I had this wool vest my mom used to wear and I had it cleaned many times down south. The color of the back was dark lavender to grey. I always thought it was the way the material was dyed. Well, I was wrong. When I had Lakewood Cleaners clean it, the colors became more vibrant and the grey is gone. The owner asked me about the color when I brought it in the first time but I just shrugged. Now I know why. She did what she did and it looks a lot better. I also come here to get my clothes fixed, hemmed, etc. She always gets it right. I don't know what I'd do without her.

Washer is pricey with price ranges from $7.75-12.75 per load. I am not sure if this is the normal price for a laundromat or not but it was cheaper when we lived in an apartment and used their washer/dryer (around $2-3 per load). Lots of machines here are out of order. The instructions to use the machines are unclear. When we tried to add coins to the dryer, the machine could not accept any more coins so we had to just start the machine for 10 mins and then moved to another machine that could accept coins. It was very inconvenient. The coin exchange machine does not always work either. The place is also kind of dirty. The owner needs to take a better care of this place. There are only two old and small chairs next to each other for people to sit on. I wish there are more chairs for people to use and not next to each other on the corner. It is very awkward to sit next to strangers in a very small space. Overall, I do not recommend this place unless you absolutely have no choice.

Then, last year I had a bridal party chiffon dress altered for my best friend's wedding and was charged $100. It was reasonable for 6 layers of chiffon to be altered and I loved the way it turned out. So this year I went back and had my wedding dress altered. The dress only needed to be hemmed and it was one layer of fabric and two layers of tulle (so not all of it had to be sewn). I was charged $450 for hemming the dress, but was quoted $200 at another place. I desperately wish I had gone back for my dress and had it altered elsewhere but at this point I was deep in the middle of wedding planning chaos. Then, unfortunately, I brought it back to the Palms to have the wedding dress cleaned. My mistake. I was quoted $220 (and an additional $60 if I wanted it boxed), but then was charged $238 when I picked the dress up. This place is robbing people. Please don't make my mistake, get quotes from other dry cleaners. I think you'll be happy that you did.
