Excellent service; quality work in removing stains ; typically garments are ready ahead of schedule

When a cleaners advertises that they can do alterations, you'd expect they can at least hem a dress. I should have be wary from the start. I brought a 100% cotton sundress in (brand new) to be hemmed. The owner pinned only one side of the dress- I was wearing the sandals I would normally be wearing with the dress - When I went to pick it up it was still too long, was dragging in the back because it was longer and it was nowhere near short enough and was uneven. The cost was $45 I asked her to redo it and she said she would but I would have to pay "half" - I decided not to continue working with her because of her refusal to fix it, and her attitude - which was not at all customer oriented. read more

Damaged Garment Dropped off a brand new sweater and got it back with numerous holes as well as discolored fabric. It looked as if it was washed with dark denim and not dry cleaned. I should have read the reviews since it looks like this may be a somewhat common occurrence. The owners would not take responsibility so therefore we have to move to a different dry cleaner. read more

I took my wedding dress here and paid just over $100. I was nervous from the start because obviously it's my wedding dress! When I got home a few days later I opened it up to show a girlfriend of mine and we noticed dirty spots in various areas that were not there when I took it in. I could also see press marks where they had steamed it. I took it back in today and showed the guy that works at the front counter the spots I was referring to and he said I only paid for a press and I didn't pay for it to be cleaned. I explained that the dirty spots were not there before and he said they weren't because he didn't see them and got irate with me. He said if I want it cleaned, I will need to pay for it. I said that's not fair because it got dirty here in your shop. He said I don't have time for this, this is a business. You need to get your **** and get the **** out. Dry cleaning is fine to do here even though I want give him my business anymore but any valuables such as a wedding dress, DO NOT TAKE IT HERE! I work in customer service and I would never run a business like that! I used to take all of my dry cleaning here and I will never go here again because of the way I was treated and cursed at. It was completely unprofessional and I inappropriate how this man acted with me! I also took a pair of pants to them a month or two prior to have them fixt the zipper and they said ok. After I got home, I noticed it was not fixed. I thought, you know, it's not worth my time so I never went back about the pants. Had I gone back, I probably would have been treated the same way as I was with my wedding dress. I should have taken the pants back and then I would have known to not take my wedding dress to them! I dropped off 10 pieces for dry cleaning. One of the shirts needed small rip repaired near the tag on the lower left of the shirt. They pinned the area on the shirt that they needed stitch, and when I picked them up a week later, they did not complete the stitch. When I initially dropped everything off, I watched her write on the ticket to do the stitch, and when I picked them up, she said they didn't do it because it wasn't on the ticket, and that I wasn't charged. But it WAS included in the price, which I had just paid probably 30 seconds before noticing they didn't complete the stitch.. I left the single shirt with them and they said to pick it up at the end of the week. They then printed me a new, separate tag, and I had already paid the cost of the alteration/stitch, so Friday would just be a "pick up." I went to pick up the shirt on Friday, with the new tag they gave me, and they said I needed to pay $7, which I had already paid on Monday when paying for the whole lot.... I told them I already paid it Monday and they said that was impossible, and they don't know how to do a prepayment. They just kept showing me their copy of the new printed ticket that said balance: $7.00. I tried to explain that it was paid on a separate ticket and they forgot to do it, but she just kept saying she would "check her CCTV cameras and let me know." over and over. I ended up having to pay twice, for a stitch they forgot to do the first time, and now have a bad experience with that cleaner. And received a call like 30 minutes after leaving and she told me again that she would "check her CCTV cameras and get back to me." I'm not really sure who has time to wait around for them to roll back through five days of recordings just for them to see I was charged for a purchase of $103.50, which included the alteration, despite them not doing it and taking the shirt back. Well, let me know when you check it and see that I paid on both Monday, and Friday for the same stitch lol. Just go somewhere else and save yourself the hassle. It's difficult to fully understand the overall low rating of this establishment. Our experience has been nothing short of wonderful. Perfect example is I accidentally spilt red wine all over my dear wife's blouse and pants during a small dinner party recently. She tried all the "home" remedies to no avail. She took the items to Greenland to see if they could do something. And did they ever! The wine stains were completely out and her clothing looked fresh as new. First, the customer service is horrible! Owner doesn't take any responsibility for flaws caused by her business. I see this is a common trend upon reviews! Brought in a few suits to get cleaned and pressed and when picked up, the threading in one suit was unraveling and a hole was made in my silk blouse. The owner called me about an "issue" with my silk pants which I knew about yet didn't mention there was a hole in my matching blouse. She then proceeded to tell me because it was a rushed job that they could have missed the hole. However, when I dropped off my suits, all 3 were in great condition with no flaws. Went to speak with the owner today and she told me that I brought it in with a hole yet they never documented any flaws in the clothes I brought in. I noticed all these flaws prior to leaving their business and she's still denying that these flaws happened at her business. I read the reviews prior to coming and considering Aladdin's were closed I came here in hopes they would do a good job. I would have expected better customer service and a solution in fixing the issue rather than blaming the customer for their errors. I wouldn't recommend this business and I will not be returning. read more

A had a positive experience here despite the other reviews. I had a good conversation about Korea, where the owners family is from, she helped me alter my dress and reminded me to bring my shoes. She called with an estimate and I received a complimentary pressing. The cost to have my dress hemmed was a bit expensive at $90 but I talked to my fellow brides maids and they all said they paid about $70 to have theirs done. I know everything in HBG is a bit more expensive so I paid about going rate. Overall I good experience and I would go back if I needed similar services. I'm not sure why there are low reviews for Greenland Cleaners - I have had nothing short of amazing and professional customer service! Looks like some of the reviews are from 8-years ago? The owners have been able to help me with a variety of materials. Most recently I brought a leather skirt to be cleaned and a tear to be fixed. The owner was knowledgeable about the leather the skirt and was able to fix the tear! They also dry cleaned a full sequin dress. They even send you a text when your clothes are ready. They have always been nice and have accommodated my needs whenever I need them to. I took my daughters prom dress here to be altered. I picked the dress up for $132 and was on my way and happy it was done! When my daughter tried it on I could see there was something wrong by the way the fabric bubbled at her bottom. When my daughter took it in they were nothing but rude! They told her she probably paid more for the altering because it was a cheap dress! It was a $498 dress from Nordstrom! Cheap or not should not matter! Worst dry cleaning experience we've ever had. Was charged almost 100.00 and they wrote in black ink our name and # on the inside of my husband's dress shirts. The woman I spoke to on the phone had every excuse why they did this. Apparently we should have known to ask not to have our clothing written on. I see there is one glowing review here and I have to question if it is a friend of the place or fake. The other reviews reflect my experience to a T. I was a customer for about 6 months without incident but they were certainly never anything close to friendly and even bordered on rude. And then they ruined a garment. It came back with huge dark stains that were not there before. A normal cleaner would apologize and try to get them out. They insisted it didn't have any stains when they had it, insinuating I put stains on it and brought it back in the hour I had it?? Can't say enough good things about Greenland Cleaners. I typically dont write reviews but I've been going to Greenland for 2 years and thought it would be a great start! Greenland s the real deal -- super friendly and gets the deepest stains off my favorite shirts. I take all my premium dress shirts and designer jackets to Greenland and I always get back my items in crisp condition. I've been to 4 other cleaners in the Healdsburg and Windsor area but none of them compare to the service and quality of how my clothes turn out. My wife also had a dress that had a fabric bleeding problem and we went to 2 different cleaners to get it clean but both of them told me they couldn't do it . Greenland Cleaners did it! Ok, so I will admit, I hadn't checked the yelp reviews on this place until after I'd dropped off my clothes for alterations. 2 vintage dress shirts that I really like but looked dated. I wanted the fit changed to what is commonly referred to as "modern fit" a much slimmer and fitted style that is more tailored looking and fitted, compared to shirts of the early 2000's. I brought in a couple shirts that had the fit I liked along with the ones I wanted altered. Jessica, the owner, did the fitting. I put the shirts on that already fit the way I liked. Then I put on the shirts to be altered. Jessica took her time and pinned the shirts up the way that I felt looked good.. she was a bit skeptical and told me she thought they were too tight. But I insisted and she said she'd do her best. When I left I looked at the yelp reviews, I was a little bit nervous about the other reviews, but decided that I'd give this business a shot. I'd like to report I have no idea what happened with the other reviewers but my experience was excellent. The shirts fit better than I could have hoped , and I can't wait to wear them! I already have some other shirts I am going to bring in for more alterations, I will recommend this place to my family and friends, I couldn't be happier with the results and look forward to having all my vintage shirts altered to fit and follow more current styles and trends.. I too had negative experiences with Greenland Cleaners. But they are the only cleaners in town. Just returned and they turned down cleaning a raincoat, A raincoat?? I should not be surprised because they also would not sew a simple seam on a sweater. The last group of clothing I received from them smelled so bad we had to hang them outside. When I returned, the people in front of me also complained and they called them liars. When I interjected and said my clothes also had an odor they shook their heads and didn't offer to re-clean or reimburse. It is an unpleasant experience from the moment you walk in the door, the customer service is nonexistent. They obviously do not want to do their job. read more

I completely concur with the previous reviewer. When Green Land Cleaners changed owners, it became a totally different place! For starters, careless cleaning, eg. poked threads out of my sweater (and then said they didn't do it!); make a black spot on my bedspread (and again, claimed not to have done it!); bent one of my best alpaca sweaters out of shape and shrunk it ... Yikes! As if this isn't enough, the customer service on the part of the male owner is completely abysmal (read, non-existent). This guy seems not to have a clue about how to deal with a customer! Offered no compensation -- or even an apology -- for any of the above. (On the positive side, this man's wife is a saving grace. Very good with customers). Sadly, though, he seems to be the one doing the cleaning! Appears very inexperienced to me. I, personally, am also beginning to doubt whether the new owners are still using "green technology" to clean. My bedspread smelled very "chemically" at first -- and still, smells quite a bit, even 2 weeks later. Hmmmm ..... I will not take any more items to this cleaner. Consumer Beware! read more

When I moved to Healdsburg about 7 months ago and had to go through the struggles of finding a new doctor, dentist... a new coffee shop... a new nail salon... it's probably one of the most time consuming things. I was very thankful to find the best dry cleaners, no joke, no exaggerations. Not only do they do a fantastic job but they are fantastic people J My roommate first found Greenland mostly due to proximity and we didn't really know what to except the first time around. She had a blouse and a leather jacket that had an impossible stain on it. She went to another cleaners in the area and sent it back 3 times to be washed and couldn't get it out! So we decided to give Greenland a shot they got it out all in ONE GO. They had such attention to detail that they noticed it and did everything to get it out. And in the end they didn't even charge her for the shirt because they felt the other cleaners in Healdsburg should have taken it out the first time... Every single time I go in I leave with a smile on my face. The owners are so friendly and always wanting to know how you are. That type of customer service is hard to leave. I dropped off two dresses to be dry cleaned and when I picked them up they weren't clean and still had a strong smell under the arms. When I brought them back to complain, I was not refunded for the inconvenience. Instead, I was told that they would try to clean them again but that they 'might need to charge me.' Just moved to Healdsburg after the fires our cleaners in Santa Rosa burned so now that we relocated here we needed to find one. A friend of ours told us about Greenland Cleaners and the great job they have done for them over the years. The two young girls that work there are very friendly and and very help full they gave me pricing on all items I asked for and helped me get my clothes back the soonest possible at no extra charge. I normally don't write reviews, but I read the other two reviews and had to write one because I have had a completely different experience at Greenland. My family and I have gone to Greenland Cleaners ever since we moved to Healdsburg a few years ago. Despite being a complete neat-freak/high-maintenance about my clothes, I've had nothing but excellent cleaning done here. The seamstress lady is known to be one of the best in the Sonoma County area and all of my jeans have been hemmed by the her (with original hem might I add). I even took in a dress to alter it 3 sizes down, and it fit perfectly the first time! The only complaint I had was the one girl that the other reviewer mentioned. She used to work at the front and was always really rude and gave customers attitude if they had any complaints. But I haven't seen her in the last few months so I'm assuming she no longer works there. I know the place went through an ownership change not too far back and though the prices went up a little, they changed their system to an all-computerized one so pricing and receipts are a lot more accurate and convenient for me. WAY more efficient than those handwritten ones they used to have. The owners are very nice and honest -- they make sure to let me know if they think they can't take out a stain. They're super prompt and I've even taken clothes in to get cleaned and had it done by the next day. Another plus is that they use environmentally-friendly equipment! I have never had a problem with the smell of my clothes or added stains, and being a Cal alum... green products are something that have become an intrinsic joy to hear about :P read more

Anyway, took a cotton ivory colored handbag here, and when I picked it up I was charged $39.00!! I was so shocked, the manager did deduct $5, but still....OK I learned my lesson to get a quote! Perhaps I just have lower standards than the other reviewers, but Green Land Cleaners works out great for me and for my co-workers. My place of employment has all of our suits dry cleaned at Green Land and I like it. Sure, Dawn and Kristin can complain that they are not being treated like "best friends" but I don't expect that from anywhere except a frequent restaurant that you tip well at. Greenland cleaners puts up with dry cleaning my clothes. I say again "puts up with dry cleaning MY clothes". I have a dog, I am a college bachelor along with my room mate and we are SLOBS! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER I got a bridesmaid dress length taken up there last week after hearing they had a seamstress on site. When I picked it up, it was the same length as the shirts I had dry-cleaned. I tried it on when I got home and it just covered my "buns". I'm maid of honor for my sister's wedding. Not that this would be acceptable for any wedding...but especially not my sister's. I brought it back and explained the situation very nicely and asked if they would please let it down as much as possible. The owner was hostile and defensive and told me that if I had it measured, pinned and approved where it was pinned then it was my fault and I would have to pay $25 to have it redone. And further explained that they don't make mistakes. I explained that I did, in fact, have it measured, pinned and approved where it was pinned...however...the result was NOT where it had been pinned when it was on me. We argued back and forth and he told me he would call me Monday to tell me how we could work it out. He was awful. Monday, a lady called me and told me that they'd split the difference with me. Now I understand that mistakes happen. And their margin of error must be low. But there's NO WAY I would EVER have the dress shortened to where they left it. They lost themselves a great customer over a mere $10. I took it to Lakewood Cleaners in Windsor out of principal. They do a wonderful job for basic work. For more complicated work, Sew and Sew in Montgomery Village. I will never return to Green Land. Terrible. read more

$55.00 and it's still got all the stains I brought it in for..... I brought in a leather jacket for cleaning. I was not told it would cost at least $50.00, but I will say I did not ask. The stains that I wanted removed were on a sleeve, a ball point pen mark (ink) and sweat stains. I came to pick it up and was told it is $55.00. When I said, What??? the owner rushed over and began defending the price with, Call other cleaners. I said if I had known how much it would cost, I would not have let them have it...then I looked at the sleeve and all the stains I brought it in for are still there....AND a safety pin with a paper tag is attached....putting a hole in the leather (they could have put that pin through only the cloth lining.) So I paid $55.00 literally for nothing, the owner made no attempt to make a happy camper of me, quite the opposite she became incensed and continued to blather about I should call other cleaners. There was no "menu board" showing their prices. After paying the $55.00 (I would never steal), I took my jacket and put it in my car, and another customer was walking toward the cleaner...I said to that woman, You might want to reconsider using them....She asked Why and I responded , they just ripped me off for $55.00. The owner heard this, rushed out and told me to leave or she would call the Police, to which I responded...Please call them. When the woman was leaving I asked about the owner calling the police and she said that was indeed done.....but the police did not come. If they were the last cleaner on earth, I would not go there again and I recommend everyone stay away from them too. read more

This is the worst dry cleaner ever. They have twice charged me over $20 per time to NOT remove spots or even clean the items. I paid them $17 to reattach a button to a pillow and it fell off on the car ride home. Atrocious work. NEVER AGAIN. read more

BEWARE! They ruined my designer blazer and then handed it back to me with black color run all over the white. They refused to help fix it and told me to take it back to Nordstrom because 'they'll take anything back', pushing the problem off on an innocent party. They also berated me for getting a stain on my blazer - I guess they expect you to be perfect to be a customer. They are also very rude and surly. We recently traveled by plane to California for my daughters wedding. Green Land Cleaners was recommended to us by a hotel in Healdsburg. We wanted to have the wedding gown, suits and mother of the bride dress steamed prior to the wedding day. Green Land Cleaners did a remarkable job turning our order around in one day. I had a very negative experience with Green Land and, while it may be good for dry cleaning, my issue is with its alterations. I brought a swimsuit to be altered (band size was too small and the next size was not available). Since I needed it soon, before I event brought the swimsuit in, I asked if it could be done in less than a week--"No problem", they said. I was told to go buy a bra extender so they could attach it but, after seeing my options, I chose to buy swimsuit material instead. When I brought it in, they said it would be more expensive but I still wanted the swimsuit so I said ok. The material I bought was black and had a matte side and shiny side. I asked them to use the matte side so it matched the swimsuit. Again, they said no problem. Passing through Healdsburg today, I called before going in to see if it was possibly ready (a day before it was scheduled) and it was. When I picked it up, they had used the shiny side of the material, not the matte side. When I asked what happened, the woman simply said she told the seamstress which side to use but she obviously made a mistake. When I asked for a discount, she became visibly irritated and gave me $3 off an $18 bill. She then launched into a diatribe about how the seamstress won't be happy that she discounted it because she had to do the alteration twice. "Why is that", I asked. Apparently, the first time she only extended it 1/3 of what was needed, using the matte sided material. Then, she redid it with the correct length but the wrong shiny sided material. I reminded the woman that those were errors on the seamstress's part, not mine. She then said that they made an exception for me, saying they'd complete it by the day I requested even though they had a lot of work to do. Needless to say, I was so taken aback by being blamed for the seamstress's mistakes and for the supposedly rushed job (which they agreed to before I even brought the garment in), I simply paid and left. I will not be going back or referring anyone to this business. I, like many in the area, work in hospitality and am constantly asked for recommendations on local businesses & vendors. Due to my experience, Green Land no longer makes the cut. I would proceed with caution and be prepared to be treated poorly. read more
