    Nem Nuong Rolls
    Bryan V.

Nem nuong is one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes and this place does it right. The nem nuong is grilled and seasoned well. The other fillings in the spring roll complements the pork well. The dipping sauce is sweet, savory, and delicious... it reminds me of Brodard's famous orange sauce! If I'm ever in the mood for a filling snack I'll definitely stop by here and pick up some nem nuong spring rolls.

I ordered on the phone a day before event and they were able to accommodate my order. Accepts Credit cards. Pricing varies due to inflation, but $108 for 50 rolls. The presentation on wrapping was done beautifully. Very clean and Neat, I appreciated the extra spicy sauce and garnishes for the spicy lovers. The portion is pretty big, you can probably get away with cutting it in half for parties & gatherings. I love how neatly its rolled and the pickled veggies and fresh lettuce. The crispy roll remains crunchy and nem nuong was seasoned and big chunk of meat. The quality is definitely better than Bodard to me. As for the sauce, Bodard wins on this one. The sauce made by Nem Nuong & Rolls is a little more sweeter...and thicker. Not sure if its because I'm use to Bodard's sauce.

Came here for a togo order, it is mostly for togo orders there are a couple of tables in the place. The nem nuong roll was fabulous, we ate it a few hours later and it was still incredibly good. Next time we should try some more items, but also would definitely come back for these rolls.

First time trying Nem Noung was when Nem Noung & Rolls just opened 2 years ago. I love exploring new things. I was not disappointed and quite frankly, these were delicious. However, there was a problem. I spent enormous time with cashier unnecessarily trying to figure out how to order. The menu price was confusing. They listed single roll price but had to buy 3 at a time. So, I contacted them on Facebook to compare the menu at Nem Noung & Rolls in Los Angeles. "Hey, look at this. As a customer, it's better to tell us up front on your true price." I told them I'm not coming back until the menu is fixed. So here I am, just few days before the end of year 2020. I found an ad in Yelp app that they deliver. Thank goodness, the menu is updated to make sense. Not just that, they allow mixed order. Back then, I asked my Vietnamese friends on how to eat them. Right, take off the wrapper like the a piece of reminder says. Order was not quick because they're made to order. I love freshly made rolls. If this is not during Covid-19 Pandemic, I would rather order catering for my little picnic in the park to share with friends. Because the dining room is a little too small.

AMAZING! A whole shop dedicated to quality spring rolls! They have a sign on the outside with all of their options and we decided to go with the ones with no rice noodles. We ordered 3 orders (comes with 3 rolls each) of the 1. Nem Nuong Rolls (grilled pork, fried egg roll wrap and green lettuce) and 4. Summer Rolls (Chinese sausage, eggs, jicama and basil). NOTE: they are each individually wrapped with a plastic wrap so don't forget to remove it prior to eating! I honestly cannot choose between the two! Both of them had a great balance between the meat and what they paired it with. The Nem Nuong was crunchy and the sauce was so complimenting! We ended up using the sauce for the Summer Rolls as well, which originally came with a peanut butter Hoisin sauce. Overall, definitely would stop by more if I found it earlier and stayed longer in Texas.

I was excited to see a restaurant sell on the go rolls and have always wanted to try this place. They have solid rolls. I ordered the nem nuong, chao tom, and bo bia rolls and my least favorite was the bo bia because it had too much jicama. I think for nem nướng I would still prefer Brodard or Thuan Kieu but you can check this place out if you want a variety of choices.

There's only one table to eat. It's very small. More of a take out kind of place. Small menu. Quickly served. They offer catering trays too! Will be back!

    Spring Rolls

We came to this place based on the recommendations. The place looks clean and the decor is basic, sitting for only 6 people. A majority of clients must take food 'To go'. The rolls are excellent, fresh and tasty. Be aware that the dishes on the menu are not always available: today only rolls. We are told that " he did not do anything with rice or noodles today " . I was planning to have some fried rice... it will be rolls.

Overall delicious nem nuong as it should be. Made to order so don't bother calling ahead because they won't make it till you get there. It's a pretty simple place inside, not many on the menu, as it should be. Time to make for a small order is decent; take about the same amount of time making it at home yourself. Pretty expensive in my opinion for what I'm used to paying but for the area, it's alright. Plenty of parking and clean inside with like two tables and a few chairs. Cash only for any orders under $10. No face mask required.

Nem Nuong Rolls. Please remember to remove the inner plastic wrap for each roll. I think I ate a part of it. Lol.

I wanted to try something new, and I had this spot bookmarked for awhile. They specialize in Nem nuong rolls, which I can only describe as an inside out egg roll combined with a spring roll. I enjoyed all the flavor and texture contrasts inside this roll, which included their marinated pork sausage, crispy egg roll wrapper stick, and veggies. These rolls also came with a thick souplike sauce and sambal, which made these rolls more fun to eat. The only thing I would ask if they could wrap each roll with more plastic wrap so I can eat it more easily in the car. I literally didn't know sometimes if I was eating the rice paper roll or plastic wrap, because the plastic wrap was so minimal. Overall, I enjoyed these rolls and look forward to coming back to try their other rolls, sides, and entrees. Come check them out.

The filling is placed in a pan and then a thin layer of batter made with tumeric and coconut milk yellow batter is poured on top. You wrap the lettuce around the bánh xèo/bánh khọt and dip it in the fish sauce. I got the bánh khọt and the bò né. Bánh khọt is like a mini, thicker version of bánh xèo and came with nine pieces. Their bánh khọt was crispy, sweet and savory, and went well with the fish sauce. Although the portions initally look small, they are very filling. The bò né was filling and sizzling when it came out. It also came with a side of salad. The meat was tender. I really liked the bánh khọt and would definitely come back for them. It's nice having an authentic Vietnamese restaurant in our area, close to us, so we don't have to make the trek to Bellaire every time we crave some Viet food!

I couldn't have been more wrong. Xeo Yum (#1) as it turns out is one of the most legit Vietnamese places in Midtown serving up some of the city's best banh xeo and banh khot. Located inside of a Food Hall (#2) in the back corner, they have low-key become a destination and without question, the most popular stall in the entire place. The fan base didn't happen overnight but is a direct result of Chef Cuong Nguyen's commitment to quality Vietnamese fare. Banh Xeo is their signature item, which is also known as a sizzling crepe or pancake made of rice flour, tumeric, and coconut milk. The banh xeo holds well, is perfectly crispy, and is nicely stuffed with an assortment of beans sprouts, shrimp, and some of the best grilled pork belly I've had. Another specialty item that doesn't get enough mention is their banh khot, which is similar but has a mini muffin / cupcake like appearance made in a specialty cast iron mold. This version is wonderfully crispy and pairs perfectly with fresh greens and fish sauce with some funk. It is my favorite item here. Some have argued they also serve one of the best bo ne (#3), the Vietnamese version of steak and eggs served in a skillet. The chunks of beef are nice and tender with just a tad of char, served with two fried eggs, and a banh mi baguette with a mix of butter and spare. Normally I think of spam or sausage included with the meats, but Chef Cuong's spin is with cherry tomatoes. It's a different approach and I'm not mad at it. Folks not looking for this can shoot for bo luc lac, aka shaking beef, which is also recommended. The staff here is sweet, hard-working, and very friendly. They also make a mean Vietnamese coffee and offer free iced self-serve water. The prices are what I would expect in a Midtown food hall, and there's plenty of seating. Anyone checking out the food hall need to make Xeo Yum as part of their eating itinerary. __________ (#1) A play on the Vietnamese sizzling crepe, Banh "xeo" and yum" (#2) Previously the Conservatory and now Stestí Food Hall. When I arrived there was nobody dining in the restaurant, that was a bit worrying, but I figured it was a bit early for the dinner crowd and late for the lunch crowd. Food & Drink - 4.5* First up was the noodles, I enjoyed them, but I wouldn't say the hype I'd heard about from some others was there. They had nice flavor, but there just wasn't anything "special." 3.5* Then it was on to the crawfish, and my oh my. Superb, the flavor is delicious and unique. This more than made up for the noodles dish. The potato and corn was good too. Service - 5* Solid. When I first arrived the owner was quietly reading a newspaper and eating his own lunch. He paused to greet me and advised that I could sit anywhere. He provided water and adequate time to determine what I wanted to order. The food came out quickly and he checked in a few times to make sure everything was ok. As time went by, the crowd of folks showing up increased quite a bit and he still managed to check in on tables consistently. Pricing - 4* This is where it was odd. Always subjective but I found the noodles to be overpriced for not only the size but what I felt was a pretty simple dish. The crawfish on the other hand was priced very competitively and made up for the overpriced noodles. I provided pics of the menu for someone to make their own assessment but in general I thought many of the dishes were pricier than they probably should be. I know inflation is certainly killing many businesses and consumers but even these felt a bit off. Overall - 4.5* This is definitely going to be one of my go tos for crawfish when in the area. The flavor is fantastic, the pricing is good, the size of them were solid. There are a couple of other dishes I may try on the next visit. The restaurant is clean, the owner is very nice, and it's a nice low key space to just enjoy a good meal with friends or family.

The guy who answered the phone wasn't the friendliest, but I decided to roll the dice anyway, and I'm glad I did because the food was solid. We started with the egg rolls. At $10.95 for five pieces, I thought they were a little pricey. They came out piping hot and fresh from the fryer with a great crunch, and the fish sauce was delicious. My only complaint was the lettuce--they only gave us one piece. What am I supposed to do with one piece of lettuce? The Canh Chua Tôm had the perfect level of sourness, exactly how I like it. The shrimp were a little overcooked, but the medium-sized bowl was a generous portion. The Cá Kho Tộ was cooked perfectly.
