectly as it was still very juicy! I also enjoyed the sauces they had available to pair with it. Overall, it was pretty good and I enjoyed how filling it was!

The awning outside needs refurbishment and inside furniture is not updated. It's dark inside, almost like a night club. Perhaps it is sometimes. I did not like the decor, it was a little run down and honestly did not match up to the prices. The service was also disappointing. I felt that staff lacked a bit of professionalism and they rarely checked on us. The plates are huge. That is a plus. My partner ordered the goat and I tried the red snapper. I think one plate is big enough to share. I like the spinach, but everything needed a bit of salt. While the red snapper was coated in a lovely tomato and red pepper gravy, I felt it made the crispyness of the fried fish disappear and it was kind of soggy. Maybe you can ask for the gravy on the side. The food is not bad, but given the physical establishment and the service I wouldn't return.

Our waiter was so charismatic, helpful, and kind. He even turned up the music in our corner of the restaurant upon request! The food was generally good, just a bit on the drier end. Even the stew wasn't really soupy. So if you were trying to mix some rice with some stew, you basically got cake on your plate. Regardless, everything was seasoned to absolute perfection. Also, don't know if this matters but it may matter to some- though this is an East African Restaurant, the menu is slightly more Kenyan than Ugandan. Something to keep in your expectations when visiting!

All have been 3-4 stars (even the ones I hadn't reviewed). A friend claimed she got food poisoning from the Wheaton Mall location, which surprised me as the food quality is high, but maybe that location fell short. I prefer some other locations over Wheaton Mall one. As for the Laurel location, this one is my favorite, and I've been somewhat often. I've never had any significant issue with them. The food quality is great. I'll get a 1/4 or 1/2 chicken with 2 sides like redskin mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts, corn, fries, bread, etc. Staff is relatively nice here. I talked to the manager a couple of times about a couple of minor things, and manager is good here. One time in July 2025, I went for Mandela Day, and it was a madhouse as it was a free 1/4 chicken with fries. I was patient as I waited a while as they had dozens of people wanting the free chicken that Friday evening. My girlfriend was sadly ill that weekend; so I bon appetited on my own. Nando's reward program got worse; so I'm less motivated to schlep to Laurel just to get Nando's. However, if I was going to go with Nando's, I'd go with this one as Arundel Mills let me down last time. Service & food is always top notch at the Laurel location.

There are some gorgeous pieces of beaded jewelry, artwork, clothing, and more in this store. This is an authentic African collection store so you can find just about anything that you'd like that will relate to your African roots. Mr. Kwame was really pleasant, friendly, he engaged his customers, and he just innately knew what we liked or what he thought would be pretty on us. Blue is my favorite color and he picked out this wonderful dress and I fell in love with it instantly. It fits well, has pockets, and a belt to match. My daughter came into the store and before she could begin to browse, he took one look at her, pulled the mannequin inside, and removed the dress from it. He gave it to her with a humble, rather gorgeous smile, and said, "This was made just for you." She turned to see that it was the dress from the mannequin and once again the words, "I love it!," were squeaked into the air. She went to the fitting room to try it on and it fit very well. So we bought it! She wore the dress right out of the store. I changed into mine later and pinned my hair up with the beaded hair pin. Mrs. Sandy got the orange and yellow dress with a bracelet. She absolutely loved that too. You cannot go wrong in this store. I really thought that he was not going to have anything to fit me because I have such large bosoms, however he did. It surprised me. I highly recommend this establishment. Tell Mr. Kwame that the "Shawn, Lady in Blue" sent you. LoL! 5 Stars.

They were out of boneless chicken, so we pivoted to a half chicken... only to be told they were out of that too. Then it turned out they did have it. We ordered the hummus appetizer and got the side portion instead, which meant another trip to the counter to sort it out. We ordered medium peri peri sauce and got something noticeably spicier. Too tired and hungry to send it back, we just ate it... and the meal just didn't hit the way Nando's usually does. The mushy peas we'd been looking forward to aren't even on the menu anymore, which was its own small disappointment. On the bright side, I ordered a 5 oz glass of wine and got what looked like a double pour. Not complaining... but it does sum up the vibe. The staff seemed indifferent, whether it was end-of-night fatigue or just an off-night, hard to say. Our visit coincided with restaurant week and had a pre-fixe menu for $65/pp. Our server was gracious enough to tell us about the other specials available but I decided that I would be fine with the restaurant week menu. For my starter, I enjoyed the oxtail patties and a mango basil smash. The entree was shrimp creole with focaccia bread that I graciously used for sopping up the delicious sauce that hugged the shrimp. Rounding out the meal, I chose the rum cake. None of my items disappointed. I found each to be an appropriate serving and shareable. The coco bread was complimentary and the flecks of salt were satisfying. I enjoyed a second cocktail and chose the Sorel Rickey. It was a hibiscus flavored, rum enhanced, and kissed by lime kinda drink. The manager made her rounds and was very personable. The other guests were watching the dishes being presented to the various tables and you could tell that it made one, a bit eager for their own food or a return visit. I was surprised that there isn't a specialty drink featuring each base liquor. I often gravitate to vodka, and feel the rum I had last night. The food . . . As always, I order a lot. I want to try all the recommendations and then some. Starting with the tuna was lovely. I was surprised by how well the fish stood-up to the sauce. Avocado and tuna is a classic pairing, and I did enjoy the ideal touch of ever so thinly sliced onion. Next arrived the famous Hoe Crab. It was nice enough, but there was an imbalance with the size of the cakes and the portion of the crab served. The sauce didn't add or diminish the dish. That's not a good thing. Ben's Bowl came next, and I think this is an ode to Ben's Chili Bowl, but after having the dish, I think I'm completely off-base. There was so much going on with these covered "fritter-like" bites, my brain was confused, and that was confirmed by my mouth. The curry did waken my olfactory nerves. It's a convenient bite, but in my mouth it all turned to mush with very little standing out. I mean was it beef? lamb? A heads-on shrimp dish came out, but I didn't try it. I mention it's heads-on because one person in my party was distraught by the presentation; I thought it looked beautiful. I was very excited to try the Curry Branzino. I did listen carefully to the server's description of the dish, but I was still surprised by the bones in the dish. The same traumatized diner in my party refused to try it. The fish was cooked perfectly, the skin had an exciting crunch. It was worthy, although the pond of sauce overwhelmed the dish a bit. I also don't remember the Callaloo in the dish. I think it came with a highly-seasoned rice and peas side. I specifically use highly-seasoned because I believe there's seasoning, and then there's salty. The BBQ Greens were a complete miss for me. Maroon's coconut greens set the bar. Maroon is also the reason I didn't order steak at Dōgon, IYKYK. I am ruined for life, and will probably never enjoy another steak like the absolute transcendece that is steak at Maroon. I am probably not like most people, but I don't like mushy greens. This dish stepped across the line between done and overcooked. I also think something's missing from the "BBQ" Greens -- perhaps an element of smoke? more acid? I also think the portion is way off with this dish. Thank goodness the Chicken and Rice came next, although I'm confused about Jollof Rice. This chicken was the star of the night. Charred and grilled to perfection, tender but still chewy. The chicken is the way to go! I've heard so much about Jollof Rice, but I don't get it. What I had last night was a seasoned, salty version of dirty rice. I guess I'm comparing this rice to the various versions of peas and rice, and rice and peas I've had from throughout the Caribbean and the Americas. Perhaps my expectation was too high. We finished the night with Rum Cake. Thank goodness I asked if this was like a traditional Jamaican Rum Cake. It's also nothing like the famous Tortuga Rum Cake I've eaten often in the Bahamas. This dessert does hold its own. It's a light, delicious cake with a stunning and delightful crust. I'm thrilled I've supported Chef Kwame Onwuachi across his journey. Last night wasn't a 10/10, but I thoroughly enjoyed this moody spot full of attractive, diverse people, and would do it again.
