My go-to Cava. The employees working the line are very nice and efficient, and the food is always a hit. I think I make the best greens + grains bowl because it's hard not to eat it all in one sitting lol but the ingredients always taste fresh and healthy. I like how much you can customize your bowl to fit your tastes and dietary needs. Also love the different kinds of sauces you can get. It does get busy around lunchtime (and I mean almost all the seating is taken) so best to go at off peak hours like later in the evening so you're not waiting in line for long. read more

Came here for a quick lunch. Cava is what I like to call a higher caliber Chipotle. The same assembly line for prep, but the ingredients are a little more upscale, but not by much. Start off with greens/salad, then rice choice, meat/vegetarian protein options, and toppings. They also have dessert options such as cookies and fountain juices, that are just okay. I got the rice/chicken/corn/salsa/cucumber/topped with crazy feta bowl. The staff were pleasant and quick to get the orders out in a decent time. They have ample seating to enjoy your food in store, if you wish. The bowl was ok. It seems that the quality is a bit off now. It's a build your own type of establishment however, they do have some of their specials already built out that you can customize. I'm a huge fan of the steak and feta wrap. Talk about a flavor explosion! It is already the perfect combo without the need to adjust any of the ingredients The line can get long inside but you have the option to order ahead and your food is ready in about 10 minutes or less. We tried this place on a late Summer Friday evening for dinner. We haven't been to one in years. We had the bowls and we were very impressed. They were very fresh and tasted really good. The portion size is good relations to the price. The drink options are ok with very limited canned or bottled drinks from Maine Root. The Main Root fountain options were nice with sodas and teas. The counter service was good and not a very long wait. Downside ... they do need to give the dining area a little more attention. Many table tops were soiled and they were lacking some utensils. The napkins are terrible. Very flimsy and cheap. Also, the AC was blasting and I was freezing in my seat. We will try the CAVAs in other DMV locations with higher ratings. My first experience with this Cava was 3 stars, based on the service walking through the line to create our own bowl we felt very rushed & the quality of the food was lacking- this visit, ordering via the app, wasn't any better, mainly because we felt again the location didn't take the time to make quality bowls. We ordered 4 custom bowls- at first glance, it was a toss up for which bowls were missing ingredients and which bowls just had very skimpy ingredients- for my bowl (half greens/grains) they didn't forget the greens, but basically they did because the service was so minimal- for my husband's bowl they forgot the sauce toppings- again, not impressed with this location- not worth the visit if the food is missing or low quality- we do love Cava, and will make the trip to the Columbia, MD location. read more

I can't believe I left CAVA to go to Chipotle!? That is unheard of for me. I've always enjoyed CAVA and never had a bad experience before. But now that I think about it, most of the less-than-great experiences I've heard of seem to happen on the East Coast. Considering this is where CAVA started, you'd think they'd have the formula perfected here. Honestly, they could learn a lot from their California locations, which consistently deliver a pleasant, welcoming experience. Today was so disappointing that I chose not to order anything at all. Stopping here on the way to the airport ended up being a waste of time. Customer service really matters, and this location fell short. I will say there was a young also at the register who was really sweet. The guy on the rice and the girls on the meat and veggies all need a lesson in customer service. I absolutely fell in LOVE with cava, unfortunately this location is NOT IT. Maybe it's because it's near the mall but it's always something. Lines out the door, out of steak CONSTANTLY, out of garlic dressing CONSTANTLY, they don't offer or even give you the free pita and never knew they gave pita with meals until I ordered on door dash. This location needs help. Me and my partner went to this location three times this week (maybe a lot but healthy alternative compared to other chains) and we literally waited over 30 minutes in the store. Literally just standing in line waiting for the cashier to return. Other works just continued making bowls or cooking and ignoring the long line. I hope this location improves it would be a shame to have to go further for better quality. read more

Lately I've been feeling the need to unbig my back so I decided I would go to CAVA and get a salad and lay off of the carbs a bit. I did create your own salad option. There were plenty of green base options. I could choose between arugula, romaine, baby spinach, super greens and splendid greens. I went with the splendid greens which consisted of CAVAs mix of crisp chopped greens, romaine, radicchio, escarole, chicory-endive, and cabbage. Harissa honey chicken for my protein. For toppings I had fire roasted corn, tomato cucumber, pickled onions, persian cucumbers, crumbled feta and kalamata olives. For the dressing I went with the hot harissa vinaigrette and garlic dressing. To finish it off, I went with the Tzatziki dip. I enjoyed the salad and it was good and fulfilling. read more

I am a bigggg Cava fan. I'm patiently (aka impatiently) waiting for the day that Minneapolis will get a Cava. But until then, I'll just have to go to Cava anytime I get the chance. Being in the DC area for the week, I knew I had to stop by. I came here on my way to my hotel after landing in BWI. It was late and almost their closing time, so I felt bad coming in when I'm sure they were ready to wrap up, but man was I hungry. Luckily, despite being close to close, the staff were all more than helpful and happy to make my bowl. I got the avocado lentil (I think that's what it's called) bowl with falafel. I had to wait a bit to get the falafel since they were out and had to make more, but it really wasn't too bad. Maybe eight minutes max. When I went to check out, the cashier let me know my bowl was on the house since I had to wait. WHAT!! I was stunned since I didn't wait very long, but he insisted I take it for free. He even gave me a soft drink for free too!!! He was so sweet, I really appreciated his kindness even though I didn't wait very long. Awesome customer service!!! I have driven by this restaurant in many locations, was always curious, but never tried it; at least, not until, it was highly recommended with a similarity drawn to Chipotle's bowl with a Mediterranean twist. I tried it for the first time a few weeks ago and knew I would return. Not only is it filling, but also possibly healthy, if some of the additions are avoided. It is flavorful and leaves me satiated without feeling overly full. This location is superficially clean, so I cannot make further assertions beyond visual inspection. In comparison to other assembly line set ups such as this, the serving station is neat and clean, which is nice to see. The staff members are efficient. This location gives this brand a bad name. We typically love CAVA, but it seems like the employees here aren't trained well or held to any high standards. Didn't seem to know what to put in the bowls we ordered right off the menu. When my husband went back to ask if a missing ingredient or two could be added the manager standing by said, "oh sure, yeah, they don't know..." ?!? Then when we went to sit down, couldn't find one table that actually looked clean enough -- they had that sticky, filmy, smeared over look like nobody really tried to clean it. (The glass door at the entrance was pretty uninviting too.) So we took the bowls home, and the food itself seemed fine, but when the environment isn't too clean you wonder about the food too. read more

When we told them what happened, the seemed like we were burdening them. And I was charged for extra rice for some reason on my receipt. Well people I haven't been in this area since 2020 and Covid. That was my first time trying Cava. I was suitably impressed then and I'm not disappointed this time. As a matter of fact, I got the "itis" this time. I had the Harissa Honey Chicken Bowl and it was great. Perfect blend of flavors. I mixed all the drinks together for a super refreshing beverage. Then I ordered a Falafel Bowl to go. That was what I had tried in 2020. Yah....definitely a tasty way to end the day. read more

I was slightly disappointed today with my chicken bowl... the yellow rice was hard like hard hard. I had to scrape my topping off in order to eat the food I just paid $11.15 for. So yeah I am pissed. I know they knew this rice was hard before serving it. If it wasn't cold I would have returned the bowl. read more

I love cava food. Just only in store when you can watch them prepare your order. Today's online orders and in store pickup was a waste. I ordered my food at 11:50am for a 12:00pm pick up and arrived at the restaurant at 12:15. Due to the high volume demand at the time, my food wasn't ready. I waited an additional 5 minutes and at that point the person who did an in store order was paying for their food. Therefore I didn't see the connivence in doing a pick up order. On top of the order taking a while, they messed up my order. I requested lentils and wontons strips and neither were in my bowl. That's the second time I've placed a pick up order for several items to be left off. I'll just do in store orders from here on out. read more

It was the first time we (me, my husband, and our teenage daughter) have been to a CAVA, so we thought we'd give it a try. The dining area was pretty empty when we arrived so we took some time ordering. I am a vegetarian so sometimes it takes a few to figure it out. I saw that there was a falafel bowl so I ordered that. The young lady taking the order asked if I wanted everything on it, I said no and told her what I wanted her to hold. She told me that the toppings I wanted to hold are down the line. As soon as she took the rest of the orders it seemed like they were in a hurry and were pushing is through fast. The next lady proceeded to put all the topping on it. I had to tell her no I don't want that. She stared at me confused and removed the toppings I didn't want and she didn't ask about. On to the third guy, he proceeded to go back and put those toppings on that I had already said not to. It was pretty ridiculous to have to say no three times to three different people standing right next to each other. Oh and I was only given two small falafels for the entire bowl. Finally we get to the register and the young guy kept rolling his eyes at us and had a freaking attitude, rang us up without asking if we wanted anything to drink. My husband said that we wanted two drinks. He huffed and had to redo the order to add on the drinks. My husband also asked for a side of pita chips. We pay and sit down. No receipt and no pita chips. They seemed to boost the music when more people were coming in. Then they started playing different music on top of the music already playing. It was very much of sensory overload for both me and my husband. The bathroom was also disgusting with toilet paper all over the floor and urine on the seat. The final things that I felt was incredibly rude was one of the staff was taking out the garbage which was close to us. It really isn't that difficult to get a bag out of the bin. I was at that time on the phone with my very pregnant daughter which we check in with daily. The girl was banging the garbage can unnecessarily like she was purposefully being annoying. She didn't act like that until I told my daughter how rude the staff was and how it was not cool how they were trying to rush us out of the line. I imagine she heard what I said. I was initially greeted with some poor service and a unfriendly worker. I received a somewhat small portion of everything, and all of the chicken was burnt. I love Cava it is one of my favorite chain restaurants. I have been to this specific location quite a few times and have had very few issues. The workers are always friendly and fast. The ingredients are always fresh. They keep this location clean. They almost always have all of the different toppings available. Recently I came in and they did not have the harissa spread or romaine lettuce. Try their drinks they make many of them in house and they are so good! The manager here was very awful. I had purchased a meal, drink and pita chips. When I went hope I looked inside my bag and there were no pita chips. I checked my bag for the receipt and they never gave me one. I drove all the way back and told them politely that I purchased a meal, drink and pita chips. Unfortunately when I went back the manager refused to give me the pita chips without my receipt. I told him they never gave it to me and that the lady right there helped me with my order and the boy right there rang me up. The lady even said I ordered the pita chips. But the manager refused to give me the pita chips. So I ended up purchasing the chips and guess what he still did not give me a receipt. He was very rude and if the policy is to show your receipt then they should be giving the receipts to everyone who makes a purchase. Do better!! read more

I eat Cava entirely too much but I love it! This location is always super super busy so I try to go when they first open around 10:45. The staff is pretty quick although they have an in person line and online orders that never end. I always get a salad with rice and every topping they have. Not a huge fan of the meat here so I always get the roasted vegetables which are delicious. The Greek vinaigrette dressing is my favorite and I always get a side of pita chips. They are amazing if you get them straight out of the fryer. If they have been sitting for a while they are too crunch and it isn't the same. I definitely recommend trying Cava if you haven't already. I consider it healthier than some of it's neighbors. read more
