Great menu with many vegan and gluten free choices. The food and drinks were excellent and we will definitely return.

3/27/18 Nectarine Grove was quick to respond to my initial review. Since it was somewhat bleak, I was offered a complimentary meal. There was no request to update the review. Last time we went for dinner. I had a feeling this was more of a brunch place, so that's what we tried. We ordered the bacon breakfast tacos and the stuffed French toast. Both of which were decent. The gluten free bread that they use is basically corn bread. It gives it a decent flavor and texture. The bacon tacos we good. The eggs were cooked well. The overall vibe is expensive food that is just ok. Not bad, not memorable. There were a few other things we need to to try to get the whole picture. We ordered a berry happy smoothie and a chai tea latte. The smoothie was for sure the best thing we sampled. You have to love dates in a smoothie. The chai tea, however, was by far the worst chai tea I've ever had the displeasure of trying. Basically water and cinnamon. I tried to force it down but it got thrown away. Wasted 5 dollars In summary, if we had a group of friends with different special diets, we would consider going. Otherwise, there is better options for everything they offer in Encinitas 3/21/18 Marginal at first impression, but I'd be willing to try more food to have a better experience. Every single menu item we ordered was DELICIOUS! The fact that the entire menu is a gluten-free paradise also added to extreme comfort when ordering. You'd think they were giving the food out for free here the way the lines have been forming. Nectarine Grove recently cannonballed into this location and the splash hasn't subsided at all yet. Every time I cruise by it resembles a beer bar that's tapping Pliny The Younger. The hype surrounding Nectarine Grove is definitely real though. It's a sprawling menu of incredible food all mostly made with healthier alternatives to ingredients. There's everything from paleo pizzas to plantain crusted chicken and waffles. It's almost hard to decide even in the long line you'll likely have to wait in. I went with a chicken fajita bowl and it was beyond delicious. It had a butternut squash noodle base with seasoned sweet potatoes, black beans, bell peppers, spinach, and cilantro. Topped with a cashew cream finish, it was filling and super flavorful while satisfying the paleo-ish diet that I'm doing my best to adhere to. They're very accommodating to however you're trying to eat and that to me is probably the most amazing thing about this place. The only downside is the line, but you can't be mad at a place for being popular. Just more time to mill over what you're going to order I guess! read more

After my initial review, I was contacted by Taylor P. (I apologize in advance if Taylor is a Male) regarding my issue with the size of our Acai bowls. She apologized that their team members were unaccommodating in the situation and assured us that the size of the Acai bowl was larger than what was portrayed in the photo I provided. She appreciated the fact that we took the time to contact them to address the matter. She offered us 2 complimentary Acai bowls if we would give Nectarine another chance. At first I really was just over it, but my mom had a craving for one of their pizzas and I had a craving for their Grove Salad. We figured what the heck, at least we will get 2 complimentary Acai bowls out of it. I am glad we did give them the opportunity to make it right. The pizza and salad was delicious, which reminded us why we were patroning their in the first place. The Acai bowls were the size we remember and couldn't be more content. The food is great and refreshing for someone with dietary restrictions. Their smoothies are good and real, not loaded with puree or replacements for real ingredients. Even their baked goods are great, and everything is gluten-free! I will say the service is a bit slow, which I imagine is working out kinks from being new. There's been more than one occasion where a simple order fell through the cracks as well. But their food is worth the return trip, for sure. read more

In my humble opinion, what separates the best restaurants that serve gluten-free pizza from the rest is the ability to make the crust crisp without burning or overcooking the toppings. What may seem like such a simple task is one that often can go very wrong. Luckily, that was not the case here. The crust was crisp and slightly browned, without being burnt, and the chicken and other toppings were not at all overcooked and dry. And this pizza was LOADED with toppings including the bbq chicken, pineapple, red onion and cilantro. I'll admit, the crust may not be for everyone as it was thicker, almost of a texture similar to cornbread. But, I really enjoyed it, and felt it paired perfectly with the rest of the pizza. Flavors were on point with the smokiness of the bbq sauce pairing with the sweetness of the pineapple, and the pungent flavor of the red onion. If I had to come up with any issues, it would be that the pineapple, in my opinion, is not quite the perfect flavor I would like on my bbq chicken pizza. And, though the cost of $24 for a whole pizza may seem a little bit expensive, it definitely kept me full for multiple meals and I'd say it was well worth the price. There are so many amazing words to be said about this place. For starters, if you have a gluten allergy like myself, well this is your new home. I didn't need to tell them to make a note in my order because it's a safe kitchen and contamination free! BEAUTIFUL. My fiancé and I went the other night and I got the classic burger & he for the chimichurri bowl....1. The burger bun was TO DIE...literally so good and not crappy like basically everywhere else that offers a GF bun. And it came with a special sauce that didn't make my stomach die and baked sweet potato fries that make my heart sing. The chimichurri bowl took me to flavor town (guy watch out) wish I could have had more than one bite, but I blinked and my fiancé as licking the bowl. 2. I'm definitely getting the crispy chicken salad next time bc i can't even remember the last time I had crispy chicken! 3. The menu is filled with lots of options like breakfast until 11am, avocado toast, sandwiches, wraps, tacos, a burger, paleo items, gluten free pizza, smoothies, and coffee drinks! This place was amazing! The food was delicious and they are entirely gluten-free! It was so nice for myself and the other gf member of our party to order with abandon! The plantain crusted fried chicken sandwich was fabulous and the house made chai was cinnamon filled and fantastic. Everyone at the place was so nice and very helpful with other allergies. The patio was beautiful and the kids loved watching the train go through as they sipped on smoothies. We brought home a cinnamon roll for breakfast the next day and it was killer! Since I've been dairy and fried food free, life's been a bitch ... until I went to Nectarine Grove where their fried chicken salad ( in coconut oil) breaded in plantains kick ass salad and WTF Palio pizza with dairy feee cheese came to the rescue. This place was delicious! I had my work lunch meeting here today, and I was skeptical at first. But I am so glad my boss chose this place! I ordered the chicken sammie with a side of fries. He ordered the chicken and waffles. For the sake of being professional, I refrained from taking photos, but I wish I would have. It's really a cute little place! It's mainly outdoor seating with the fake grass and heaters to keep you warm. It is definitely a popular place. We ordered the chicken because of the "plantain crusted" which just sounded good and it was. It was everything you'd want in a chicken sandwich...it was crispy and moist, seasoned to compliment the pickle and tomato. Dunking it into the bbq sauce was an added tastebud explosion! The fries were delicious, crispy and tender. My boss had equal praise for his chicken and waffles. Needless to say, we cleaned off our plates quickly. So grateful for this place! My 9year old daughter and I both have ceiliac disease. This was the first time since her diagnosis that we were all able to eat out as a family TOGETHER without worrying about cross contamination from gluten! Her and my husband split the barbecue chicken pizza, my two other boys split a full pepperoni pizza and I had a burger and fries. All of which were absolutely amazing! This is the first time neither of us were concerned about getting sick after we ate. All of the desserts were labeled (paleo, keto, vegan, gluten free, dairy free) and had all the ingredients listed, just in case of other food sensitivities. Thank you so much for safe space for all of those who are truly sensitive to certain foods! It was absolutely worth the 40 minute drive from inland San Diego! We will be back! read more

Used to love this place. The gluten free food was amazing. But the last 2 times I've come the food came out way late and after most people in line behind me. And when I asked about it the girl give such and attitude like I'm bothering them. When I finally get my food it's cold. Today was the last time I'll do that. We had to ask twice about our food as others that came after us kept getting there's and the snotty little brat told me my husband already asked about it once. Guess you're only allowed to check on your late cold food once and no more. To the owners- get some better workers. Things aren't that desperate that you have to pay (and get my tip) for nasty snotty attitude and service. Hire better people and don't ask for my tip as i pay. I'll tip at the table if service is good. And then on top of that awful service the cold food. Please go back to how you used to do things a year ago when service was friendly and food was hot and yummy. Guess I have to find a new gluten free place. so sad read more
