Instagram wife and gaming husband's dream come true

Came for the brews next door and wondered on this side following the lights and so glad I did! This place is a hipster girl neighbor cocktail bar next to the Crooked Run brews. I had a $5 Whisky Sour for happy hour and it was the jam. They have plenty of seating and have fun actys like the trivia. Oh and look at the ambiance. Instagram girls or Nova take note!

After stuffing my face with a biscuit sandwich and fries it felt like it was only right to get a juice on the way out. It's healthy and it's refreshing so why not???? Right??? Located in the same space as Daybreak, you can get a juice, a mimosa or a beer all in the same place. I got a Crisp and Crisp it was!!!! It combination of watermelon, green apple, mint and lemon. Sure enough you could taste all the ingredients too!!! So fresh that if I had not watched her pull on the tap and watch the juice flow into my cup, I would have thought she juiced it fresh while I waited. The location is lovely, well lit, wide open spaces with plenty of seating. They co-share a space with Daybreak so you can juice and eat at the same time. I did notice a stage in the corner so they may have live performances and such in the future. Looks like from the sign out front they have brunch too!!! It's not just a juice spot though, let me be clear. I like to think its an all inclusive bevy spot since you can get a juice, a mimosa and a beer. Cheers to that!!

I understand wearing a mask sucks. I do it while caring for patients up to 12 hours a day....but seriously wear your mask while you are in food prep areas! Love the food, atmosphere, concept; I've been here many times and enjoy it. Would NOT recommend during COVID.

Blaze and Watermelon Crisp mimosas

Throughly impressed!! There's a unique variety of cocktails and mimosas to choose from. We tried the Watermelon Crisp and Blaze mimosas...both were refreshingly delicious. The bartenders are top tier. I've never seen a drink smoker before, but hello Old & New. I love that it's situated next to @DayBreak, drinks and brunch all in one....definitely looking forward to next time.

Nectar is my go-to bar in Sterling. Not only do they offer a variety of beers & wines, they also make fantastic cocktails. Nearly all the drinks are beautiful (picture worthy) on top of being tasty! The food is also amazing, although you have to purchase it at a separate counter from where you order the drinks (two different entities) I've tried their chicken sandwiches, pork belly sandwich and chicken wings and all were delicious. Every time my friends come out this way to visit me, I end up dragging them here. My goal is to eventually try all their cocktails. I wish they had more extended hours, they close at 10pm (last call is at 9:30pm) even on Friday's. I am also personally not a big fan of comedy/open mic nights. I accidentally came during one, one evening, when I wanted to catch up with a friend and it was hard to with a "show" going on. But I'm sure I'm in the minority (there was a large crowd) and will just avoid going on those nights in the future. Also while their menu advertises "select cocktails" on the happy hour menu, there's actually only one cocktail that's happy hour discounted which is the planter's punch!

Bold and Brave cocktail

This is a different concept for the area. It's attached to Crooked Run Brewery and next to Daybreak which is a new restaurant. All drinks here, alcoholic and non alcoholic, are based on cold pressed juiced. I tried the Bold and Brave which had tequila , watermelon, grapefruit syrup, soda and habanero shrub (shrub is a drinking vinegar). Sounds funky but it was a great combination of flavors. The space is big and service is great. I think you can bring food and drinks from Crooked Run and Senor Ramon. Overall it's a great addition to the Sterling / Ashburn area

Nectar Cocktail Bar is located next to Crooked Run Brewery. Plenty of parking. Orange Mimosa - ok Suggestion: provide a water cooler station. I was able to get water from the soda dispenser using a coffee cup.

Gin cocktail

The drinks on tap were great but I was really impressed with the hand mixed cocktails. Great drinks and very friendly service. I really enjoyed my visit.

Blood Orange Margarita

Okay I have to say, if this bar was a lot closer to where I live I would visit it more often! I love the look, I love the prices, and their mixing is on point. I order the Blood Orange Margarita on a Saturday evening as one of their specials and it was one of the best margaritas I have ever had. The price was great also, $5 and they didn't use cheap tequila either. What more can you ask for. Their specials were reasonable and they bar was clean. Everyone wore a mask and were super friendly. The best part is that it was busy and I still was attended to with professionalism and great customer service. I even got to sample some ciders (that I didn't like), but if I did I would have bought two. I will be coming back again, I just need to find a special reason to drive an hour away from home to visit Nectar again.

Is it dog friendly?

Just the outdoor seating. You can bring your food and drinks outside. There's usually a dog bowl outside too. (Outside is the picnic tables on the brewery side. It's all the same.)

The first thing that informed me that this was going to be a good first experience was being greeted at the door, simply to welcome me and inform that I would be seated soon. It's alarming just how few places provide that kind of genuine courtesy. The Monday duck confit special was excellent, and fork tender. While the wine list is not expensive, it is focused on what is good with their food. My table service from Eric also far exceeded what most restaurants provide these days. While the good and service were outstanding, there was no pretense in the decor or ambiance. Entering the restaurant felt like stepping into another place, and want you coming back for more. And yes. I will be coming back for more. Much more!

The restaurant ambience and decor even gave us fond memories of restaurants visited on our 2023 trip to Paris. The tuna tartare as a shared appetizer was delicious, as were our entrees - Trout Almondine and Duck Confit. The hardest decision of the night was actually dessert, which we would normally skip, but being our anniversary and first time at the Brasserie Royale, we indulged. The "British" (in a French restaurant?) seasonal offering of Sticky Pudding was too tempting not to try. It was excellent. The service and wine selections were equally enjoyable. It was busy on a Monday evening, so reservations are recommended. Our table for two was nestled between other small tables and it was interesting to both see and get reviews of other dishes. Overheard from the table to our right were criticisms of the squash ravioli and garlic sausage entrees. However, the table to our left was effusive about the creme brulee. We will be back. (still need to work on my food photo taking, sorry - I always remember after the dish is almost gone)

First, the hostess acted like we were an intrusion into her evening, didn't welcome us or make eye contact. She sat us at a booth, which didn't work, so she did seat us at a table. I asked for a vegetarian menu, knowing there was one, but she walked off, did not return. Our waiter was a young man, spoke very softly; we both had a difficult time hearing him. My wife ordered her drink; I asked for a few more minutes. That drink did not appear until half my meal was over, which I did not appreciate. And I had to ask 3 times to get the drink, including asking another waiter. We ordered salad and main dish; my vegetarian menu finally appeared. It just seemed both the hostess and our waiter did not care to attend to us. I do not know if we will be returning; and to top this all off, both the hostess and waiter called us 'Guys'. When two older women are sitting at the same table, we are ladies, or simply nice to see you two tonight. Please tell your wait staff to get this right. We like Bungalow Lakehouse, it is close to home, and the atmosphere is comfortable.

It comes with two patties, making it a bit too heavy, and while it had some spice, it lacked depth of flavor and had more jam than I preferred. The Brussels sprouts were heaven sent, and the hookah was very smooth. Service was good--nothing standout, but nothing negative either. Highly suggest the lychee mojito!! every person in our four-person girl group had two of these with deliciously plump fresh lychee on top of fresh mint, limes and just the right amount of rum to make you feel all warm inside! The decor was really nice too! Modern with a touch of fun and eclectic. Fortunately, my friends had already been here before, so I had plenty of good suggestions to consider. I opted for a plate that was heavy in vermicelli noodles, and upon ordering the server who took my order highly suggested that I order the woven vermicelli meal that came with lemon grass beef. I am so happy I listened to him because the dish was overflowing with delicious flavor and before I knew it, my plate was completely empty. Service was very kind, prompts and knew all the right suggestions to offer for a high quality experience. Plenty of delicious options for appetizers from classic favorites like fried spring rolls and rice paper summer rolls to savory entrées like short rib, hot pot Vietnamese noodle soups and fried rices. I can see why this place has quickly become a local favorite and why the ratings are all very positive! Lived up to the hype for sure! Thank you so much for an awesome dinner this evening! I really look forward to returning very soon.

The cozy atmosphere, stone hearth, and warm decor make it the perfect place for a date night, a special occasion, or just a great evening out. The food is outstanding. The crab dip, the housemade pasta, and the burger are all incredible -- clearly made with real care and quality ingredients. It projects an English modern cabin vibe, but with a touch on whimsy (see mustache coat hangers on booths!). The fireplace is centrally located and gives off an essence of coziness. Complimenting the ambiance, the service was great! The server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, making great recommendations. We came for brunch and ordered the breakfast burger and pork belly breakfast sandwich. We also split the avocado toast as a starter (we were starving!). The avocado toast was perfectly prepared - toast was cripsy on the outside and chewy and thick on the inside. Ample smattering of smashed avocado with the fixin's. The burger was very good and my friend said they would totally order it again. The pork belly breakfast sandwich held together perfectly despite the inside being heavy. Pork belly remained perfectly crunchy and it had a heavy helping of melted cheese that was not overpowering. Brunch was amazing and we want to go back and experience the patio when it's warmer and also some live music! Such a great vibe and good food!

The service was prompt and attentive. We started by enjoying a few of the craft cocktails, which were simply wonderful and the product of a talented and adept bartending. If your idea of a good cocktail involves slush or machines, this is probably not the place for you. I enjoyed a dirty martini, as did my youngest daughter. My oldest daughter enjoyed a French 75. All lovely and all perfectly mixed. I would return here if nothing more than the cocktails! For starters, my daughter shared the Pate De Campagne, which consisted of country style pâté, cornichons and toast points. They loved it! My wife enjoyed the Salad Verte and I loved the Roquefort Salad. Both salads were simply marvelous and went well with the freshly baked bread. On to the main event! Fo her entree, my youngest daughter had the Roasted Cornish Hen. She had never had Cornish hen before, but this particular rendition made her a fan of the dish. Perfectly cooked, juicy and savory. My older daughter enjoyed the Salmon en Croute. The salmon was perfectly cooked to the correct temp and the pastry was spot on. A lovely dish and one I will try on our next visit. My wife and I each devoured the Chicken Paillard. This is one of those dishes that is so simple, but the lemon butter knocks your socks off. If it wasn't such a lovely restaurant, I might have licked my plate. Yes....it was that good. I ate every last caper! For dessert, we shared a portion of the luxurious pistachio cheesecake. An excellent ending to an amazing meal. This charming restaurant is a jewel in the heart of Herndon. I highly recommend it for your next special occasion. We look forward to returning soon!
